For the participate mission 14 days. It’s a set of 3 missions with 2 giving containers, one a different award and the final reward being the 3rd container. Its tier 8- 10 only. First is 22 fires, one x kills, the other is also not that demanding. Coop makes it easy. You are not supposed to get 16 containers in one event. You need atleast 2 KOTS moments, but 3 or more are reasonable. I only got 6 out of 8 last time. Probably will get 6 this time. Will have to wait 1/2 year for next KOTS event to complete it.

@Wargaming - Captain rework feedback - BB Secondary
Jvd2000 replied to Defianted's topic in General Discussion
If WG increases the range of all BB secondary range towards something in the range on the better Battleship nation then it will not change much. Currently the Germans have pen buff ( option on saving on IFHE, although it will be a 2 pointer from now on) and some US ships a accuracy buff ( saving the manual accuracy captain skill). French have range but lack benefits. Furthermore their guns ( ok the 150’s are ok) are to small in caliber. So just think about all nations receive French like range. ( who goes fully secondary on French anyway.. maybe creating fires instead of raw damage) Japan: most ships have quite a number of guns. Kii might be fun due to the special pen rules. But getting close is not really jpn BB style. Mikasa with one more km range... UK: few guns, low calibre. Nah.. maybe old Warspite fun... Soviet: Not that many guns, low calibre on low tiers. Not brawling ships. Italian: nah USA ( the former not 2nd buffed ships) : limited nummer guns, low calibre. Ok’ ish. So getting more range does not make all ships viable platforms. The only big difference might be that lower tier ships get better range too.. So players may build a 2nd specced Konig or PEF. -
In total you can earn 8 KOTS containers this month. One from the 15 daily random containers in the Armory. Atleast start the game and unlock your daily free item and you have your guaranteed KOTS drop. Three containers from a series of missions that you have to unlock by clicking on the participate button on the newsitem mentioned earlier in this topic. Two containers unlocked by the code unlocking another series of missions ( these missions require pvp unlike the previous missions) Two containers you receive by watching the KOTS finals if your Twitch account is linked tot your WG account. Each KOTS containers contains one element for your KOTS collection. You need 16 to complete it. Duplicates can be exchanged 1for 1. This is the second time this event is live. In theory you can complete the collection if you received the maximum of 8 crates during the first series and get the maximum 8 containers this round. If not, you need another KOTS event. Final reward is a random T7 premium.

Don't forget to click. (Free daily gift)
Jvd2000 replied to Migantium_Mashum's topic in General Discussion
Good post, the other daily rewards were more upfront in your face in the main screen screaming click me for free goodies. Now no special notice in the main screen but you have to open armory ( without any notification that there is something extra to get) to get your daily random drop. The random factor I don’t get by the way..what’s the benefit. -
Well my advice was not so much against Pommern ( I don’t have it yet, due to lack of coal and not wanting to pay money for something that I can have free in half year) but more promising alternatives combined by the fact that I already having many German premiums with the ( semi) big gun, sonar, torp combo.

My priority would be ( strongly collecter minded): Thunderer first, then Georgia when your new coupon comes at the end of December. From collecting POV: These are the 2 oldest coal ships and first to follow JB and Murmansk. Thunderer is considered near OP so might be the first to be withdrawn. Pommern is quite new. For actual gameplay: Thunderer is strong, you either BBQ ships when they angle ( mainly BB’s ) or AP pen them to oblivion if they don’t. Accurate rewarding guns. You do the work, this ship rewards ( most of the time). It’s not foolproof armor though. Georgia has the same good guns AP wise, also accurate although you miss 2 barrels. Your speed is near DD madness. Your secondaries are fun but considering the tier requires a lot of points to be invested in for them to be more then just fireworks.. Pommern, while the armor and torp/sonar combo is nice, I dislike the unreliability of the guns too much.. And I struggle from too much high tier German premium goodness..Odin, Agir,Siegfried, Pommern...with Tirpitz also around...with every extra ship some of the value diminishes of having that additional extra ship...

I bought the required 2 stages for 3k doublouns now. You need to buy 2 stages anyway IF you have your mind set on getting this ship. So main question are you willing to pay money AND do some grinding to get a T8 fantasy ship? If you do and you know you can do the grind ( which is quite easy to do with a forgiving timetable) buying the 3k pack now saves you 500 doubloons later. As I said I am set to get the ship and thus “ saved” 500 doubloons by getting the 3k package and used my free doubloons from the anniversary for this ship. Finished my second phase today so the grind is going faster then needed.

Well the only selling point for the R- class are it’s 15 inch guns...at T5 these guns would be special ( if not nerfed to oblivion with very bad ww1 type shells AND long reload AND crap dispersion) and we can have a UK BB with original looks with the old masts. So a revenge class at T5 with some effective gun strength remaining while being slow ( more T5 are slow) poor aa even for the tier but slightly better armored then average..But then she has to be comparable with the normal line Iron Duke although that one has the fake fantasy upgrade. At T6 she has to compete with QE and Warspite...she will lose on speed and AA. She does have a bit different armor though.. maybe twink her around the supercharged shells... But maybe better to build her around T5 in 1920’s version with poor AA but strong guns for her tier that even matched against T7 can still hurt.

Well longtime ago I made a rather sarcastic post regarding the possible arrival of Strasbourg as the uptiered sister of Dunkek... More armor, more reload, bit better sigma maybe a bit more aa..seems that T7 Strassbourg is already on its way...Even Thunderer once started as a LWM joke... Still a bit disappointed that one of the most numerous battleship class is still not represented in this game. The R(evenge) class BB ( the Lidl QE class) would be nice at T5 or T6... ( preferred T6 looking at how WG is intending to butcher the Oklahoma just to fit it at T5)

in addition purchased premium or freemium ships also come with the snowflake. So a bought coal, steel, RP or FXP ship also comes with the appropriate bonus. And the ones bought with hard cash naturally...
-
@YabbaCoe Does WG have a policy concerning a withdrawal warning period? JB and Smolensk were put on notice 2 patches(?) in advance before actual removal. But even 3 months can still be too short if you already recently used your coupon and a large amount of the currency on another item.

I got 1500 steel once, some time ago. But looking at the sc results from the anniversary steel is a rather seldom drop. Yes it drops but almost as rare as premium ships and the larger doubloon drops. i went into this anniversary with the wish of atleast one steel drop. Did not happen. When receiving a sc don’t count on either steel nor ship. If it does drop, just be happy you were lucky. Doing dailies is a more reliable steel income ( although lot of work) then gambling on sc.

I agree that normaly ships have priority above “ special” captains but the new changes considering captain skills will increase the value of having special captains. The fact that you can set skills to captains for the 4 classes separately makes the benefit of having such special captain more valuable. Instead of having Lutjens ( as an example) skilled for either cruiser ( for its mb reload proc) or 2condary BB you can have all. You can have a set for all classes on him without constant respeccing. Next to that with the new max of 21 skill points you want to invest that effort to get that precious 21 skill set as smart as possible. So having a special captain that can handle most premium ships of his nation at the highest tier gives you a strong advantage.

With a steady coal income you can buy one expensive ship each half year with your discount coupon. That discount does not work in commanders though. That leaves you ( each half year) with enough coal to buy a cheaper item where the lack of a coupon does not feel as a waste. Or commanders were coupons don’t matter anyway. edit: think that monthly coal gain of 30- 40k from dailies and daily crates is reasonable with low effort. Then you have additional event coal. Thunderer would be my first pick since it is considered a bit OP and might go the way of Smolensk/ JB. With remaining coal you can pick up the lower tier ships ( T5-T7) to make sure they will not drop in a crate afterwards. FE if you are in the race of the free KOTS T7 premium ship you might consider to buy the T7 polish dd for coal first as to eliminate this ship from the random drop pool.

Quite nice premium ship drops (+ steel), but out of how many crates, just wondering?

Next to grinding your T10’s for SC and doing your directives for the dockyard event you almost forget that there is also the “ Five Epochs of the Navy campaign” around. As a premium ship owner I am a bit saddened by the requirements... the first series are T2 -T4. Playing these tiers does not give you any progress towards the Dockyard or clearing snowflakes...The work is not that hard either if you only focus on the first 3 missions that can be done with any T2/T3/T4 But the more specific missions require you to play a select group of named ships.. But with exception of Dreadnought no premium ships are included..you either had to have these old Silver line tier ships in port or just for this event buy them back.. I remember that for one of the first snowflake events WG made a special rule that premium ships below T5 came with a snowflake.. I am a bit at a loss why WG did not add premium low tier ships towards the required ships for these missions..atleast that would have gotten a bit of profit with these ships rusting in port... I don’t ask for premium ships only requirements but why did you not add additional premium ships in the pool of ships that are required to finish a mission?
-
I would advise to use your coupon on the steel ship even if this means not buying your coal ship now since Yoshino and Marceau are a bit more expensive. So either Bourgogne ( would be my pick) or Shiki for steel and then Georgia for coal. If WG does another Smolensk/ JB ( removing ships from shop) I think Bourgogne And Georgia are the higher risks on your list.

Went full whale with FXP and silver. Got 2 more crates but ended up with 50 rusty camo and 25 special flags that give 50% extra credits.. In theory I can get one T10 coal or steel ship for another SC. 15 crates in total: Cheshire 2x 1 k doubloons 1x 7 days premium 7 x 50 camo 1 x 50k FXP 3x 25 special flags A bit too much camo, luckily no normal flags, premium ship is very nice, 2 k doubloons funded dockyard, 7 days camo goes on the existing pile.. But quite happy, would not dare to reroll the results. Would have liked steel, but never thought I would receive a premium ship out of this. Now busy working through the T8 and T9’s.. a bit more then 15 ships..
-
Well played Sheshire for one coop game for her snowflake.. It was not that bad, only got blabbed once Picture added to show the most glorious moment in my wows life.
-
The dockyard event looks a bit harsher requirement wise. The option to save 500g by purchasing the 3k initial starter set is nice. Especially if you have some doubloons dropped from sc farming..while no intermediate premium ship dropping ( like Graf Spee, but I think most already got here so only silver compensation) the 100k FXP is nice. The RB points for excess bought fases is laughable though although you can get early access to RB by gaming it. The 17500 coal is nice as are the other rewards... With a timeline of almost 2 months its doable without too much stress, but you might force yourself to do coop quite often to keep your sanity.
-
Just 14 SC. Have the FXP to hurry up the regrind to unlock more T10 but not the silver since I bought and equipped 2 T10 already. Main prizes: T8 UK cruiser Cheshire, 2k doubloons ( enabling me to buy the 3k dockyard package without opening my wallet) 7 days premium. 50k FXP. Remaining drops were special flags only and 4 x50 camo’s. Doubloons were wanted ( due to keep Anchorage free) would have wished some steel, FXP compensated me FXP ‘ing the last 30k towards Henri VI. Cheshire came totally unexpected... surprised I did not receive any non-special flag.
-
Got HMS Cheshire...But no ramming flags
-
For normal cruisers not really a thing..but for those T9 supercruisers with their BB burntime thing...it’s a painful nerf...( maybe intended since now just try to enjoy playing your regular peasant T9 cruiser vs the master race T9 super cruisers)
-
The most hated skill I see for now is the “ camping BB sniping buff skill” Getting that 10 % dispersion buff as long as there are no red ships visible within your normal concealment range... Atleast they removed the 350 extra hp skill as an option for BB players...less frustration of seeing noobs sailing around with that...
-
Well no change then, they are rusting now since the aa/ cv changes :)
