I miss the fun and adequate competitive lower tier premiums.. what’s low, medium and high tier anyway? For me low is up to T4, medium is T5-T7, high is T8 and above. If you consider low/ medium premiums in the bracket tier 7 and below I liked the old ones much better. First reason above all is that ( almost) all currently released lower premiums only exits to be complementary to an event. Either received free or to be bought early in advance to ease up the grind event. Looking at Mikoyan, Hill, Sirocco, PEF, Gorizia, Genova... Oklahoma maybe the next? Their selling point not immediately their greatness but the advantage to have them..Then we have ships almost silently released like Yahagi.. Or the UV, our T5 Austrian Hungarian BB with a tad low HP... which should have been T4 but due to commercial reasons was released as T5... Sure not all ships are to be ( or should be) of the caliber GC but a nice Arizona or Dunkek with their weaknesses and strengths or even a Murmansk as the superior Russian Omaha is a better offer. Even the Texas has it’s uses although it aa strength is now limited while the regular NY has been buffed and outshines the Texas. And then we had the fun T4 specials...Mostly Russian low tier ships that actually did exist thought. Last one released was the Charleston and that went direct into coal..

Regarding the required research points, I received my first 10k research points for free the moment this feature was introduced. Was it a one time gift or do other players get it as well the moment you unlock the research? For me the arrival of the Slava “ ruined” my initial plans. Have 2 regrinds finished and 2 in progress and was thinking to get a 5th the moment the 2x modifier activates again.. But old plan was Ohio and Siegfried only So around 100k points needed. I could do that with my current 4 lines (80k) the initial free 10k plus now my monthly 1200 points.. Slava is another 2-3 lines..

Yes surprised as well. Did some nice farming in Eagis yesterday. Was looking forward to get some FXP and cap xp today. Clicked, joined battle and found myself in raptor rescue. Luckily team had some competent members and we pulled a 5 * but not going to farm this one. Second time we have a” good” scenario it only lasts a day and we get a bad one in return!

Well the missions are not that important. You can finish collection with daily crates although these extra crates do help. WG rng has been kind to me; one mission is all nations with dd, cl And cv, the other BB from US, Ger & JPN. Since I got all lines researched I could handle all but this set is fine.. But people missing complete lines.. Grinding basic lines up to T5 is not that time consuming... You know WG will wreck you at any event since more and more missions are gated by specific nation/ shiptype.

Depends on your priorities. Thunderer pro’s: it’s a T10, so you have one more sc next WG event Better ship overall Get it fast, might be one of the ships disappearing. Pommern: a bit cheaper in coal you can enjoy the benefits of having Pommern with the current missions that require you to have her now. My advice: pick Thunderer now ( especially if you have the coupon still available since you enjoy the largest possible discount on a coal ship) and get Pommern at your leisure afterwards

Well done WG, this is an event that is atleast IMO well done. * The missions of the 4 directives are rather easy to do without a real pressure to do them quick. Maybe the 4th directive should be started as soon as possible though.. These directives give German navy containers for you collection and as a final reward 5 kriegsmarine containers. * the 3 separate missions are rather easy to do as well with a27 days to complete them. They reward navy containers for your collection items only. One mission of the 3 is for dd,cv and cruiser T5 plus, one mission is BBT5+ but only JPN, USA & Ger...And the 3 rd is only for owners of Pommern and CV Loewenhardt. But that’s not a problems since collection items will drop from daily containers as well. So no hurry, hard grinding or need to throw away cash. well the Kriegsmarine containers have some gambling/ rng connected to them ( you will receive max 5 free) with a random drop chance to either receive silver line Hipper ( not sure perm camo is included..) premium Mainz, z-35 or Pommern. Since one of the reward is silver and another a free coal ship I think this really lowers the gamble need... Most appreciated is that this event does not advertise some big reward that proves to be unattainable in reality without handing over the cash.... Easy nice event without urge to open wallet because you might miss out on something... ps. First observations in battle show a large number of Pommern’s ( let just hope they are bought with coal) having HP captain buff, firing HE and torping 2 line with no enemy even near the max range of 6(?) km torp range...

That’s why I said players should either reset their goal( expectations) to the secondary prizes or don’t play at all. Focusing on the amount of RNG and that you need GZ in port makes it easy to understand that getting the Tx camo monetary free is very unlikely. For me I started with Graf Zeppelin So in theory I had a shot... got 2 out of 3 CV’s... So in the end not the main prize... but did not have the expectation to reach that goal. From collection POV I happely receive the T4 and T6 with their respective camo’s. Once again playing these ships made it clear again that i am not good nor enjoying the game with cv’s. But we got some small extra bonuses as wel as you said. But I can imagine the frustration of people that have gotten zero CV drops while still grinding their [edited]of...

Use your coupon on Stalingrad. If you can afford Thunderer with coupon that means that you are around 190 k coal. Without coupon Thunderer is 60k coal more expensive.. 60.000 coal can be earned in 2 months without much effort. WG gives a warning around 2 patches in advance..Coal is much easier replaced then steel.

This is the main fault with this event. For the main prize, a free T10 per camo, you need to grind ( ok) and need both luck ( have 3 cv missions drop from crates, and either have or willing to buy the Graf Zeppelin (B). Otherwise spending 7500D to win a free camo that stat wise is purchasable for 5k is also..special.. So either reset your goal or be disappointed if you want to win this round without paying..better don’t play.. Or you hope to get as much out of this event like CV’s with perm camo which requires grinding, rng drops an then more grinding for the actual cv and then a bit more for the permanent camo... spreadsheet says you have fun!

Lower coal ships have never been removed. For coal, JB and Smolensk were the first. For steel 3 ships were downgraded to coal and have just to reappear again. As for the current coal ships, they are either newly introduced as coal ship or older existing “ cash” ships that got a second life being available for coal. Many of these cash ships were given away as event ships for free too. Currently that could mean ships like Graf Spee, Warspite , Hill, Sicorro, Mikoyan etc.. that either have been given away many times for free or are either created to accompany a event as the “ low effort prize” could end up as coal ships.. And then we have the category of premium ships of T4 and lower that WG has rather abandoned for now but still exist..

Always difficult to plan in advance... Even when informed several patches before you do not always have time to compensate. Saving your 25% coupon wisely is a good step but does not always give enough breathing space. Especially when soon to be removed ships are using the same currency.. like Jean Bart & Smolensk last time... Currently have the same choice to make now. Either Bourgogne or Stalingrad. If I pick one now and the other goes “ out of shop” I will never make up for the required steel in time.. even with a new coupon in december.Only way is to delay the purchase, sit on my coupon and only buy one of the 2 when WG declares one of them to become unavailable soon. If both become unavailable I will be screwed regardless.. Guessing that Stalingrad will be the first to go....but would enjoy Bourgogne more.. With coal ships I am in a more comfortable zone. Yoshino, Marceau and soon Pommern are all relatively new and the only ones still missing In my harbor. But with the arrival of 3 former steel ships I can imagine that WG will remove some coal options... From the higher tiers I think that Thunderer And Georgia are the most likely ones...

Meh, I think shipyard event is ok, but again so soon? And in combination with snowflake event...And again you need 3500d minimum. And now it’s a cruiser (T8 BB value > T8 CA value) for a fake US boat this time. Well not interested in research points so will definitely not buy the 8k doubloon start if that is offered this time. And 100k FXP is nice, but not T6 premium nice.. As for the snowflake event: SC drops are nice but seem to always have miserable drops...and don’t have that much T10 around ( re-researching 3 of them currently and FXP ing them will cost me more then the 100k FXP mentioned from this event.. Would prefer coal/ steel rewards though. Hope that the lower tier crate can drop coal.T9 prem camo is nice since not many of my ships at that tier have it. But I hope it’s more likely to get then the “ free T10” camo from the German cv event.... Well atleast I get some oil for the clan from all the crates

I have the same choice to make. I am just 800 points short of Ohio and decided to pass on Siegfried for now. While Ohio is not that great (think Georgia and Thunderer are both better) i have both Agir and Odin and dont need just another german premium. Siegfried is cheaper on points though and requires only to research projects finished (+ the 10K startup bonus you get) Colbert? lol no...

What makes the old T7 Belfast so good is that it had the 5th module slot at tier 7 (so 99% choose concealment) which makes here have a very good concealment that most tier 7's lack compared to their higher cousins. Belfast T8 has a good concealment too but not that astounding compared to her peers.

Well if you have to ask us that question you have no clear "love" yet set on any premium ship that you just want to have...Maybe because you have not yet that many games under your belt that you found your comfortzone with a certain shipclass / nation. Atleast know that those doubloons wont go away anytime so unless you are really interested in some ship spent it on small expenses like premium, 25 doubloon for a 3 skill captain. Not spend it on silly things though... But if you want to indulge yourself on a fine higher tier premium ship use the 25% discount coupon on your most expensie premiumn that you are inclined to buy... if i had 35K D they wouldbe burning in my pocket too and I would spoil me with atleast one high tier ship (with coupon)...But once again make sure you dont buy in a hurry too much and waisting it on a ship that does not feel right for you.

What’s the current status of World of Warplanes? I understood it was always the smallest one of the 3 games and declared dead many times. It’s still there. What’s the precise status. Never tried it before..might but not when it might be dead next year..

This reminds me.. Agir vs Odin..Both torps and sonar. One way more tanky, other has better HP. Same gun setup. One can be had for “free” FXP. Is their an overlap in gameplay? I mean if you can get the free Agir, does Odin bring something meaningful different to the table? Would you buy Odin for full price afterwards..? 3500 doubloons is fine ( did the 8 k doubloon myself) But 10k like any T8 premium...

Yoshino is way better then Azuma ( armor is better and she has torps) Regarding the torps though...don’t be that guy that ends up pink after playing the Yoshino

Final status : Got all containers available from the 4 missions, daily drops, the 2 weekend missions. Only missed the 2 twitch missions rewarding a total of 2 containers. Bought 6 premium containers ( stupid me) Got both Weser And Rhein. Also got both premium camo’s that come with them. Playing the 2 cv’s made me a bit better in them..( last Rhein mission was 65k dmg) But CV game is so not for me... Ofcourse did not get the 600 tokens for my free Tx permanent camo... Conclusion: spent 20€ and had to do a lot of” not fun” farming ( had to play a lot of German and cv) for 2 ships with” free” permanent camo that I will not play much ( snowflakes only type of ship) nor advance further in the line ( have all T6 cv and left them at that).

The downside of Mass is that you need a dedicated US BB captain. Yes you can pop a “ standard” Tank build captain in it but then you would be better of with Silver NC or even Alabama. To make Mass work you do need a 14 pnt cap minimum which will be a different setup from his basic US captains.. Odin can function well with “standard” build German tank but can also work with Bismarck “ 2ndary” build.

I would advice yes. Economically you can’t buy better for 3500 doubloons. Even with a possible discount on other ships...But having an economical good deal does not automatically mean that you will enjoy your purchase.. Even with its much debated low healthpool it’s a solid ship but errors made are punished hard, so people that go without checking the map will find themselves back in port soon. Sooner then what they might expect from a German BB.. And smart enemies can counter your guns quite well.. So I think for 3500 D it’s a good buy, it has the style that you can enjoy but requires you to have a good grasp of tactics. To be successful ( scorewise/ winning) you also require the red team to allow you to be successful in it. My main problem is that it is a fake boat...but she is not the only one... For comparing it with the other German BB’s I think Scharnhorst has lost much of it glamour due to newer ships, PEF always was rather mediocre ( but not that bad, although some players dislike it) and Tirpitz is not that much better since her 380’s have their limitations as well. Tirpitz does have a rather sizable HP benefit though.

No, the reward for ITA collection is the Special admiral. And these containers are way more expensive. The special ITA permanent camo for the silver T5-T8 were bought during the event in exchange for tokens.

Yes, agree! Would love to have a second shot at some event camos. WG has shown to be quite inconsistent. Fe the Victorian camo for UK CA is still an option to buy directly. You can buy the gold/ white the same way as you can buy the regular permanent camo for these ships. But for some reason the ITA special event camo is not available in the same way. Would love to have the Italian perm event camo on my higher tiers as well.

IFHE for the regular 203’s is not advised. Henri VI with its 240’s used to have IFHE usability. So might still be also usefull for the 234 UK CA’s too. But not sure how much the IFHE rework changed the usability of IFHE in combination with 240’s/234

I can’t get the bombs to work. Having difficulty of finding the distance for setting up the bombing run. Torps are ok, but due to dmg almost irrelevant. Rockets are ok to set up but requires a suitable target.. Congrats on receiving 2 cv’s!
