    ZEN is expanding!

Update: only 2 places left now, yet we are still accepting applications. At the start of the next Clan Battle season, our boat will likely be full! We are always actively on the lookout for good teamplayers who also have experience with Tier 10 and are willing to grow with us. At ZEN we use Teamspeak and try to practice together whenever we can. We also aim to expand our Deputy Commander ranks from (now) 3 to at least 5 (or more) in future. Give us a closer look, we might be the right clan for you :-)

    ZEN is expanding!

ZEN - Zestful European Navy is a fun clan enjoying this superb game to the max :-) We've just reached 100,000 oil and are expanding to 50 members. We have room for some more! Good teamplay and enthusiasm are worth more to us than stats & numbers. If you're interested, come check us out. We are always interested in finding capable and talented players to join us in Clan Battles. So if you have Tier 10 experience, you are even more welcome. Give us a closer look, perhaps you'll like us and we can join forces! Best regards, Midway67
  3. Yes of course! Absolutely! I love these free XP ships and so far, I've saved up for each and every one of them. Missouri, Nelson, Musashi... each of them are great ships and worth every day of saving for them. To get those 750K FXP will certainly take quite a few months, but the patience will be worth being able to add the first free-XP tier 9 cruiser, for sure!!

  6. Indeed a beautiful ship, this Varyag! Especially in that glistening white Pacific Fleet camo. Initially, I thought, this will probably be very similar to Aurora / Diana (especially with the green camo, reminiscent of Diana...). However, Varyag turns out to be pleasantly maneuverable. Much to my surprise, I was able to get Kraken Unleashed already at my very first battle with her! (admittedly with quite a lot of lucky shots along the way). Thank you Wargaming for this very smart-looking, historically relevant and above all totally free cruiser! Enjoying it a lot. The only strange minor detail is, she is not yet showing up in my online stats (and at wows-numbers.com, I see only 2 players with Varyag stats so far?) -- perhaps a minor glitch. Other than that, what a beauty and what a welcome addition to my fleet, thanks again! Long live Varyag!!

Vampire - Bat out of Hell?

Love that little Vampire, fun to play and surprisingly agile. Would be good to see RN & Commonwealth captains becoming interchangeable, like the IJN & ARP captains a while ago. If you don't have your Vampire yet, make sure you get it (or you'll regret it) :o)

    Patchnotes 0.6.12 from SEA

Good point, what a vision of Texas in that camo one day running into a flashing red Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya! Was also wondering about this, after yesterday's update. Quote from the 0.6.12 Update notes, under the header "New content": Added a new permanent camouflage, Lone Star, for the Texas battleship. -3% to the ship's detectability range +4% to dispersion of shells fired by the enemy attacking your ship +50% to XP earned in the battle Cost: 1,000 Doubloons So.... where is it? I have Texas, but the only camo's I can find there are the standard one, and the Stars & Stripes camo. This Lone Star camo is clearly another one. Btw there are posts about the Lone Star camo on the Asia server as well. Among those are pictures showing this specific one...

USA DD line or wait for the Pan Asia line?

It was on the Okinawa map, among the group of many small islands (area "A"). I was in "aggressor-mode", going to the enemies' side of those islands with a cruiser supporting me. I had already been damaged by cruisers and was limping back to get out of their sight, I had already briefly seen that there was an enemy at 4 to 5km there (drifting into view for like one or two nano-seconds and then disappearing into stealthness again), but was expecting him to continue on towards "our" side of the map, in his attack mode in which he appeared to be. So I turned into a channel inbetween two islands and after half a minute or so, he suddenly popped up with all guns blazing at me. All I remember seeing is "Chung something" as I turned & twisted, with barely enough time to return 1 or 2 salvo's and that was it. Kaboom! Hello, I'm Chung. Good bye. Muuuuuuuu......

USA DD line or wait for the Pan Asia line?

Interesting, fumtu, Cosseria and Seeteufel. Thanks for this very relevant additional info. This makes it seem as if we are in for some real "Global fusion cooking" DD's ... rather than a majority of clones. Based on your info, Seeteufel, personally I would find such a Shen Yang worth the experience, 280 meters doesn't seem like that much, with the trade-off to better guns and faster + longer-range torps included. This could make her a real game-changer! Especially at Tier 4... With radar on top of that, from Tier 8 on, we're in for a lot of surprises, for sure!! (if they do indeed turn out this way after testing is completed) Detecting a Chapayev before he finds you, hmmmm.... And the Chung Mu, wow! Ran into her 2 weeks ago in my Tashkent, that explains why I remember thinking "Chung WHO?" one second, and then looking at the sea-floor the next second...

USA DD line or wait for the Pan Asia line?

Speaking of the Pan Asia DD line, I've examined the ships and their histories. Seeing this, I get the impression that 7 of them could be clones, versus only 3 truly new builds. Or am I just imagining this? Here's the run-down: T1, Chengan = Japanese origin, could be close to Hashidate T2, Longjiang = V-25! T3, Phra Ruang = British built, "R-class", seems new T4, Shen Yang = Minekaze! T5, Jianwei = developed in Britain, seems new T6, Fushun = Gnevny! (looks like Anshan, which is also a Gnevny) T7, Gadjah Mada = built in Britan, seems new T8, Hsien Yang = looks like Lo Yang, so in fact also a Benson? T9, Chung Mu = Fletcher T10, Hsiangyang = developed from Fletcher (Allen M. Sumner class) To summarize, only the T3, T5 and T7 appear to not be clones. Or are the new Pan-Asia DD's in fact (very?) different from their, shall we say, "parallel shipmates", e.g. V-25, Minekaze, Gnevny, Fletcher etc.?

    Opposition to Mikasa

Viribus Unitis! That is a ship I would love to see here! (Austro-Hungarian battleship, with 3 sisters)
