Bad teams: what do you do about them?

If possible, carry them screaming and kicking to victory despite their efforts as long as there's any chance for it. If however the situation has deteriorated to such a low that victory is de facto impossible, I'll just switch gears and try to drag the loss out for as long as I can farm damage, more XP and credits for me that way.
  2. Almost forgot, I also ran into @Strefs on the same team in his Missouri as I was collecting my first win of the day in my Yugumo. Match went largely uneventful because the enemy team simply crumbled, though I did get to enjoy a straightlining Conqueror letting himself getting devastated by my torps as he sailed straight into five of them (could've been more, but he didn't have the HP to survive more).
  3. I felt almost guilty playing this game ... Retraining my PA DD captain for the Chung Mu on my Lo Yang and the stars aligned: toptier (do I hear 55%?) and who would've thought this would happen on a Sunday, but the other DD on my team actually coordinated! Teamwork with randoms on a weekend, can you believe that? Also, enemy team had a triple BB division ... how I love seeing those on enemy teams, easy farming barring some rare exceptions ... and they actually went to the same side I headed too Well, a bamboozled Kagerou caught in my hydro and some torps later I ended up with 15 torpedo hits (straightlining BBs were a recurring theme today, I had devastated a Conqueror with my Yugumo earlier that day). Barely missed the kill shots on two ships that would've given me the Kraken, but alas someone else's shells where faster.

  5. Met @_DeathWing_ and his clanmates today, sadly we had a very special Taiho on our team who somehow managed to get up to tier IX in CVs with just autodropping and having no clue at all how to use fighters ... I mean he let one fighter squadron go past an entire cv strike airgroup, ignored them just so he could respot the enemy CV on the other side of the map (with zero ships left that could actually shot it, since he also didn't believe in intercepting strikes ...). Rather than removing manual attacks in the low tier CVs, WG should simply remove autodrops entirely, no point enabling such amoebae.
  6. Derped again ... I blame my two nightshifts I just had. I should just go to bed now
  7. I noticed the same thing with the other cruisers but I'll just quote this here since it's easier ... Weren't the US CLs supposed to be able to slot hydro, DefAA and radar in seperate slots so they can use all three? What happened to that? Whoopsie, I checked the Mk.17 guns, not the Mk.16.
  8. 10 seconds reload on tier VIII Cleveland ... well, those stats are stockhull, so perhaps it gets a turret upgrade, because given the technical data of those 6"/47 Mk.16 the RoF was 8-10 per minute, so with 10 seconds reload 6 shells per minute is way below the normal, particularily for a tier VIII CL. Mogami 155 also have 10 seconds but she gets an addition 3 barrels and has torpedoes as other means to inflict damage. Edinburgh gets 7,5 seconds with the same number of guns, also gets torps and smoke to use her dpm in relative safety. A gun upgrade that buffs the RoF to 8 shells per minute (7,5 seconds reload) sounds the most plausible for me. Maybe even higher (10 rpm/6 seconds reload) if Cleveland stays limited with its range as it looks right now.

At tier V OP will never see the Tachibana. Division tier range is +/- 1 (still no idea why WG simply doesn't turn faildivisions off by default, but whatever) so a Tachibana could only ever get as high as tier IV MM (tier III still gets protected +/- 1 MM, so even a faildiv will see tier IV maximum). OP is simply exaggerating without any understanding of the game mechanics and even when told the contrary insists it's not his fault. This guy is going to graduate from newbie straight to n00b, with honours.
  10. Domination game, enemy gets 4 radar ships, we get zero. You can guess how that went, no way for our team to hold the caps against radar assisted pushes from the enemy. @MrConway, @Tuccy, @Kandly, @Sub_Octavian, when will MM finally balance radar ships between teams?

No it's not, You just seem to have little idea how to deal with that kind of situation. First thing you should do is visit this forum's newcomer subsection and read the pinned guides, particularily the one about spotting and detection mechanics.

Germany lost, but eh ... still better than Canada
  13. I should rephrase that: Perhaps WG could split the map into two tier brackets, the current map stays up to tier VII and another version of the same map tweaked to be bigger could be made available for tier VIII-X. In fact that's an approach WG might consider for other maps aswell, Trident comes to mind as another very enjoyable map that I'd like to see more often (though in this case the devs probably would also have to place some more strategic islands or tweak their heights in addition to scaling the mapsize). Not sure if I just remember that incorrectly for some weird reason or if that was changed since, but I could swear I had a couple games on Estuary with tier IX ships in the teams ... afaik Estuary is a map up-to-including tier IX games.
  14. It is a bit small for high tiers, but a pretty nicely designed map, so I very much like playing it. Just make it larger and tweak the spacing.

    Year preview 2018

Don't think there was anything on the WoWs portal, though someone digged out a rough outline from their Facebook page: French BBs US CL line split RN DDs Those where the major bullet points if I remember correctly. I'm sure someone will link it, I'm too lazy for that right now.

Manual drop not working [NOT tier 4-5]

CV UI is notoriously fickle. I don't play much CV myself but when I do (insert meme picture) I do regularily notice that the game confuses orders, such as my clicking a squad to move to a position and it then decides to go someplace complete different (and I had decidedly not accidentally clicked someone on the minimap!). Probably the single most deciding factor as to why I'm actually not playing much CV at all, despite the fact that I find it more skill rewarding (aside from BS AA RNG where some no-AA ship somehow rolls a natural twenty and nukes half a squadron worth of aircraft in a couple seconds ...).
  17. Pretty sure though that ships are generally considered female by the crew, as every named ship is paired with a female pronoun: Die Prinz Eugen Die Bismarck Die Admiral Hipper Die Nürnberg Etc. pp.. Us germans just have a wierd pronoun fetish and they are typically assigned based on how the corresponding noun ends. For example "der Korvette" just sounds wierd for German native speakers as something ending with a "~te" sound is typically female, like the name Riselotte for example if I may just borrow your nickname for that purpose. Same as something with "~er" is typically associated with masculinity ("er" is German for "he" for example). And anything that doesn't conviniently fall into either category just gets the neutral "das" slapped to it. For any better explanation, you'd have to ask a linguist and be prepared for a couple hours lecturing ...

    Genuine Clan hack or chance?

At what time did that happen? Because yesterday we experienced a lot of DCs in clanwars aswell. In one game an enemy Yue Yang DCed which gave us a deciding kill and snowballed into an easy victory and two games later (in our last game at the end of the CB window ~22:15 ish) two guys on our team got DCed at the start of the battle and the other team also said some of theirs had dropped. I suspect the server hamster were revolting again.
  19. I can likewise only speak of my own experience, but I find that matches with unequally distributed raders to not be much of rarity, though most of the time it is manageable to some degree if the difference isn't too absurd. But games where one team gets zero radar whereas the other team has plenty is just balancing BS on a whole different level. No way you can attempt to work around that unless the enemy radar ships graciously let themselves get nuked in due time.
  20. You do realize that you've ripped that argument way out of context and that it wasn't even one that has anything to do with what I was argumenting with you, right? That comment in question was in response to Allied_Winter who had said (at that point of discussion) that either way is fine, 55% toptier and 34% toptier. You really should work on your reading comprehension.
  21. It's really not. Anyone who has a brain and a modicum of sense on how to play his ship and the map he's on has an invaluable tool to use with radar. If both teams are equally skilled with roughly equally well coordinated teamwork, but one team gets radar and the other doesn't then the one with the radar ships has an advantage that can't be understated! Sure there's plenty potatoes around that have no idea how and when to use it or put themselves in stupid positions where their radar is absolutely useless or they die before they can make good use of it, but for the sake of balancing discussion I have to assume people know how to play instead of being oxygen murdering idiots that can't make a powerful tool work in their favour.
  22. Still prefer this one: Damn you EA, damn you to hell for what you've done with that franchise!

[SCRUB] The Scrubs - Recruitment thingy

Dear lord please not another brony ... Study Kantai Collection instead:
  24. Only if they can isolate the presence of radar as a dominant factor. Not sure how detailed the telemetry WG is gathering is for them to reasonable rule out other influences like relative player skills (radar ship is useless if it's hugging the mapborder or dies first thing after a yolo rush) but I somehow doubt they could produce a conclusive dataset that beats good old common sense ... though then again as some people have helpfully demonstrated, common sense appears to be short supply. Adding another rule to the MM algorith to spread radar ships between teams to ensure not one team gets a massive advantage should be the easier thing to change (they have already implemented such a change in regards to ship nationalities,). Certainly easier than trying to rebalance ships, plus making radar ships squishier doesn't necessarily make them any less effective, a radar ship settled behind solid island cover near a cap can still radar a contested cap and light up enemy DDs for the team to focus, all whilst being completely save.
