When out driving in your car and someone cuts straight across in front of you that's dangerous driving right? When you are in a battle on this game and someone chops straight across your bows that's my fault??? I have to pay for damage I did to him when he obviously caused the bump. Someone please explain as I don't see the logic behind this rule.

a cruiser has been able to disappear within 3 to 4 kilometers of me
Sindrift replied to AdmiralFirefox's topic in Newcomers' Section
Well guys they would perhaps want me to start a new thread but all the same I'm done on here it's developing into a torpedo show as I thought it would. Everyone wants to finish his enemy and the next and the next so he can rack up lots of pay dirt. I would really like it if the Game was tired into era's rather than ships but I doubt that will happen. You only need to look at world of tanks to realise what the team has aimed at. Cheers guys and gals have fun I'm off to read a book. My name was supposed to be "Spindrift" but I kind of liked how it turned out. -
I find collision avoidance operates too early it's like bouncing off unseen cushions on a snooker table. Hey? What? Where are we going now???

German cruisers made of glass? My little Emden and Coalburger are great little ships compared with the St Louis for instance which has 20knts short range guns compared with German ships turns like a truck on ice. Should I go on? I thought that the Karl was bad until I tried the St Louis, now give me the Karl over this old tub any day of the week.

noobs read, im sick of loosing games couse you suck
Sindrift replied to TomaszuJerzy's topic in General Discussion
I think I have an answer to your problems mate. Only play the top tiers. They can't be noobs so you are bound to find people as good as your self. -
Most handsome and most ugly ship in the game
Sindrift replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
Best in the Game would have to be a late Yanky cruiser, they just seem to get better as time went on, and the ugly duck is, more difficult to assess. I'll go for the Chester which is against what I think is really ugly but looks to have too much freeboard. -
Most handsome and most ugly ship in the game
Sindrift replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
If you like weird warships try the French stuff about 1870's to early 1900's. My lord the Redoubtable I think is shocking. For instance they stuck to tumble home sides which made them look odd. However they had some very strange looking ships and they were never tested in anger so who knows how good they were. Quaint I think. Of course this was the transition period from muzzle loading gun to breech loaders and so I suppose it took a while for designs to settle and best use the new fangled technology. -
As a tester I assume that's a similar job as a moderator on other forums, yeah? So your job is to moderate not give opinions on persons on here. Your job is to edit bad language or move threads to a more appropriate topics if they are of a similar vein. One final point before I quit this game completely (Which by the way I decided to do about a week ago and due to the amount of xp required to move up.) The search engine on hear is as abysmal as it can be. I have never been able to find any thread/topic I want to so perhaps the search engine needs a buff, to use the jargon on here.

Flyto: Yes multiple salvos one from port side the other from starboard torps. Not that I'm sure what I'm talking about here but that's exactly what it looks like to me. Is it not possible to fire your torps in banks rather than all together? I just had a game in old Louis where all I did for the duration was weave about dodging tors. Had the guy kept the spread close I would have been dead. However not really what I call fun in a Victorian era cruiser and just the sort of mismatch I think ought to be done away with. Place old ships in an old ship class. Who ever heard of a turn of the century cruiser showing up for a bun fight with carriers? Oh and what happened to my previous post don't like getting a taste of your own eh?

I guess it could be there intentionally to give the destroyers a chance. However I too feel it's over played this cloaking bull. It's not as though they are easy to hit especially if you are in a battle ship, they have time to fire torps in one direction and then from another and all before you reload. Also hitting them with the main armament in a battle ship is almost impossible if the guy knows what he's doing. Edit for Question: So is it illegal to have destroyers disappear? Or is it part of the setup? I know I've had them disappear when they are really close which is nonsense. Also when in this situation you do need control of the secondary armament. ilhilh go away and grow up it's fair that the guy here wants to question how the game works and the only way he can learn is to ask as I do too.

Perhaps he had mates on the other team? Or in a clan so that they wish to help their mates. I don't know but it is I think the most written about subject on World of Warships. I've also confessed to accidently firing on ally's but it was an accident for which in the next match the guy took me out. Here's a scenario: You spot red the other side of an island. You get ready to blow him out of the water as he appears. I've already adjusted my sight level to the water line. Out he pop's and blam he takes a full broadside. It's only then that you realise it's a team mate but in the same type of ship. The enemy is still behind the next row of islands beyond this island. Embarrassing and unfortunate but unlike what you had unintentional. Perhaps he's jealous of your Avatar I know I am I think it's the best I've seen for this game. Good Luck matey.

Yeah I've had it a few times. Win 10. I put it down to heavy load on the AI after all it has to cope with perhaps fifty guns all firing in different directs and all at differing trajectories, Perhaps 16 ships at differing speeds and so on, etc. There again what do I know. However sometimes the sky above the battle looks like November the 5th. I'll try and keep an eye on it and perhaps remember the situation, (ship wise.)

Suggestion: Add the option "add to blacklist" to the team overview
Sindrift replied to DrProPain's topic in General Discussion
What a Grinch. Black list me PLEASE. -
Drigtol: I have trouble assigning my main guns to a target never mind secondary's. The Kawachi is like a bloody shot gun even at point blank it will miss with everything you chuck at the enemy. Two shells fired from a single turret put a shell each side of the target. "Now I'm warning you the next salvo will be right across your bows. Or perhaps across your stern, I'm not too sure really." What's all that about. Stretching the game a bit longer? Azalgor: No? If you are in the Itchy the secondary's open up on the enemy when close. To me it proves that the so and so sailors have been on the SAKI again! They couldn't hit the side of a barn door. (Next time in port there will be no leave for the crew!)

I suppose you could have a fog horn for when you are in smoke. Or perhaps that whoop whoop eeeek noise when you are about to crunch into an ally. Sorry, but to me, it's a bit of a daft idea.

DDs are certainly a pain in the buttocks if you are in an old BS. Unless your aim is first shot spot on they are very hard to kill. What I have found so far is it's difficult to get a origami cruiser close enough to torp with much success as it's more like SUCK Cess-pool. KABOOM! Though it sounds to me like most of you have been playing for a while so I doubt my opinion amounts to much.

Most handsome and most ugly ship in the game
Sindrift replied to Admiral_H_Nelson's topic in General Discussion
I like that one which you can't see. Must be really good cammo! Being serious for a moment. The Bismarck and Scharnhorst especially with it's new bow, are very well proportioned a sort of 5 year olds idea of what a battle ship should look like. They were I suppose classic in that respect. The Hood has always got my juices flowing. Once again absolute classic for her time, graceful lines, with a hidden menace. I have always liked both German and British Battle cruisers of WW1 as they look to me to be what they are, fast, low, large cruisers. I like all military ships I suppose just because they are. Some ugly fuglies others perfect warship art forms. -
JD I think I know what you mean but really if the developers were to pep it up more I think it would fail the realism by a long chalk. What frustrates me more is the mix of era's in the same battle but if they keep ships to the era and modification at the time that may be even worse. The other frustration is perennial I guess. I've been trying to up my torpedoing skills but without a lot of success. It's dragging my average down at a chronic rate. That and the Yanky ships seem far better than Jap ones, or at least it's usually a Louis or similar that finishes me off. The kawachi is great if you're ironing Turn! Turn! Turn! Boom! Too late. However if she was in a fight with similar ships I think she would pull her own weight.

Off topic ...but I can't understand this torpedoing lark. Now it could be me but I line up the cone press the trigger and the bloody cone flips round to what to me seems like a random shot. Perhaps I moving the aim on point of firing? Perhaps the mechanics pick the best line of attack for you on the moment of firing? Perhaps my mouse is too sensitive? Maybe I'll have a look at the vids (again). However I don't really find them too informative. The shots on the films look so calm and easy but the biggest drawback is actually getting close enough without being sunk in order to fire your torpedoes.

Klingons or Warships! - not at all sporting or fair
Sindrift replied to Naveey's topic in Newcomers' Section
Seargent Nigel: You get a lot of that sort of thing throughout the games, no matter where you're playing, encounters or anything. Ships up to the size of Cruisers suddenly disappear, only reappear later somewhere else. Now I thought it was only Destroyers that did this and since I've never noticed a "Clingon" button on the consul' then I like you, I fear the game may have been compromised. There are however certain possibilities in that it could be an added delight that the game program adds. As Marlekin says it's ships just on the edge of sight. However there is no line where suddenly a ship disappears like that. They fade to view, often just their masts or smoke remaining visible sure, but not from clear view one moment to gone the next. I find that doubtful since it happens often within range of the guns of my Dresden. It could be due to smoke although I've never noticed any smoke on a number of occasions. Now if they were to alter the weather with perhaps a rain squall now and again then yes. I've seen that happen in real life. There are loads of other on line games which have ruined by people who think it's clever to cheat. I sympathise only on one point and that is the ships which mark the next tier, on this game, are almost impossibly high in XP without boredom setting in before you obtain it. I suppose the makers feel that it will keep people playing longer, but not this old git, life's too short to waste most of it playing on here. This I think is why many choose to circumvent the game and get to better? higher level ships. I suppose it becomes a game of catch me if you can between the cheats and the site owners. Lets face it. It won't be the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last that a game has had these problems. For me, I'm going to run out my credit and then ditch the game as it becomes irritating to think that the kill joys are once again in charge. -
FF only a pound you're cheap by todays standards. However I confess to being a noob (why they don't fit breaks to ships I have no idea? ) It was the same when I used to race my Mirror Dinghy those people are so competitive it was more like bumper cars than sailing. Which brings me to a point ....Why not have collision rules as they do in real life. On second thoughts it probably wouldn't work. There again you've hit the nail on the head perhaps with WONT. But I'm just as guilty since they are probably occupied trying not to get sunk with your steering jammed and the (T)annoy shouting things like we're holed, we're taking on water fast. Ding, Ding, Ding, we're on fire, crackle, crackle, smoke, smoke. (Did anyone think to bring the sausages?) Note to engineer: "We're on fire in three places, the steering went the moment I brought the torpedo's on line, (as per normal) and we've just crashed into an island and some idiot down in the engine room keeps ringing his bloody bell to report the darn obvious. "Note to Admiralty...I need a new first mate now!"

There are a few things that annoy me in the game which hopefully someone can explain.... Sometimes I get verbal warnings and sometimes times I don't? Is that as it should be? I get Torpedo warnings which are too late to react to. Or the wrong direction! "Torpedo's dead ahead" When they are to Port or Starboard or rear! In fact most of the torpedo warnings (Verbal) are useless or are they just to add some excitement to the mix??? If that's why they are there, then can I remove the warnings as I'll be looking in the wrong direction. Oh and if it's for effect it's not a very good effect at least the warnings should be from the direction they are coming from and enough time given to react. What's the point if the warning is within a second or two of hitting? Just now my torpedo's wouldn't fire in spite of hammering the fire button? Hopefully not the AI deciding before the event? Or is this the same as large calibre guns being shut down when close and uncomfortable!? However I got torped myself so I suspect the AI making choices. I'm also getting Cruisers disappearing in smoke in spite of me being close and focussed on him is that as it should be? Normally if I focus on a ship in smoke I can see him. I hope this game isn't going the same way as all the rest with every one cheating. If that is the case then I won't be around long enough to get even remotely good.

Poor old Karl. I wish there was something else to replace that as it's about as able as a destroyer to take punishment. Some things are sent to try us I guess. I think overall the Yankee ships are a bit too good but then if they didn't win against the Japanese they my have a taddy. So far I have no answers to the Yanky Cruisers on tier 3 so gawd knows what they are like further up the scale. I had a pop in the Magami I think it is, the one you can buy. Huh what a waste of money. Okay I wasn't terribly good at the game then (not that I'm that good now) but it wouldn't turn and (from memory) it's a shot gun. I was getting one hit out of ten. The Yanky cruisers were putting sinking me in a few salvos. Perhaps people expect Noobs to be playing that thing so don't waste you're money on it. See that's the trouble with Japanese ships they have they are origami ships folded out of paper. -
I have a few thoughts on this one. I was sunk once because in a prior game I had mistakenly fired on my "Team mate". Fair enough if it means that much to you then okay. There's another little idiosyncrasy I find odd. When you read the instructions it says firing makes you easier to see in battle but people seem to do it all the time??? I wonder if this is to alert a mate on the other team or something as I can't understand why they do it unless it's to let you know he has seen the enemy. Perhaps half wrecking your ship was a similar thing sort of levelling the odds for his mate. That's something I honestly don't like about this game. There is no team play, well not much anyway. I try to even the odds if someone is in trouble but of course you have to be somewhere in the vicinity to do that. I have had some brilliant team type players around and we have had a really good game. However you don't earn as many points since you are sharing kills it seems. There are at present a couple of Yanky (I think they are) cruisers which are fast sailors' and have really long range on their guns. If caught by those it's an early bath I'm afraid. Is it the (Pen)sacola I wonder? Perhaps they should be in a different tier?

Ooops That's not quite right as it depends on size and health I think . I was cut in half for my trouble without steering once by a friendly. I love that one ......Hello I can't steer and there's four ships blazing away at you it's great mate rattle those R keys and rattle them in vain.. CHARGE! into the edge line or an island usually. Flyto: Dead right mate it's how it should be but there are those times when you're in the middle of things and crunch! Oh "you just sunk my battle ship." To Quote a crummy saying from a crummy game. And there's a price for that rubbish? What's wrong with paper and pen anyway???
