Duh, hab nicht nach dem japanischen Titel geguckt. Wegen GED, 1988 all the way baby (Serie geht von 1988 bis 1997, es gibt auch einen prequel Film ('Golden Wings') von 1988, aber den hab ich noch nicht gesehen).

Ich hau einfach mal ein paar Anime raus die noch nicht auf der Liste stehen: Serien: 'Basilisk' 'Ergo Proxy' 'Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu' 'Ghost in the Shell: Stand-Alone Complex' (Stand nicht auf der Liste???????) 'Ghost in the Shell: Innocence' 'Ghost in the Shell: Solid State Society' 'Sword of the Stranger' 'The Sky Crawlers' 'Ninja Scroll' Habt Spaß damit, werdet eine Weile beschäftigt sein.

Considering the industry growth and entertainment market penetration for decades now, anime and manga is long since past the realms of being a niche market. Not saying that I don't get and can't simpathize with your argument, just clarifying that the anime/manga market is by no means a minority. If anything it has grown so big that market saturation is already a thing. You may not like it, you certainly don't need to and I wouldn't be opposed to allowing people to opt out of stuff like this if they want to. But the argument that anime/manga is a minority thing is false. At least on the european scale. Can't talk for each specific nation's media presence so maybe you might be correct given your specific location and as such you don't percieve it the same way.

Finally grinded enough credits to buy the Budyonny. Put it out for a spin (two spins in fact) ... each game ended in four kills to my name, plentiful damage (~80k and ~60k respectively) and topped the scoreboard on both occasions too (forgot to take screenshots, duh). I already love this ship <3

To be fair: Would you've worked in absence of a grind? And if yes, would've spend the earned money on premium ships? Quantifying opportuny costs that aren't mutually exclusive is quite problematic as an argument since you're basically just quanitfying the middle man (time spent playing or not) rather than the value of each action based on how you use your time. Not saying I don't get your argument. Some people did grind for the event more than they would've liked and might've wanted to spend the time doing something more enjoyable, but directly equating the theoretic difference to monetary value is a long shot, since contrary to the overly simplified saying: time =/= money, only time spent earning money = money. ... and I just realized I went into lecture mode. If you think that anime/manga is only a minor market throughout europe, I have baaaaaaad news for you.

Afaik all those projects got axed though, because the proposed ships would suffer from inferiour performance compared to standard specialized designs. A half aircraft carrier/half cruiser with only a few aircraft and less armament, armour and speed than a normal cruiser.

Eh, sometimes RNG just trolls you. Had a game today in my Budyonny (actually the first game I had with her) and I citadeled the crap out of enemy cruisers (Nürnberg and Aoba at ~12km distance, slightly angled Karlsruhe at ~6km) but couldn't citadel a bloody Kirov of all things at a range less than 4km even though it was perfectly broadside.

Same here, which is why I was asking if I missed something.

Every fandom has those problems. I mean, just call football "soccer" outside the US. Or start a discussion about which song from a specific band is their best and people from the same fandom will likely start a flamewar. The anime fandom isn't special in that regard. Also, anime gives us cosplay conventions, which is more than most other fandoms cultivate and a big plus in anyone's book!

First victory? Don't the GBN camouflages only add +20% credits (plus the usualy -3% detecabtility and -4$ enemy accuracy when firing on your ship) or is there a hidden XP bonus? Or does the first win of the day also give bonus credits?

They'll likely be given out after the event is done. Because the context that I'm commenting on (the quoted part!) is about people making a fuss about something they assumed would be the case because there happened to be a similar event and people got a ship out of that one. "Gosh darn it, I opened that mystery box and I didn't get a million bucks worth solid platinum DESPITE THE FACT no one ever said it wouldn't contain solid platinum, what a let down!!!". People have to ground their expectations a good bit and not flip out the moment when things don't turn out to be wish fulfilling, sparkly unicorns as they hoped it would, then proceed to kneejerk self-rightiously about how the whole thing is "fake" when the only fake part of it were their imaginary rewards.

First off, only speak for yourself. I for one didn't expect to be awarded a premium ship upon reaching the 12 million diamonds goal. So quite evidently your "all" qualifier doesn't ring true. Unless I missed something, the only precedent to recieving a free ship for completing an event is the Project R event and it was clearly stated that completing that one would result in a ship. To quote the stated description for the 12 million diamonds reward: "It's a secret" Nothing in there says that we get a ship. That's just you assuming they will give one out and that on a rather loose basis I might add. Secondly, I understand it the 10 camouflages are a compensation for the unintended hick-up regarding the goal tracking reportedly having malfunctioned, which would mean we get stuff on top of the stuff we'd get if if we actually reach the goal. You can get premium ships, 11 days of combined premium time, a port slot (more if you simply sell the premium ships), flags and a bunch of other stuff you unlocked either by spending diamonds or simply by meeting personal goals as you earned them. All that without paying a single cent (or whatever currency), just by playing the game as you'd usually would (and usually wouldn't get such rewards!).

No offense taken. I just think the reactions of some people are kneejerks based on confusion about what actually happened with the 12 million goal. And half that blame lies at WG's feet for not communicating clearly.

To be entirely fair, I don't know if anything was said about there being a fifth week mission set or not, so I can't say if we're missing a set or not. That said, I think the reason why the final goal was extended was because a mistake in the statistics engine was a bit too generous with the diamonds count, thus meeting the 12 million goal without players actually having earned all those. So if the glitch/bug/wizard simply put 3 million more diamonds on the list, then extending the final goal by 3 million diamonds is a simple, albeit crude, fix and brought the whole deal back to status quo. In the end, I think Conway's explanation created more confusion than it solved, so a bit more detailed explanation regarding the changes could help

I was under the impression that we met the 12 million deal and will get it, with the 15 million goal only having been added as a lazy man's hotfix to not end the whole event prematurely, plus everyone getting a handful free camouflage as compensation for the latter. As such nothing changed and we got something extra on top of it. Did I get it wrong?

Hmm, I might actually try out Ranked (didn't have high enough tier ships last time), though I won't hold my breath. If it's just like random only with fewer players, it just means that for every competent player's surplus impact, the consequences for being teamed up with oxygen murdering potatoes are equally damning and I think we all know how rare the former appears and how frequent the latter. Also not thrilled that you can't division up in ranked ... seems counterintuitive to have a gamemode with more emphasis on teamwork, yet only seeding teams purely at random ... particularily on the EU server where you can't even count on everyone of your team to speak a common language.

So you think if we get the 15 million diamonds too, we'd get TWO super secret shinies?

So up to 11 days of free premium, a free port slot, free premium ships (that you can simply sell for credits and another port slot), free camouflages, etc. without having to pay anything and just play is not a good thing? Someone here needs to get back to reality and remind himself what he'd get for the same effort without this event (hint: none of the above). Just because the event didn't close on terms with your own entitlement doesn't mean it wasn't worthwhile.
