I will collect some royal tokens, but will not get Cunningham. Don’t have the requiredT8 ( and will not FXP her) and cannot commit to get the required daily 20 tokens all days. That will leave me with 700 royal tokens from the missions ( will go for London) , the daily log in rewards and some extra... I am struggling between choosing silver or doubloons. Have flags, camo and premium time in abundance but are a bit short on silver due to module changes and buying the new ships... So for the non- Cunningham collectors: what’s your pick for the secondary prizes?

Since not mentioned before: German cruisers have a better HE penetration as a National flavor. Currently taking ifhe does not really ad much to the treshold you can pen. This includes the Koningsberg and Nürnberg. And future Mainz. Also as a Bayard owner i feel a bit shafted by WG ifhe rework since her special build in better HE penetration (1/5 penetration) will be standard for all t8 150-180 guns.. No, she will not be worse but does lose some advantage against simmilar 15x m’n cruisers.

I made sure i finished my last bundle 2 days in advance so that i got visual on the next bundle and the chance to get the tokens if a ship showed up just to prevent this BS.

Well i think Kirishima is funny in a sense that she is quite full of herself. Cocky when things go ok but easily panicked. How she reacts when on fire compared to the stoic Kongo.. So fun for a match or two but i would not make her my standard voice though.

Most of the ARP captains are rather calm. We have only a few that are a lot more lively. Kirishima ( incl. bear form), Takoa, Ashigara are the noisy ones. Ilona is just annoying.

Currently regrinding 2 lines at my own slow pace. US CA and soviet CL Line. Using Narai to finish Shchors and almost readye to unlock Buffalo. Picked these 2 lines because of combination of having all ships t6 upwards with thus existing specced captains and permanent camo on all but the Dimitry Donskoi. Both lines were reset with double bonus for research bureau. Currently silver is my main bottleneck due to equipping all my premiums with modules after excessive whaling with xmas crates. Only around 22m left.

Retraining a 19 point captain is quite expensive in FXP/ captain xp or a flat 500 doubloons. And Chapy and after that Dimitri and Moskwa will need a different specced captain. Economical he can just farm some Narai in his Shchors to get that free captain xp to lvl his captain on Chapy to the minimum of 10. The way the OP earns captain xp will make this a easy ride. My Budyonny and Shchors captains were definitely not 18/19 after grinding through that line so he is earning some massive xp with these ships.

With 9.1 coming next week WG is activating changes to the reward system when you level up. This means for the veterans that they receive 15.000 coal and 5 extra standard supply containers with coal. So that’s between 17 and 21k coal..

Well seems you really liked the tier 6 and 7 because the high point captains. I had the same problem, kept both Budyonny and Shchors and the captains and had a semi fresh one available for Chapy. Well since you have a tier 19 means you have access to captain xp. Normally I am against reshuffling captains between ships due to the extra retraining costs. But Chapy really starts to work with atleast 14 points ( CE and IFHE) while Budyonny can already work with a lesser captain. So if you are willing to pay the retraining cost maybe switch captains. But beware that Chap has a bit different captain needs then the Budyonny. Most economical wil be to keep the captains as they are and boost the Chap captain through FXP and captain xp towards minimal 10 points.. Since you already invested FXP to buy the upgraded modules might also invest into your captain. Maybe take your Shchors trough the current Narai scenario to get that free captain xp. Regarding question Smolensk / JB. It seems you like the spammy Russian cruiser... But you are 180k short? For both ships? So you can already afford one? Smolensk is slightly more expansive though. 180k short with 2 months requires heavy daily grinding and some good rng with the number of coal you get out of loot boxes. If you full grind each day you will get 400 out of missions and 3 crates with between 400, 800 or 1200 coal. With above avarage luck you are at 2800 coal a day. Say 20k a week. 7/8 weeks left... Maybe clan bonus will give you the needed extra. Otherwise you will be depending on events that give coal as a reward.

Well last time I had 2 Nagato’s and a Scharnhorst going after the CV. The Nagato’s only after sitting out the Missouri battle at B5 the Scharnhorst after fighting the Missouri. Since 1dd and Fiji were just returning from transportschip hunting that left few ( non smoke) cruisers to do the fighting and tanking inside the harbor...... Well atleast the Scharnhorst entered the battle from the side. The 2 Nagato just HE’ed away from C9. We lost 3 stars from destroyed escorted ships... Luckily the Nagato divisions paint was undamaged...

Yes, I bought both Aigle and Blys for the reason that they are rather cheap in coal and ok to play. But mostly because I was going to buy Xmas crates and wanted to prevent getting any cheap coal ships as a dropreward. Buying the ships and the October Revolution atleast prevent WG gifting you a ship that could be earned free by coal.

T5 only and from the first round of reward tokens. Afterwards nothing. Did get some xp progress on Hawkins so will unlock Devonshire when regular available. But find the shiptype ( CA UK) underwhelming so it will be a slow grind just for completionalist reasons..

On average: how much coal can you acquire in 2 months? Two daily missions with 2 x 200 coal Three daily reward crates with 400 coal guaranteed with up to 800 more a crate. Current events ( U.K. fail bundle give coal fe) Clan based bonus 5/7/10% on all coal income. Basically I try to play each working day enough to finish one mission and 2 crates. That’s 200 + 1200 ( conservative 1,5 coal drop a crate)= 1400 coal. Weekend is 2 missions and 3 crates. That’s 400 + 1800= 2200. Average a week: 5* 1400 and 2* 2200= 11400 coal a week. With 8 weeks and clan bonus you might get close to 100k. Maybe more if some bonus events but getting the coal for Smolensk or JB without a healthy starting amount is going to be rough. Would be nice if WG gave two more months...

Today finished 4 th directive. Only have Hawkins to show for 22+ rng rolls. Atleast it saved around 20k FXP? Atleast that about as much to unlock Hawkins from Danea and the 2 modules. Some silver, port space... Doing my best to feel positive but....

For me this change is almost non relevant. Have both JB and Smolensk. Have none of the 3 soon-to- be coal ships because steel is reserved for Bourgogne. Making them available for coal makes them a bit more attainable but priority remains low even for coal. As for the new ships. For steel Bourgogne (and Stalingrad) > super Yamato. No change. For FXP I have no remaining ships but even then i prefer to spend my FXP on fast regrinding my lines for NTC (Ohio) before the new DD’s. As for coal I have only Yoshino left. Might even take the 175k admirals before taking these new DD’s. Maybe in the future Flint.

Mixed feelings about this. Steel is a slow grind for most players and only Xmas events etc. are the main steel income for me. Currently around 17k steel and have ignored all other steel ships because focussed on Bourgogne ( dd’s not my thing and Atlanta works bad for me). The 3 ships now becoming coal tier ships makes them somehow more easy to get although I value them no more then the “ snowflake” value and out of completionalist POV. But If I would have recently bought these steel ships I would be greatly upset. I applaud that there will be an additional mid tier coal ship Flint. The removal in just 2 months of Smolensk and JB ( I have both) is questionable. If you still want to get one of these you need to work hard on the daily rng coal crates...Without the discount earning 200k coal is a bit steep. Maybe one month more to give players some time to grind? Maybe a bit too much DD’s in the coal/ FXP shop?

I tend to keep T6 for their viability in scenarios. Since i prefer both BB and cruiser as my shiptype in the scenario’s I am always interested in potential gems for scenario’s. Premiums have their inherent bonus but silver ships can do very well. I am still not sold on Devonshire though. Trento was a big no. The chance to punish DD’s can be done by other ships while dpm really lacks.. The smoke cruisers are my favorite. Budyonny is still my prefered non-smoke BFF, with Nürnberg ( a bit too squishy), Dallas (rainbow shots) and the French duo being 2nd tier. Graf Spee really misses dpm and Aoba is the only ship at the tier currently not in harbor. Pensa packs some punch but it’s not the ship that favors close fighting. Only recently got Molotov, so that’s a ship to try out too. edit: all this with only scenarios in mind.

Might be wrong but premiums only come with a ten point captain if they are a reward from a rng crate or a special more expensive deal. Normal premiums bought with doubloons or cash in the basic form come with a captain with 3 skillpoints. But the ships don’t come cheap...

The grind gave 8 containers total. Although 8 times nothing is still nothing... Best reward was 250 doubloons and the combined 20k FXP was nice. But maybe WG should change the shiny container into a worn out small unpainted broken wooden box that breaks apart while you receive it in your harbor...the flavor of the container then matches the contents..

We should get a special flag for Nachi displaying a sinking russian flag with the number 20 just to distinguish the veterans from the wallet warriors :)
