  1. Lolwat? What part of "can't defend caps against radar-assisted pushes" is failing to state the influence of the radar ships? What proof would you require of me to prove they were essential to winning the game? I hope you don't seriously ask me to tell you at precisely which point the use of radar decided the game because that is simply ludicrous. The information presented at the moment is one team had four radar ships whereas the other had zero, in a game mode where control over static points of the map is deciding. Unless you fail to recognize the advantages of radar in such a circumstance I don't understand what more information you'd need. Or alternatively, can you (or anyone else that seems so furiously opposed to the idea of balancing radar ships between teams) make a coherent argument about why such a change were detrimental to the game?
  2. Do you really don't see the obvious gameplay advantage that one team with plenty radar ships has against one that has none in a Domination game?
  3. It's a logical consequence ... if there's too much of one thing in a shared environment, then there's too little of the other. Can't be that hard to understand.
  4. Except that if you're toptier too often, the chance that the tiers lower than yours end up being bottomtiered in correspondance to fill the MM. Purely +/- 0 or +/- 1 games are more rare than +/- 2 games after all, ergo any tier that gets drawn into games as toptier a disproportionally high (or low) amount also effects the MM for ships of the previous/next tiers too. As far as I understand the performance difference between tiers in WoT is much more pronounced than in WoWs, particularily regarding shell penetration and armour thickness between the tiers. A bottom tier tank in WoT might not be able to penetrate a toptier tank at all from the front whereas he might penetrate you regardless of angling (in addition to other advantages the higher tier tank might have), whilst in WoWs any ship can damage other ships reliably (the only thing coming close is the overmatching mechanic for battleships as hull armour thresholds are tied to tiers).
  5. Karma did start at zero for everyone when it was introduced. And except for the slightly increased number of compliments (which I hardly ever get to make full use of) and reports (which still isn't enough to report all the chat twats and AFKers) Karma is still just a useless number that goes up and down on a whim. Have a good game and you're just as likely to end up getting reported by salty losers as you are to get complimented from teammates you helped (in fact I'd say you're less likely to get complimented).
  6. Derp, forgot we have North and Northern Light ... WG, y u halfmeasure?
  7. Fair enough. Just saying that the difference between 34% and 55% is too large for both of them to be considered on the same level, meaning that one of them is fine and the other isn't. If you're fine with 55%, then 34% isn't fine and the same would be true vice versa. The difference is just too massive and if I were to return to Octavian's "looks less pretty" statement, too massive to take his words as anything but a tongue-in-cheek understatement. Either that or as an admission that WG simply doesn't care.
  8. Not the point of my argument. I'm saying that worldwide averages can't be used to describe regional server data, because they won't match and which is the reason why that 55% figure is incorrect to use to describe MM distribution for any server. Personally I would prefer people not oversimplifying things to the point they spread misleading informations. Selfmade problem right there. 34% to 55% is quite a deviation range, don't you think? Anyhow, I just pointed out that your personal 3x 1/3 distribution you're fine with is a long way off what WG thinks is fine. Yes, that purpose being to talk down the prominence of premium ammunition, despite the circumstance that the 5% figure is just outragously incorrect for some tiers in WoT, especially the higher up you go. Or if we were to not assume a malicious intent to mask premium ammunition use and they simply blurted that number out without any necessary tier filtering, it's still hilariously misleading. I don't even have to play WoT to know that 5% figure is hilariously out-of-context, just the bit of information I have accumulated watching videos about WoT (it's one of those games I enjoy watching, but can't think of ever enjoying much playing it) is plenty enough to dismiss the reliability of that statistic.
  9. You don't need to, we have the correct EU numbers: 34% toptier and 40% bottom tier (so that leaves 26% middle tier). But yeah, quite like that "only 5% of ammunition fired is Gold" information nonsense this recent 55% worldwide figure just shows how wrong global stats/averages are when not properly filtered for servers, tiers, tank/ship class etc.. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the MM distribution at tier VIII varies noticably between BBs and other classes (which the BB overpopulation being a thing it's probably easier to fill a game with tier VIII BBs than with cruisers). Never trust statistics unless you fiddled the numbers yourself ...
  10. FINALLY the got rid of the Stupid-Magnet D cap on North. If they can now do the same for the A cap on Neighbours ...
  11. There is no disagreeing, math is math. Worldwide averages won't match region server data unless each server by some statistical miracle performed exactly the same (which they don't!). And there are ONLY regional servers, so the numbers won't match the reality any way you put it. Which by definition makes them incorrect, i.e.: false. And we know exactly how false that information was when Octavian amended his comment with the actual EU averages, which lo and behold are NOTHING like the worldwide averages and even stated that EU server tier VIII MM isn't looking too good. How can it thus be correct to use worldwide averages with the intent to argue that all servers are fine if quite evidently NOT all servers are fine? So if 34% toptier on EU is fine with the 3x 1/3 rule, how come 55% toptier on other servers is fine when it clearly violated that same distribution rather significantly? Which is fine now, 34% or 55%? It can't be both, the difference is too big to call them the same. Anyway you try to look at it, it's wrong. Plain and simple.
  12. Collecting data for one purpose is that, sharing data for another purpose is another. Arguing that tier VIII MM is completely fine and using numbers as evidence that aren't true for ANY regional server is simply false, period. And going from 55% toptier from worldwide stats to 34% for the proper EU stats is quite a significant change, isn't it?
  13. Which makes them misleading because every single server cluster is regional and not worldwide ...

how is this even possible??! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

^That. With the permanent camouflage on the Moskva, you save 50% service cost (~64k credits) and gain 20% more credits (~49k in this case). If we added those 64k service cost and substracted the 49k from your total credits, you would've also lost credits pretty much equal to the Hindenburg game.
  15. Engine power is one thing, but the RN CLs in particular are unique with their ludicrously low water resistance/drag. Those ships can keep accelerating in a hard turn where other ships bleed speed like mad. Can be a double-edged sword though, because it also means they take a looong time to decelerate, even at full reverse and using the rudder to try and bleed speed.

    FRENCH COLLECTION

Well, finished the missions and got enough non-duplicates that I could unlock the remaining two collectibles with duplicates to finish the collection and get myself that captain just a couple minutes ago. Only got the Bretagne unlock though. Though WG is giving some more chances to unlock a handful containers so maybe I get lucky with another early access unlock, or two, or three.

    Destroyer numbers

It's typically not the number of DDs that's deciding (barring the odd occasion where one team get's only one DD, the other gets two and thus essentially a free cap in Domination, which can be a bothersome start) but the amount of back-up they have in case two DDs clash (and in the higher tiers, how many ships on your team have radar, which is MUCH more important to balance between the teams than DD numbers imho). In that case, I'd prefer having a DD less and a (radar) cruiser more that helps me shoot up the enemy DD ... tends to resolve the DD number advantage rather nicely. That is of course assuming those cruisers actually help, or even feel save enough to help depending on whether the BBs are doing their job attracting aggro and tanking so the entire enemy team has other things to worry about than happily focusing cruisers that actually want to support DDs.

    Detonation Cancer Extravaganza

I don't have quite that much faith in WG. After all it took them this long to finally admit that getting detonated first thing in the game isn't as "fun and engaging" as they seem to think it is.

    Detonation Cancer Extravaganza

Unless of course the first hit also happens to put you below 75% HP, in which case all's fairgame for the detonation mechanic and you still can get detonated by the first volley that hits you.

how is this even possible??! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

There's good economic reason for that though. If playing the high tiers were just as profitable as the low and midtiers, people would generally stick to the hightiers and mess up the MM population for the mid tiers.

    Karma counter botched up?

  22. Minotaur with speedflag can pretty easily keep up with a Shimakaze, especially if you do the occasional turn (you bleed MUCH more speed doing even slight turns than the Minotaur will), or at least long enough to certainly feel like an eternity if he's shooting you all the way. Also depends on how efficient your route is. If you take a sweeping approach (say to stay clear of ambush positions) and the ship following you is taking a more direct course that also helps migitate the speed difference (surprised a clanmate with that as my Warspite was keeping pace with his DD and he was wondering how I could stay so close despite the Warspite being so slow).

Also, those 90k consumable replacement cost is setting you back a good bit. Running full premium consumables at tier X without premium account means that you more or less cover the costs with a good game and only make credits with a really good one.

    Toxic Moaning Community

We seem to be playing different games. Usually there's no communication at all. Sometimes there's people raging, but certainly not quite often enough that I'd say it's particularily noteworthy, especially when compared to other online multiplayer games I've played. Overall I'd say WoWs is par for the course for an online multiplayer, possibly even tame compared with other F2P games from what I hear about other games like WoT, LoL, DoTA, etc..
  25. Oh boy, that game. Still salty that for some reason my DD drifted out of the cap. I was literally sitting stationary at the edge of the capture zone, spotting and ready to nope the hell out of there as soon as I get detected and for some bloody, unfathomable reason my ship drifted out of the cap circle, just before finished to cap it. ANd when I got back I couldn't capture it before someone else blocked it. This game, man. Also met @absolute_justice in his Shimakaze on the enemy team today. That match was a resounding loss because our DDs died like flies and our BBs were allergic to capture points or being anywhere near the enemy at all. I mean we had a Survivability Expert Montana ... And the MM wasn't nice for my Saint Louis anyway: 5 BBs that want to nuke my cruiser and 5 DDs to ensure I'm spotted. MM like that is the reason people don't want to play cruisers anymore.
