Met @MFour, @Natsumiku and @rvfharrier on the enemy team today. Sadly there was no way carrying my team though I did my darndest, which included head-on rushing a full HP Neptune and sinking it just so I can get a second cap for my team. Had another neat moment when I landed 7 torps out of my total 8 per volley on a couple Kurfürsts though. That was at the start, where I still had hopes despite my divisionmate in the Gearing having had very questionable positioning ideas and got ripped to shreds early on. I could've even sunk the Iowa at the end of the game if I had had just a couple more seconds because my torps where ready and I was just about to get a firing angle on hims ~3km away. That would've left only 6 ships for me to kill in order to drag that team to victory, but alas the clock saved you guys

Because it disproves your argument about WG balancing ships with tiers and upgrades in mind. How bloody hard is that to understand?

Naw, think blacklisting specific upgrades for specific ships for balance reasons is easier than trying to come up with sub-categories.

Until you realize your DWT can't even hit cruisers and your mainguns are even worse than the silver ship (Kagerou) counterpart. Unless all of that has changed (haven't watched the vid yet) from the previously known Asashio characteristics, it's only good at torping BBs and crap at fighting everything else.

Hmm, now that is an interesting idea. Every ship can mount every single upgrade (subject to possible tweaks, don't think say a Khaba needs Aiming Systems mod 3 for increased range for example), but are limited to a certain bulk/load that limits how many upgrades a ship can carry. So better upgrades take up more bulk and lwoer tier ships can't mount much more than one of those, but higher tier ships can mount more. Would be a pretty nice way to balance ships without artificially gating any specific high quality equipment behind ship tiers.

Not sure of intentional, but the irony with that thread title is strong since Flamu is also one of the many people that are/were vocal about the prolification of BBs. A premium one-trick-pony that is strong against BBs (and hilariously weak against everything else!) doesn't do much to change that. I'll give thanks for making me aware that there's a new Flamu video out though, going to watch it sometime later, cheers.

And as I mentioned in the later edit of my comment, all such is fine until WG decides to screw their own rules. Anyhow, that comment of mine was mostly aimed at the notion that a higher tier ship needed to be compensated for losing access to an exclusive upgrade that improves it's already better characterstics compared to a lower tier ship. I personally have little issues with the system in general, but it does result in some pretty lopsided performance gaps, the DD performance jump going from tier VII to VIII is just one such example where the system's flaws make themselves readily known.

And we can't have BBs be nerfed, no no no. Where would that madness end? First you nerf the BBs, then you buff the cruisers, then you fix the CVs and sooner than you can google the BBingo those poor, poor battleships won't be dominating the MM anymore. The horror, the horror, the horror. Now in earnest, do you really mean to argue that tier IX BBs would need compensation against their tier VIII peers if WG removed that upgrade option? Like, are the typical advantages of a ship a tier higher not enough and it absolutely has to have that extra upgrade to perform? Belfast begs to differ. I still have no bloody idea why that ship at tier VII can slot tier VIII upgrades, or why it would even ever need be able as such in the first place. Let's also not forget the Atago which at tier VIII has a heal, something which until the release of the RN CLs and the Graf Spee (which could arguably be excluded as a viable example due to its unique gameplay characteristics that place it outside the traditional role of a cruiser at its tier) was entirely exclusive to tier IX or X cruisers.

So, first I had this lovely and totally balanced MM: Enemy gets flat out better DDs, plus two radar ships when we get zero. And the very next game MM truly shat a brick with this: Only 10 ships per team as opposed to the normal 12. And it isn't exactly fringe hour gaming right now, so what the hell is going on with the MM? Did some intern spill all his vodka over the servers again?

FPS isn't dependant on WG servers correct (though microlagging can very much look like FPS issues so there's that), but as for the rest ... you do now that there are genuine server issues going on, right? Lucky for you if aren't having those issues, but you can't simply assume the problems don't exist just because you don't suffer them personally.

Premium ship distribution is typically not much of an issue as planety silver ships are good enough counterparts though premiums can be more worrysome if they are being played by a much more experienced player alongside an abnormally high skilled captain for its tier *cough*19 point captain at tier IV*cough*. But the fact that the enemy team there got two radar ships (Belfasts) whereas you got none is definately unfair, especially in a tier bracket where no silver ships have radar. Hell even according to the updated MM it should've attempted to distribute nations around equally between both teams, which ought to have resulted in one Belfast per team but even that is apparently too bloody hard for the MM algorithm. At the absolute minimum, MM MUST be changed to try and balance radar ships between teams. @MrConway

No, no. no. He wasn't hiding behind you. He was escorting you, providing AA and serving as a deterrent to surface ships that would otherwise think you an easy kill. Besides that's what the Iowa was specifically designed for, being a fast battleship that could keep up with the fast aircraft carriers. Show a bit more appreciation for his dutiful commitment!

Well, unless we'd assign you to a non-guest server group, the only channel you'd be able to be in and talk would be our Zerg Spawn Area, soo ... ... Pzycho totally should've blacked that out though. We don't need Groupies stalking and demanding procreation. We've got windows to lick!

We should probably be lucky we could play at all considering the server issues haven't been completely resolved yet. Clanbattles primetime indeed.
