    MM go home, you're drunk!

Oh look, ye olde "teamwork is OP, plz nurf" argument. Newsflash, this game is based around teams. Teamwork is the design goal. The presence of such isn't the problem, the general absence of it is. And yes, MM is broken if it can't at least provide a tier neutral balance between the tiers and distribute radar ships evenly amongst both teams so one side doesn't have an unfair radar advantage. Or would you seriously argue that in a Domination game one team getting 5 radar ships and the other team getting none is a fair match-up? I've had such games, both sides of the medal and they're not fun eother way round because they tend to end really quick and lopsided with little chance to gain good XP and credits even for the winning team.
  2. Met @JapLance in our team and later @Dirty_Filthy_Scrublord and a clanmate on the enemy team.

    Clan Question

Take a look through here, and see if you can find a clan that sounds like you'd fit into well. As for how serious clan games are, depends entirely upon the folks you're playing with. Some clans are very competitive and do training sessions that you have to attend on a regular basis, with clearly defined hierarchies of does the strategy calling and whatnot, others are casual about it and just play as they want at the moment and everything in between.

    MM go home, you're drunk!

So no plans on trying to mirror the numbers and types of radar ships between teams?
  5. Kek, had a guy today who was bragging like mad about his Bretagne, taunting how he has a ship we don't have, blah blah. Was a real asshat about it the entire time. Guess that's another reason why such RNG dependant early access/timed exclusivity marketing ploys aren't the greatest of ideas, brings a couple really smug douchecanoes out of the woodworks.
  6. I'm just going to shamelessly post the Iowa again because I just flippin' adore the amazing design the artist threw together. 10/10, would hnnngh again.

    German cruisers

Iirc only the AP on the Yorck has abnormally floaty arcs due to a pretty insane airdrag coefficient. The HE has much better ballistics.

    German cruisers

Yorck is pretty solid at tier VII as long as you play it as a HE slinger (AP shells have horribly ballistics). Hipper is meh at tier VIII, insane AP potential against broadsides, but otherwise pretty low dpm, amazing ballistics though and effective AA. Roon at tier IX is a beast. Pretty trollish armour, decent HE dpm and it keeps the amazing german AP and ballistics. Also pretty good AA. And Hindenburg is just a monster. Imho best allround cruiser.

    Update 0.7.1 - General Feedback

How about a stable server infrastructure that doesn't DC our CV every two minutes, thus rendering him unable to do anything and giving the enemy CV free reign to do how he pleases?
  10. Just had a game with @Eclaire and @Natsumiku on the enemy team. [TTT] hags too stronk, my division mate in the CV kept disconnecting from the game every two'ish minutes, hence couldn't do anything the whole game long and we lost resoundedly (AFK Shima didn't help either, but who knows if he wasn't having connection issues too).
  11. The hell @xXx_Blogis_xXx, you gotta chill some. People are already sinking themselves. All that precious credits and XP you're scaring away man.
  12. And Tuccy and MrConway have confirmed it in the comment section of the same news article.

    New game mechanic

No, no no. What you're looking for a duds. Also, HE shells don't overpen ... and now you just reminded me of that guy who argued that people shouldn't use IFHE on the Akizuki because the 30% increased penetration would cause the HE to overpenetrate.
  14. Only thing I want from a change to the Seagull captain is to get rid of that ear bleeding voiceacting.
  15. Except that crossing the T is something out of the sailing ships era where ships had guns mounted in their broadsides so you'd have to give broadside to give, well ... a broadside and that solid shot did a lot more damage passing a ship lengthwise (raking fire/enfilade) than it did plowing through its width. And the bit about not needing recalculating for your own movement when sailing a constant course is moot considering that ships of both sides would be performing evasive manouvers. The whole tactic was already outdated by the time turreted weapon emplacements became a standard as it allowed ships to keep their firepower on target whilst manouvering and with the improvements of guns ensuring higher accuracy and longer firing ranges, nevermind the introduction of radar assisted range finding and targeting the entire point of crossing the T had de facto become obsolete in practice.

    stopping at bayern

German BB guns are definately temperamental. That won't change up the tiers. Neither will the huge superstructure, but the hull and deck armour on those ships is very HE resiliant due to thicker armour plating so once your superstructure has gotten saturated, the damage HE spammers can deal to you drops significantly.

Time for WG to remove Steven Seagal... allegations of rape

If there's ever going to be an A.I. rebellion a lá Terminator then it's because he tortured a sentient smartphone as he was phoning his voiceacting in. I'm serious, the ingame Seagal sounds like some bloke at WG just put a recorder next to the phone and had him rattle off a list of lines.

    Vive La France collection

Oh, neither am I walking with torches and pitchforks just yet. Just making sure they're properly sharpened and WG knows what's coming to them if they're truly going to do this thing as it currently looks like ... who knows how much of that news article is testing the waters to see with how much they can get away with.
  19. Well, I suppose with everything said we can only agree to disagree on that subject.

How to deal with CV hate and other things?

That. If it's not one of your teammates who wanted you to be his personal AA and scouting pet that's mad at you, or that one ship that had just smoked up to starting gunning away at a battleship before you nuked it with a good strike, then it's going to be the enemy team. Hell, it might just be one of those CV PTSD knobs that just report every CV player on principle because he got nuked a couple times too many.

    Vive La France collection

I knew I saw that ~30% figure somewhere. Still reeks of cashgrab and P2W when players more often than not were to be forced to pay for additional containers to complete the collection and get the special captain.
  22. Both the article aswell as an answer from Tuccy to one of the comments state that the ships are permanent, much like the RN BBs you could unlock via the blue print mission, with the only difference that you can actually play the ships before the line gets implemented proper.
  23. Precisely. Also (as I'm certain Bellegar is aware) different people learn at different speeds for different subjects. One person might just take the plunge into tier VIII, get his/her nose beaten down and realize he must've done something wrong and then work on rectifying what he thinks are his mistakes. Most people will take a good couple more games to realize they aren't doing as well as they'd like to and then proceed to look for clues. Many, many more people might realize they aren't doing as well as they'd like but won't go actively hunting for informations outside of the immediate vicinity (loading screen tips, ingame ship characteristics, etc.) and instead learn by trial and error. That isn't a bad learning tactic, but it takes time. And here one could easily argue that trial and error through the tiers III and upwards offers a great deal more experience than starting the same process at tier VIII. And that isn't even including the sort of people that need an external nudge to even realize they could improve. Bellegar and I actually inadvertedly answered most of that question. Pretty sure every teacher in existence would tell you that letting people decide how and when to learn without sufficient experience to guide them is doomed to failure. We don't let kids decide to learn stochastics on their first day in elementary school for a reason. And I didn't contradict myself when I said that WG can't define how their game learning curve works. I'm saying that whatever WG thinks an acceptable entry point or allowing players to freely chose theirs isn't in accordance with how individuals learn effectively. Maybe some of that meaning got lost in the semantics as I'm not a native speaker. What I want WG to encourage is for people to learn the game. To encourage people to actively play the objectives. To encourage people to experiment. For example people mostly playing just one class miss out on three quarters of the game, yet we have so many players that play almost exclusively battleships, just for their iconic nature. Getting those people to play other ship classes also means they'd potentionally buy more those classes' premium ships too when beforehand they wouldn't think of it. And I very much agree that it is also our responsibility as the community to deal with the game's flaws. And if that means I feel like I have to give WG flak for what I believe to be bad design then I will do so. Last but not least: That would be another thing. WG has been pushing a lot of battleship content for quite some time. At what point does adjusting game design become a self-fulfilling prophecy if the developement direction keeps being steered towards short term optimization. How do you propose would cruisers start selling better than battleships when the game is literally oversaturated with their hardcounter (battleship overpopulation is something WG has admitted is something they don't want, yet apparently the game is still being optimized to sell battleships if you'd look at the numbers of premium battleships being introduced compared to other premium ships).
  24. If you wish to make the "their rules, so shut up" argument and just accept the status quo, by all means do as you wish. But saying that I'm naive for allegedly not being aware that WG is a business is simply false. I'm fully aware of that and have given that fact it's due, which you'd know had you bothered to follow my entire argumentation when I had said that such blatant milking may be profitable in the short term, but bad game design in the long term. Oh and just to make sure we're on the same page, no one can just define a learning curve as that is an inherently individual process. The only thing WG can do is provide informations and encourage the correct use of said informations to stimulate each player's learning experience. Saying that WG can just decide that starting the game at tier VIII is appropriate because they make the rules is woefully ignorant because quite simply that's not how learning works.
