[SCRUB] The Scrubs - Recruitment thingy

Only if you were sane to begin with, duh.

Except you don't. You get only one. The additional spotter plane is only available if you spec the captain into Catapult Aircraft Direction Center.

    Servicing Cost. Umm??

Because people hid to pay as little repair costs as possible rather than use their armour and HP to get into the action proper. They still do, but at least now the cowards are paying for it and those who fight enjoy comparatively lower service costs compaired to a total scrap bill from before the economy change, meaning actually playing the game pays better and playing hide and hide some more pays much worse.

Why that fluff about reading the entire thread AND staying sane? Since when is sanity required or even prefered? I do allow though, we need more grills in our klanu. Moar shipgirls:

    Noobs will kill this game!

  7. F I N A L L Y Got rid of that POS Monarch. Dear Lord that ship is a turd. Horribly RNG guns and little HP but normal heal (means that thing can't tank nearly as good as a tier VIII BB should). Only thing good about that ship is the concealment, everything else is just craptastic. But I finally finished grinding that ship away: Funnilly enough the trend continues. Every last game I play that earns enough XP to finish a ship grind ends up being a good game. As if the game wanted to tell me to keep playing the ship. But I ain't falling for that WG. This heap of scrap metal is going to rust unloved in port until it gets scrapped entirely. Easily the worst ship of the entire RN BB line in my opinion based on how that ship behaved. Seriously, just today I had a game with a broadside NC reversing 10km in front of me? Every single shell misses ... TWO SALVOES IN A ROW!!! What the hell?! The RNG on those guns is insane!

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

Didn't take long today: Never wrote anything in chat during the entire match. Only used the occasional F-key command to call for focus fire on a ship. Top of the team, victory. Get back to port after the game, lo and behold I lost karma. And some people seriously want to tie rewards and/or punishments to this feces flinging facade? Yeah sure ...

    Karma - Rewards and Punishments

So it would be fair for some people to punish othe people just because they hit that report button for whatever reason? Sunk an salty enemy? Get reported. Tell a hackusating player that you can't cheat detection? Get reported. Ask why an ally torpedoed you in the back from third line? Get reported. As long as everyone can freely report everyone for no reason at all the Karma system will remain a useless number. Trying to tie anything to such a flawed system is guaranteed to misfire all the same.

"Captain, I could recalibrate our core flux dampening projectors to reroute our ship's RNG power to the forward shields!" "Make it so!" Meanwhile on a DD nearby: "Helm, engage cloaking device. Those battleships won't know what hit 'em!" "Q'apla!" Meanwhile on a nearby cruiser: "DAMAGE REPORT!!!" "Hull breaches on all decks, reactor core instable, fires in engineering, point defense weapons offline." "Captain, they're focusing us!" "It was an honour serving wit-" Meanwhile on a nearby carrier: "Helm, you're sure this is the right quadrant?"
  13. Well, they DID postpone the big CV rework ... Queue times shouldn't be much of an issue as long as MM allows CV teams to match against non-CV teams. Obviously MM would prefer to match CVs with CVs, but as the clans with good CVs advance up the leagues the overall population in the lower leagues would dwindle and more non-CV vs CV matches would be fought. As for the other point: none of us actually know if a team with a capable CV is always going to beat a non-CV team. Nothing like this has yet been tried in a competitive environment and I think drawing conclusions from Randoms is hazardous at the very best considering clan wars pit a lot more organized teams against one another. It's something WG simply has to try out to see if it works (which I fully believe to be workable to some degree) or if it doesn't and gets scrapped again. However what everyone knows without any single shred of doubt is that WG will NEVER figure out how to make CVs work in clan wars if they refuse to try things out with them. Plus, as I've said a couple times already (something many people seem to be forgetting), non-CV vs CV match-ups don't have to work at the highest level of gameplay, because the clans that fight it out at that level have capable CV players and aren't facing that issue in the first place.

Clan vs. Clan battes: Primetime in the future

Hmm, does that mean we're possibly looking at a future where the big server clusters might actually play with another?
  15. You don't. Which means that people have to put more into consideration on their loadouts than just putting hydro on every cruiser and Vigilance on every captain. Risks and rewards.
  16. It provides line of sight, but not more firing angles. Cover might not shield from getting spotted, but it still shields from shells because being spotted doesn't mean they actually have a line-of-fire on you. Same as a BB after some minutes of HE spam wouldn't have much in the way of strong AA, but that doesn't mean non of his clan mates in AA cruisers have the same problems as long they are close enough to help defend against strikes. Which is what I meant that it would require WG to create maps that facilitate options to position oneself as such if they were to allow asymetric CV gameplay. My overall point simply being that not having a CV needn't be an instant loss condition as some people here are stating it is. It probably won't be enough to beat a top clan, but it doesn't have to. In the lower and middle leagues that aren't filled with super unicum CV players however it would allow WG to implement CVs into the gameplay formula and in the top leagues the clans with the good CV players can duke it out against one another. Or try to make a non-CV strat work. No one is entitled to have an easy way into the top league. Banning CVs from clan wars based on the rational that smaller clans can't field a good CV is just reeking of the nonsensical assumption that smaller clans also need to be allowed to compete with the top. They don't. It's clan wars where the better clans win and the other lose, not clan communism were everyone is equal regardless of skill differences.
  17. I don't think WG has formulated a longterm plan that's quite that far reaching. Hell, I'd be surprised if they actually had a clear concept of what they'd want CVs to be like considering the balance interactions is completely reliant on an overly simplistic AA system.
  18. I beg to differ. A CVs utility is scounting and striking exposed targets. Assuming one team doesn't field a CV, that's an extra slot they can fill with another ship. That could be an AA cruiser (Des Moines says hi) or a specialized roaming DD that's meant to spot (make that for example an AA specced Grozovoy and he has plenty AA to not get easily striked out by the enemy CV). Would need a bit experimenting to make it work, but at tier X even against a competent CV on the enemy team you should be able to at the very least neutralize his threat potential to near zero and maintain roughly equal spotting potential. Might not end up working against the top clans that can also field highly competent players for each other class to try and counteract such a strategy, but it's far from being an auto-win condition for the team with a CV if the team without it puts its AA into positions where they can cover one another. Obviously also depends on the maps, but I reckon it's easier creating the map conditions that allow such no-CV vs CV team strategies than reworking the CVs alltogether to make them popular enough to saturate the clan population with enough CV players to introduce them the other way around.

Then please do not misrepresent my question. I asked if there's anyone who prefers the DCP or Spotter plane mods over the Radar or Engine Boost mods and not if one could possible squeeze out some fringe benefits. I know that the Perth and the Huang He are the two only ships in the game that benefit from the Smoke Generater modification, but just because it makes sense using them on those doesn't mean the mod is generally useful or that I'd like to have it over a Radar mod that I can use on the many, many more ships that can benefit from that upgrade.
  20. And there's the crux to my argument: is every clan entitled to compete in the higher leagues? I know this sounds elitist and to some degree it definately is, but even as watered down as it is, clan wars are meant to be competitive to some degree. There's always going to be those who lose and if that means the clans that can't field a decent CV player (and can't make a non-CV strat work, which I don't believe is impossible at tier X, a couple well positioned Des Moines will do the trick) are the losers, then so be it? At least that's my line of thought here. WG doesn't have to hold every single clan's hands all the way to the Hurricane league.
  21. Clans not having tier X CVs is not an argument. WG is perfectly willing to give around free tier X rental ships. And clans not having a competent CV captain is likewise not much of an argument, because why would they be entitled to win against clans that have one? Plenty enough clans don't have good CV players either, so the skill gap will normalize once the clans with the good ones advanced up the league brackets. Plus if a clan has no CV captain, they could always just elect not to field a CV at all and have another AA cruiser to counter possible CV enemies.

Sure, if we assume no one plays radar ships we can easily dismiss the Surveillance Radar modification ... let's also dismiss all DDs so we don't have to think about the Engine Boost modifcation.
  23. Oh look, again no aircraft carriers. I wonder why WG couldn't figure out how to make them work in clan wars with all the data they had on not playing with CVs in the pilot season.

What is your highest amount of credits?

@xXx_Blogis_xXx I summon thee. He's our clan bank you know. As soon as WG introduces shared credits for clans we're going to milk him dry.

I personally think we need another reaction smiley. I'm severely missing the "rolling eyes" and the "shrugging in disbelief".
