    FIX YOUR *Edited GAME WG!!!!

I don't even get error messages. The game just freezes up and that's it. And I won't edit the title, neither do I give a flying sh*t if they close the topic or not. Funny thing is the game probably runs a LOT better on lew-end systems because WG's entire optimization budget for the game was spent for Soviet era potato computers.

    Weapon lock bug

Right click on mouse (same key that let's you look around when you're zooming in the gun sights) seems to fix the issue. If you notice your guns are locked and you can't zoom into gunnery sights, right click mouse button.

Both sides of the torpedobeating coin in one game: If anyone knows how to set up OBS properly to eliminate the video stuttering, let me know. Been a LONG time since I last used OBS and I literally had just downloaded OBS again to record those two clips because it's jst so perfectly representative of the relative threat of torpedoes if you expect them or not. Also, I wanted to brag about that precision torpedobeat

Why such emphasis on win rate

That was a very good rundown! Quoted for emphasis.

WG seriously, this issue has to be addressed!

Uhuh ... try to play football (soccer for those guys from across the pond) with guys from the neighbourhood, but instead of actually playing, you just walk around in circles, run into the goalposts and kick the ball into random directions when you get it. See how long it takes until no one wants to play with you anymore.

If you think tentacle vore necessitates or otherwise makes prominent use of hands, ... oh sweet summer child. Btw, this is one of those things that I don't recommend googling.

Why such emphasis on win rate

First off, winrate should never be taken at facevalue. Or any stat really, only considering the complete picture can provide sufficient context. As you said, this is a team game and win rate is effected by more than just one individual. However, it is also true that the average winrate (to some extent) shows how good an individual player is influencing the game. Not winning the game all by his/her lonesome, but infuencing the game meaningfully, either creating a chance for his team with a crucial play or exploiting a fault of the enemy. Those actions tend to snowball and ultimately lead to victory. At best, no one should get obsessed about stats. They're just an indication (however useful that can be) and you should only take it as such. They can also be inflated (which is why taking a detailed look for context is important, my own stats for example are a lot of division play with good players, my solo winrate is a good chunk below my global average). See if they're going up and if they do, keep going and the rest will follow. If they stagnate, think about changing up your playstyle. If they decrease, something you're doing isn't working, try to find out what it is. That's really the only thing someone should look for in their stats, see the trend and use it as a motivator. The rest comes as it goes, one way or the other.
  9. So purple stat players are eggplants? Please, can we make that a thing? Cuz eggplants.

Does that mean you haven't actually read the entire thread? S-S-Shocking truth! Besides, the entire purpose of this thread is weeding out the week. Only true Scrublords, the unfettered and hardened need pass. Let the other clans have the normalos.
  11. So, after having a couple games in my Prinz Eugen and Scharnhorst (she works so damn well with a cruiser captain) and a single game in my Emden (missed 51 captain XP on the second to last game to complete the retraining) I retrained my german cruiser captain for my newly acquired Hindenburg and took her out to her maiden voyage: A very, very nice first impression. She's performing very much like I expected her to (in contrast to the Moskva which is still trying to throw me off like a mad bronco everytime I try to tame that ship) and I like what I saw. Would've had a good deal more damage and XP if the enemy CV hadn't decided to be a real scumbag and bombed himself. Denied me well deserved rewards considering it was just me and @Loran_Battle who held and ultimately won that flank on Two Brothers all by our loneselves (we don't talk about what happened to @FlutterRage). What a dickmove ... In other news, Emden + AFT on captain = german spaceprogram.

    Forumbekanntschaften!

    French Cruiser Line !!!

That and showing broadside. For tier IV to VI, their lack of armour strength can be counterintuitively played to their strength by NOT angling. AP shells are more likely to overpenetrate, particularily powerful AP like that from BBs or heavy cruisers. But when you start angling, that's when you start recieving lots of AP pens (because you're armour is still crap, just more ship volume for the shell to go through). Doesn't work from tier VII onwards though.

    That's all folks!

The hull shape on the Normandie seems a bit more hydrodynamic compared to the Bretagne, but the real kicker is the engine output. On the infostats you see the Bretagne has 29.000 Hp, the Normandie more than three times that with 107.000 Hp. Engine power increase of ~369% at only ~22% displacement increase and what looks like a sleeker hull shape. Without having an engineers degree or anything, but a ~43% higher topspeed sounds reasonable to me. Probably also accelerates a lot faster, unlike what I expect the Bretagne to behave if the US BBs are any indication (those only reach their topspeeds if you throw them off a waterfall, even the slightest deviation from a straight line and you instantly lose a third of your speed).

    French Cruiser Line !!!

I'm not sure why you guys keep trying to argue with this fellow. It's evident from his other comments that he has made up his mind and will not accept anything that doesn't conform his opinion.
  16. Sorry mate, but Roon AP shells are a wee bit faster than Fletcher torps
  17. BB asking for a new haircut at the DD barber: "So, what you looking for?" "Hmm, I don't know how to say it, just something a bit less flashy, you know?" "Say no more."
  18. Finished my Roon grind. Not that I'd call it a grind, because that ship is very enjoyable to play. Imho one of the highlights of the line and I'm actually going to miss it. Doubly so now that I have to retrain my 19 point captain on the Prinz Eugen before trying out the Hindenburg and the performance difference is jarring. Those were the last two games I had in my Roon: A real nailbiter. Wouldn't have had to be one and we might've actually won if the DD on the B cap had more support than basically just me at the start which gave the enemy an early cap lead, but we almost turned it back around. Enemy Akatsuki had the brains to just run and win on time-out (actually got a Solowarrior for that). At least I rooned ( ) the potential Kraken and earlier game conclusion for the enemy Missouri who thought he had an easy kill in my ~4k HP Roon with his ~20k HP BB ... turns out a low HP Roon having access to a BB broadside is a swift force equalizer and me surviving with 400 HP rubbed some more salt into the wound. But he was a good sport about it. Not every cruiser is an easy kill. And a bit cruiser broadside farming for the last ship XP needed: Enemy Baltimore actually lucky as hell. In his desperate dash towards the island center of A cap he was forced to give me broadside for two volleys ... first one was ~14K, the second one should have finished the job, but RNG decided that the shells were to fly low or high and they splashed harmlessly in the water before hitting or overpenetrated instead of going for the citadel. At least I got to farm some citadels on the Zao who didn't believe in angling.

Imperative form of the verb "to stop". Literally translates to "Stop!". Not everything is Japanese for tentacle vore, you know?

Wait a second, it's free? Couldn't you say this sooner (or did I overlooked it if you did?)? Welp, off to my Steam library I go and snatch it.

USS Salem TX Us Cruiser is on it´s way

Perhaps a testbed for a different AA mechanic/redesign. Afaik WG has been hinting at reworking the AA mechanics.

    Stuck on a 54% winrate

Funnily enough I see lots of genuine requests for advice from players with bad stats (who tend to ask advice specifically because they realized they aren't doing very well) actually being helpfully answered without malicious statbashing. If anything people who look through said player's stats do so in order to find any obvious clues as to what he might be doing wrong. There might be an obnoxious "L2P n00b" here and there but overwhelmingly it's useful advice. The only threads I see where the community gets "toxic" with statbashing is when someone opens a topic that shows they have little understanding of the game "my BB isn't sinking those stupid cruisers, fires can't melt steel armour" and instead of asking for advice is rather demanding the game to change to their needs "nerf cruiser HE!!!". Those people get ridiculed fast. Then again, I've seen a handful of such cases when the OP of such did manage a turnaround after making it clear that he realized he was wrong and would really want to get better. So no, the forum isn't toxic to players with bad stats. Just to players with bad attitudes (which just so happens to mostly have bad stats ...).
