Aww man, my battle count just updated ... I had hoped to torture you some more until tomorrow, but the statistics engine apparently has more mercy than I do ... spoilsports.

And you only get the Juliet Charly signal flags reward once because it's locked behind a 24hr cooldown. So the second time you detonated, you got nothing (well aside from having gotten shafted by RNG). InB4someonetellsyoutousethemagazinemodupgrade.

WG happened. Also had a forum thread yesterday in this very same section that wasn't locked, yet I couldn't comment. Alongside the previous days of the forum being allergic to embedding images I'd simply say WG's servers are going FUBAR again.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

And just had @HMCite on the enemy team, again I was blessed with a team of questionable skill sets. Also a particularily charming Neptune who not only knocked out my Zao's rear guns with spectacular consistency but also felt like he had to insult me. Today seems to be one of those days specifically designed to just make me want uninstall this game. -

Just met @evilmii in a game that can only be described as retard central. It had everything and I mean bloody everything that's bad in this playerbase. Jesus f*cking Christ ... -
If you know there's more, feel free to nominate some by yourself.

Must've hit and penetrated the conning tower, which afaik also counts as citadel. -
Ah, now I can comment. Guess the mods were in the process of moving the thread as I tried beforehand. As for the initial question: no, don't agree. Just because you can see tier X MM in your Charles Martel doesn't mean the MM would actually put you in one and I'm certain most players in a tier X match would rather like to see a tier X or tier IX ship occupy the slot you'd otherwise be taking. Personally I wouldn't allow differently tiered ships in a division on principle. Whilst in some occasions and ship variations it isn't such a clear cut disadvantage for your team, in most cases it is and I doubt many people like having a tier IV ship on their team in a tier VII game or some such typical faildivision. Besides, even if you're fine with facing tier X MM in your Charles Martel considering it's what you get more often than not anyway (I know how tier VIII MM is after all), divisioning with a higher tier ship completely eliminates the chance for getting into a match as toptier and guarantees unfavourable MM for you.

Can someone point me to where I can report intentional teamkillers?
Aotearas replied to Tekacko's topic in General Discussion
Go to WG support, start a ticket with general description of events and the misconduct, supply evidence in the way of replay, possibly screenshots and timestamps, then get automated response about how the ingame automatic system handles teamkillers but they're totally sorry about what happened to you. -

Actual teamwork. Actual coordination. Between randoms. Via flippin' teamchat!!! https://s9.postimg.org/yu37md45r/shot-18.01.29_15.54.31-0335.jpg So I do the usual and announce we should go B+C as those are the caps that favour our spawns. The team actually acknowledges and they move accordingly. That alone would've been enough for me on any given day ... but when I ask if the Z-52 in front of my Minotaur would spare a smoke so I can get right into the B cap to support, the Gearing who's also going for B asks me if I want it. And I won't say no to a Gearing smoke! So he pops a nice long smoke ... and then the Z-52 announces in teamchat that his hydro is up, meaning I can keep mine on the ready for now. We easily cap B and I move to intercept a possible flanking manouver from the enemy that went to A but have to smoke defensively because a Shima is spotting me for a HIV and Hindenburg ... Z-52 says his hydro is out, I pop mine and announce it, cue spotted torps (which were in fact torps from the Gearing which had snuck around after we shooed it from B). We deal with the flank and by the time that threat is eliminated and it's essentially just mopping up the rest of the enemy team off B, I ask again if the Gearing has a smoke to spare, cue him popping one. I haven't seen such selfless teamwork and actual coordination with/from randoms in a long, long, LONG time. I actually PMed the two players to make sure to thank them properly, just dumping compliments didn't feel enough. I also had the HIV remind me his AP can overmatch Minotaur hull, ouchie. Also unlocked the Hsien Yang (going to miss the Gadjah, might actually think about raising a dedicated captain for that little bugger) ... in a later game using my Lo Yang to respecialize the captain for the Hsien Yang an enemy Chung Mu actually tried to torpedo me in my smoke with his deep-water torps. I just couldn't help but ask incredulous in chat if that really was his intention (must've been because there was no cruiser or BB anywhere even near me or the path of those torps) ... I think he was a bit miffed at that because I lost Karma after than game had a good laughing fit though, so totally worth it. Aaaand it looks like the forum is still not working properly with images. What else should I've expected really ... Tirpitz. Pink Tirpitz always fills me with overflowing confidence. -
Might? Every second game in my Khabarovsk is a Dreadnought and considering I die my fair share the ratio of Dreadnoughts in survived matches should be higher than 50% I'd say from the top of my hat. Kebab farms Dreadnoughts like mad. Just gotta annoy the enemy team for a while and they will have a go at you with plenty enthusiasm so all that's left is wiggling and trying not get blown up and that's almost guaranteed to be a Dreadnought if you survive And Kidd is pretty decent at it too, just not as good without that 50mm troll armour, but you can make up for that by a fair share by exploiting your vastly superiour detectability to disengage when it gets too hot.

Because they said players don't feel they're worth it. So why can we still get useless crap like this? No use whatsoever for this upgrade and it's even worth less than the lowest possible credit supercontainers if you'd want to sell it. I now have six of those turds sitting in my inventory, alongside six of the equally crap spotter plan modification. I used to get excited whenever I get Supercontainers, but ever since those special modifications got introduced into the SC prize pool all I get are those useless DCP and Spotter plane modifcations. So, if WG can remove unrewarding prizes from the pool, how about axing those two speshul modifications until they're changed to be actually useful? Or perhaps, just perhaps, change the entire SC reward process so that instead of getting a random modifcation, you get a token to spend on one that you actually want? Or let people exchange those they have? Because seriously, whever I get a SC now it's just "oh look, another one of these ..." and I'd rather want a standard container with useful signal flags.

The (potential) problem isn't +/-2 MM but the powerjumps at given tier intervals. It's the performance gaps between major tier transitions (most prominently VII to VIII and then VIII to IX) that are problematic and +/-1 MM won't change that, at all. Tier VII ships aren't that much inferiour to tier VIII ships ... except those tier VIII ships get an additional upgrade slot with an insanely useful stealth upgrade. Same thing again with VIII to tier IX ships, again the latter get an additional upgrade slot with upgrades that buff their performance considerably! For cruisers the jump is even bigger because from tier IX onwards cruisers get heal whereas the cruisers of lower tier don't (sole exceptions being the Atago/Takao and the RN CLs). Nevermind internal tech tree powerjumps like Colorado to North Carolina as a more extreme example, both ships with equally good players in a roughly fair fight and the NC will just sh*t all over the Colorado. And that's just one tier! +/- 2 tier MM wouldn't be half as frustrating sometimes (emphasis on the sometimes, with many ships you can play pretty well being bottom tier as long as you play it carefully) if WG actually managed to balance the tier progression halfway consistently, but they didn't and that's why we get tier IX MM where Iowas can chase a full speed running Colorado by reversing, resulting in an effective tier difference measured in "what the hell am I supposed to do here, guys?".

I should know better by now, but the sheer concentration of stupid coming out every weekend keeps surprising me ... the number of lemmingtrains today is too damn high. Also, the game just being it's usual quality programming feat: That was actually a pretty nice game, nuking Neptunes, citadeling enemy battleships but the game decided I shouldn't even get to the victory screen and instead it just froze the game up after it ended. Well, I suppose I can count myself lucky it froze AFTER the game and not in the bloody middle of it. What an unstable mess ... and naturally I haven't heard back from support in a month or so after jumping through hoops to get them 2GBs of crashdump data. But hey, not everything was bad. When the enemies are straightlining even with an angry smoke shooting at them and only react after they actually see the torps a couple hundred meters away from them ... still sad to be honest and I would've hated to be on their team watching all those BBs herpaderping straight back to port. And I see the forum is working as usual as well. GOOD JOB!!! -
What do you want on your ship? Alabama has amazing AA, amazing torpedobelt, consistent and accurate guns plus good stealth for a BB. Not the fastest of the bunch though. Roma has amazing stealth, amazing armour and good torpedobelt. AA has decent dps but lacks in range and the guns are reportedly quite inconsistent. Don't have the Roma so I can't go into detail. But if you ever played the North Carolina you know in essence what the Alabama can do. I guess the more important part of the decision would be if you want a US or an RM captain trainer (if it's important to know, the US BB captain build shares a lot of skills with the typical US heavy cruiser captain builds so you can use the Alabama to also help re-/train heavy cruiser captains, whereas we don't know a lot about the RM cruisers yet so no one can know if the same is also true for the Roma).

Anyone Been Detonated More Recently??
Aotearas replied to DirtyFilthyScoundrel's topic in General Discussion
Well, since WG so courteously eliminated all my potential detonation concerns regarding more competitive play (by which I mean they made their competitive modes into a washed down BS that I need not bother saving my Juliet Charlies for it) I've actually started using my anti-detonation signal flags on every DD. So no, I haven't actually detonated since quite some time now. Though I'm really just waiting for a patch to break the Juliet Charlie signal flags so not only do they no longer prevent detonations but instead increase the chances of it happening to 100%. I suppose I'd detonate quite a lot then ... -
Khabarovsk. Only thing the Grozovoy is particularily good at is annoying aircraft carriers and to see those with regularity at tier X you have to division up with one yourself. For everything else (torpedoing, contesting caps, smoking up allies, gunboating) other DDs are better.

Window-licking division, ruining forumites' matches and asking for directions. @Pandafaust didn't want our services and tried to shoo me away though. I just wanted to make sure you can see through those bridge windows (found the match). Retraining Jacko for the Lion (after I had finally unlocked the Monarch previously). I had a penchant for putting my big fat battleships into capture points today as @Loran_Battle can confirm. And then there was this carry. Oh dear lord I can scarcely describe this match without breaking the ToS so let me just say we had some teammates of questionable worth and that is me being very generous with the benefit of the doubt. Our division's backs hurt after that game. I never thought I'd have to gunboat against a Fletcher and a Kagerou at the same time ... and I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for that meddling New Orleans and its radar. YAY!!! Forum is broken again, won't show images, woohoo. Guess WG is escalating their feature unification system and bringing the forum on the same level as the ingame chat ... -
Aye, nothing good comes from trying to outrun the learning curve. Also very much mirror the advice to try out other ship classes aswell, if only because it means getting to know the strengths and limitations of the ships you're playing against, allowing you to better anticipate their actions.

Which game was that? The one in my Z-46? Because I forgot a lot of keybindings today -
I see so many people making the same mistake misunderstanding the original point so it bears repeating: TO wasn't complaining about new players.

Or alternatively allow players to launch and retrieve the spotter airplane whenever they want with the cooldown being determined by how long the spotter plane was in the air (say a minimum of 30 seconds flight time just to assure no one can just spam the airplane to get cheeky aircraft spotting without risking losing it to nearby AA), the shorter you used the aircraft, the shorter the cooldown until you can use it again. And the DCP modification switches the normal DCP around for a limited charge but very fast cooldown DCP like the one we have on the Gangut. Faster DCP cycling, but limited endurance if not used smartly.
