That campaign is a side event and primarily an added bonus for the players that buy the Strassbourg from day one. Since buying the Strasbourg is ( if you have a equipped port and time to spend) is rather unneeded you get the added bonus of unlocking the 2nd campaign. By virtue of spending money. It has happened before that silver ships were offered to those that grinder or bought the main prize ship. With the difference that the ones that grounded the ship ( in this case the Strasbourg) hardly have time left to progress. Only difference is that this year you can actually start the campaign and earn stars...and find out that the final mission in phase 1 is blocked. In earlier years it was the first mission that required the specific ship.

Great compensation Wargaming *slow clap*

Nice 5 crates with 2 crates that have 2 premium days on demand. Benefit for the players that normally don’t have premiumtime but can now enjoy 2 x 24 hrs for that 3 rd campaign slot. -
Those are quite normal rewards... base Santa crates have a rather bad drop rate of premium ships. So getting a ship out just 19 crates would be lucky. Being upset you did not receive a premium is misunderstanding drop ratio expectations or misplaced entitlement...
-
Actually not really complaining.. Expected nothing from those small containers. Only flags and camo's. So anything better is a welcome surprise. Got one 30 days premium time but best of all a lot of 300 doubloons rewards...Which is a doubtfull blessing since the eagerness to invest in the 9950D package for the Hizen is getting more tempting...

The missions that require you to do tricks always either compromise efficient gameplay (winning) or efficient farming of the missions. If a mission requires farming xp or money feel free to play as you normally do. If it requires specials co op is your friend.
-
Thus co op is your friend... only thing that is needed is “ friendlies” to understand that they have to stay out of the cap so all can farm defend ribbons... Sometimes coop is just by far better to get progress with these missions. And if you feel yourself to good for playing coop? Well you actually make your own life ( and your teammates) unneeded difficulty by playing sub efficient in randoms since your focusing on other things then just winning.

You need atleast 4 phases completed by cash. You can grind 22 out of 26. But it does not matter if you buy those 4 required at the start or in the end. Look at it as that you need 26 steps. Does not matter if you go from step 1 to 4 at the start with the purchased ones and then complete the other 22 grind steps after that. Or first complete 22 steps and then buy the next 4 to reach 26. Only you get a small discount when you buy the 4 steps at the start. Now you get 4 for 5k if you buy them afterwards they are 1950 a piece... But there is a risk...if you invest in front and then can’t finish the grind...you either lost your investment or have to pay even more...
-
Alone each grind is not the worst. It’s the combination of grinds together with snowflake clearing.. Like when you have a torphits/ dd mission you normaly spam a high tier ship that is best suited. With snowflakes you are guided to remove the snowflakes from other, less suited, dd’s just to progress on your snowflakes. Its the combination of goals and the counterplay between different objectives that makes thing difficult. Best way is to focus on 1 or max 2 goals if you want to limit time spend and not willing to buy off your grind with cash.
-
I am a bit low on cash and have most of these ships in port. Last time we got full silver compensation for getting duplicates of these ships. So that’s 6* 2 m (?) silver added to the permanent camo, port slots and 6 point captains that can be recycled for captain xp in 2021.

Will focus on Strassbourg first and Hizen far far after that. The fact that you can use Hizen in the Strasbourg grind is crazy... will focus on Strassbourg task in a way that is the most efficient. Will glance to see if I can get some progress on the Hizen campaign but my goal is set on the 4 k Yahagi compensation. Also even if the 2 months is nice January is again a working month so not that much time to spend...while mission requirements go up. But if I would go full Hizen I would buy the 9950 d. package for those 10 extra bonus phases. Would be almost the same grind that I am planning now (16 vs Yahagi 15) while receiving some extra phase rewards ( like 2k steel) for those 10k doubloons.
-
You should know the drill by now. WG f*cs up -> Players go full rage —> WG drops some shiny stuff -> playerbase” look shinies” and throws away pitchfork while drawing creditcard and become hamsters in WG grindfest... WG f*cks up again -> etc..

Since a steel ship is not in sight ( bought Bourgogne with the last coupon) it will be spend on a coal ship. Ships left for me are Yoshino, Pommern and Z44. And then Flint and Neustrashimy but they are not coupon discount capable. Will prioritize Yoshino since she is the oldest, most expensive and thus has the most benefit coupon wise. Currently still 40k coal short ( including coupon) but snowflakes will solve that. Then will probably focus spending coal on my last missing special admiral or Flint until I get the midyear coupon in 2021.

Mostly interested into the difficulty level of the coming 3 events ( Dockyard, Mission for Strasbourg , mission for the T5’s) and how they communicate. Having 3 separate events were mission requirements hardly overlap makes things more difficult then when you can kill 2 boats with just one stone. Since Strassbourg mission is timegated and having the Strassbourg is a requirement for even starting the missions for the T5’s means that buying Strasbourg is strongly promoted. You can then get the doubloon value back in the end while starting with the T5 missionchain from day 1. Maybe having Strassbourg already in port opens up some more easy missions to get you through the grind for the Strassbourg too so getting your doubloons back is less effort. The folly will be that I will be enticed to buy Strasbourg and then ( because I will end up with a lot of “ free” doubloons due to Strasbourg and Yahagi refund I will reinvest these in Hizen DY event.. For my own sanity I hope the missions are really easy or PR level of madness ( since I will pass then).

It will cost 1.200.000 "Elite Captain XP" to upgrade from 19->21 Captain points in upcoming change...

Atleast we won’t see these ships with the extra HP perk.... I always get upset/ lower my already very modest expectations when I see teammembers with cruisers and BB having a few thousand extra hp. But also bit disappointed to miss out on my favorite Derpitz player: the ones with extra HP, firing HE from the back, torping their own teammates.. -
Worst BB line in the game: new USN FreeXP turds?

Is the Kansas sigma buff already active? Because I did not “ feel” it. Only played the ship a few times last days but not really felt a noticeable improvement. But grinding through the xp because I want to have Minnesota for the last missions for the free permanent camo event. And I try to save my FXP a bit... Off topic: Minnesota reload or accuracy module? -

Common Makarov is not that bad. Bought one last summer with the nice month long 200% xp bonus. It’s a Nürnberg but with premium bonuses. Ideal to do some scenarios with it although not near my first pick as a T6 cruiser. But WG could have also have boosted the droprate of T5 event ships. You prefer ships like Sirocco, Genova or Mikoyan. Or cheap coal ships like Aigle or Okt Rev? I mean, you can get worse from the premium pool then a T6 cruiser.

Santa containers "rigged": WG Chooses Your Santa Gift Ship

Well since Hill is now a coal ship, receiving Hill in a precious crate drop seems even more bad.. -
Santa containers "rigged": WG Chooses Your Santa Gift Ship
Jvd2000 replied to wot_2016_gunner's topic in General Discussion
Always had the lower tiers drop first. I whaled last year and spent over 200 euro’s on big crates. Luckily I already started with most of the low tier ships and earlier hand out ships in port. But still the T6 and remaining T5 dropped first before even T7 and higher started dropping. Finally the real rare ships and T9 started to drop. If I buy 20 crates now I’m am sure I will get California and the German T6 CV ( as my only low tier remaining ship) first. But looked at Flamu’s video and was more surprised at the abysmal droppable of ships in the first place. Of all the 20 packages bought I only had one that that did not drop any ship. All the others were 2- 6 ships bonanza’s with average of 3-4. Especialy the Mega seems bad. Always prefered the big crates.. For me it’s going to be easy this Xmas. Wallet closed. And not even because this “ rigged” type of drops. While I have the lower tiers cleared out and this preferred drops won’t hurt me, none of the missing higher tiers really attract me. Not spending money for a snowflake port queen to add to my port ( if I am lucky). Have around 15 t10’s but the small crates have a bad drop rate.. if I get any thing usefull out of them it’s just a nice benefit. Might play to get the 4K refund for the Yahagi and save that up. -
Thanks for the heads-up. Having a free t8 camo is nice and the looks can be deleted (and will be looking as a regular type of camo) if you set your visuals to ignore special camo types. As an other (and possible free) way to make the grind even more easy is to FXP the Minnesota (the T9 alternative US BB line). If you got the Kansas out of the earlier event and played some bit you need up to 160 ish K fxp and 15+ million silver to open up the rather easy 5th alternative mission locked behind owning one of 3 ships. (buying Florida or Vermont will be more expensive). The 3 missions with Minnesota, Florida or vermont requirment are rather easy too so you can really cherry pick the 4 missions that you want to do and ignore the BXP and single BXP mission + one of the other mission that you want to ignore (fe the 25 achievement one)

Not much hoping, my options are limited regarding "missing T7's not yet in port" that can drop form a T7 loot container. Poltava --> Fake boat, but while not OP, reasonable because Russian. California --> not great but atleast ship that was real. Maybe in time before new KOTS the following extra ships "might"be added to the T7 pool Munich Strassbourg Flint Florida But thats a big if ofcourse..... So if the droprate is limited to either Poltava or California i am completeley neutral. If the lootpool is enlarged by the other ships....Strassbourg looks fun, Munich a meh cruiser, Flint (only to save me the coal cost), Florida meh... Main reasoning is that i was expecting the Flint to be included in the droppool of T7 KOTS boxes and i was willing to shell out around 100K coal just to eliminate it from the pool. With this prize not that much.
-
Have a bit of a double feeling about these new coal available ships..While it is always good to have more options to spend free currency its abit much. For me the price of Flint ( the only ship i was looking forward too, but just too eliminate it from my potential KOTS free t7 container) is a bit high...might just take the gamble...Having the possibility to buy lazo and DoY for the same reason is a nice benefit though if you want to have a good KOTS drop (eliminating free ships from the drop pool). As for the others: Neus is way too expensive and will be last priority for coal, Z44 will be prioritised before Neus but after Yoshino, Pommern, Lutjens and Flint. (my remaining coal ships). As for Plymouth, Stalingrad takes priority.

Why was 250.000 FXP removed from Research Bureau?
Jvd2000 replied to 15JG52Robi's topic in General Discussion
Converting RP into FXP is very inefficient. Even if you are not interested into RP and you don’t use FXP in the regrind effort its still less efficient then fe spamming a good scenarioweek. And that’s without taking into account the creditsink that is RP. Only reason that wg might killed off the 250k FXP as a RP trade in is that some players after receiving their initial welcome bonus of 10k RP are like” f@ck this” I am buying me the one time 250k FXP and never going to look back... but even this sounds far stretched since what really is just 250k FXP...onetime. -
So the upgrade from 1.5 to 1.6 is like going from aFuso towards Dunkek level of accuracy? But an improvement is an improvement. If only they could shave a few secs from the reload. But with the Kansas buff what’s the gunnery improvement from upgrading from Kansas towards Minnesota now? The only difference is access to the reload/ accuracy module for the Minnesota.

What is your current success with "Always Courageous Collection" (ultimate prize is USN Tier V BB "Oklahoma")?
Jvd2000 replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Reached the required threshold with 11 original items. Missing 5 items but if all drops are duplicates I will end with 11 originals and 20 duplicates. Those 20 duplicates will be changed into the missing 5 collection items reaching the 16 needed to finish. The 31 drops are from mission and daily crates only, no need to do twitch missions. Must be said that this is a collection with minimal interest. Yes I want to finish but only for being a completionist first and from a collectionist POV I don’t want to have the risk of Oklahoma dropping in a lucky crate container like a Santa crate.
