Your reading comprehension isn't the best it seems, try again: It wasn't me that alt-tabbed out of the game in the middle of the cap with Midway aircraft circling around. The game just randomly went to a blackscreen and the next thing I saw was my desktop (game still running in minimized tab: i.e.: it alt-tabbed out for whatever reason), then I went back to the game (getting another blackscreen for some precious seconds) and the next thing I see ingame is the Midway dropping on me. So you can take your condemnation, stick it where the sun doesn't shine and sod off!
-
Yeah yeah, my DX12 GPU can't handle DX11, sure ...
-
Just wanted to say that switching to DX9 has at the very least gotten rid of the momentary blackscreen when alt-tabbing, PC now seamlessly cycles through windows again. I'll stick with DX9 until WG implements a new patch to deal with performance and stability issues at the very earliest.

Personally I think the price fits if you take the discounted free XP conversion rate into account (35:1 instead of the normal 25:1).

Citadeled an Izumo at 12,5km with Roon AP and it wasn't even fully broadside. I guess I'll really have to start playing this in the background whenever I play a german ship:- 3,079 replies

Atlanta don't care about bottom tier as long as it has a faithful island waifu: Rushing up straight for B, Mahan in division drops smoke, Mahan gets spotted and time for a good ole' Radar cycling with the division Belfast -> Dead-23. Enemy team committed a sizeable force to A (why people still haven't learned how horribly an idea that is I will never know) so we're contend with just sitting in B and welcoming everything with a couple salute shots to be extra polite. Blyskawica and Baltimore get spotted as they edge in between the tiny gap that connects A to B ... then actually commit. Enough torps to have the enemy sailors disembark and walk onto land without ever touching water later and both are sunk (Mahan actually detonated the Baltimore instantly ... the second time in two games he nuked a full HP ship, that lucky bastard!). Then a wild FdG appears, gets welcomed, then an Amagi wants to creep around the edge, gets welcomed, sometime in between the enemy Ranger actually tries to drop on me because apparently that's still a thing ... aaand that was the end of it already. But the daily jewel was this: Good thing we had a couple extra backpacks in the team because I don't think I could've carried that alone. Thankfully the ever-charming @Zerstoeroer provided a very inspirational motivation right from the start that lifted everyone's spirits and even after sinking continued to provide essential moral support. Or how do you call it again when someone goes on about "subhuman trash", "sinking everyone himself or die trying" and a lovely "hope you all die in a fire and get cancer" (think you got the order wrong there)? Anyway, I very much hope he enjoyed the victory that I simply had to gift to such an esteemed gentleman after spurring us on so passionately! Also, that pink looks fabulous on you. Special mention for @Miniadler who worked well with our Yamato to contain the enemy for as long as possible. Had you guys not lasted as long as you did I don't think I could've swung that lead around. Bit of a shame the Tirpitz had to snatch away the Midway from right under my shells, that would've been the Kraken aswell to put the cherry on top, but alas it wasn't to be ... -

What about all the time a tier VI ship is getting uptiered and met with a crapton of tier VIII BBs? And no, the IJN really didn't need a tier VIII premium BB. And this game most certainly didn't need another BB of ANY tier. -
Eh, I personally find it amusing knowing that apparently not only the Khabarovsk is unplayable after the recent nerfs, but the recent change to the forum also made it unplayable for him. At least he's consistent!

Pretty sure he (or the forum, you never know) just derped quoting Kittykami..

Yep, those are the Type 98 100mm/65 DP guns. What I find odd is the name. KII as in K2 is wrong. It was designated as the Kii-class. And the plans for those ships afaik never featured the Type 98 DP guns (naturally, since the designs were from 1920 and the mentioned armament in the datasheet is what they were planned with) which were designed much later in 1938. So unless WG found late-stage designs that actually featured the depicted armament on those renders, I would say this is simply another escalation of the BB AA powercreep. "BB overpopulation is an issue we're aware of." they say. "We're doing everything we can to deal with this." they say. Let me tell you something WG. Appearances are an important part of your credibility. Even if you were to actually do something in the background to end the BB meta, testing stuff and whatnot ... as long as the only thing we the community actually see is placative words and more and more BB content ... you sound like liers. Like ruthless liers who only talk empty platitudes to keep those who are concerned with the current direction of the game on the ropes in the hopes of squeezing a couple more bucks out of them before they inevitably jump ship when they don't see anything backing up those assurances. Customers don't tend to do business for long with what they suspect are just lying opportunists. So if you, WG, are really interested in solving this mess, it's about time you show some results and failing that, postponing the addition of even more BB stuff might at the very least take a bit of the edge off by way of at least not generating even more mistrust. Think on that. Think on that long and hard! The IJN really doesn't. They have the Mutsu and for captain retraining the Atago synergizes extremely well even with BB captains. And the game itself is the last thing that needs even more BBs right now. I can only hope *dismissive snort* that this is a long shot and just a concept for a future premium until such a time that the BB meta problem has been adressed and not to be included in the game any sooner. But eh, this is WG and World of Battleships ... -

So, a little bird tweeted to me that some little ponystain has been talking smack about the Roon as if it were some unfortunate, bastardized reincarnation of the New Blork battle-bathtub. Guess we'll have to solve this like in the old days: fondue-off! First the stick, then the leash, then the lake! Prepare yourself and cook up the cheese, I swear this orgy will be your last.- 3,079 replies

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Aotearas replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
First game I had today: Spend the last three minutes of that match kiting a Clemson that was on my arse snaking and launching his torps towards me ... for some reason the Imps guns decided to troll me, otherwise that Clemson would've died long before he got into torp range, but alas dispersion dropped all shells around that bugger for four consecutive salvoes plus the intermediate shots fired at the Tenryuu that was accompanying him but went mostly ignored because the Clemson was a slightly more pressing problem ... until I got tired of not hitting the Clemson, saw the Tenryuu turn about (no doubt to launch his torps AGAIN) and the rear turret just so happened to be pointing that way, citadel and blep, gone. Next salvo I got tired of dodging and just swung the ship around enough to bring all guns to bear (caught one torp in the process) and nuked the little pest. Stronk WASD.exe ... yeah, out of those 33 torps spotted, 29 were from that Clemson and Tenryuu chasing me, most of those torps were fired from less than 4km distance (the other four were from a Karlsruhe). Though I had a great start, but apparently that was already the highpoint of this day, the rest of the games I had were mostly me trying not to drown under all the potatoes: Bottom tier, gotta carry those big, heavy tier VIII mongrels in my undersized backpack because apparently using your brain and not doing stupid stuff or going stupid places is too damn hard! Little rant incoming: Even had a precious "almost unicum" (his words, not mine) get offended in a later game because, after me having seen our precious Enterprise doing nothing with his aircraft for straight five minutes (literally nothing, he just had his aircraft hovering around!) and not spotting anything despite pinging the map and asking him, I guessed he was a bot (cause you know, that's how bots do). So me in my Gearing had to go spot those DDs (and get spotted in return) to have the entire enemy team shoot me up whilst ours was twirling their dandy hands around. Our dear Enterprise? Oh, he was so afraid of the nasty tier X AA that he didn't even dare use his aircraft to spot isolated DDs far, far away from the AA reach of any other enemy ships, biding his time to "wait for an opening". I saw his strike aircraft moving towards the general direction of the enemy exactly once the entire game. I was mauled by focus fire and did a pityful 22k damage (no, I'm not missing a 0 there), not even a decent cap ... still got more XP than the idiot CV, mostly due to all the spotting damage. Man, if only there was a ship class that had unparalleled reconnaissance capabilities and could swiftly strike isolated DDs across the map. Nope, gotta wait for an opening and woe betide anyone who dare suggest he do something bloody useful! Seriously, that's one of the things that makes me go mental: Destroyers that will pop their smoke sitting still instead of making a larger smoke that other allies might use. Battleships that hide in the back and refuse to use their HP and armour to fight, instead just snipe from maximum range (with spotter plane of course!) Cruisers that ignore high priority targets such as low HP enemy destroyers and instead just continue to farm damage numbers on some borderhugging BB. And CVs that don't spot enemy DDs even though they have all the time and ressources to. Players like that can just uninstall the game and find themselves a singleplayer game if they aren't interested in teamwork. Fuckin' leeches! -
Is WG considering to mature the current IJN DD sub-branch into a fullblown line with a tier X down the way? The current top of the line at tier VIII with the Akizuki is insanely fun to play and imho easy tier IX material with a couple tweaks (mostly manouverability, that thing handles quite poorly for a DD). Also, if moved to tier IX, that would give a rather easy way to introduce a Super Akizuki (essentially the same as the existing Akizuki, just a bit faster, a bit more 25mm AA guns and a quintuple torpedo launcher) as the tier X and oh boy would I love that! Also, at tier IX and X, one could offer the option to mount Defensive AA instead of the Torpedo Reload Boost (considering the Akizuki class were AA DDs) at the expense of torpedo damage potential. Not sure what one could put into tier VIII though, but I'm sure with the plethora of designs and class modifications an enthusiast could find something to put there.

Phonetically it would be soft g consonants and the "Ji" is pronounced more sharply like "Gee", so Long Geeang. If you want long wang puns, gotta play Shadow Warrior!

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Aotearas replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Pan-Asian line looks like patched trousers you've been wearing for years already. Mostly essentially just copies of existing ships in the game and wildly fluctuating gameplay/styles within the line (Mutsuki'ish torpedo boat, Gnevny'ish gunboat, a hydrid-looking N-class and then US tier VIII-X equivalents). Training up a captain for that line is going to be a real PITA, if not outright impossible due to missing gameplay synergy between different ships and captain skills. And considering the higher tiers are basically just US replicas I have to wonder what they will bring to the game in the terms of gameplay flavour. So far, can't say I'm interested. The tier VII looks the only interesting ship out of the bunch, but will probably not grind any further than that (especially considering I already have the Gearing). -
Well, as I mentioned, one could be the proposed Super-Akizuki, a design to migitate one of the Akizuki's weaknesses in form of her poor topspeed (Super-Akizuki would do around 36-37 knots topspeed, which is whilst not great very much servicable at tier X) and build up a bit on AA and torpedo armament (there's various designs regarding the torpedo armament with single quintuple, single pentuple or two triple launchers, I believe the quintuple would work best as a slight escalation of the Akizuki's single quadruple launcher). Dimensionwise she'd be essentially the same, meaning equal or at least similar detectability and HP. The 4x2 Type 98 DP guns are plenty good main battery armament for tier X. If we were to assume a Super-Akizuki as the tier X, then the vanilla Akizuki would work well as the tier IX with perhaps a couple tweaks. Only the tier VIII is an empty slot that I have no idea with what to fill it, but I'm not terribly knowledgeable about IJN ship designs. And really, I just want to see more Akizuki fun. I flippin' love that ship!!! Moar plz!
