0.11.6 Public Test 0.11.6 - Separation of Exterior Visuals and Economic Bonuses
Jvd2000 replied to YabbaCoe's topic in Archive
@YabbaCoe On the test server only the first visual camo for a ship is discounted ( aka 100/ 200D) any additional camo is way more expensive. Now many of my ships have event camo’s that are “ not always that nice looking” . I used them because of economic bonuses and them being free to use instead of single use camo’s. With the rework this problem is indeed solved. Like I use the economic bonus and pick the camo I do like. But I would prefer to buy the additional permanent basic permanent camo of the ship instead. Like spending 200D to get a normal looking permanent camo is ok if that permanently saves from looking at a xmas camo. But unfortunately the earlier free camo ticks as being an camo already been equipped So buying the base camo counts as a second camo with a much higher base price. Basicaly: can WG offer the base permanent visual camo for each ship always for a discounted prize. Now I feel that I am being punished for receiving an ugly camo before being able to buy the normal camo instead. -
Kobayashi Bonuses gone? (picture included)
Jvd2000 replied to ziratulbihac's topic in General Discussion
Players might decide to buy Anshan for coal before next patch. Currently Anshan gives a 100% FXP bonus on top of the regular permanent 50xp% camo’s at T6. So this will translate in a 150% FXP instead of just 50% FXP ( other stats are identical). With the rework and the split between visual and economic bonuses your Anshan bought AFTER rework will lose that advantage. -
60% reduction in monthly RB-points, because - reasons....
Jvd2000 replied to ZeuSueZ1337's topic in General Discussion
Some flag reward are getting lowered in quantity too. But the 2 free port spaces remain. So if both RB and flags get corrected in the 2 nd part of the month it’s already good. Might get even better if we receive the 2 port slots a second time. -
Lackluster? Bought some discounted missing US low tier ships and spend over 50m silver on the 50% discounted modules. Even fully stacked my loan ships & submarines with modules for when the loan ends and the modules go into reserve for me to use another time. The lady Liberty and the decal are just ( almost irrelevant) sideshow that will be earned by just playing. The 200% bonus is also very appreciated. Actually I am happy there are no rng crates or other bs token farm. If you want the new T8 or permanent camo or captain you just pay directly doubloons… ( nope personally not interested, but I do appreciate the “ no strings attached approach “) Great event!
-
Very welcome event. Waiting and preparing for this. I spent 30m on modules on recently purchased but not fully equipped T10’ and recently rebought T2-T4 when the relevant nation has a discount. Then another 20 million equipping the 3 T10 ships on loan plus subs ( sub slots only with modules usable on regular surface ships).

I will get Black eventually. With 2 discount coupons a year I have just enough steel to use it on one steel ship a year, so the other goes to an expensive coal ship. With only Forest and Tulsa as alternatives ( and Forest hardly more expensive as a T9) the next available discount coupon might have Black’s name on it… Although I might prefer to get an extra T10 for the anniversary event. Will need atleast one 1500 steel drop to get a steel T10 or else Forest as alternative. But then the dec discount will be a steel ship with Black in the waiting room for the June 2023 coupon..

Regarding summer sale, Steam and WG: For the privileged WOWS players ( aka the Steam elite): some new free and discounted DLC’s have arrived. Transformers: free crate with another collection item. Some discounted items like premium mid tier ships that might not be the greatest but at a nice discounted prize. If you already have they do give a lower doubloon refund though. Option to buy some T3 nations sets. They are just silver ships but they give 3 free ports, 3 pnt captains and fully researched T3’s. plus some silver if already in port. Nice for boosting the start of a new line/ nation or free ports. Wish I had picked an WG account through Steam.

The number of T11 ships in coop ( even more painful for the wallet due to gimped rewards) is surprisingly high. When I do coop for missions I take out only my premiums since coop in T9/ T10 is already not the best for the silver. But when I see 1/2 T11 in coop games with mediocre or even bad gameplay I wonder how they initially bought the ship and how they can balance their income with 400k in the negative each game.. I have many games but zero T11 in port. Might be in the far future if only T11 are missing in port and there is a good motivation ( snowflakes) to do so.

Hoi Sera, Question about the future interaction between fixed boosts to xp, FXP and CXP due to having “ the old permacamo” compared to what we have now? f.e. I take my Baltimore into battle rather cheap in flags and camo. So with the 3k doubloons permanent camo and say the most basic economic flags. So 50% xp from the camo, and an additional 50% xp, 50% CXP and 300xp FXP from flags. The basic camo gets changed to compensate the loss of CXP and FXP due to only taking into account base xp. So my new Balti “ cheap” setup would be : 50% xp, 50 CXP and 50% FXP ( with the bonus that FXP has doubled to 0,1)from the permanent boost connected to the ship. But do I still have the option to add additional xp, FXP and CXP bonuses? Or will they overwrite the permanent bonuses? Like replacing them or are the additional? I am a bit worried that our bought permanent camo’s are being redundant stat wise. Like now when you use a better one time camo instead of the free permanent camo if you want to make big numbers. But atleast now you can use your permanent, although maybe not the best available, camo and use additional flags to buff the overall gains.

Food for thought. Can you use ASW planes to help your cv?
Jvd2000 replied to ARE_YOU_HUMAN's topic in General Discussion
Because the red team might have players willing to aid THEIR CV so they combined can dumpster your team even harder. If the enemy cs is good and yours is bad, not that much to be done. If opposite you are lucky. If both cv’s are equal helping your cv in murdering the red team helps. -
Maybe shifts also has to do with consistent never ending new events from WG that require grinding. With more emphasis on quantity then quality/ skill. And players are getting tired to be WG mouse on their treadmill. I do. I had to grind last week just to get Cherbourg. The moment there is nothing to “ miss out on” I play 1 coop game to get the log in, 2000 xp bonus crate and the xp from the first daily mission. Because there are other things to do.

Will research bureau ships become to easy to get?
Jvd2000 replied to RazorBlade72's topic in General Discussion
I think FXP gains will be stable. The doubling of the base xp conversion rate to FXP is enough to offset the loss of only using base xp instead of total xp. So you will get equal FXP compared to a ship now that has a 100% xp buff. And for more FXP you have to add one of the 4 new tiers of FXP bonuses that indeed will not profit from XP bonuses but have massive increased %numbers to offset this. Combined with the doubling from 0.05 to 0,1 xp FXP ratio I think we are fine even if we mostly use tier 2 and tier 3 FXP bonus( tier 4 will be in low supply and expensive) . But it’s not like we use the current top 200xp / 777 FXP camo each game either. Only thing you might lose out is when you use max BiS flags and best camo combined with first win bonus. But with singular bonuses you can just prioritize the xp type you want. So when I go into battle with a premium ship I just boost credits, FXP and CXP and ignore xp ( or just use a very low one ) Aka I can adjust my boosts towards the wanted xp type and ignore the ones that I do not care for. So I can much more economically use my boosts. XP bonus on ships I level, the rest on ships where I can do some good secure farming ( Weimar Narai runs fe) So imo: Going naked now vs naked after rework: more FXP Goin basic ( up to 100% xp bonus, basic economic flags) now vs basic after rework: more FXP Going basic with a ( premium ship/ permanent camo) now vs after rework: more FXP. Also since permanent camo’s are getting their CXP and FXP stats buffed due to the loss of xp counting for CXP and FXP) Going max now vs going max after rework: think it will be largely even. But with the rework you can boost more specific the currency you want to go for. only thing I am a bit worried about is credits. -
Since you are aiming for scenario duty be aware that next to reintroducing old scenarios’s WG is thinking about relaxing tier requirements. So that fe Narai is no longer exclusively T7 but ships in the T6-T8 bracket are usable. So for cherry blossom where allied cruisers are required you can also utilize a Bloise / Atlanta/ Flint . How WG will “ balance” everything is yet unknown ( and I have doubts regarding their stellar track record) . But I am looking forward to use my enterprise in the T6 harbor assault scenario with all those lovely German BB citadels.. And instead of Weimar using Mainz in Narai…
-
With the new scenario’s setup you might wait for more news about scenario’s no longer locked for a fixed tier. Seems WG is, next to reintroduce scenarios, also making scenarios available for multiple tiers. Initially T6-T8, so you can play Narai in Weimar to grief your group or take Mainz and see if it performs even better. Scenarios are a good source of different sources of xp and lean to certain types of ships to excel. Bagration with its heal might prevail over Bayard although the dpm output of the Bayard might be an usefull asset.

Ruckus is not transparent and WG broke promises
Jvd2000 replied to Raid_on_the_Medway's topic in General Discussion
Which is indeed quite well hidden. My clanmate had a T6 container as first drop but did not want to bother with the rng token gamble. Only found out about this from the forum. -
Maybe interesting if the first crate is the T9 AND you already have all the ships AND the compensation is 19k D for a T9 AND you already have the doubloons required on your account. Otherwise wg -> event- shove it - dark location
-
So first gamble 250D to get some tokens with the bulk being 10/30 tokens. edit: wrong bulk is single token… Then you gamble those expensive tokens for 100 tokens a try on a secondary slotmachine that has a T9 premium container as one of the possible rewards. And it’s a nerfed T9 premium container with lesser currently available T9’s. It’s WG gamblehouse in overdrive…

Szarza camo exchanged with Stripes and Stars? Why? I like my Szarza camo.
Jvd2000 replied to Zeveroth's topic in General Discussion
It means that instead of the Szarza camo you will be able to buy the Texas camo instead in the CT shop. Sompig younalreadybhave the Szarza camo nothing changes, you will keep it. If you do not yet have it, you have limited time to buy it. Afterwards you can only buy the Texas camo. -
Is the Oktyabrskaya Revolutsiya BB any fun in randoms?
Jvd2000 replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
It’s expensive for its tier due being a BB vs the cruisers and DD’s. Although all T9 coal ships are priced equal ( except former steel) at the lower tiers there is prize difference. The T6 coal DD’s are not that much more expensive. And Lazo is a mere 20k more. As a ship its not that bad, there are slower BB’s, and angled it’s tanky but with the increased 15” + guns found in its matchmaking overmatch is a thing. On the plus size its a real ship ( one of the few non fake Soviet BB’s. Actually its the modernized Imperial T4 Gangut under new communist management. A bit extra range and some additional AA that cv’s will still laugh about. plus size of buying low tier coal ships is that you eliminate them from the droppool so CT containers and SC will have a higher drop of better ships/ ships that cannot be earned for free. -
[PSA] Don't forget the new WEB campaign (Fri. 10 Jun - Fri. 24 Jun = 12-point Hank Bailey captain)
Jvd2000 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Just started the 4th mission chain. Has been all rather easy, any idea if the remaining missions remain easy ( as not time consuming) or do they go up in difficulty/ grind? Coming week less time to spend so…- 15 replies

What is your yearly cadence of obtaining Coal / Steel / Research Bureau ships?
Jvd2000 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Coal: with all the cheap coal ships ( T7 and lower) and admirals in port only Tulsa en Forest remain. With coal income ( including Santa snowflakes plus event extra’s) at 600k plus its about 3 top tier coal ships a year with the most expensive ( likely Black) bought with coupon. Steel: one a year with coupon, steel income is low. With the most expensive steel ships maybe even 0,9 ship a year. RB: my RB income is 4 resets plus dailies: 4x 20400 + 14400= 96k RB. That’s 1,5 T10 RB ship on average a year. Or 2 T9’s. But since I save up RB resets up to atleast 10 actual RB purchasing is more spread out. -
Neustrashimy is way more expensive to buy ( although luckily much less with coupon) and it’s a tier lower. Neustrashimy does lack a gunturret in comparison with both other T9 but has strong torps. But I prefer both regular T9 DD’s. Neustrashimy does align closest with Udaloi and has good survivability as a bonus. Khabarovsk is a ugly duck. You take the rudder upgrade modules to compensate the atrocious ruddertime. It’s a light cruiser ( with the visibility) without citadel but lacks any dd utilities. I use it in yolo coop missions with some succes when rush in and grind “x things to do”. Most important that the Khabarovsk gives you 2 T10 snowflakes each year. I think both DD’s are not the greatest ships and would be lower priority in buying coal ships.( got my Khabarovsk due to the change of silver-> freemium for free). Marceau smokes both of them. Z44 is equally bad. Don’t have experience with the US T10 DD.
-
Cherbourg is a tier lower and a cruiser… So you could also think about why would i take JB when I can take the “ fill in any good T10 ship”. But Cherbourg seems like a T8 that has not much replay value after finishing the grind except for the annual snowflake periods.
-
This. There are some nice T5-T7 to be had for coal. And some cheaper T5’s can be picked just to be sure they won’t drop from a crate. With CT, after eliminating the coal T5’s you can then pick off the remaining T5’s.
-
Not that much, atleast not soon, unfortunately. Wanted to buy a steel BB but even with a 25% discount that’s still 24k steel, 4,500 more then currently owned. And just 70k coal after buying Carnot full prize a month ago. So either I get lucky with SC during the anniversary or we get Xmas snowflakes a bit earlier ( for the 75 silver for T8/T9) it’s 90% going to be Incomparable. The other 10% is if WG announces the withdrawal of a steel ship.. If not then it’s going to be the coal US T10 DD. As for the doubloon discount, I am waiting for WG to release a cheap T5/T6. Currently remaining doubloon premiums ( that are not coal) are CV’s, some really uninspiring T9’s ( pan Asia cruiser and ITA Giuseppe Verde) and some T8’s. As for T7 ( current lowest available premiums) Maya would be my first choice since the ITA ( former French) dd seems really bad.
