Nope. Not hardware. I've run a couple benchmarks to stress my CPU, GPU and RAM and they worked flawlessly. My GPU is old, but running rockstable. I'd think old drivers would be the easiest way to explain the crashes but then I'd get driver errors, not a nondescript "World of Warships has stopped working". Neither would it turn from running perfectly to crashing all the time, right after a new patch hit. That timing and change of stability is suspicious. That's why I tried reinstalling it, to see if the patching somehow corrupted gamefiles, but even with a completely clean reinstall without mods it just kept crashing 3-4 times per day. Something with the 0.6.1 patch (and later game versions) messed up the game stability hard.

Choice of words aside, RNG-based instant kill conditions are just frustrating design and I wouldn't be missing them were they to be removed.

Aye. Well, we can speculate all we want but in the end we'll have to see how they want to do it. I can totally see clans or such player aggregations that team-up regularily sticking to one faction though ...

Assuming players can pick their faction (as the writing seems to imply), what's to stop people from joining one faction en masse and thus proportionally increase that faction's chances to edge out of the competing team?

Met Troublemaker and daki as my mates and me we're slogging through the mud of incompetency today. Just, urgh! MM was already brutal (the match with daki in particular, tier X max, but our team gets six tier VIII ships whereas the enemy only had 2 tier VIII ships. Domination mode and the enemy gets a tier IX DD division, we get a single Benson) and the teams ... Iowa with Survivability Expert should say it, but really there was even worse today. Easily enough to just make you want to quit the game.

Short offtopic question, but I seem to recall a couple people in here playing Stellaris. How good is it and how easy is it to get into if you've not played any Grand Strategy games to date? I'm toying with the idea of buying it and from what I've read it is one of the easier ones to get into but still a very good game. I'm already pretty experienced in turnbased strategy games (Civ, GalCiv, Endless Legend) so if anyone in here can give me a recommendation, I might just get myself Stellaris (been itching for something new to play).

Welp just had a game where I ran into the entire enemy team ... got nearly nuked. Silverlining, I'm running Adrenaline Rush on my captain, so yay, faster torpedo reload ... except my reload was still the very same 90.1 seconds. Also my main battery reload was still the same of 3.3 seconds (Fletcher with torpedo tubes modification 3). YAY! Good work WG.

Right, if I understand you correctly that sounds pretty much like OCD (obsessive-compulsive disorder). That in itself isn't really a bad thing since a vast majority of people exhibit such tendencies to some lesser degree. If you've however poured up to 2k bucks into the game based on this, I'd recommend actually talking to a specialist since that is a sign that it's negatively effecting you (2k bucks is a serious amount of money after all). We can't help you here. And to be honest, I'm not sure if it actually can helped. Ask a specialist! At the very worst he might confirm it (or whatever else it might be) and offer advice on how to safeguard yourself against unwanted ill effects.

I hope the same. I also hope that WG does in fact implement a filter that people can use to opt out of the content, because even if we disregard the couple flamers there's a few people who simply don't like it. And if giving everyone an option to ignore such content helps keep the cinders on a low burn, I'm more than happy with that.

Well, all we know for now is the ships are going to be for sale in the premium shop. Maybe we won't ever get event missions or some such, so you'd never have to deal with any exposure to related content other than possibly meeting those ships in a battle.

At this point, I want everything that isn't a battleship. Not that I wouldn't love to get my hands on a King George V-class, but there's too many BBs around right now. I want RN DDs, french DDs (Mogador <3 or perhaps the T-47 class as a tier X), italian cruisers (Zara class :3), italian DDs. Maybe the RN CV line following a rework/rebalance of the CV gameplay. Anything but more BBs.

Culture differences. Public bathing is actually a significant thing in Japan, completely dwarfing anything even closely resembling in the western world. And I don't mean bathing as in going for a swim in a pool like many would quite possibly assume. I mean bathing as in washing, showering. The kind of stuff that in the western cultures is typically reserved for one's own bathroom at the start and end of a day. Meeting with people and strangers in a public bath in Japan is a bonding metaphor. All kinds of different people from different social statuses come together with literally nothing seperating them from another. That's even made quite clear in the actual episode in that anime as whilst bathing the engineering crew asks the captain what's going on with the mission since they've been working in the bowels of the ship, they had little clue as to the general situation other than being asked to go full power all the time. You'd find that the bathhouse setup is actually extremely common in japanese media. This is just one of the aspects that simply doesn't translate to onlookers since they (we) have a completely different understanding. Japanese people watching this scene aren't going to oggle at every bit of naked skin. They're watching a bunch of girls come together after a hard day's work, exchange words, assuage their worries and cleanse themselves from the recent event's stress as they relax in a hot bath. As for cute girls doing things in a cute way. That's the genre of that anime. It's literally "cute girls doing cute things". That's the entire concept and purpose behind it. The WW2 era warships are just whacky elements thrown in really, because there's only so many normal things you can make look cute with cute girls until you run out of ideas.

Imho they shouldn't release any BB line this year (unless the BB population problem has comprehensively changed). More cruiser lines would be for the best as that is the class that's currently hit the hardest by the BB oversaturation, so anything that garners interest in cruisers is a good thing. WG didn't quite get the memo on making an interesting/unique and competitive cruiser line with the french though ... but they could also implement the italian cruiser line too. Otherwise, DD lines to both hunt BBs and give cruisers something to shoot would also work. I'm fairly sure there's many interesting choices for the french line and plenty enough designs to make a couple lines for the Royal Navy in fact. Maybe with a major rework/rebalance of aircraft carriers we might see a RN CV line this year. But no BBs. As much as I'd love sailing a King George V class or the Richelieu I'm convinced that adding more BBs, especially prolific ones, is just going to make the current BB infested meta even worse.

Regarding #4 Read up on the overmatching mechanic. Every hightier battleship can bounce AP shells on the bow for as long as it's not Yamato's 460mm shells.
