Thats the risk of Black ships.. most of the time you can get them slightly cheaper then their normal counterparts. The droprates in their "black loot crates" are rather good. And compared to their "regular ocunterparts"the droprate is better since their are now low tier ships in the loot pool. So all that discount comes at a prize...you get ships that are like their regular counterparts but...unlike them they do not clear the chance that you wont get the equivalent normal ship the next time you are to receive a SC or a premium loot crate. I have 90% of al premiums, none are black. I would be extremely upset if WG decided to include Black ships into the regular loot pool of the game. If you buy the Black ships you get a discount but have the risk that you end up with the regular ship. If you buy regular, you wont get a black ship unwanted. So buy regular ship, no risk of ever getting the Black duplicate (as long if you stay away from black lootboxes etc) , buy a Black ship, RNG can screw you by giving you the regular.

Based on information after 2 seasons to draw conclussions from: Each round gives a max of 8 containers. 2 from Twitch watching --> requires you to link your account to twitch 1 from daily reward drop -> during an event (does not have to be related to KOTS) a KOTS container is a daily reward for just opening the game and receiving the daily. 5 from missions (this season 3 were both co-op/pvp viable, 2 were from a mission code that only were achivable by pvp). The PvE missiosn were hidden under a "participate"button in news...the PvP only crates were requring a twitch released codeword. although that code was shared on the forum. to get the crates you need to be quite aware.... especialy that "participate button is nasty...

That means that you have all the available ships? Since i thought that you cannot get doubloons ( aka the reward for a random ship that you already have) before actually having all possible drop options in port?.. random container will pick a ship you dont have instead of rolling random from all available options and maybe getting you a ship you already have in port?

You could have gotten Blys for coal before in the armory. Then you would have received a ship not available for free ingame currency.. nevertheless, its juist good to see you enjoy her!

Yep, but 1500 tokens cost 1000 doubloons... so you can calculate yourself how low WG values our grinding time... another ploy by WG to make us draw our wallet because people will rather pay then do some weekend grind... WG profits: increase the grind and offer a monetary escape...maybe some players will do the hard work but most wil buy off WG... And it will only stop if we stop paying WG for it and just tell them where WG can put their tokens.

The main possible benefit is that, and only IF WG repeats this mission on another weekend and IF you go on full grind mode you might get enough extra tokens to buy the 4th package. Before this weekend surprise the missions only gave enough free tokens to get the first 3 packages that gave flags and camos. Now you get a chance to get nr4 which gives the ( ugly) permanent camo for the Kansas. So you , in theory, save 4K doubloons... in theory because imo no sane player should have ever wasted doubloons ons this...on the other hand I have seen enough Minnesota’s sailing around...

But you can delay receiving the container. Don’t finish the collection by not using duplicate collection items to buy the required missing ones..

Indeed, I was lucky that I received the 5 step version. Unfortunately the mission only came available after I almost finished my game on Friday. Will therefore not complete more then 4/5 phases and thus miss out on the real heavy meta reward of 1050 tokens.. Would have been much better of with the 3 step version.

I was lucky to play premium ( so 3 missions unlocked at the same time) and was leveling pan EU DD anyway. But most stars were gained by the more generic missions. Did invest ( by FXP) to upgrade the regular pan Eu DD tier to the required level. Having Friesland helped too. Did not buy any other premiums. Initially focused on the 4th reward ( 500 steel) but after reaching that after 3 months I went to complete the campaign. Admiral sits in Gryf unused, but atleast I won’t have to spent coal...

Seems there is a bit more generousity on the side of WG... we have a weekend mission requiring us to do more grinding in the form of base xp with tokens reward. A total of 3150 tokens extra can be gained. But that requires you to get over 25k base xp in 3 days. And almost half of the potential token reward is to be gained by the last 8 k xp.... But in the end it does offer the chance to get the 4 th sequential bundle for free ( if WG offers the same in the other weekend) . After spending 12k tokens on the first 3 bundles ( 12k tokens that can be gained from the regular mission chain) the next bundle offers the Eagle perm camo for the Kansas. That one is 6 k tokens... That still a hell of a grind but atleast makes it possible to get that permanent camo without spending real money but instead paying with your life hours... For me, I will go light and just get enough tokens to secure the third flag package and maybe some extra silver..

Warships had some grindy events in the past but these events were once in a few patches and not the continues missions/ events at the same time. Missions that have such specific requirements ( ships/class/ nations) that you cannot work at multiple goals at the same time. So it becomes more timeconsuming. On the other hand many missions can ( and sometimes should be done) in co op and a lot of RNG based missions have been replaced by just do this a lot of time type of requirement. The rewards have been turned down a notch. Or if the reward is still great you are directly forced to spent real money as to complete or to bypass the most ridiculous requirements.. So.. 1. too many events and even multiple events at the same time... 2. Maybe more easy ( less skildependant) but more grindy and timeconsuming missions. 3. The replacement of the old “ either you grind successfully and get your prize” vs “you do not succeed with the grind and thus get nothing”. No money shortcut possible...except maybe playing premium... but not that you can outright buy your way through the event. 4. The rewards... in the old days we got rather good rewards.. from a stingy Emden or a Dreadnought up towards a random T6. Now the rewards of T5/T6 are the intermediate rewards and almost all are rather mehboats... the big reward prizes are hidden behind a semi paywall. So for me my stand on the current 4 (!!!!) events. Currently going well with the dockyard event. I started the last cycle with a one day delay and have 16 or so days left to complete the 6th round were normally I only needed less then 6/7 days... But it does require me to play a select number of specific DD’s and cruisers since I focus on a few missions only and selected that the DD and cruiser type was the most efficient. Bismarck camo? Ignored, playing German ships does not match the dockyard requirements. Epoch. Last mission round, have the most generalistic missions active. Not in a hurry. US battleships... Currently cruising through second fase. Missions are so generic that achieving them is not a concern... looking at the 3rd and 4th week the grind goes up to max... Not sure if Kansas is worthwhile.. will probably drop...but I will be pissed to miss even this very mediocre reward So looking back.. am I playing a game or am I working my [edited]of to find loopholes to cut some corners and try to find some synergy in the missions..

After the disappointing Hipper (not that bad but just meh) I am really enjoying the Roon. But where the other national cruiser lines* the tier IX vs tier X means a different type of ship character the Hindenburg seems to me a Roon+. Extra set of good guns, more HP, extra module etc.. just in all a clear upgrade with exception to the concealment. As for MM tier X the matchmaking seems to be much better too. I really like the Roon and i will keep it (because of investment of premium camo) but compared to her bigger sister there seems to be no real reason to keep her? * The Neptune is different the the Minotaur, DM plays different then the Moskwa. Henri IV has way larger guns then the tier 9 Frenchie. Both the Baltimore (and the future tier 9 US CA) is a different kind of beast. Maybe only the Ubuki and the Zao are comparable as both being identical and a clear upgrade.

The 3rd and 4th week missions are already much more grindwork. So I doubt I even get the Kansas and more then the first 2 packages of rewards... and not that much interested to work my [edited]of again for an unstoppable amount of continual events.. Not interested in the ship nor shipline.

Some Dutch ships for me: the project 1047 large cruiser/ battlecruiser. The seven provinces class cruisers in its original gun configuration setup. Maybe an Admiralen class dd with scoutplane as special gimmick.

Just a mere 15k doubloons, you won’t get a T10 for that. Think this is going to be Porto Rico madness. 24k doubloons in combination with a reasonable grind. With the captain as a bonus. I only hope that they won’t downgrade the ARP Yamato like the AL T9 Sov. Soyuz clone being a clear downgrade copy.

The Nachi grind was the 20 kills of 4 nations with the Russian boats being the difficult one, also because you had to be T8+ and Russian cruisers and DD’s ( dd’s were before Russian cruisers) were in short supply. The Takoa “ only” required 50(?) victories first at T9 minimum but soon nerfed back to T8. All pvp.

Meh, have to be careful. Always wanted my ARP collection complete. Maya was the one I missed the most due to carnival! But ones again lazy paste copy work by WG. Even if I have both regular Atago and Takao. Maybe I might still shell out real money since I got all the other ARP ships when they were still free and WG did not demand your 24/7 grind dedication to get something ( the old days alas) . Although the Nachi grind still gives me nightmares... The Musashi/ Yamato clone make me less enthusiastic. Prizes go real up at those tiers. Luckily I have the Musashi ( but not the extra other weeb camo) and the Yamato ( with the free weeb camo). Paying gold for camo, Yamato premium and probably the captains will make me cry. Even more if they come in a bloatware version.. But still a welcome surprise.

They will make a very special event with some nice prizes but since WG has to experiment a bit that has to be done on life server the population will be split into 4 groups. Group 1 will get a nice ship ( the T10 Poytr Rikskoi supercruiser) for free with a doable grind ( trust WG) , group 2 will get a snowflake event with containers with a predetermined chance to drop nothing, the third group will grind for the new to be released T2 Brazilian cruiser and the 4 th lucky group will get the middlefinger....

The co op learned a lot from their human counterparts.. Have been in games lately were the bots team lemmingtrailed to one side and leaving one side open up to the players... Happened that I was without an enemy to shoot at..quite annoying when you are in a slow BB and normally already have to compete with kills from the fast yolo dd’s. If the bots move away from then I come up empty handed from a co op game...

Remember that the base permanent camo that comes with the Prinz Eugen is a special one compared with other base T8 permanent camo’s since it has an additional + 50 % captain xp extra that the others don’t have. So for 3k doubloons you get only 10% more credits....and other visuals, but these are then expensive pixels.

And buying Florida has no/ hardly any advantage in the grind nor gives bonus tokens. Like in the Soviet cruiser event buying P. Bogration gave you access to easier missions otherwise not available, extra weekly missions for extra bonustokens ( which enabled you to get Mikoyan the first week giving you even more bonus tokens). . So P. Bogration came with 200% mission and assured bonus tokens that gave me an assured extra T8 and T9 permanent camo. It eased up the mission grind during the event. Florida comes without any benefits then opening an alternative to complete a mission... My wallet stays shut, no need for a mediocre T7 BB.

Thank you for your answer. Although a sincerely sorry from WG does not take away the bad taste from those effected with the 0 reward version. I am aware that the monetary value between getting the max reward and the 0 option is a mere 150 doubloons, some days premium etc but the mere notion that players are arbitrary treated different is something that is not really appreciated by some of the players.

@YabbaCoe might you enlighten us with the plans of WG since both the setup of the implementation of this experiment ( regarding daily rewards, some players get no rewards at all) as the silence of WG creates some unease with some of the playerbase. Since you have been active today on the forum, maybe you can give us some background? Thank you.

I would be so pissed if this happened, bought Marceau week ago without coupon because I wanted to only buy the more expensive Yoshino with coupon after the 23th of December with the new coupon. And also because I already have the Azuma. My risk assessment was that either Georgia or Thunderer would be the first to be axed..... For cruisers not sure if Salem or Yoshino is older.... Either way I only miss Yoshino and Pommern from the current coal ships and with around 45k coal base income a month I need around 3 months to get back to coal stock to buy it with coupon. Adding you can get coal from events like the 10k from the dockyard... So maybe early januari I should be in position again.. but before 23 of December.. no chance.

And now at the Warships stream they refuse to even respond on request from chat to explain the differences and the consequences about this "experiment"
