Old WOT exploit is back in WOWS. Still not fixed.

I can read perfectly fine. I can also understand what the comic implies, particularily the last image if you need any help in deciphering what you just posted. It also doesn't change that you have provided not an iota of facts that would support your claim of them breaking any rules and you're more invested in trying to attack me rather than that simple argument. In that regard: try harder. If you're already shooting for a forum ban, you might aswell go all out and give everyone around a chuckle!

Try and insult me some more. You seem to have nothing better to say anyway.

Right-o. You can go sulk in your corner over a couple lost games and accuse people of breaking the rules all you want. Be sure to add some more ad hominems whilst you're at it. You can't have much experience with clans if you appear to be just categorically accusing them of stuff like sabotaging games when the only indicator you have is that there are some people of the same clan on both sides. People typically get extremely competitive in trying to kill the other guys first (since they know they are dangerous) and voice comms are either deathly silent or full with banter. And complaining about teamwork, really? Then again, this is coming from someone who felt proud about ramming an ally out of a careful position because he was "camping" there, only to proceed and abuse the same position for yourself, so I suppose I shouldn't expect much in the way of appreciating good teamwork. This is an extreme example and yes if half or more of the enemy team is skilled players actively working together and coordinating over voicecomms then a bunch of random people not doing the same is a onesided game. That's the nature of teamwork for you. Is it fair in such a moment? No. Does it suck for the team getting steamrolled? Yeah. Should you moan, cry and accuse people of breaking the rules? Grow the hell up!!!

No, he didn't. It is a suggestion and quite frankly one that is not very likely to be true since clanmates on opposing sides typically get a murderboner for the traitor on the other team. Reporting their own allies' positions to the enemy is a lack of fairplay that only the douchiest of griefers do and seeing that on a level such as clanwide is for one pretty rare as far as my experience with clans is concerned and secondly a serious accusation as it constitutes griefing, which is a bannable offense. That said, I don't get what exactly you're complaining about? Is it a suspicion of them rigging games? If yes, the forum isn't the place for that. That's something for support to investigate. And if you're seriously complaining about people playing together ... newsflash: this is a teamgame. Now admittedly, this is a pretty extreme example. But the point remains, those are people playing together. Would you rather have that or a team full of randoms who wouldn't know teamwork if it jumped their faces arse first? Besides, click-divisioning is hardly that easily to exploit, ESPECIALLY when you have multiple divisions trying to get into the same game since the MM tries to balance out divisions, hence most of the time they end up either against each other or in different matches.

    RDF is double edged sword

RU DDs in particular are most likely to profit from using that skill. Previously the major balancing factor against their superiour gun DPM was the poor detectability which gave other DDs the chance to evade them, or at least discourage them from trying to find you since it means exposing themselves to the enemy in the time it takes them to try and sniff you out. Now though ... use 'Radio Location' in your captain, slap on those Sierra Mike signal flags, hit that Engine Boost and just beeline it towards the nearest ship (which is almost guaranteed to be a DD once the game has progressed enough to account for other ship classes in the immediate vicinity) at ~50 knots speed. Even with much worse detectability (assuming the RU DD is not using CE skill, but rather AFT for better utility in ranged fights against cruisers and harassing BBs), it doesn't take you more than a couple seconds to close the difference in detectability if you can just steer straight for the bearing indicator at ludicrous speed. And once you barreled right into spotting range, you simply murderize the living daylights out of the poor sod, then speeddemon your way out of the hotzone away from any hostile onlookers with your ludicrous speed. Might be a bit of a gamble if that prospective target can be another RU DD or a US DD player who knows how to lead his freedom mortars to a RU DD going at Warp 9, but IJN DDs? They just get steamrolled. Not sure how KM DDs would fare since I have pretty limited experience with and against them yet. Which is about the only positive thing I could say about that RL captain skill. Then again I would also argue this could serve better in the game as a RU DD exclusive consumable (like IJN gets the torpedo reload booster).

Precisely. If anyone really wanted a tool for information gathering aswell as potentionally influencing the BB heavy meta to decrease the numbers of BBs, they just ought to incentivice CV gameplay more. They are as hardcounter as it gets to DDs, they punish static BBs just as hard and encourage cruiser gameplay as their defensive AA utility is one of the CV hardcounter (the other one being a competent enemy CV). They had all the reason and opportunity to solve multiple problems at once just by bringing CVs back into the (hightier) meta, none of which would've required adding any BS captain perks. But WG took the lazy way out and rather than putting any effort into properly reworking CV gameplay to make it attractive in playability, enjoyment and with the ingame economy, they just added an opt-in information feed that by all means would be considered an ESP cheat in every competitive multiplayer game that I could ad hoc think of. This is a monumental [edited]-up on the most basic game design level. Simple balancing incompetence and frankly not something I'd expect if we were to assume the developers actually understand their own game.

More like 6 volleys if you happen to run into a Des Moines (40 seconds radar duration and 6 or less seconds reload). Plus you don't just have to evade the volleys for the Radar duration, you'll also have to evade the cruiser. All the whilst not being able to effectively fight it, since you can't get a decent torpedo angle if he just charges after you bow in and if you fire your guns to fight him, that detectability debuff will cause you to get spotted. So you can essentially just hope the guy can't shoot, isn't determined to catch you or dies to someone else before he's chased you to the mapborder. If none of that applies, your only option is to hope you're fast enough to get away from him in a timely enough fashion that you can reengage somewhere else after running away. Cruisers countering DDs is fine. But I think that's going a tad too far here. The main counterplay a DD has against cruisers is the ability to choose how and when to engage if they want to, or to disengage with superiour stealth. 'Radio Location' counters exactly that. It's a hardcounter to the only option a DD has against a cruiser. That or you can hope the cruiser is played by a potato ... which mind you is far from unrealistic as far as expectations go in random battles, but not a solid argument in favour for balance as far as I'm concerned.

*ringdingdingding* K.O.!!! The skill might not seem as broken as it is in the low- and midtiers where ships typically have much less effective tools to hunt down DDs, but in the hightiers, that changes drastically!

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

Congratulations. It will take thirty seconds longer into the match until that kind of information becomes readily available. It's an all-or-nothing skill. You can't tweak an all-or-nothing skill. It's either there, or it isn't.

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

Interesting. Then how come you try to argue against the points I made which are essentially the exactly same as the argument that supposedly changed your mind? And if you have the RL perk, you would know there's an extremely high likelyhood of a ship waiting in ambush around that island. Easily evaded ambush, despite not having had actually süotted the ship. Do you think you'd deserve that too? Or the enemy ship deserving his careful position to be ruined by spider sense?

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

I never said they shouldn't be able to counter them. They already did without this BS skill. But now it's effortlessly easy for them since the skill practically points them towards the right way. Or to argue from the other perspective, it just became ludicrously hard to try and counterplay such ships in your DD using superiour positioning now that a passive, always-on skill is pointing at you whenever you're not hiding behind someone else. There's supposed to be a skillgap that players can exploit to make up for situational disadvantages. And such a skillgap shouldn't be hardcountered by a fricking captain perk! Do you get it?

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

Why would say a Des Moines or a Minotaur need manual secondaries to brawl? You can easily use both CE and RL together and still have 5 skill points to spare. This argument about cost offsets simply isn't true! You what now? So are DDs just supposed to tuck their tails in whenever a ship is spotted? "Oh noes, or cunning plan has been ruined, quick: run away, run away, run away." Or how do you suppose they would fight a cruiser that knows where those DDs are (thus having a ridiculously easy time to evade the torps as he can simply go bow towards the likely spread direction)? If you're fishing for arguments, you could do a better job than to declare magical spider sense as skill and failing to come out on top against one's hardcounter that knows more or less exactly where you are as n00b mistakes.
  18. Aotearas

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

According to my math, that's two DDs that didn't benefit despite not having been spotted (a.k.a. stealthy) vs one DD that benefitted. By counting fingers logic, two guys losing out because of a skill edges out one guy winning because of it ... As opposed to a careless cruiser that wouldn't have turned around to actually try and root out those DDs if it weren't for magical spider sense tingling?

Wait a sec, RPF Is not that game-ending.

For BBs there's lots of better choices, true. Plus a competent BB driver doesn't get much in the way of benefits that he wouldn't already be able to gleam otherwise from reading the minimap and not foolishly going around large islands to avoid ambushes. For DDs however this skill very helpful at match start, extremely valuable information throughout the game (especially when it points somewhere that isn't the nearest spotted ship which is ludicrously important information!) and extremely helpful for anyone who wants to actively force engagements in his own DD; RU DDs hunting an unspotted DD with ~50 knots speed for example as suddenly the worse detectability isn't nearly as much a handicap if you close the stealth gap in just a couple seconds due to your superiour speed and knowledge on where to go to. It's also quite powerful on Radar cruisers as it's easy to guess where a DD would be and if he would be within Radar range when double checking it against the distance to the nearest spotted enemy. It also means you will ALWAYS have your guns pointed in the right direction when you trigger Radar. Furthermore it's also a boon for all brawlers as it helps avoid ambushes ... that one island the skill is suspiciously pointing at is quite obviously just trouble, doubly so if there is an unaccounted ship that would've otherwise been able to ambush you. Or enabling you to counterambush someone, particularily if they don't have the skill themselves and thus no early warning, meaning you can take them by surprise. The skill is obscenely powerful when used correctly, making it a must pick for more or less all DD builds and a very effective pick for Radar cruisers or any other ship that likes to brawl. It's quite frankly BS. That kind of information should be something a player should learn to predict, not served on a silver platter for investing 4 skillpoints and clicking on a button once. It also eliminates some strategic layers such as making ambush plays and positioning mindgames obsolete whenever the skill is involved.

    Smoke abuse bug in 0.6.0.

Eh, he must be slow if it took him that long to notice how enemies can use smokes offensively. Give him another year and he'll figure out how not to die from it.
  21. OH HOW I LOVE THIS SHIP!!! Easily the most enjoyable cruiser grind I had so far. Just a handful XP short of the Edinburgh and the only reason why I'm not heartbroken about finishing the Fiji is because the higher tier ships are basically exactly the same. Next neat game was me jumping into my Bismarck (another ship that I dearly enjoy just for the troll factor of getting right up into people's comfort zones and letting my secondaries rip) after a couple rounds with utterly undependable, cowardly BBs doing whatnot and worse ... so we had to make sure that we have at least one halfway decent BB on the team. Plus we wanted to annoy some poor CV with our AA (mostly our Akizuki which went for a full AA build for that 220 AA dps at 7.2km!) and since Bismarck has pretty decent AA on her own it was a match made in heaven. Poor enemy Shokaku never stood a chance

    post your rpf results

The skill is as disgusting on live server as it was on PT. Even worse is that it defeats the purpose of the entire skilltree rework for some classes as it's simply a must pick, when the stated intention was for the rework to steer away from the optimum must-have builds. Way to shoot yourself in the foot WG.
  23. Random thought that just popped up in my mind: Will we see a rise of more competent bot programs in conjunction with the 'Radio Location' captain skill? Would be a nice side effect if the occasional farmbot could actually track down enemy ships, might make them a bit useful.
  24. Aotearas

    Counter to RPF/RDF

First and prefered choice would be to scrap the skill and remove it from the game entirely. Second, third all the way to infinity-1 choice would be the same as above. The absolut last resort would be to either: implement a radio silence option for ships that allows a player to disable one's radio, resulting in the skill no longer being able to locate any ship whose radio is disabled. Like disabling one's AA/secondaries. Penalties would be that you no longer recieve spotting information from ships that you don't have line of sight to (since should could and typically would communicate via light or flag signals during operations and hold radio silence specifically to avoid being detected by those signals). I'd really prefer this crutch mechanic to simply not be in the game in the first place though. Just in case I haven't mentioned that yet.
