Depends on how Steam's tracking and game sugestion system handles WoWs and how many people actually look at those recommendations. Regardless of how many players might be purposefully looking for something like WoWs, Steam is going to boost the awareness of the game amongst those Steam users that don't already know about it (for better or worse is something we'll find out in due time).

I'm actually mildly optimistic. At least people on Steam are looking for a game rather than be some random kiddo clicking on an advert banner on his favourite porn website after a good wank thinking "man, firing battleship guns is exactly what I want right now". Sure there's also going to be the typical noncommitted people with hundreds of games they got during Steam sales and never played them, but I'd suspect that kind of players to drop the game just as quick. The remainder should hopefully be mostly people who're actually looking to play the game, not just sail around admiring their ship and how their guns go boom when they click the left mouse button.

Lolwhat? You absolutely sure those were AP bombs? Splashdamage from HE near-misses detonating ships is somewhat understandable from a mechanic point of view, but AP bombs? Why would they have splashdamage to begin with? If they miss, they miss, like any other AP shell would behave, or so I'd assume from a normal, logical thought process. If AP bombs really can detonate without actually hitting ... that's a new hilarious low for WG lolbalance. Btw, the name of the Enterprise player still shows in the screenshot next to the Gaede since you shot down some aircraft, mighr want to ink out his name there aswell, just in case the mod feels vindictive. Anyhoot, onto muh gaems: I seem to have a real knack for making those quirky cruisers work. Not exactly the most performant premium cruiser as far as the standard opinion goes (and I can certainly see why), but damn it does dance in my palm. I like this little battle raft ... Almost as much as I love annoying BBs

Weeeeee Just had a game in my Khaba and I DIDN'T detonate ... not having to save my Juliet Charlies for CW certainly helps. It's refreshing to have a game and not detonate from the first salvo that hits. I ain't even mad that the enemy Iowa BB AP chunked me good a couple times and ultimately sunk me. At least I didn't detonate ... and annoyed that Iowa plenty so it's fair game really.

Question now is, will we be getting NA/SEA/RU style mission requirements and rewards, or is WG going full trollololol-mode and giving everyone else the EU treatment?

There is no more regular client to download, at least not from WG and a cursory Google search didn't find the usual internet installer so I have to assume WG terminated the distribution of the non-Game Center launcher/installer entirely. TO might try his luck opening a ticket with support asking specifically for a non-Game Center installer/client ('m sure they still have the .exe lying around somewhere unless they systematically deleted everything), citing experiencing issues with the Game Center (which is still in beta, ergo it's not an outlandish thing to ask or at least that's the normal thought process ... who knows with WG). I'd suspect support trying to sell the Game Center though, so TO should be unmistakingly specific about not wanting to try the Game Center. I might actually do the same just so I have the regular client installer lying around if I wish/need to reinstall the game again without the Game Center beta ...

You will find that the quality of players fluctuates evenly across all tiers. There's just as many players who advanced up the tiers learning how to play as there are potatoes that simply died their way up. At least in the lower tiers you can reasonably expect players to be unfamiliar with at least the ships they're playing, if not new to the game itself. At tier X though, people not knowing that straightlining broaside to the entire enemy fleet is a bad idea is simply frustratingly/annoyingly obvious ... those experiences tend to stick for a while (perception bias yaddayadda though I could swear the average gameplay quality takes a noticable dip after tier VII). In short, there's newbies in the lower tiers and plenty n00bs everywhere. As for the original sentiment of this topic: Cultivate your own ingame friendships with people you can division up with. Being a teambased game it undubitably is more enjoyable playing closely together with friends than alone (and assuming competent friends it also helps a lot in performing better and carrying the odd number of potatoes you'll find in your teams).

Drivers are up to date (and compatible) and I had just gotten new RAM three weeks ago and the initial RAM test I did upon installing those came out without any errors). Dust is no issue, I just cleaned the entire case when I replaced my RAM. Like, I'm 99% certain that it's the game that's simply being unstable as hell for some reason (possibly because of my specific hardware combination, who knows, but considering my PC meets and exceeds the requirements there shouldn't be such erratic behaviour).

You know, if I were that Moskva I'd be thinking equal parts "oh crap" and "challenge accepted!". I don't believe Torpedobeating suffices with that number of torps. This is straight-up Torphou stuff:

Bevor ich mich hier reinhänge hätte ich da noch ein paar Fragen zu den Spielregeln: Soll es sarkastisches Statbashing sein, ergo man schaue durch die Stats und versucht gute Stats rumzukurbeln um dann negativen Schmarn zu reden (hohe Überlebensrate in Schlachtschiffen, sei froh dass die Erde keine Scheibe ist, sonst würdest du wohl vom Rand fallen!), oder vielleicht andersrum schlechte Stats raussuchen und die dann gutreden (Kartoffelstats in Zerstörern, haste etwa Mitleid mit den BB Kevins?) oder soll sich da jeder aussuchen wo er was nettes (oder nicht ) schreiben kann? Wer bashed wen? Eine typische Verfahrensweise wäre man nimmt sich denjenigen der als letztes was geschrieben hat (ist aber ein bischen einschränkend, nicht jedem fällt zu allem was ein). Oder man erklärt einfach den ganzen Fred zum Freiwild und jeder kann sich jemander der hier gepostet hat raussuchen wenn ihm was netters (oder auch nicht ) einfällt ... kann allerdings schnell darin enden dass sich einfach auf ein paar wenige eingeschossen wird. Ich bin überzeugt ich kann bei jedem was finden und das Blau aus'm Meer quetschen, aber ohne ein paar Regeln wär das einfach nur unfair

So, I have one question that I didn't see adressed in the portal news or on the forum (if it was answered in the forum, then your search function s*cks harder than I already think it does): What happens with ship upgrades (Main Armament Mod.1, etc. pp.) on those event ships after the event is done? I would presume they'd get automatically demounted and put into the player's inventory, but I'd like to make sure before I pump a couple million credits into what might get lost in the dark void soon (and I'd really like to play this event to its full extend with ship upgrades because it's fun to play; kudos to WG for that!). Funny thing that ... I'm constantly complaining about potatoes even in games I win. I just tend to vent that instantly with mates over TeamSpeak. Though I can very well imagine that if I had a session with an individual performance well past super-unicum levels and still consistently losing because the remaining majority of my allies are making hamfisted decisions and throwing easily won games away (and yes, people do that all the time), I'd probably need a bit more venting than just sharing my salt with whomever poor sod who's in the same teamSpeak channel (though chances are they're in that channel because they're playing with me and raging just as hard!). You're just being as snobby ("People not capable of taking a few losses should uninstall.") as you accuse Smurf to be, which also makes you a raging hypocrite. You also failed to grasp the purpose of the thread and instead tried to make the thread about something entirely else, implying that he's just whining about losses rather than providing a counterargument with empirical evidence against the ubiquitous "only one responsible for your results are you" mindset (which makes you presumptuous).

I'll try to make sure the next time will be so audacious that sarcasm detectors will outright implode upon reading it.

Must be an invulnerability bug, because in the game I had today we killed the Gorgon way before the portal got sealed (I distinctly remember because I was chasing the advancing enemies throught he filth after we sunk the Gorgon).

I may or may not have kicked him from the clan and gotten demoted to line officer for that misshap. I blame WG's UI and I'm sticking to that story.

I just have to look at the stats, only 1.67 average kills but over 100k damage and yet again only .33 average aircraft kills. Pfft, obviously you were simply damage whoring instead of playing the objective. Probably let the enemy DDs take all the caps so you can sail around farming damage on the poor battleship players that were doing their best to support their team's push that you evidently didn't do anything to stop. You likely were so far away from the actual objectives that even the CVs on the enemy team could find you or just running away from the real action hotspots that the catapult aircraft from the pushing enemy BBs and cruisers never even got into your AA range (explaining the low aircraft kills despite the Fletcher having Defensive AA). The stats don't lie! Shame!

First game, five stars (had four clan buddies along though), got the St. Louis, Nassau, Kagerou and Charles Martel permanent camouflages aswell as 1,5kk credits. Would've loved the Chapayev camouflage over anything else, but wasn't quite that lucky. And unless the rewards reset so you can get a couple more of those pumpkin containers playing the event, I very much doubt I'll fork over any money to WG to try and get the Chappy camo ... especially not with the prices they're asking for those containers, yikes.
