Return of Puerto Rico Dockyard. 33,000 steel as compensation.

How much did PR required us to fork out in the first place? Let’s say the ones that did buy 2 or even 3 boosters? I remember spending 24k ( don’t know if that’s the 2 or 3 booster pack). Add the required doubloons to finish the upcoming dockyard for PR v2.0. I predict this will be around 8 K doubloons. So with about 33k doubloon reward I get my ingame currency refunded. Most I paid for with real money 3 years ago. Still ( depending on reward plus the grind level) an ok deal since I ( probably) will have the required doubloons due to ingame events to get the PR v.2.0. So 33k doubloons is not that generous.

Return of Puerto Rico Dockyard. 33,000 steel as compensation.

The minimum required package bought in advance that buys you just the absolute minimum of required phases is about 4,5Dfor a T8, between 6 and 7 for a T9. So I think the minimum you have to pay for PR v2 will be 7,5 / 8K plus doubloons. With still some grind so more relaxed players with less time to spend might be opted to pay for the larger pack with more phases. Or take no risk at the start, see how far you come and buy the required missing phases at the end for an individual higher prize then the discounted prize at the start. So even if you take steel ( way better then coal or RB) you will still lose out some doubloons plus the grindwork. You will never get steel at a better ratio though. But WG will still win, you get pixels they get real money ( or atleast a dent in your doubloon wallet) . Maybe the doubloon reward is better, you always come out with a net gain ( as long as you don’t have to buy the initial doubloons) without forking money over to wg. Just got the Leone 5k doubloon compensation. Looking at 45 SC to open at the 7th anniversary. With 10% on 1k doubloon in a SC D I might get enough to buy myself entry in the PR dockyard. Still not decided to go steel vs doubloons. I need just a bit more then a year to acquire enough steel( with coupon) to buy one ( cheaper)steel ship. So getting one year of steel is massive.

IJN Light cruiser line in roadmap

A large part of the playerbase preferred the current T8 Mogami in het 155 gun setup. WG tried to discourage this with a very bad gun turret turn rate and promoting the use of the old A hull since it had better concealment… After many request WG buffed the 155 mm Mogami to be a good alternative setup next to the regular 203 version. But it remains a thorn in WG side since the 155 is not appropriate in the line up. And captain skill wise it’s the only jpn cruiser that benefits from IFHE. I fear WG will remove the 155 option from the current T8 Mogami. Like they removed the 457 option from Conqueror. We will get a T7 early Mogami class CL in the new line in return in 155 only outfit but unless we get a dedicated T8 premium 155 Mogami class in return we will probably lose access to the T8 155 mm variant.

Waterline: Roadmap Update – Spring 2022

More interesting: also doubloons to buy any T10? Are there T10 on direct sale? As for 33k steel ( the cv without coupon discount) would be massive. Coal reward would be laughable even if it’s Black/ Neustrashimy level in comparison as would be RB points.

    Puerto Rico dockyard returns!

PR is a bit disappointing as a T10 since Alaska is a very good tier 9,5. That one extra turret does not compensate the better accuracy of the Alaska. But considering the amount of money and grinding that PR cost me I have very few games to show for it.

    Puerto Rico dockyard returns!

The rewards seem nice as an owner. The reward in coal, RB ( both no!) and steel ( yes) and doubloons ( more yes) are enough to buy any T10 Wg claims... Are there T10’s buyable for doubloons? If it’s a large amount of doubloons I will grind as much as sanely possible and buy the remaining part while probably still ending with a doubloon profit. Steel would be even more special (since it’s claims any steel ship that means the most expensive which is the cv and with or without discount coupon) But i paid heavy for the PR so having some cashback in doubloons might be better.
  7. I did not experience a lower coal dropchance in the last year. Always pick the more resource container ( atleast 2 a day, 3 on weekends) and receive the 800 and sometimes the 1200 coal versions regularly. Ofcourse the 400 is more prevalent. Actually with the weekly missions that give the Flag containers I receive quite some additional coal drops from these. Based on only 400 drops plus the 200 coal from daily missions I would end up with only around 32k coal. But actual monthly coal is 45k plus. On average I get a bonus coal drop a day.

    IJN and PanAsia Ship discounts

Bought the T2, T3 and T4 of these lines. Not that I will play them but it’s nice to have ALL ships in port. Normally I only keep T5 and up but that 50% is nice to buyback some low tiers. Although the modules are generally more expensive then the discounted prize.

Which coal ship would you choose?

Flint used to be a steel ship (like Neustrashimy and Black) but got “ demoted” to be just a coal ship. But because it used to be a steel ship and players that previously paid (the way more valuable) steel were upset WG made them more expensive in coal compared to other coal ships of the same tier. I don’t consider Flint and Neustrashimy worth the higher coal prize you have to pay for them. Flint is definitely not double as good as Lazo or DoY.

    First steel ship?

My steel income is low. Just around 15 months to acquire one with a coupon. Mostly earned during Xmas with my T8 and T9’s. My first steelcship.: Bourgogne and never regretted this one. I like BB and cruisers most. And this is almost an BB/ Cruiser hybrid. If you are not a CV/ DD main this is your best pick. My second ship: Stalingrad. Picked because it is the oldest ship next to Bourgogne and I already missed out on Sommers. Way less positive. Had some nerfs. Still solid but requires a more subtle approach. Not regretting the buy but not Bourgogne levels of happiness. Currently at 18k steel so again close to 3rd steel ship. CV and DD’s are out. Plymouth is not high on the list. And between Shikishima and Incomparable the latter seems to be the more special.

Which coal ship would you choose?

In the next patch we will be able to buy premium ships for CT(community tokens) . There will be 3 options. A T2-T4 container, a T5 premium ship container and a T7. All these containers drop a random premium ship from the Tiers that it represents. F.e the T5 container can drop a T5 ship you do not yet have. It wlll not drop a duplicate. Since you only have the Texas it will drop another T5 ( you can check the potential ships it will drop when available) but never the Texas since you have that one. Only when you have all potential drops ( you already own all ships of that tier that can drop from the container) will you receive an alternative reward. From the normal containers you will only get some credits ( very bad option, so always check before so that you won’t waste CT) but there are also premium versions that give you a fixed amount of doubloons.WG changed the CT reward because before players who already had all T5 whaled the containers to get a free supply of doubloons. But because you only have 1 T5 this will not be relevant for you. Since there are so many T5’s that can drop. That’s why I advice to get all the coal T5’s first so you can then focus on the more difficult to get T5 with the CT containers. As for the steel camo…you should not prioritize this much. Better to buy a good Tx steel ship instead ( with discount coupon these require 21k steel+ but it’s worth the wait). This steel camo is better used on a T10 silver ship not on a premium that already has one. ( you can get a Yamato free permanent camo with a collection that comes with that nice 50% cost discount so don’t waste a steel one on the Yamato). And with the upcoming camo changes I would wait with buying any premium camo anyway until it becomes more clear what changes WG is planning.

Which coal ship would you choose?

How about removing the cheap T5 and T6 coal ships from the drop pool first? Instead of one T10 with coupon you can purchase a T7 ( Lazo or DoY) with coupon ( to get some value from that discount) plus 3/4 T5. Next half year you get the other T7 plus the remaining T5 coal ships. Next the 3 T6 coal DD’s. Saves you the frustration of receiving a low tier free ingame currrency ship in your Santa or SC. And the moment you have all coal T5 ships plus Oklahoma from coal containers you can grind the remaining T5’s with CT for those T5 containers.
  13. Two extra collection items. Rest is neglectable. In a positive way it ( might) save me from spending CT on buying additional containers. Currently at 11/18 ( And 3 duplicates) with 3 weeks of missions ( 14 more containers) to go. So 5000 doubloons looking good.
  14. Nope, they are creditwise too expensive to buy and operate. Priority will be to buy 5 T10’s and 2 T9’s that are researched but not yet bought due to silver shortage. And that is next to my current ongoing leveling of the German BC, Panasian cruisers and the Italian DD’s. I will need atleast 300m silver to buy the remaining ships T8- T10. Superships are something’s not for the near future.

    [Results] Easter Egg Hunt

With around 50 eggs a day I am easily cruising towards that 10k coal. Could do that extra effort for that 1 SC… But again all my recent SC have been flags and camo’s. I used to get doubloons on a regular base from SC but the drops seems to be lower recently.
  16. Looking forward for updates then from eligible ships dropping from T5 and T7. Only Agincourt has been new for T5. For T7 maybe Huuyga and Florida? Or Yukon? The containers haven’t been updated for a long time. Which was nice when we received doubloons but now credits don’t look too great…

    comunity tokens containers are back!

I only hope they keep the same CT prize as before. As for the T2-T4 I think the 5k ( alike the prize in CT tokens for the Katori) is ok. Yes you can earn one of the 2 T4’s but you most likely end up with a cheaper T2. You might want to get the Leningrad for 20k tokens. If the T7 containers cost 30k again… Leningrad being one of the cheaper T7’s the lower cost is defendable. Although without doubloon compensation WG could lower the CT prize a bit. For me though there are no possible drops left. Last years event gave a T2/T4 container giving me that Brazilian T2 cruiser copy. Santa crates Florida and Huuyga.( both not even part of the drop pool). So my CT’s are spend to feed my recruits veteran containers although my own container is useless. Recently my recruit got the Mutsu from the seasoned crate version as the last remaining drop. But again: if you want to build your collection ( and want Santa crates to cough up those better ships) buy the cheap coal ships ( T5) first ! You then could try to focus on junior and seasoned crates a bit ( although then also buy the low coal ships that drop from those crates before and focus on the T2-T4 premium crates) as to get rather easy access to low tiers so that you can remove the T5 ‘s even more effective from potential drops. And then start with regular premium T5 containers. While continuing to buy T6 and T7 for coal. Most effective way to get the chaff out of the way. Negative side is that you wasted a lot of resources on low tiers while you might have gotten yourself 1/2 high tier ships..

WG is leaving Russia & Belarus

The only thing functioning well with Wows is the art department and we seem to loose that. Market department is a WG thing so lootboxes etc will stay. If this results in a lower pace of introducing new lines, specials etc… due to resetting development I do not really mind.. I can live with some months with only 100% weekends, simple missions without subs and new cv lines..

    Ships for FXP

You get up to 15 a week ( 3x5 flags) that’s guaranteed 15 dragon flags a week extra then before with the achievement flag change. Plus the 7 of each type each month for doing monthly missions. I see more an increase then a decrease of a low but stable dragon flag income.

    Ships for FXP

The price for T9 FXP has long been increased to 1 Million FXP. Although still less then the required RB value for the 2 T9 RB ships. But then again going full FXP to fund your RB is a choice. If you have a line that your really enjoy ( even if it is less xp cheap then fe the Haragumo) you can rush through by playing the ships. Will cost you more silver but less FXP. I did a BB reset and placed both T6 and T7 through scenarios with massive flags and camo’s. Within 2 weeks of dedicated play I had the extra FXP and credits to almost skip the T8. Although imo FXP ing the Harugumo line several times is the better alternative.. As for RB ships to pick. I have only 3 ( plus the potential RB that I could buy another 2/3 ships with the next reset) Ohio was my first and best pick as far as RB goes. Slava was my second ship and it’s less my flavor. You really need enemies to show your broadside ( or lightly armed cruisers) to make this ship work. Guns hit hard, are accurate but stil “ only” 406 so no overmatch. My third ship was the Colbert. Was the only T10 cruiser at that time and I just picked it because of the extra snowflake “ supercrate” it gave. As for Gibraltar it has improved AP angles. So it’s a bit an UK heavy cruiser mixed with AP only UK light cruiser line. I don’t have it but the reviews are not that good. Will probably still buy it because i don’t have yet a UK premium cruiser ( Cheshire/ Tiger/ Belfast 43 are not that great) at high tiers. Both remaining T10 are DD’s which don’t really interest me so will probably go for both T9 first. So advice: Go Ohio first. Then if you forgo the DD’s, Gibraltar might be the one of the remaining options that fit you. It’s not good, but Colbert or Slava are not that much better. Siegfried could be an alternative but at a tier lower and depending on you having Agir. Although I think that before you go FXP dumping into RB you should atleast own the 3 currently available 1M FXP ships since they are a better buy from an economic pov. Or in your case the 2 cruisers.

    Ships for FXP

Depends on the line you reset. Some are way cheaper then others. DD-->CA-BB. With CV's way less RB reward for one reset. Best choice FXP wise is the 3 monthly reset of the Harugumo line. To receive the RB 2x bonus. Since you start RB with a free 10K RB points and get 1200 RB point a month for doing the dailies you can a t10 after 3 times plus the spare RB left to have another t10 after 2 more. Best way is not to buy ships in between resets but to have the modifier stack. Aka dont buy the ships back and cash in the RB but just reset to aquire another 2x modifier. Reason is that it saves credits since you lose 50% of your invested money in a ship. Second buying the ship back earlier does not do you any favors..Yes you get 20K RB points but you will not be able to buy a ship. Just wasting silver. Currently i let my bonus get up to 6-8 times. Also depends on "snowflakes" when having T10 in ports gives you benefits ( both the Harugumo plus any new bought RB T 10's)

    Ships for FXP

FXP gains are quite high with all the flags, camo etc.. Remembering the grind to get that 750k FXP for Missouri… That 750k then was more grind then 2 million now. A week Narai ( Weimar, Scharnhorst etc) with full camo and dragon flags with just 5/6 games a day earns me 400k +FXP a week. After receiving Hayate in a Xmas crate and the announcement from WG that FXP ships are a dying race I can now use that FXP way more freely. Once in a 3 month period: reset the JPN DD dakka line again and let the bonus pile up to 8-10 times the value. To save credits. Narai ( twice in a 3 month reset period) pays for the research bureau. That leaves my other FXP income free to spend. Rush bothersome T9’s and buy modules. Currently have 6 T10’s and 3 T9’s researched but lack the silver. Could use that FXP to rush my four remaining T8 CV’s for snowflake reasons or completely skip the 3 T9 DD’s. Or just skip that Pan Asia cruiser line T8-T10. But then silver remains the bottleneck. Or reset my research bureau one more time for just a single reward but that seems a waste since I only take the bonus reset that comes in a 3 month period.
  23. You could have done that before. With the Dutch and Pan European lines you could earn the T4 ( de Ruyter) and T5 Visby up to the T7. I levelled both the T7 and started to work up from the T1 at the same time to experience the low tiers. Now with the ITA DD's T2 up to T7 are freely given ( with exeption to the T3 which is behind rng doubloons) i will actuall play T2-T4 less. Maybe one time to have the experience.. But the need to level the ships is gone. Not that leveling through low tiers is demanding.... So with this event the low tiers will get even less time...
  24. I so really miss that old type of patch where you had weekends with a 100% bonus and then nothing. No event, no loot boxes no grindfest…no dockyards. Or a special mission chain. But then only one and not multiple missions, dockyards, new introduction events at the same time… Only playing your games with no subs, no tier 11’s no entire shiplines completely from sekret papers filled with gimmicks to make that line different from the other fake line…
  25. Jvd2000

    Wait what TURBINE

Yes, you got the T4 as a prime reward so you had the privilege to play her a month+ in advance,p. But WG still forces you to buy her again in order to unlock the T5 and beyond. But you will get some silver, an extra port spot and a captain as a bonus since you already had her. WG never gave a token advantage ( skipping a ship) before for prime owners.
