[SCRUB] The Scrubs - Recruitment thingy

Second page? What are we, [TTT] !? As penance y'all shall karaoke this song:
  2. Retraining my PA DD captain for the Yue Yang: Hue hue hue. Not only was I blessed with toptier MM, but also neatly oblivious BBs. Only way this could've been even more perfect would've been no CV and Domination mode instead of Standard so I could maliciously abuse my 5,4km hydro. Alas, what I got was plenty good enough.

Awesome changes to Shimakaze and Prinz Eugen

Still pretty good. 200m on Yue Yang, 300m on Gearing, 400m on Grozovoy and 500m on Z-52 ... not going to bother comparing to the Khabarovsk. I can work with that. I already had lots of fun gjosting other DDs in my Kagero and Yugumo, now that the Shima can do the same I'm actually kind of looking forward to her ... once they get rid of those bloody 20km duds.

Awesome changes to Shimakaze and Prinz Eugen

Shima concealment buff is one option I had been thinking about too, even about the same numbers that I was brainstorming. Still not much motivated to buy her as long as she still has the godawful 20km torps in stock configuration and I still don't feel like blowing free XP on a tier X ship only get decent torpedoes on a torpedoboat ... As for Prinz Eugen, am I reading this correctly that ONLY the Hipper gets the reload buff? Heal is nice to have, but for a tier VIII cruiser in the current BB meta the heal isn't that much of a difference. Personally I'd prefer the dpm buff over the heal for the Eugen.
  5. Move Akizuki to tier IX, gib Super-Akizuki as tier X and everything will be daijoubu! Though if WG has some top sekrit documents about a ship design that would outclass even a Super-Akizuki, I wouldn't mind getting a glorious IJN Origami ship, paper folded a thousand times!

The sound effect after receiving citadel hit

Yeah, not a fan of it either. I actually like hearing what's going on, thank you very much.
  7. Any chance we'll be able to buy freshly released premium ships via doubloons? I'm sitting on quite a number of such, but no premium ships to spend them on ... quite literally after WG pulled the vast majority of premium ships that were previously purchasable ingame from the techtree. I'd really, REALLY like if one could get at least the basic ship bundle (ship+port slot) for its equivalent price in doubloons rather than spending real money or waiting an undefined period of time in the hopes of it being cycled into the ingame techtree.
  8. It seems that after my yesterdays improbable and disgustingly horrible bad luck with teams (I believe I totalled at 10 defeats in a row because in EVERY SINGLE match of those, my team went full lemmingtrain away from the objectives and enemy), today's luck is compensating. Le shotgun doing what a shotgun does. Was actually a pretty intense game which only makes the victory all the much sweeter. Our CVs did a good job (especially the Independence) so the rest of our team could focus on playing the objectives which is what tipped the battle in our favour as we ended up with better zone control for the better part of the match, even when by the end of it both teams were down to just one BB and both CVs each. I was actually about to be on the receiving end of both those CVs' strikes, but I landed the killing blow on the enemy BB before they could strike me (they were less than 4km away from my ship) which tipped our points over the 1000 mark and I lived. And then there was this game: And let me tell you, it was hilarious for all the wrong reasons. Because we had a very, very, VERY speshul Yamato on our team. Said Yamato's first actions in the match were to declare the match lost and reverse straight out of his spawn position. Yes, you read that right: reverse. He also had the HP captain perk on his Yamato. Now, that on its own would just be sad, however that guy wasn't done yet (BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!!!) ... because soon after, he started pinging my position on the minimap. I had put myself snugly next to an island overseeing the archipelago capture point, shielding me from enemy BB fire whilst having a clear field of fire into the cap and beyond. Made good use of it too thanks to no shortage of targets. So yeah, as I'm sitting there, supporting our DD and generally being a real PITA for the enemy in that position, our precious Yamato keeps pinging my map position. Then writes "reported" in chat. Now, just before that, our Edinburgh had actually hit our Donskoy with a torpedo from second line and said Donskoy was in the same map grid, so I thought little of it and continued what I was doing until it was save enough for me to move up without getting insta-gibbed by the two enemy Yamatos, their Missouri and their North Carolina (the reason why I had previously put myself next to the island rather than sailing guns blazing in the open). And as I was moving up into the cap, he pings my position on the map again ... so I ask him what he wants. You ready for this now? Keep in mind this is coming from a Survivability Expert Yamato who reversed from his spawn position (and had at no point of the game actually advanced forward enough to get in front of his original spawn position) ... He called me a "camper idiot" I mean, if you'd go by amount of distance travelled in a specific interval of time, then yeah, you might say I was camping that island for a little while ... but meanwhile the accuser is sitting more than 15km further away yet after (and I can't emphasize this enough) REVERSING OUT OF HIS SPAWN POSITION ... I8 was the northermost position this guy ever occupied, when he spawned. In a Survivability Expert Yamato! And he calls me a "camper idiot". This was just hilarious

Guys, we need a haka (wouldn't say no to a wardance though, maybe both?):
  10. This. It just happens that the one for the CV is more easily distinguishable from the other ones.

Don't misunderstand me, I found that thread absolutely hilarious. First time I read it I was in stitches from laughing.

    General feedback

The new heavy damage sound (shell shock silence and audible heartbeat) is just unnecessary. I'd like to actually hear the match, not suddenly have my audio muted and a heartbeat pumping in my ears just because I took some arbitrarily large amount of damage. It is distracting at best and utterly annoying at worst. Can we at least have an option to turn off such fluff audio (same as the main battery reload bell jingle)? It's already bad enough I had to basically mute the environment audio just to hear my mates over TS.

    Ideas for Cruiser/Battleship Rebalancing

I don't want them to be guided missile accurate or some such. Just reduce the amount of RNG dispersion significantly enough that shells typically go where you aimed at, not just in the rough general direction of where you aimed at, thus making them a lot more consistent (and thus also consistently dodgeable).

    Dude, Where's My Spaceship?

I don't know about you, but if the news says "mission", I kinda expect to see those in my missions log. And if I don't see them, I kinda assume that maybe WG somehow messed up the implementation (wouldn't be the first time WG messed up something). Which brings us back to his original question: why the need to hide the mission? Let's assume for a second that WG had in fact messed up the implementation. If the missions are hidden anyway, how would we know? Conversely, how much easier would it be for us players to point WG to a potential mistake when missions weren't hidden? You know, like "you guys said there would be missions, I don't see them" ...

PLZ GET RID OF the emblems

OP has a mod that removes emblems. Ergo he no longer sees emblems. Same as anyone else who don't enjoy emblems. Let's intersect here and just state what should've been bloody obvious: the ones who don't use the mod quite probably like those emblems. So what OP then demands next (despite the fact that his personal problem has been solved via the application of a mod) is to remove the emblems alltogether, for everyone. Because apparently not seeing the stuff he doesn't like isn't enough. No one is allowed to see the stuff he doesn't like, even if those others do like it. What? You do know that quite contrary to the lulling words of loved ones that tell you you're their world ... the actual, real world doesn't revolve around just you, right?

    Great changes to HMS Cossack

Alright, I done messed up, sorry folks. I gotmentally stuck on the horrible firing arcs of the A and X turrets that I didn't realize that they don't have to have overlapping firing angles since the other turret would be taking over so to speak. In my defence, I just woke up ...

Random battles - can I choose type I wanna play?

Hmm, maybe you should try to engage the enemy every once in a while. As for the original question: no. Simply because the ships are balanced around all game modes, not for specific ones. If I could change around which game mode I want to play, what's stopping em from disabling everything except standard battles whenever I want to play my Khabarovsk? I wouldn't have to worry about having to push capture zones and could freely farm damage in my gunboat. The entire balancing aspect of the Khaba's poor concealment would be effectively waived simply because I chose to play standard battles only. The game is standard battles, domination AND epicenter. Deal with it.

    Great changes to HMS Cossack

Yeah, but that still means the only turrets with decent gun angles are the B and Y turrets. A and X still necessitate to show almost perfect broadside to bring them on target if they didn't improve the gun angles. So that's two guns with good angles, not three. And with that I'm back to what I initially said: unless you straightline nicely broadside, you still only have 4 guns in the Cossack. And just to make sure you don't misunderstand me, I'm perfectly aware that the old WiP Cossack whose video I linked has the A+B+X gun configuration and the new Cossack would replace the AA/secondary gun on the Y position with another main battery. The gun angles for the other guns are still absolutely shite though, unless WG improved them since the last WiP version.

    Great changes to HMS Cossack

Then WG must've adjusted the remaining turret clearances aswell, because last time I saw the Cossack in action (I think it was a Flamu preview video) the fore- and rearmost turrets had absolutely abysmal firing angles and essentially could only be fired together at a target to the side of the ship if you showed more or less perfect broadside. Found the video for reference (old WiP):

    Great changes to HMS Cossack

Still only effectively 4 guns with those turret angles unless you want to straightline broadside on the entire time you're shooting.

    Ideas for Cruiser/Battleship Rebalancing

I'll just regurgitate what I've posted on numerous occasions: I propose two fundamental changes. First of all, any AP shell that overmatches armour will result in a regular penetration at most. No more overmatching weak armour/hull sections and then smashing through the citadel armour layer next to it. If you overmatch something, you get a normal penetration and that's it (unless you overmatch AND overpenetrate). Secondly, make BBs considerably more accurate (yes, you read that right). What would that achieve? A more skill-dependant interaction between player and target. I think everyone who's played cruisers for long enough knows how it feels when you see a BB shooting you from 18km, you instantly make a hard turn to dodge and all but one shell miss you ... except that one shell that went nowhere near the BB actually aimed (and where you never where due to the evasive turn) but dispersion put it soo much off-target that it manages to hit you by fluke, overmatches your aft hull and then citadels you. With my proposed change, no more citadels through your arse, just normal pens (still hurts, but not as much). And with BBs being much more accurate, dodhing becomes proportionally more effective, since there's much less shells being guided by RNG dispersion. Shells go where the enemy shot at and if you're not at that point of aim, they miss. However for BBs that know how to shoot, predict and adjust for such defensive evasions, being more accurate also means landing more shells which should offset the lack of lolpen citadels as you land more consistent regular penetrations. And if your target isn't evading and just straightlining, being more accurate also means you can punish such inattentive gameplay more consistently (no more perfectly broadside targets only to see all your shells splash perfectly around the target cuz RNG said nope). In addition, it would allow to roll back the change of dropping battleship citadels like the Iowa's/Montana's (which had been lowered because Yamato would consistently lolpen citadel them through the bow), since as I said, no more citadels following an overmatch. With (again) raised citadels however, BB players that are carelessly showing their broadside can (and with the better BB accuracy, will) punished just as much as any other broadsiding potato. In short, it would reward competent play (evasive dodging, correct aiming) and punish poor play (showing broadside).
  23. Just played the first match of today ... I feel almost guilty. But only almost. Any team with BBs shooting HE at everything and still having a full HP toptier BB at the end of the game deserves to get clubbed into oblivion ... seriously, the only ship that ever shot AP (main battery AP that is) was the Kuma. Everything else, including the Orion (somewhat expected, still stupid though) and the Wyoming did nothing but sling HE at me. Easy Fireproof I suppose, so thanks for that.
