Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Aotearas replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Just met von_chom ... sadly MM went to strange places: Game was a predictable loss since no one dared to push and to sub salt in the wound the bloody cyclone (I HATE that stupid cyclone, completely wrecks the teamwork when you can't asist people becaise spotted enemies won't render for you outside of 8km distance, bloody BS!). And there was one charming fellow who felt it necessary to belittle me for pointing out the funny MM ("ROFLMAO, MM had a seizure" is apparently moaning around and being a pussy). Seriously though, WG has to tweak MM a bit because it evidently can't handle divisions and funny stuff like the above happens. -
Magical Games: When RN Jesus Smiles Down on You
Aotearas replied to Hans_Von_Stimpy's topic in General Discussion
First, nice that you're having fun. Secondly and regarding the underlined exclamation, I do hope you realize you're playing against bots, yes? Because 400 XP for a 110k damage game is CoOp battle rewards. -
If in a cruiser: waggle that [edited]. Waggle it like you're Miley Cyrus! You shouldn't steer in the same direction at the same speed for longer than seven seconds. And if you see a ship firing at you, you abuse that rudder, you abuse it so hard it's going to run to WG and complain! A cruiser played like that is incredibly frustrating to fight, because all the squishyness in the world doesn't matter if you can't hit that bloody bugger. If in a BB: waggle that [edited]. Waggle it like you're a really, really fat Miley Cyrus! No really, same thing. Might not help against cruisers firing at you, but any of the max-range hugging wannabe sniper BB players will have a hard time landing shots on you. Also, if you're in a 1vs1 gunnery duel with another BB, you wait out his salvo, turn into when he fires and then turn out again to fire your broadside, then turn bow/aft on to him again so his next salvo will find nothing but angled armor. If the enemy BB player is smart enough not to show his broadside, then you're going to be that devious bastard that deliberately fires at his frontal turrets to try and disable them, plus get the odd superstructure penetration damage in for a bargain. If in a DD: don't get noticed. Don't get noticed just like Miley Cyrus shouldn't. And if some creepy stalker does spot you: waggle that [edited]. Waggle that [edited]like you're Miley Cyrus who just got surprised hugging her Hannah Montana collection and is trying to preserve her bad girl image!

So you roughly shoot a BB three times per match. What do you do for the rest of match? Try to torpedo someone 15km away? Anyhoot, welcome to World of Warships, have fun

And? There is never a need to accomodate the ignorant and/or those who misapproriate symbolism as stand-in idols. Who cares that loonies are using the Imperial German flag as a mascot for their nonsensical delusions? WG needs to stop their blatant hypocrisy regarding the flags, it stinks.

Met mtm78 together with Blue_Bug. Wanted to sink him in his shiny Indianapolis, though sadly our team pushed all the other caps and we were relegated to stalling duty with little chance to push. I had to settle for a Molotov and a Tirpitz and the game ended JUST as I was about to get the killing blow on Blue_Bug's Ranger -
Getting detected by radar at tier 4 game ?

They have. It comes by "Do not fire on your allies!" whenever you damage a teammate. -

Mal schauen ob's jetzt jemand erratet. -
What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Aotearas replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Not flipping my desk considering the kind of mindwarping stupidity I've witnessed today. Seriously, you'd probably melt down your brain trying to figure those guys out, like the dude who [repressed memory] ! -
That wouldn't change much, considering the point he's making is that any lost game he had were lost resoundedly enough that premium consumables wouldn't make enough difference. Paying extra credits to turn a solid loss into an almost win is still amounting to a loss in total, no way how you look at it. If he'd have enough almost wins, THEN using premium consumables might make the difference between a loss and a victory at the end, hence making it a more worthwhile choice. Or at the least that's how I understood his point. And this is coming from a person who is using premium consumables on most ships starting from t5.

Standard battle requires more active consideration than just to race and capture the nearest flag. Which is both its charm and curse depending on the player. Being defensive is a sound strategy, but I've never seen a game being won by the team that simply passively waited in their base unless the other team came at them in piecemeal to get focused and killed easily. Knowing when and where to push is the deciding factor in the game mode, much more so than in domination because you can't trade ships for capture points easily by holding a majority of the caps, every loss is felt harder in standard battle. And whilst it's absolutely true that DDs have lower overall experience rewards in standard battle, that is balanced by the fact that they are the single best ship class to capture points in domination, which equalizes the average XP between both game modes. If anything, I feel the only thing that requires tweaking about the game modes is the frequency at which they are selected. Getting the same mode over and over again in a row is nonsense. It should optimally be an even 50/50 split. And I presume it'd be much, much easier to tweak the matchmaking in that regard than to try and rebalance class performances for a single game mode when on particular class has a significant affinity for that. Alternatively, matchmaking could be hardcoded to not allow more than x ships of the same class and ensure a standard class distribution is achieved, but that would only lead to longer waiting times since if given the choice, I'd obviously rather play domination in a DD than in a BB for example. Plus it detracts numbers from the playerpool for people who want to play either the other mode only, or want to play both (without being railroaded as gap fillers into whichever mode is currently short on players/specific ship classes the player might have selected). Overall making a significant change like allowing the option to play only a specific game mode is wrought with a lot more problems than people might hope to solve with.

Yes, I actually enjoy playing standard battle. And it may come as a surprise for you that contrary to what you're implying, not all teams are just turtling in their base. There's also lemming trains and sometimes teams even find the golden middle and defend when necessary, then push when possible. And what has my personal opinion about the game mode to do with my argument? If you don't like it ... well, you go ahead then and rebalance all the ship classes for a single gamemode. Or do you seriously believe there would be no one thinking "hmm, DDs work best in domination and since I can only play that mode, I'm only going to play DDs" ? Why are people oblivious to this OBVIOUS problem? The other side of the medal here would be: why do people NOT like a specific mode? Is there something objectively wrong with it? Or might it just be that some people don't play it correctly, thus don't succeed and ergo don't get much enjoyment out of it? Could people solve the latter problem by simply adapting, learning how to play the mode, achieve success and suddenly they might like it? Are there any other meta changes apart from the mode itself that change how people play the game, for example steep repair costs which amplify the passive nature of gameplay in a mode that's supposed to be a tactical tug-of-war, resulting in boring stalemates? It's not the game mode that's bad. It's how some people play it. That may be you, or it just may be a majority of the team you're stuck with and ends up dragging you into their imminent demise. It might be the maps who might not be properly optimized for the game mode because it makes specific strategies more effective/easier, or be particularily hard to play for some classes/specific ships. Conversely, learning how to play the different game modes is part of mastering the game. Same as learning the maps. Same as learning different ships. I don't like playing against double CVs much when I'm in a BB or DD. Should I be allowed to simply check a box and never again be bothered by that specific situation?

See, must be true! Anyone who thinks this is a bug is just some uneducated peon who should crawl back under whichever plebeian basement whence they came instead of making a fuzz about absolutely nothing!

Read what you quoted again: "1. The 2-3s delay is working as intended and worked like this since CAT. The icon disappears, you are still visible for 3 more seconds." According to their words, nothing was finally fixed, because it worked like that ever since closed alpha. Yet evidently something changed as you observed yourself. You can't argue that nothing changed with an argument that says it was broken beforehand now it was fixed. Does not compute.

Wahrscheinlich hat der auf einen Verbündeten geschossen. Wenn ein Pinkie Schaden austeilt, kriegt er auch selber automatisch eine vom Server gefeigt und kann davon auch absaufen. -
And this game you did not ask about the MM?!?!?
Aotearas replied to DenmarkRadar's topic in General Discussion
Been having a lot of questionable matchmaking these past days, never got asked about MM. Today I see one of the most balanced matchmaking ever and after that game, the game asks if MM was okay ... smells fishy.- 16 replies
