    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

Actualy Duca and GC might share some points (EM, RA and CE) but its far from ideal. Since you will have an 2nd Italian BB better create 2 Italian captains. Duca really needs CE and IFHE to shine. GC and Roma could well share their captains. For the Russian BB's, they have some differences as people might want to strengthen the aa capacity of the Okt Revolution. Points that would be a real waist on the Nik 1.

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

Had some games with it and been lucky most of the times. But had some tier VII battleships games with her and they were more then ok. I think she is indeed one of the tier V BB that perform ok in tier VII games mostly due to her speed and concealment. But you have to adapt your playstyle. Use your concealment, manouvrability and speed to dodge enemy BB salvo’s. Your HP and armor is not up to that level of firepower. High tier cv’ can be your downfall too. While your aa is not that bad for a tier V, its inadequate for countering a CV attack at tier VII. But no tier V BB is safe even a Texas. So you need concealment as captain skill, dont yolo in, and have awareness were enemy dd are hiding since eating torps is not something she’s good at. And most important never show broadside. Which is a good advice for any ship, it doubles for the GC. Although even when angled the 16” will wreck you from any side. But on the other hand, you can choose the location were to engage the enemy, you can relocate fast and your guns can blab any tier VII cruiser or DD just as well as a tier IV. Even Gneisenau’s and Scharnhorst will feel the folly of underestimating you. 17K dmg salvo’s on the upperworks against those German BB are very possible. If angled HE is a very good alternative. You can play your role, but as low tier you are relient on your OWN team’s top tier BB to fullfil their role as well.

    Duke of York

I am close to aquire again 375K Free XP. Have both the Missouri and Nelson. I like the Nelson, less sucesfull with MO since i have problems adapting to high tier playstyle but atleast she makes me silver even in co-op...So never passed over any free ship (even guilty of buying some additioneel free xp for Mo) So now the DoY...Sigh..really the gut feeling is like no...not interested..even when my 375 Free XP is actualy free, aquired by just playing.. I dont free xp modules anymore also because i reached the lines of silver ships that i want to reach. So the Free xp, its there but absolute no incentitive to waste free xp on a ship i wont like, a ship that feels wrong, a ship i dont even want in my harbor just for “have”. The DoY just makes me sad..
  5. But what countries are we talking about then? We have the major European players: UK, Italy, France, Germany and then USSR. They are present in the game. Then we have some countries that actually made some larger then dd ships after ww1 themselves: Sweden , Spain and Netherlands. Maybe even the Fins with their 2 monitors. (But how to make these monitors attractive in game?) Norway, Denmark Greece had only pre ww1 armoured cruisers/ pre dreadnoaughts. Turkey had the former German Goeben and a ww1 cruiser. Yugoslavia a ww1 former German cruiser. Romania and Portugal some old DD's.. Poland's dd is already in the game. For DD's and cruiser only one country is remotely capable of filling the line until tier VI/VII: the Netherlands. Sweden can do the dd silver line and have the Gota Leon or Tre Kronor as premium cruiser. BB's will be even more difficult: We have the Espana class which will have troubles even at tier III, the Sverige class which is not even a full Dreadnougth. And for BB blueprints we have the Dutch BB 1913 plan which might touch tier IV, the Spanish Littorio variant (VIII) and the Dutch project 1047 which is a faster Scharnhorst with better aa and lesser armor(VI/VII). Modern ships (after ww1) not originating from the "big" countries (so not counting commonwealth) and larger then dd's are few. Some Dutch cruisers (Java (you want another Kahrsruhe?), De Ruyter (another Huang meh with low hp, armor and firepower) or Kuikduin/Zeven Provinvien. Then Sweden (Tre Kronor- still a very light cruiser)and maybe the rebuilt light cruiser (forgot its name). Spain: the Canarias class CA. Thats it. Outside Europe maybe the leftovers from the dreadnought race in Latin America (tier 3-4) and the 2 Italian made unique heavy cruisers for Argentina (which look Italian so very beautiful) but would struggle above tier VI. For me WG can create premiums of all these ships and people should then be free to (not) buy them or even make them into silver lines but it will be tough to create a realistic coherent silver ship line for the European minors.

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

True, but since i am guilty of Divisional sealclubbing myself i find myself quite good in predicting the quality of the red team before the match begins..When I see specific premium ships in the opposing team (a Kamikaze R, Gremyashi or even a Murmansk) i pay more attention to them then fe an GC, Tirpitz or okt rev. Some premiums are hyped and indeed everyone could play them. Especialy when they division up in a particular way. The same way i “disregard” faildivisions and or stock ships. And disregard does not mean disrepect in any way, its just the way i study both teams in advance of the match... Seeing a division of 3 GC or oktober revolutions teaming up is one thing, meeting a team of flints, saipans and Scharnhorst/Belfast can be a red sign. (Although the later 3 can be scrubs/wallet warriors as well) You can never be 100% certain but indications can be found. Some premiums have a higher chance to have a good player then others.. But happened to silver ships too, for example the number of Bismarcks released during the event few Months ago.
  7. or what about the sole dd in the entire game staying inside our OWN cap defending the 2 cv’s.....No “encouragement” Made HIM leave the cap...

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

No its because of a different group of drivers behind the ships.

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

Its not p2w. You have fixed ship stats and then player experience (quality) and the captain skills that are unlocked. Premium ships have the advantage (especialy the lower tiers) that their captain is advancend in skills and the player normaly has more games behind his/ hers belt. Most of the silver tier V ships are just pass-though ships with relative in experienced players.. When all the mission gained Oktober Revolutions were released i saw a lot of derping players. A good player with a skilled captain can create havoc in a NY. But it does not happen because the NY is not often selected as a keeper. Especialy with the Texas around.

    French battleships talk

A shame actualy since the Strassbourg was different the the Dunk in armor layout. The silver ship (Strassbourg) would be better then the Premium ship(Dunk)

The New York is the Ugly Duck of tier V. And she will not turn into a swann soon.

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

You beat me on the point regarding AA. She is maybe not the best in the AA department but she definetly is not the worst either. She is not immune to CV attacks but she will take out some planes. When meeting tier VII CV it’s bad (or even Saipan bad) but IV or V together with her manouvrability and no manual drop she is ok. I spec anti aa considering the 1 or even 2 cv’s that i often meet. Now close towards 14th point and seriously considering AFT. Have BFT and anti aa flag already standard equiped. If I could name a liability it’s her HP and armor. And that broadsides are extremely punishable considering her citadel..

WG seriously, this issue has to be addressed!

Wish we had a specific report for these kind of players.. I propose Flamu’s “AFK Brain” or “reported for putting hands on keyboard” as a new type of report Had my moment yesterday when i met a player on my team with a KGV hiding behind rocks and being completely useless... Had a grand total of 16 randoms behind his back...only played RN BB’s.... There are those evenings that you run out of reports too soon...

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

Orion is the same reason i did not keep the ID. Why keep an equal tier V ship with worse MM when you can have a proven sealclubber with MM protection. With a diminishing reason to even keep the Konig, none of the current tier V’s BB’s are worth keeping compared with all the tier V BB premiums.

    Giulio Cesare - the tier5 Nikolai ?

Regarding Texas vs NY I think that Texas ship for ship is simply better. But the main difference will be both the experience of the player and the number of captainskills available. I cant see many players keeping the NY with a dedicated captain in their port. For me I was happy to ditch her as fast as possible fo the NM. So when you encounter a NY you, 9 out of 10, meet a player relative new in the US BB line with a captain with below 10 captain skills. This in contrast with a Texas driver who migh well be much more experienced, has a captain from a high tier BB on it (Texas captainskills are very complient with higher us BB captain skills, although CE is a bit bad on the Texas). So this means that stats get influenced not only because of the hard ship stats but also the difference of experience in the ship player. Same for all the other tier V premiums (incl the ARP Kongo’s). And regarding the other silver ships some players keep the Konig and ID which means these ships have a relative boost in results as well. I think both GC and Okt. Rev will even get better results in the future when people skill up their captain skills (since Italian and soviet BB drivers (ex Imp I ) did not yet exist)

NERF this STUPID BROKEN SHIP "FLINT"!!!

The Flint in it self is not OP. You must taken into account that the driver (player) has atleast 3 rankend seasons behind his/her belt ending as top level. So you have a ship that needs some brain to function and a driver that atleast has some quality and knowledge of tactical play. When you see the teambuilds during the lading screen always look at possible ships that are know to be driven by better then average/seasoned players...Like the Flint.

    R(evenge) class Premium?

    HMS Tiger yes please !

    R(evenge) class Premium?

You are getting 2 dd's and some cruisers :) By the way, talking about premium cruisers, what happened to the Makarov (soviet Nurnberg)?

    The Inbalance of tier5

But remind yourself about the benefits of HE spam. When you are in a non german BB and you just have to make a turn and show broadside in front of enemy BB's... You make the turn...you heart rate goes up....you know you will receive at least one broadside before you are angled again.... and the enemy shoots HE
  20. Jvd2000

    R(evenge) class Premium?

Think with 3 premiums we are full. Would actually prefer a R-class at V then another KGV clone at VII though. Dont yet have KGV, but if I keep it I can put premium camo on it.
  21. Jvd2000

    R(evenge) class Premium?

I like playing fat mid tier slow BB's. As for the Revenge class even if history learns us that they were used during ww2 doing less gloryfull but needed convoy escorts missions. So will happily buy the ship because it has history. But I equally like playing faster nimble BB's, even if the history of the ship puts them as flak boats inside harbors because of fuel shortages and they only sailed out to surrender and switch sides... And getting blasted in the process by an experimental missile by an upset former ally. So will buy Roma as well

    That's all folks!

Waiting for Lorraine (sistership of Bretagne with centre turret removed and plane added) as premium
  23. Jvd2000

    That's all folks!

Yep, indeed a massive increase in HP and actualy the tier VII is also 27 knts. A slight lose due to the extra turret.
  24. Jvd2000

    That's all folks!

The tier V only 20,6 knots..thats slower then US BB’s. Then the tier VI makes over 29 knots...??? With such a hull shape..Maybe a typo?

A Ship a Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

Stalingrad says hello... But if WG is releasing tier 10’s premiums why not make a sale instead of giving it free to the 1% elite. IMO premiums should have been kept tier VIII max... Now we (will) have MO, Mushasi, Black, Stalinggrad and Salem....
