Anyone looking forward to a French CV line

38 knots? The Wikipedia page said 34 knots and that's why I didn't consider it much since the speed would be anemic for a hightier DD. But if that thing can do 38 knots base (plus speed boost for that bit extra speed) that would indeed work as a potential tier X, with the Mogador likely at tier IX then.
  2. Again, sounds more like they're being too lazy or stingy to implement a working anti-cheat solution. They can either police what mods are available, or they can actively police which mods work with the game. If they do neither, it's a free for all with all the unwanted crap falling through the cracks unchecked.

Anyone looking forward to a French CV line

Not sure if there's enough material to make a full line. Only full CV line I expect to be included later would be the Royal Navy. But frankly with the alternative mouse controls and a bit of CV economy rework already having been the "year of CVs", I'm not keen at all to play CVs. It should be obvious to everyone by now that CVs are WG's unwanted step-child that's only being tolerated because you can use it to sell a couple more premiums ... What I'm looking forward to though would be the french destroyers. Ships like the Le Fantasque or the likely tier X candidate the Mogador make me salivate in anticipation.
  4. Hadn't WG introduced something of a licensing system for mods that require developer approval in form of encryption keys or something like that? I remember some mods being on hiatus because modders refused to agree to WG terms to get those. So unless that system was already circumvented, what would stop WG to simply not grant those mods the necessary keys to work with the game? Those mods are absolute BS and ought to be banned from gameplay because those are what I'd consider bordering VERY HARD on cheats (particularily the rainbow mod!). What I'm wondering is what is WG's stance on implementing an anti-cheat system? WoT is already a rather sizable esport game (nothing like the big names, say Counter Strike and the likes, but it's still on a scale of legitimate esports) and I really haven't heard of ANY successfull esport game that doesn't come with a dedicated anti-cheat solution. And if WoT were to get one, it'd be an easy step to just include WoWs into it.
  5. Le part deux: After having finally cleared the weekly mission I could play my other ship classes again, yay! Hnnngh I just love this ship. it's so fun to play. Just pure aggression and holding the left mouse buttom for fun and profitsss. Had to disengage a couple times, but in the end no one denies the Khaba her due! Easily one of the ships most gratifying to get a Dreadnought with. I think I might even send that last game to Jingles
  6. Welp, will have to split again (image number restrictions). First, from my ventures to get the damn final stage of the Tsushima mission done (so many frustrating kills snatched away I thought I'd never get this mission done ...), met EsaTuunanen in his Gremy: A short-lived, but violent battle for me as I pressed into the enemy with a glorious end against impossible odds (which would've been slightly less impossible if the rest of our team's BBs weren't complete pussies and hiding ... flippin' coward BB campers!). Died fast, but apparently furiously enough to still get a comfortable topscore in the end As it should be. Didn't get two BB kills though, hrmph. Esa did some good work cleaning up and defending our cap, even whilst an utterly unapologetic Gneisenau kept trying to snipe from his maximum firing range because "I don't care" (play CoOp you egotistical leech!).

    Mikasa mission

That's how I got mine too. Shot a broadside turning Montana over the enemy GK to sink it, then steamed full ahead in my Missouri towards the reversing GK, train my guns to the Zao, shoot and sink that sucker and rammed the GK for the Double Strike, second BB kill and match end whence I finally got the mission done. Ram kills best kills!

Do u like the BB Meta?

The great CV rework was the alternative mouse controls. How do you think are the chances WG is going to adress the BB meta or actually teach any of those BBabies how to play?
  9. Aotearas

Rollover meta - WG can this be fixed please?

Last time I checked, I was talking about people, not pixels.
  10. CoOp CV. They essentially select one target and then go at it until it's dead or they run out of airplanes.
  11. Just had EsaTuunanen in a game with me. Died early, but gloriously. edit:// Also just had a nice string of games together with svadilfari after he asked for a division out of the blue. Actually got the Mikasa mission done in the first game with him, yay!
  12. Precisely. Tears of the Desert is just straight-up awful map design. Which is off, necause we know WG can actually make good maps (Sanctuary and Trident were introduced at roughly the same time as Tears of the Desert iirc). Also the new Haven map is excellent imho.
  13. Wait those bastards weren't just camping but actually hiding (none spotted in that screenshot?). Gee, not even a "don't worry, we're right behind you" supportive fire or anything, they just straight-up hid like pussies. No wonder I was drawing all that fire, you guys couldn't shoot at anything else even if you wanted. This is part of why the meta gets so passive even when BBs actually want to push and tank, everyone else just scurries under a rock into their personal safe space ... deplorable.
  14. Epicenter works great on Trident. Actually Trident epicenter is one of my favourite map/mode combinations and I always like it when it comes up in my midtier ships. It's just Tears of the Desert that along with the hightier meta doesn't work with epicenter.
  15. Just met Trainspite in a game and a bit later Nechrom. My team in the match against Trainspite was ... special, let's leave it at that. Btw, 1.337kk potential damage The match with Nechrom turned out we had to babysit a very ... well ... peculiar Ognevoi. Team had agreed on focusing A+B, so what does the Ognevoi that spawned right nect to B do? Goes for C of course ... so Nechrom and myself turned around and provided some unappreciated backup. Enemy team didn't expect a Bismarck and a Tirpitz to rush C I guess ...
  16. Correct me if I'm wrong, but can't you make field divisions the moment the team line-up loads? If so, those two CVs probably just added another before OP loaded and as such it looks like they divisioned up from the start.
  17. I know. Was just saying that even IF I were bottom tier CV in a game full of Iowas, Baltimores, Saint Louises, etc. pp. I'd still try to make some kind of fight out of it.
  18. We've all been there. But as bottom tier in a CV against lots of AA powerhouses and an AS CV on the enemy team I'd sooner use my CV as a singlefire torpedo than suicide (woudln't be able to suicide without aircraft after spending them all anyway ...). If anything I'd guess this was a ragequit of epic proportions, in poor taste but hopefully nothing that's going to repeat anytime soon.
  19. Well, a CV suiciding at the start of a round is a better reason to mimimi than whatever reason there was to suicide. I'll give him that. At least that's my opinion. Still not the right way on how to go about this though.
  20. You couldn't ask that him rather than make a topic about it? Or ask in our clan thread about it where fellow division mates can look into it? Putting a loaded question into this forum is more like to cause undue harm than get a satisfying answer. I suggest PM him or our clan leaders (BadGene616 or Loran_Battle) if he doesn't respond, but putting this out here is wrong and quite possible going to get locked anyway for naming and shaming. Meh, to be fair I don't think there's good reasons to suicide. Or at least that suiciding is a good answer to whatever problematic reason you might have ... just going afk and back to port is better, at least gives everyone something to shoot at and who knows if the enemy shooting the afk CV rather than another ally might just help win the game ... CV suicide is like SPGs drowning themselves to avoid getting killed in WoT, just a scumbag move.

    Is this a record?

I topped out at 11 once. Apparently my Scharnhorst was VERY shiny ... plus running into the entire enemy lemming train surely helped a bit.
  22. Don't use it at all because his voice acting makes me cringe. That guy sounds like he phoned his lines in ... literally, just picked up a phone and rattled the list down as someone on the other end of the connection at Lesta had a tape recorder running.
  23. Dogfighting Expert captain perk and perhaps a bit of RNG luck perfectly explains the situation.
  24. Ichizuchi doesn't count. That ship isn't a BB. It's an overgrown cruiser, only made more obvious by the fact that you should use HE as your default ammunition (because the AP has absolutely abysmal penetration and the HE is surprisingly strong and more importantly reliable).

    Radio Location

Are you really trying to argue that gamebreaking means literally breaking the game as in making your PC explode or something ludicrous like that? I'm sorry, but it appears you don't even know what gamebreaking means. A gamebreaker is an element of a game being used in unintended ways that impact existing game mechanics and/or balance by altering aspects of the game balance when exploited, say making a particular strategy much more powerful when used in conjunction with the game breaker, or invalidating a strategy when using the game breaker against it. That is the definition of game breaking! To apply that to WoWs: as per the words of Sub_Octavian, the skill was intended as a means to find hiding players, particularily in the very end stages of a game when players that hide can needlessly draw out a game. Now, what are the unintended ways you can use the skill for? Well, one example that was provided with video evidence is torpedoeing into the predicted approach of incoming ships into choke points. How is that unintended, blindtorps aren't exactly new after all you might ask? There's a massive difference between blindly torping as a means of area denial/zoning, and dropping torpedoes into chokepoints when you know that are good chances something you can actually hit is going there. Other unintended examples? IJN DDs rely on the stealth, because they don't have adequate means of fighting most other ships in a 1vs1. What does 'Radio Location' do? It shows the direction towards the nearest enemy, wether it's been spotted or not. So that IJN DD that's now being pinged has already lost the element of surprise, which is the first strike. Then, any player with that captain perk that actually wants to hunt down that IJN DD can do so with ease, since he has quite literally the game breaker pointing him in the right direction. What can the IJN DD do against that? Superiour stealth doesn't matter much when the enemy knows where he is, his chances for laying an ambush or otherwise landing a successful attack have been diminished significantly if not outright made impossible. Best he can do is run, but if the enemy hunting him is faster, not much he can do other than try to flee towards the safety of allies (if there are any around), forcing him to abandon his intended attacks on targets that would've never spotted him otherwise. That is why the skill is gamebreaking. And once again: no, gamebreaking doesn't mean the game will spontanously combust, or become unplayable or whatnot. It means the gameplay balance is negatively impacted wherever the gamebreaker applies. It doesn't matter if the gamebreaker is rare, it breaks the game balance. Same as every t IV/V match you end up facing a Nikolai isn't balanced because that ship is so overpowered WG refuses to sell it anymore. Or why the USS Black is gamebreaking despite only being present in a couple handful numbers, since in whatever match it plays, it monopolizes its immediate vicinity thanks to its radar, making it effectively impossible to contest a cap against it which is a game winning (gamebreaking) advantage! That's why RL is broken. That's why the 'impact' in terms of occurances is irrelevant, because whenever it happens, the actual impact is, drumroll please, gamebreaking. And it is only getting worse the more people start using it effectively or use it as an excuse to abandon caps "because I'm radio located" ... And this is going to be the last time I'll try to be constructive regarding this thread. If people still can't or don't want to get how game balance works (and what gamebreaking actually means!), I won't bother wasting anymore time trying to hammer some damn knowledge into their empty heads.
