I could think of several things worse to put in a garden.

Going to get a couple Engine Boost upgrades and then camouflages for the spare coins. Already have three HAS upgrades so I'm stocked for those and I don't see the value in the other special upgrades. Would've liked the 2k doubloons (already have the Kamikaze R and I think the current camouflage looks gorgeous plus the added free XP bonus isn't that much of a deal given the usual amount of XP you get in a tier V ship anyway) but I'm not motivated at all to grind like a madman for that so I doubt I'd reach anywhere close to 800 coins.

Actually no. Firstly criticism is never disgusting. It is an integral part of the natural learning process. How do you suppose education would work if teachers wouldn't criticize pupils making mistakes and pointing out the errors and how to do it correctly? Only unconstructive criticism is bad since it doesn't help with solving problems and typically results in people getting defensive as if personally insulted (which may even have been the case depending on how wording was chosen). Secondly, it's not a sweeping generalization that players who do care about stats have lifes themselves, unless you wish to argue on the basis that a number of players are undead. Not every one might have a family to care for or a job, but that doesn't change the fact they're still just as normal people as someone who may not care about their stats. That's not an argument, that's a loaded supposition and he correctly pointed that out! Thirdly, could we agree that caring about stats doesn't necessarily equal getting erections over pretty numbers? I care about stats, but I'm not success-sexual. There's multiple levels of caring about stats before you arrive at unhealthy obsession, thank you very much. Last but not least, good players play good. It's quite literally spelled out. Whether that means having fun with teammates, playing solo or whatnot is subjective, but not an inherent performance quality. Fun is not directly related with playing well. I've done incredibly stupid things, but they were fun. But I typically only do them when the game is either already a guaranteed win so me derping around doesn't effect my teammates, or in cases where a stupidly ridiculousl move is the only chance at creating a chance to turn a loss around (which it typically doesn't, but sometimes going crazy really does the trick). There is no fault in his logic.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

The teams today, damn. Enemy Essex (35% winrate with Essex ~300+ games in it) is purely autodropping the entire time so our own team's Taiho had essentially free reign. I point out a target of opportunity for the CV in chat (extremely low health FdG, completely isolated, easiest kill a CV could ask for) but instead he takes all his aircraft into the thickest bunch of ships the enemy has. Mkay, maybe he's trying to finish the Yamato that's also extremely low health ... not what I would've done but still a help ... but no, he ignores the Yamato and goes for the full health Bismarck instead. Naturally he doesn't kill it and loses almost all his attack planes in the process. Or the precious Fletcher, who upon me asking for a smoke (am in a Khabarovsk with heal) jokes around "no thx" and buggers off, leaving me to defend the B cap all on my own, low on health with a multitude of ships closing in ... with a smoke I could've held them off easily, together with him we could've annihilated them between the two of us. But no, he leaves, goes to his buddies on the A cap (which we already had for like 10 minutes ...) and dies. Stuff like that utterly permeated the entire gaming session today. Selfish idiots, maxrange HE sniping BB n00bs and DDs seemingly allergic to capping is what I've seen all damn day. Oh boy ... you couldn't carry some of those teams. But at least there's some games you can still clutch: That was a tough fight thanks to very questionable position of some of our ships and our own CV dying sometime halfway through the match which left the enemy CV free reign. Almost lost the FdG at the end too because apparently he doesn't believe in turning before the airdropped torpedoes are in the water and the impact alarm blaring in his ears ... But Reaper and me dragged them to victory kicking and screaming. That Dreadnought was hard earned gunfighting Baltimores, etc ... OBVIOUSLY no one complimented us for the performance -

Ran into DurinVI and [TTT] friends. Match ended in a loss because I couldn't contest the cap alone in my Udaloi vs a Gearing with extensive support (including a Moskva, i.e.: radar), so I had to bail under fire, and Durin was utterly left to his own devices by the fellow Z-46 who was more intent on hiding behind an island rather than actually cap anything ... -
Erm, no? Caring about stats such as winrate means people are actually measuring themselves up to the server standard and almost exclusively do so in order to improve and get better at the game so their winrate climbs. If you mean to say that people obsessed with such need to recheck their priorities I can get behind that, but this simple statement of yours is highly ignorant. Ouch, gotta need premium damage control party for that one.

[SCRUB] The Scrubs - Recruitment thingy

Lol what the hell? I thought us Germans had it bad due to bloody GEMA. Well, if you can't see it, I'll just say go try watching the Monogatari series (since it's a long running series, here the seasons in order: 'Bakemonogatari' -> 'Nisemonogatari' -> 'Nekomonogatari' -> Monogatari Second Season' (yes, it's the fourth season, but named the second, because there was a hiatus after the third season ...) -> 'Hanamonogatari' -> 'Tsukimonogatari'). What the actual clips showed was sexual shenanigans, but what the series is actually about is ... difficult to put into few words. Let's just say the show is almost exclusively dialogue between a wide cast of different characters, spiced up with absolutely gorgeous visuals and very interesting setpieces and direction (to keep your eyes busy during all the dialogue, that is if you can follow the subtitles ... this show is decidely not for slow readers and I do recommend watching it subbed (don't even know if there are any decent dubs around in the first place)) and a soundtrack that is just as brilliant and excentric as the series itself. It thematically deals with a lot of japanese folklore (youkai and other supernatural elements) so it definately helps if you read up a bit about it, but if you didn't you still learn it as you go (because as I said, almost exclusively dialogue which includes a good bit of exposition) so you're not left in the dark, just takes you longer to understand the significance. In short, the series is a total oddball (and it will throw curveballs at common anime/TV stereotypes), it is excentric to the point of bizarre at times and if you don't like listening to just as excentric people talk convuluted about folklore, ethics, morality, what is love and so on and such, it's probably not for you. But the visuals man, that's eyeporn! Eyegastic! But if you can even just appreciate any of that, the 'Monogatari' series is a treasure chest of delight, comedy gold and lots of incredibly interested thoughts on a multitude of subjects. Absolutely love the series to bits and could gush over it for hours ... If it shows, have a bit of Monogatari OST: ... HHHNNNNNGGGG- 3,079 replies

We did have unusually good teamwork. That double Edinburgh and Atago division could've tied us up a while, but our New Orleans pushed close and radared them after announcing it which with a Montana and Hindenburg proved to be instantly disastrous for those poor sods, whilst the Kagerou obviously had some respect for my Khabarovsk and tried to work around me though obviously he didn't have quite enough respect, because he once actually started picking a fight when he thought three cruisers shooting at me would be a distraction ... he paid a couple thousand healthpoints for making that mistake. No idea what your North Carolina was doing there, he essentially bailed the moment he saw opposition and left for the mapborder, leaving the Amagi alone to bear the brunt of the push as she tried to regroup, and was unceremoniously dumped as roadkill a bit later. By the way, what were you testing (since you mentioned it)? -

Bug is positively ancient. But I'd say something with 0.6.4 made it more frequent.

Signal flag (-20% fire duration). Fire duration is 60 seconds base for all ships.

Just had Elenortirion in his Akizuki (a most fitting ship) on the red team. Sadly his team was ... undecided. He died trying to cap and I almost felt bad shooting at him, but well, life goes on. He came second on his team though, so he got a compliment for that (also, cronyism). -
*sigh* You still misunderstand my point. Say you get reported out of spite. Happens all the time, surely we can agree on that, yes? So, that report flags you in the system and it gets logged in your report history. Then later you get reported out of spite again, another strike on your history. Maybe you deserved a later report because you ranted, but that's three strikes for a single instance where you deserved it, but the system sees "oh boy, that guy already has three strikes, he just doesn't learn, doesn't he? -> chatban" That is what's wrong with the system, the false positives aren't filtered and stay in your history, possibly falsely marking you as a repeat offender and the system lowering the threshold to hand out suspension, regardless of it being deserved or not. And the regularity of those reports has little direct correlation with actual misbehaviour. I get reported multiple times as week after good games despite me hardly ever using game chat other than to share informations. Griefers will report out of spite and this system is conceptionally unable to deal with that crap, on the contrary it seems almost designed to facilitate that nonsense.

Aye, but with apparent way of getting rid of unjustified strikes, those false positives with minor punishment will pile up significantly over time and what's supposed to be a 24hr chat suspension can de facto end up in a nearly continious suspension with just a handful reports each time after the 24hr suspension wore off only to be forcibly muted for another 24hrs ... and then shortly thereafter another 24hr. Trying to minimize workload is one thing, but replacing it with a hilariously exploitable automated system is simply lazy.

Just a quick rant: MM for tier VIII is utterly broken right now. Bottom tier all the time. And I mean all the bloody time. Yesterday we had exactly one game (1!!!) where we weren't bottom tier in our tier VIII ships (we were middle tier instead, woohoo). Today it's looking like the mess is just going to continue. Is that just me and my buddies who share that 'luck' being extremely unfortunate with RNG or is this pandemic? Because sweet Jesus, it's NOT fun having to deal with that game after game after game after game after game ...

Aye, but the system logs flagged users and apparently is not nearly as patient with follow-up reports agaisnt users with a history of reports. But it doesn't care if any of the reports (or previous ones) were actually deserved and will punish the player all the same, regardless of whether any misconduct actually took place or someone was simply reported out of spite in sufficient numbers in the past.
-
The chatban system is broken. Afaik it works on a strikes principle, meaning ti will remember how many times you were reported and will punish you like a repeat offender in the future ... but it doesn't discimrinate between legit and false reports. Getting a strike for having raged hard is one thing and deserved. Getting a strike for having disagreed with an armchair admiral who subsequently buried his insecurities by pressing that report button seven times is another and plain broken.

I'm sorry, I wouldn't be replying to this criticizing your stats normally, but I did make it a habit of checking player stats when their argument is essentially just a "stop whining and git gud" to see if they can back up that attitude ... and oh boy did you just show broadside: Your Kagerou is beating the sh** out of tier X BBs and taking down Montanas, Yamatos and Kurfürsten any day you say? With 27k average damage on your Kagerou you at best beat the sh** out of a quarter of the aforementioned ships before you die (15% survival rate). Your hilariously out of proportion "git gud" aside, your comment also showed a fair bit of ignorance when you cite DDs working well (and they do in fact, just not you) in a meta that's currently infested with the prime hunting target for DDs. Now try to think from a non-DD perspective and look at what this means for say cruisers. Every game having 4-5 BBs is already bad enough news but when those BBs are tier IX and X with notorious cruiser killers like Iowas, Montanas, Yamatos or GKs and your flimsy cruiser is tier VIII without even a heal yet ... think about it. Or even better, play it: Bring your Chapayev, your New Orleans and your Mogami out and back up that sentiment. If MM is working just fine you should be easily getting good results. I'd even be satisfied if you just managed to reach server averages ...
