250.000 gold for 19 capt reset / new boat

There's a videogame genre for that: it's called "singleplayer" ... If you however insist on playing however you feel like and damn the consequences for you and everyone else who's stuck on your team in a multiplayer game, then there's another word for that: "egomaniac".

First: That's not gold, that's the amount of captain XP you need in order to retrain it. You can boost that by half for 200.000 credits, or you can pay 500 doubloons (gold) to instant retrain the captain. Second: Why on the seven seas would you want that captain on the tier I Hashidate!?!?

Those poor sods that went overboard to save themselves, the explosion's shockwave in the water probably killed more sailor in the water than it did with sailors that were still on the hull. Nasty!

Yup, sounds like he's complaining about torpedobombers dropping their load 10 meters away from his ship and how it's impossible to evade. No one tell him about the minimum arming distance or that you can actually turn into torpedobombers long before they drop their fishes and thus evade a good number of torps, if not all.

Strategy, Tactics and Cowards playing random battles.

There's always games that you can't win because the majority team has a collective case of sh*t to the brain. Been there, done that, got the t-shirt. Even if it may sound demotivating, you'll get to see that kind of behaviour the more you improve yourself. Mistakes will be easier to spot for you and come a point you'll see mistakes everywhere. Those are the games that you just have to put on your tryhard pants and carry the team. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't but it typically ends up with good results for you anyway if you've done your best. As for shooting in your BB at range, look at it this way: the first target you see might not always be the best. And you may not always want the enemy to know where you are at the start of the game (or at various other points during one). A spotted enemy battleship can be a juicy target, but a spotted cruiser at 14km is even juicier. A cruiser which would've most likely tried to make itself a hard target to hit if it saw an angry enemy battleship approaching, but getting caught broadside in a turn by a surprise battleship? That's an "oh crap" moment right there. Though that particular advice has many facets. Target priorization and positioning is incredibly situational and there's no easy way to teach it, it just comes with experience. As a rule of thumb, since you can only shoot roughly every 30 seconds in a battleship, you want to make those salvoes count. So do take the shots at which you can hurt the most. An enemy battleship at 17km is fairgame if it shows you its broadside, but if it's angled bow-in (because it's also trying to get closer to the capture point for example) you won't do much damage even when you it, so you might want to not fire and see if a more cooperative target shows itself.

Exploiting long range because you can is one thing. Still not hitting much when you should is another and whilst shooting from long range a lot might lower your hit ratio below what you'd effectively achieve once the fight gets closer, your low average damage isn't telling that particular tale. The stats say you don't hit often and when you do you deal little damage. You're doing something wrong. I'd say it's you're simply not being at the right position. In that sense, your teammate that called you out probably had a valid point by way of him criticizing your choice of position and playstyle. Maybe you ought to take your own advice and read the advice of others rather than brushing it off. No one is telling you to ignore the base defence. People are telling you your idea on how to defend is wrong. Standard mode isn't won by defending your base. It's won by either sinking all the enemies or capturing their base. Defending the base is a consequence of the former. A goal achieved by other means (sinking the enemy or capturing their base). In that regard your course of action in battle is straightforward, engage the enemy to the best of your abilities. Your stats show that you have room to improve and I'd bet you that once you think your priorities over, you'll have ample opportunity to improve and that it will help you a great deal. Even in the odd case that you might really need to double back from an attack and defend the cap in your BB because no one else is giving a damn about it.

Wrong lesson learned. Defending a cap isn't done by sitting in it. A cap is best defended by taking the fight to the enemy and have them worry about other things than how to capture your base, like say trying not to get blown out of the water by that battleship. Additionally as has been noted, in a battleship it's not your role to defend a cap from sneaky destroyers. Besides, your base being captured is only an instant loss condition in standard mode and it takes plenty time to capture a base in that mode, time you you have to fall back and defend the base once you notice the enemy is threatening it. As a battleship, your role is to spearhead the assault and use your superiour armour and healthpool to tank damage, whilst using your devastating guns to deal out damage against enemy cruisers and battleships (plus other opportune targets when they pop up). Sitting in your base isn't going to do your team any favours and by the time the rest if your team lost and the surviving enemies are now pushing towards the cap, chances are pretty good you won't be able to defend it at that point anyway, so you've gained nothing for yourself or the team. Your stats are showing how bad that is going for you. Your battleships all have extremely low average damage values and poor hitrates. Unless you can't aim, that would indicate you're shooting for targets at a longer distance (possibly because you're not in a position to fire at anything closer, which would be you being in a bad position!). The low average damage supports that notion, with you simply not hitting the targets often enough to deal reasonable damage. And your average XP is abysmal, which really should be driving the point home that you're not performing to par. Be more aggressive. Once you know where to position yourself to make a good impact on the battle, you have a solid foundation to learn how to properly read the minimap and predict enemy movements. THEN if you see there's a good chance an enemy might try to go for a flank or a sneaky capture, you can couble back if the situation allows it to deal with it, even in a battleship (though it really ought to do someone else if the likely enemy intruder is going to be a DD, BBs simply aren't the best at dealing with DDs).

  12. A short note on CV spawns: If the game puts you in a match with two CVs of different tiers, the spawns will put the higher tier CV of one team opposite to the lower tier CV of the other team, i.e.: matching the lower tier CV against the higher tier one by proximity. That's frankly completely unbalanced BS. WG should introduce mirror spawns that match CV spawn locations of similar tiers so any lower tier CVs aren't automatically disadvantaged from the get go.
  13. That may or may not be because you haven't played any Ranked this season.

    Japanese Cruicers versus British.

The skill is being in a position where: 1.) You can't be easily deleted, so using an island to limit the number of ships that can possibly fire at you and/or firing unspotted from smoke 2.) You have plenty targets to choose from that you can shoot 3.) You can pour shells into the exposed flank of the enemy or force them to show their vulnerable sides to your allies if they intend to angle against you A properly placed RN cruiser can either rack up preposterous amounts of damage against targets that don't angle against, or force the enemy out of position in order not to be the victim of the former. Also, with their superiour stealth rating and volume of fire they are excellent at aggressively pushing along with DDs.
  15. Hosho says hi. Then again, if WG really wants to scrap manual attacks for lowtier CVs, then the Imp is really going on without peers at its tier.

    Japanese Cruicers versus British.

If you want training on how to use RN cruisers, play US DDs. The tier V and VI US DDs (Nicholas and Farragut respectively) share a remarkably similar playstyle.

    Japanese Cruicers versus British.

British light cruisers are highly skill dependent to really shine and mistakes will be mercilessly punished due to the poor armour which can see you nuked in an instant. Not recommended for people that aren't confident in their positioning and situational awareness skills. Not exactly a good choice for newcomers to cruiser gameplay, it's like teaching how to swim by tossing someone overboard and seeing how it goes - you either learn fast or, well ... IJN or US cruiser lines are the better choices to get familiar with cruiser gameplay. Also, the RN CL low tiers are not the best of ships. I'd say the Emerald is decent, but that one is severely hampered by the brutal tier V matchmaking. With the tier VI Leander though, that's where the fun really starts!

A note about CV spawn positions

The current system isn't better either, because I end up facing a higher or lower tier CV closest to me. Unless I'm this game's unluckiest SOB and the spawn system just random decides to spawn me closest to the higher tier enemy CV all the time, because I always end up being paired with a different tier CV (either lower or higher) unless both CVs per team are the same tier (in which case it doesn't matter anyway).

Constant CTDs after patch 0.6.1 (continuing with 0.6.2)

Oh look, another game crash when I press battle. The immediately followed by an infinite loading glitch (interestingly enough for the First Encounter map, when the actual match that took place was on Mountain Range after I had to manually kill the game and restart it once again!).

A note about CV spawn positions

You didn't understand my point. The game already has more or less determing CV spawn locations. But with more than one CV per team, the spawn system doesn't mirror the locations by tier and thus ends up putting a lower tier CV closest to the enemy higher tier CV, which is unbalanced as f*ck!
