Interesting to see that each bundle also comes with a progressively more experienced captain depending on which bundle you take. I see WG is preparing to milk the everloving cr*p out of the Hood, the baiting game with experienced captains and those new signal flags is stronk!

Fundamental communication barriers make that sentiment irrelevant. In the EU cluster you can't even be sure all players on the same team speak a common language or are fluent enough to coordinate. Against any sizeable clan presence which will be almost assuredly on voice-comms and knowing each other making supporting even easier, that is a hurdle that's borderline unsurmountable. Besides, WG has promised clan activities to make their entrance soon™, possibly this year, which would allow clans to compete against another. A 12vs12 or some such teambattle is not unlikely to make it into the game for clan play.

Lowtier frenchies are best shot at when slightly angled. Or just use HE, since their paltry armour gets penetrated by more or less every HE shell shot at them.
-
Any particular need for using special fonts? And the draw backs are the lazy ballistics at range, the low per shell damage and low caliber. The ship also isn't really fast and not well armoured. For any other question you might have, just remember this is a game, not a simulation and reality bows out before game balance.

Actually as long as you don't have any personal stake in what you're seeing, seeing people die doesn't affect normal people at all that much. The only response is a superficially sympathetic "damn" but that's all a normal person that isn't invested in the situation is possible to empathize. Reactions are proportional to personal experience and thus highly subjective. Someone who experienced loss of someone dear (say family members that died, friends or such) will have a deeper emotional response than someone who never lost somebody dear to them. That sort of stuff is a LOT more complex than just "if that doesn't make you uncomfortable you're not normal" (paraphrased).

How to Myougi: At match start, turn around. When aft pointing towards general direction of enemy, reverse. Two thirds of your firepower now up front and easy to reverse out of action if focus gets too tough. Now in earnest: What the hell is OP on about concealment? What he wrote about concealment, spotting and firing range makes absolutely zero sense. Viewing distance is greater than firing range and anything someone has spotted will be well withing viewing distance before being in firing range. This talk about not being able to use the firing range on the Myougi due to not seeing spotted ships further out than 16km is pure BS. Either they're spotted (then you can shoot them if they're in firing range) or they're not (duh).

And there's nothing wrong with that in my opinion. Tier X ships should be a privilege, not a right. Especially since people can quite literally die their way up to tier X without ever having learned much on how to play, just takes them longer to grind all the way up that way ... Just today I've seen a Hakuryu doing nothing but autodrops and on the one time he actually tried a manual attack, he strafed his own fighters with a net gain of two enemy TBs shot down for the price of sacrificing five of his own fighters ... I wouldn't want someone like that afford to play tier X all the time, though I suppose any hopes of him learning anything in the lower tiers or at all is vain.

Weekend syndrome. More players active on weekends, ergo more players who're not as good/downright bad, ergo higher skill deviations which can lead to lopsided match-ups when the MM put more potatoes on one team than the other.

Naw, we get russian biasboats before uncooked spaghetti.

Tier VIII economy is perfectly fine and very easy to make sizeable profits without premium or some such! Tier IX and X is costly without premium (thought he tier X permanent camouflages turn those ships into premium credit printers) but you can still make a profit if you have a good game. And I'm not meaning super unicum good. I still have premium time but I do check the hypothetical non-premium results and I find that I'm almost always making a couple 10k credits profit, a good deal more on good games and almost never end up with a deficit unless it was a really, really bad game (again, those are the non-premium numbers).

And then the hard baguettes ...

Probably not people flying but debris. With that force of explosion (you see part of the hull folding forwards), any sailor caught directly in the blastwave of that explosion to be set flying wouldn't stay in a piece large enough to be recognizable. In fact those who were still on the hull of the ship as it blew had the best survival chances ... those who already jumped ship and were in the water probably got liquified by the shockwave in the water. Mean business those physics.

Esa Tuunanen - The one man meme machine (Jingles Video)
Aotearas replied to Takru's topic in General Discussion
Wow, lot's of "how dare he have fun playing one ship all the time" in this thread. Placate your mammaries people, just because it's not your idea of time well spent with the game (nor mine) there's no need to start flaming someone. And Esa isn't out just for sealclubbing ... if he were he wouldn't be offering advice for new players on the forum as regularily as I've seen him do that. -
Still better than 5 BBs per side all the time ...

Please tell me that USS Beatty detonated

Talk me out of buying the... BELFAST! (Bought Horst and the Saipan already)
Aotearas replied to AndyHill's topic in General Discussion
Alright then. Don't buy the Scharnhorst. It's a terrible ship anyway, just look at it, so ugly not even the Fatherland wanted it around. And the guns mate, Scharnhorst didn't even hit BB puberty yet. Still wet behind the rudder and I bet it doesn't even have shells on its bottom half of the hull yet. Also in full-on identity crisis. Can't decide if it wants to be a really fat cruiser, the biggest overgrown DD ever or a really skinny BB. Just don't. -
You just have to catch the target and from which direction you hit them is largely irrelevant unless you can get that sweet strafe from behind. Getting them perpendicular still gives very nice results and even a head-on strafe can yield neat results with a bit of RNG luck (particularily helpful softening up incoming fighters before tagging them). The most annoying part is giving the order too close to your squadron and they turn around to get into strafing position again ... Bomb drops just comes with experience. I was absolutely shyte hitting cruisers with divebombers at the start. Now I can easily hit those and I'm starting to get a good hang on DDs (at least if they're not bucking like a bronco). I'd actually advise to learn that on Randoms rather than CoOp. CoOp bots aren't really that strong on evading and their rushing nature makes for easier targets to begin with, but you have to get a feel on how ships evade to get the drops right (and the drop distance for torpedo bombers, so torps won't harmlessly dink unarmed on the target's hull after they turning in towards your drop).

There's a difference between some newcomers not learning something and making it literally impossible to learn something early on by removing it. And CVs shouldn't start at tier IV anyway. Tier V at the earliest (where most ships come with some A that can actually shoot down aircraft if they spend too long in the AA aura and by extension they can see tier VI cruisers with defensive AA). If WG had wanted to curb low-tier CV sealclubbing they should've simply removed the tier IV CVs and/or reduce the damage (foremost the torpedo bombers which can oneshot everything that isn't a BB at that tier bracket!) rather than removing the single most important skillset for CVs to learn. Whatever WG intended to do with that change, it's not a solution for dealing with sealclubbing low-tier CVs or making for an easier learning process for newcomers. The reasoning it would is downright stupid and the way they went about it (if what they said was the intended goal at all ...) is likewise stupid and borderline counterproductive.

If you have a headset/microphone I can recommend joining the WG WoWS TS3 server: 92.223.3.90:9989 No password required. Just hop into a channel with fellas of the same nationality (or if you're multilingual into any other one that you are comfortable to speak with), chat people up and ask if they want to division up and give you a couple tips. The English speaking channels are typically well populated and the people that I've spoken to and/or played with are pretty decent to very good players and excellent and helpful chaps every single one of them, just make sure to tell them you're new and looking for tips (and that you're still playing the low tiers, not everyone keeps ships at those tiers) and there shouldn't be many issues. For more generalized advice, just browse the informative guides in the newcomers section and the ship subsections for more specific tips on how to play certain ship classes (though those tips are typically with higher tiers in mind, but they still apply to the low tiers to varying degrees).

A day in the offices of the makers of Mass Effect Andromeda
Aotearas replied to KarmaQU_EU's topic in Off-Topic
In other news today, the Mass Effect franchise has been put on ice by EA for the time being and the lead studio for ME:A, BioWare Montreal, has been reverted back to a support studio to help other projects. With the ME IP out of the picture for the foreseeable future, you think we may finally get a KotOR 3 or perhaps a Jade Empire 2? -
Tier 8 Competitive Battles - Ships to Use

How's Bismarck looking in competitive meta? I'd think the solid AA, hydro and secondaries would make for a decent pick for aggressive setups. -

What is the highest possible torpedo speed with upgrades?
Aotearas replied to BlitzkreigDeutschland's topic in General Discussion
Eh, it says torpedo tubes traverse speed. For anyone who knows what a torpedo tube is the meaning is obvious, though I suppose non-native speakers who aren't quite up to par on those terms can misinterprete. In that regard well done to the OP for asking if he's actually correct or not, he's on the right course to learning the game. Keep asking if stuff is unclear or if you want tips!
