Well, at least one person that I know that doesn't like the König is a pretty solid player, so nope on that criteria. But that must simply mean he's a blasphemous heretic.
  2. Or very cheeky And as mtm has noted, you already have some PvP games under your belt so you must've switched sometime. But you're getting better XP results than you're saying here (bit less than 800 average XP as per your stats). The average damage *looking at my own Kawachi stats again* ... could use some improvements but it's not terrible so you should be getting rewards anyway and definately NOT losing credits. You must've misread that on the report.
  3. *looks at my own Kawachi stats* I will not comment on that. CoOp is PvE against bots, yes. You can select the game mode next to the "Battle" button. "Random" mode is PvP and yields about five or more times better XP and credit rewards.
  4. 200-300 XP for a victory sounds like CoOp. Though I'm pretty sure it's mathematically impossible to lose credits in a tier III game if you only as much as looked at the enemies' direction with hostile intent, certainly impossible if you run premium and are actually doing some damage, let alone doing a lot of damage. So you're either exaggerating unjustly, or maybe you've misread the report.

Am I playing this game wrong? What is my role?

That's a hard question to answer since there's many ways you can play a cruiser to great effect which are largely dependent on the map, mode and the ship. It's typically not bad for a cruiser to keep pace with the battleships at the start of a match if there are CVs involved. If the enemy tries to strike a ship near you, your AA suite can help either defend, or it could simply deter the strike alltogether (obviously works best for cruisers with the Defensive AA Fire and strong AA). Other cruisers are a better help pushing after the DDs to support them (mainly against other DDs in the initial clash), but you typically want to do that in a cruiser with low detectability so you won't simply get spotted and focus fired by everyone on the enemy team. That's for the starting phase of a game. After that, you really have to play your ship to its strengths and be that annoying lil' bastard that's putting BBs on fire and making small but regular dents into everything (work that dpm!). The game tells you that you're supposed to kill DDs and support BBs, but that's bad advice if taken literally. As you've noted already, you don't have the range to compete in BB style slugging duels. You also don't have the health and armour to charge headlong into enemy fleets to get at their DDs. Playing cruisers is managing a very thin line between being useless and being dead. The best advice I can give is work on that situational awareness. Knowing where to stay clear off and where to poke your nose in is quintessential. That will help you to pick your fights as you want them. Now, the second best advice I can give you is play all the classes (at least a bit) to understand how they play. Know their strengths, their weaknesses and how a player using them thinks. It makes anticipating enemy actions as mentioned above a LOT easier. What I hopefully shouldn't have to tell you, but will emphasize anyhow ... abuse that rudder and speed control like mad. A cruiser that's changing course and speed is annoying as hell to play against. Watch your enemies' guns. When they fire, turn hard to dodge! If you do that, not only will the enemy have a hard time hitting you, but if you do that consistently, they will soon pick other targets to shoot at since they know you're hard to hit and prioritize other ships first. And hide that broadside of yours! Broadsiding cruisers are dead cruisers!

Lovin' the König. Solid range, not great but servicable accuracy and pretty nasty volleys thanks to the higher sigma (2.0 iirc). Armour is okay'ish, nothing fancy and most other BBs will penetrate you at any angle that isn't auto-bounce, but I don't recall having caught a citadel yet. AA is typical tier V stuff, so nothing but special, but it will shoot down a couple planes, which isn't much of a bummer because the ship turns very well. And that reload ... oh yeah! However some people don't seem to like her, so perhaps she's an acquired taste ... or they are simply heretics spreading blasphemy.
  7. Leute, beste West-Anime sind immernoch 'Gargoyles' und 'Darkwing Duck'.

    Hello Minakaze and Kamikaze platoons

    Sink them. Problem solved.
  10. Huh, I always liked the Warspite's appearance. In particular the superstructure looks like it was chiseled out of a rock, akin to a medieval fortress. It has an undenibly martial aesthetic. It plain looks like it's meant to screw up your day. It's a plain look, but it's forceful. That said I also love the sleek lines of the IJN ship designs or the industrial, functional appearance of the german ships.
  11. Well okay, technically it's a derivative from Aiki Juujutsu (which in turn was developed by Samurai), but the system is largely based on one of the Aiki schools. As for it being crap, that is largely dependent on what you want it to do. As a self-defense system, it's lacking because it's too ritualized. Drunken maniacs typically don't adhere to rulesets and won't tap out just because you got them in a joint lock ... that is assuming it's actually a 1vs1 and not the more common 2 or more vs 1. Self-defense systems are generally lacking until you've reached some measure of mastery because the basic mindset is defensive. Though I suppose the only truly effective combat system is just simply eclipsing any prospect attacker in brutal force that you only need to get one good strike in. For that matter, lethal weaponry is the only real deal, albeit the concern of legality make that an entirely different matter. Which is par for the course on this subject, no martial art born from peaceful environments can hold up to learned brutality and efficacy from simple accumulated experience in actual combat. Esoteric is no match to the simplicity of overwhelming force in form of a knife in your chest, a brick to your skull or a bullet fired from a couple thousand meters away ... And with that I've run this particular discussion waaaaay off the track.
  12. That's a sadistic question. There are so many beautiful ships, I couldn't possibly point at a single one and say that's her. Call me indecisive or perhaps a closet-polygamist, but there's so many georgous iron ladies that I can't see the forest behind all those trees.
  13. Also met xenopathia. That match was particular funny because literally no one shot at me. In my König ... and I mean NO ONE shot at me. Ever! As you can see, no tab for potential damage taken. So not only did no one ever hit me, no one ever as much as targeted me. To reiterate: I was steering the König and not exactly hiding. Those bloody buggers just ignored me! The gall of it!!!

    [Suggestion] Naval Yard

Premium port facilities, eh? I've toyed with the idea myself under the shower a fair couple times, with similar ideas (Drydock reducing post battle repair costs, naval academy giving a bonus towards captain XP, etc. pp.). Problem is obviously that stuff would cost quite a handful doubloons if they are permanent boni. I mean a hightier permanent camouflage is 3000+ Doubloons ... for just one ship. Assuming a drydock'ish facility would decrease all ships' repair costs by say 15%, you'd easily look at a price above 10.000 Doubloons considering the mentioned camouflage pricing.
  15. Met xXx_Blogis_xXx in his Hosho as he was busy ... teaching people the necessities of airstrike evasion tactics ... when sailing in my Kaiser. He was on the enemy team and really went through mine like a hot knife through butter. Towards the end he put his sights on me, but I managed to evade two strikes pretty well and shot down a good dozen of his aircraft doing so, so he decided to go for easier prey. I still died and the team lost (despite Blogis having been conviced HIS team was the worse one for the longest time ), but I didn't die to him, so yay! Naturally we proceeded to join forces for a handful games and clubbed s-erm I mean grinded my Kaiser with indiscriminate pawnage ... though as it turned out his torpedo bombers are a lot faster than my Kaiser and I really had to work for every bit of damage I could snatch from him.
  16. Eh, considering it was a system developed for Samurai to use in battle when destabilizing an enemy was vital and really killing someone in full armour with no weapons is pretty hard, it's a rocksolid defensive system. Nevermind how nasty a joint lock can be if you apply a bit more force ... say goodbye to that joint, which obviously is a crippling injury on a battlefield. It also works well in conjunction with weapons, though I suppose that's something most Aikido schools don't put an emphasis on. Though most "martial arts" have become highly ritualized (which is good for sports, but not good for teaching an effective self-defense system) indeed.

Low tir German BBs AA ..... (yes whine)

This is the perfect opportunity for me to tell everyone how my Nassau once shot down two (!!!) Langley aircraft in a game. It has of course zero meaning, but hey; it felt special:

    They come out at night.

I love how the news comment sections are somehow babbling on about crew training, as if this were anything other than a purely visual gimmick.
  19. Not exactly an expert on Aikido, but isn't the system mostly based on destabilizing and controlling the enemy oppenent (mostly with joint locks and force deflection/redirection)? Given the inherent instability and rather straightforward (i.e.: telegraphic) nature of a kick, it's not something I'd expect an Aikidoka to do as you'd open yourself up for a healthy dose of irony.
  20. *hugs* Thank you. I needed that that. That and ONE. BILLION. CREDITS!!!
  21. Not breaking something after a hilariously bad 5 defeat streak, including a 93k damage game in a Kaiser that would've gotten me my first Solo Warrior if only that last salvo hadn't lolpenned my ship's aft as I was frantically trying to angle my measly remaining 4k health to survive the remaining 20 seconds to win by points. And that one Shokaku who was so obviously overtaxed trying to manage his aircraft squadrons and failed on so many levels ... couldn't even use his own fighters that were circling just next to him to defend himself from the enemy CV torpdrop. I mean you'd think even the most incompetent Cv player would scramble all his fighters to defend himself, but even that was too much work for that poor sod. And then he even had the gall to retort "QQ" when I called him out on his atrocious play. Like, zero self awareness that dude. On the flipside, I noticed the Tirpitz is more or less incapable of NOT making a profit. Only managed ~50k damage before the enemy CV sunk me (thanks to aforementioned lack of fighter screen), almost exclusively to the enemy Tirpitz and I still made a teeny weeny bit of profit (would even have made a miniscule profit without premium)
  22. Well, Ramius was a dissident, so OBVIOUSLY Wargaming isn't going to employ him. InB4 someone informs me that Seagal is an honorary member of Spetznaz or something like that ...
