Aye, they only gave me 25 days though and then took it away a couple minutes later. Didn't even get to use it ingame because I was having dinner

*sigh* Whatever. Have fun, or not depending on the game mode.

Can't think of it by yourself? Imagine people could just select to play Domination mode. Now, what's arguable the best ship class for that mode? Now everyone would select that ship class when they play that mode. Now which ship class would be the least appropriate for that mode? People wouldn't select that one. Suddenly we find ourselves with an overabundance of one ship class and a lack of another, utterly dismantling the balancing. Congratulations, you now play a broken game. Another question would be why you don't like the standard battle mode. Do you have a good reason for that?

Not sure if I should be ecstatic, or scared.

No one puts a gun to your head and forces you to play the game. Also, you don't pay money to play it, so there's no self-imposed obligation to get your "money's worth" out of it. If you don't like it, don't play it. But for expediency's sake, I'll indulge you for a moment: what do you think would happen if people could select the game mode they want to play? Hint: it has to do with balance.

Adapt to play well in it, or you do have the option not to play. Thank you.

When happens in soviet russia, you stay in soviet russia.

Just to clarify: I have no problems with how it works. I got myself the free premium for diamonds and everyone else can too. I just find it a bit silly to argue that the mission design's goal would be discriminating players by skill when the required skillbar can be deflated with the (readily available) premium for the not-so-skillful. And people who already pay for premium do benefit in another way already: any diamonds other people might spend on the free premium time can be spend on say the premium ships instead, which ultimately translates into a higher possible reward game compared to those who spend some of their diamonds for the premium.

I know at least one forumite who's going to pop the proverbial cork when he reads this As for the Blyskawica, any word on a possible pan-european faction so people can use/train the Blyskawica captain for something else than just this one ship (considering we won't be likely to see a whole lot more polish navy ships for rather obvious reasons)?

Whilst I do agree with the point, I find the fact you can deflate the challenge via premium to be convenient as a counterargument. Can't get a 3000+ base XP game? Get Premium, now you only need to earn 2000+ base XP and premium bonus does the rest. Mind you, 2k base Xp isn't a slouchy achievement either way you look at it, but calling it an achievement reserved for the better/more dedicated players when a simple expenditure of some money decreases the effective target threshold is a bit ... let's say ambivalent. Now, of course people can simply get premium time for free by spending diamonds, so no real money has to flow, but the basic concept stays the same: you can supplement the required skill with premium. On the other hand, even a good player might simply end up getting unlucky, maybe not be able to play a lot during the event period and only getting bad games when he does despite the fact he otherwise can regularily pull a few 3k+ base XP games. In the end, it's all just convenience and in the players' favour so no reason to complain, but the argument that some missions should be hard to only enable the good players to succeed them is invalid as far as the reality of the implementation is concerned.

Maybe the final hurdle is called a secret because WG did the math and already knew we couldn't meet the target? In which case I'd say: well played you cheeky bastards *raises glass* -

Already did that for the 24hr and 72hr. Afaik my current top base XP is 2300 (thus 3450 with premium). I'll see how it works out for next week and if they really go for 3500 XP and I haven't cleared it, I may go for the 1 week premium with diamonds. Not really looking forward to much more from the treasures apart from the port slot and possibly the Tachibana (which I may just sell for another cheap portslot) and I'm holding on to the remaining diamonds to see if the secret requires some to unlock, otherwise I'll just dump the rest on the remaining premium ships. -

Aaaaand all missions already done. Guess I should play my NO and Amagi a bit to get the next week's t8 challenges done. Should also pass the 3250 base XP mission, but if they really up the ante up to 3500 base XP, I think I'm missing 50 -
Or he just started the IJN BB line and is getting trolled by the insane Kawachi dispersion.

Aye. Sometimes potatos gonna potate. Sometimes you're potating yourself. Sometimes RNG just says "lolrekt, get detonated u scrub". Get salty, log-off, calm down, then come back.

NA will get virtually every Premium ship in the techtree (available for doubloons)
Aotearas replied to MrFingers's topic in General Discussion
What I don't understand is why WG is so adamantly against tweaking the stats of a premium ship when they flat out agree that it's too OP to sell. I get it, people paid money for it so it shouldn't be nerfed into oblivion, but who's saying the ship has to be nerfed to kingdom come to level out the playing field? For example the Yubari got a good hit with the small caliber AA changes and that's a premium ship too. Where was the nerf-immunity there? Things they could tweak would be the detectability debuff after firing, rudder shift, turning radius, speed, acceleration, HE damage and fire chance. They could make all of that match the Gnevny and the Gremy would still be an excellent ship thanks to the longer range torpedoes, though that alone would hardly make it too OP to sell. If WG doesn't want to nerf premium ships *cough*Yubari*cough* then they should make damn sure the ships they sell aren't OP to begin with. And if they end up too OP, then they have to accept the consequence and do something about it. Not selling it anymore just means there won't be more around, but those that are will simply continue being OP. That's not a solution, it's an evasion! Not exactly a solid strategy when WG wants to refute claims of pay to win elements for premium ships, which in turn is only helping to sabotage any ambitions to make WoWs into an esports title! Give people who already owned the ship some Doubloons as compensations if the tweak list is comprehensive enough to potentionally upset people and give them the option to return the ship for full refund (plus aforementioned compensation) if they absolutely don't want to keep the ship after the changes. -

Doesn't change the fact that the situation would only redistribute fail-divisions. If people stopped fail-divisioning, MM wouldn't have to juggle divisions around to compensate for a handful knobends who can't even match the same tier in a division. I get your point and agree with its principle: the matchmaking result is bad. It's just that you're arriving at a backwards conclusion. MM was being screwed over by fail-divisions, not fail-divisions being screwed over by matchmaking.

Does New Orleans have Radar ? Does it trigger "Detection" ?
Aotearas replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in General Discussion
NO does have access to radar, but it should tell you that you're spotted if you use SA. -
And the new ranked season is supposedly t5-t7 ... what a surprising coincidence. We still need a t7 premium BB though, maybe the HMS Hood, yes? Could use that one to sucker out the money from all those who want more british ships AND those who want a ranked-ready BB ...
-
All I'm seeing are two fail-divisions on one team. Getting bad matchmaking in this case is not a cause, it's a consequence. For all the faults matchmaking has, not accounting for the stupidity of the player pool it's drawing from is not among them.

Now this is nice.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Aotearas replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Those enemy CVs must've REALLY hated their pilots. He just kept sending his planes at my Pensacola. I was genuinely miffed that I didn't get enough for a Clear Skies in the end (the changed achievement requirement is bullocks imho) Also had another game with Lightbaron and Hanszeehook on the enemy team. Was my first ever match in the New Orleans, but teammates and RNG worked against me. None of the accompanying cruisers actually made an effort to shoot their DDs and RNG really trolled me hard with that Chapayev ... first salvo was a triple citadel hit, second and third salvo (on a nearly stationary and full broadside Chapayev) hardly hit the same post code and those shells that did only overpenned. I was sunk quickly thereafter.
