Anniversary Supercontainers - I am so spoiled
Gnirf replied to xenopathia's topic in General Discussion
Well first 327 TYLs I got 13 SCs (oct-feb and then 20 from 448 TYLs (feb -july) so it is reasonable with a drop rate of say 4 % at least with TYL. During the Yamamoto campaign however I have started to take more signals and camos instead. No fresh stats there yet (have to fill in from my notes in my excelsheets for my WOWsplay). 1 small consolation is that you recieve the Prem camos some times in TYL, never yet in the regular there are only type 1,2,5. I have never despite over 30 SCs recieved a ship or the 50000 FreeXP, the SCs in missions are not counted in this 30 then it is well above 50. -
Sell ships? You buy port slots so you never have to sell 188 ships atm....

Hej på dig landsman! Hello fellow countryman! Well I have played all cruiser lines to T10 with grind. Now at T5/6/7 it is a shift in cruiser play style (Experienced players especially in Battleships tends to punish you for mistakes more the higher you get in tIers) in general and also for this nations. The French cruisers with may reach their high point (relative its counterparts, other ships and META) at T4 and not regain it until T8 I think slides into a rather passive kiting playstyle, already from T6 La galissonaire is an average ship but is generally best played imo at some distance, I think the French cruisers are beginnerfriendly (good for you) but lacks a little variation you play at distance kiting and firing HE in the current META a lot even up to T10, it is the same with the 203 mm guns which you recieve from T7 with Algerie. They are slower than your Bertin but better armoured. Speed boost mod 1 is very useful. Do not know if you have any in stock but they propell La Gal which is slow at T6 and Algerie up to competetive speeds. The 9 km torps at T5 are good but as they stay in line with only a few per side they are more a bonus not anything to rely o n and at higher tiers the amount of hydros and with 5 BBs aside often you do not often use them, more as area denial or lucky shot thing when you are retreating, at least early on. You will get often high damage figures by spamming BBs but you do not feel like a team player, I find it a line that it is easy relatively to perform consistent in but you do not have the same impact as f.e. the radar ships which can hunt DDs in Caps etc, you have more difficulty to support DDs close range than these ships. If you like that gamestyle take the French however do not rush in either of the lines too far ahead of your other ship types. IJN makes the transition already at T5 and they are more versatile than the French, better concealment and better torps. I grinded them very long ago and I play them rarely now except for T10 Zao, T8 Mogami with 155mm, and the lower tier Kuma and Chikuma, last one is my favourite ship of all. But the consensus I think is decent AP, excellent HE, relative slow reload, torps that are deadly and which you can fire from stealth with good captains on some , bad torp arcs, easy to citadel, but also a relative beginnerfriendly cruiser line. Compared with the others these two are the easiest to play I think (RN most difficult). Hope that it helps. Certainly more posts will come.

Anniversary Supercontainers - I am so spoiled

Well good for ranked at least But I understand you are disappointed. Let us hope your Yamma mission SCs goes better. -
Yes Jaguar Etype or the Triumph was it called GT6? with great imagination and caricature skill I do not possess the latter but you have a point no doubt.

As a collector it is a must have. I recieved Missouri around jan/feb so I had the FreeXP almost ready when Nelson was announced (Have used FreeXP in the menatime heavily on T8/9 grind). Now as a player it depends on what you like. Sure she is ugly and not proportioned but fun and different. If you are playing the RN BB line it is always good to have trainers , I have them all. The ship I play least is the Hood. I may play her more when my grind in RN BBs are higher (at T6 atm). So far I have found Nelson fun but one must learn its limitations, I have been caught out when your own team vanishes and you are somehow losing your concentration. I like her guns - I seldom use HE, maybe I should use it more as the reports on RN HE spam flows in but it is against all one is thought, I have difficulty in firing so much HE but I admit I have tried to do it in Orion and Bellerophon in (my research mode well experimental games in random) some games as the enemys ships more easily catch fire there. I think Nelson is a fine ship like many posts have written for the more experienced player. I am now back at 280 K FreeXP so with around 150 777% FreeXP flags in stock I am equipped for any new ship. As WG also have stated that Missouri is to cheap given the current economy - 750000 FReeXP was tough in the old days - I suspect that we are given new ships from time to time probably in higher tiers to give use for the FreeXP and to set incentives to buy conversions etc for attractive ships. Musashi was rumoured as stated earlier , I think that is the only ship I have heard of but it is not difficult to think of ships that might be interesting - especially at lower/mid tiers also Battlecruisers anyone? Hyuga in aircraft config? Russian torp Battleship design from World war 1? Kitikami in torp config?

Anniversary Supercontainers - I am so spoiled

Grozovoi = 100 x Victor Lima Khabarovsk = 50 x Halloween 2016 Camo Moskva = 100 x Equal Speed Charlie London Zao = 50 x Ouroboros (777% FreeXP) Shimakaze = 1000 Doubloons Yamato = 50 x Red Dragon (100% Ship XP 100 % Com. Xp) Des Moines = Spotting Aircraft Mod Gearing = Surv. radar Mod Montana = 50 x WOWs Anniversary Camo Z52 = 7 days premium Hindenburg =14 days premium Grosser K. = 14 days premium Minotaur = 50 x Ocean Soul Camo Henri IV = Spotting Aircraft Mod Seems like average RNG. Now conisdering my amount of Supercontainers I am together with all other SCs I have recieved so far in TYL, Yamamoto missions etc. I really wonder what the ship chance is, have got 0 apart from the Santas gifts where the odds were different. Have seen various numbers but statistically given that you recieve a SC what are the odds for recieving a ship? -
Compared with the others Nassau and König is at least comfortable to play and get decent results in even for inexperienced players. I hate the upper German tiers because of their lack of precision in their main guns. Bought the Prem Camo when I unlocked Biz but have not played her much unless driven to by missions or so, with Tirpitz secondaries buffed I prefer Tirpitz. I have grinded up to GK but I simply do no not like high tier BB play , DD and Cruisers are more fun and challenging.
-
Well if you play lower tier cruisers or BBs the ones with dispersion is OK and the detect only for DDs. At least I use them so as long as I have stock. I use the typ 5 otherwise.

This is going to sound ungreatful WG, but
Gnirf replied to ThePopesHolyFinger's topic in General Discussion
See post above. However last anniversary where they gave away the Dragon flags it was also a flat proportion to games played so it is not new,. And if you have playe over 3000 battles you should be able to have t8 ships in your grasp. The camps will wait for you when you get the ships. -

It is hardly unfair to reward the loyal players in proportion to their effort. That is reality. Do you want a collegue that has worked 1 hour get the same salary as you that has worked 14?. It is not that these rewards from WG are random it is quite proportional to their dedication. Do you realize how many hours it takes to play 13000 battles? The value of the supercontainers with 7 days premium, 14 days premiums, a upgrade and some camos and flags, if you divide that with hours it is nothing. -
Warships 2nd Birthday Special [and Patch 06.10.1] - Lots of goodies
Gnirf replied to LilJumpa's topic in General Discussion
I agree with you I bought 2 x200 of the Victory Camos it was OK when you are in the grinding phase, but 200 for 30? Never. I buy rather a ship or premium time. If you want easier grind it is probably more economical to convert freeXP if you have bought the doubloons at an OK rate when it is 35:1 like this weekend. Now with missions and such I have also got some camos, my approach has been never use premium camos on elited ships only in the grind phase T7 and up (with rare exceptions, the righteous fire and NY Camo with freexp). -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Met @tank276 today on two fights one on North where he prevailed I had Hindenburg he had Minotaur and won the game, I left it as I was sunk in a push towards enemy CAP, little overenthusiastic. I was greeted by him before fight and also on my return fight on Mountain Range domination. I had Gearing and managed to win against his Alabama, a close fight and I would say pretty wellplayed. I was at first capping B with help with friendly ships then I played at C. Tank276 seemed to play at A so it was two victories for each side at A and C, but we had the cruicial B not uncommon on this map (BC to same team). However Tank276 despite topping his teams scorelist had together with 2 other BBs in the defining moment of the match therefor to push against Bcap in order to win, however our CV was alert sank the FdG and then we in our team managed to stop the other two BBs in/at B-cap and sunk them, I ended midtable but it was a good fight and a match in my taste. I did not have the possibilty to thank him in game as you wrote WP Gnirf when seconds remained and I was busy against the HenriIV so instead I do it here and also complimented him for good manners and worthy adversary, as I wrote you topped the table in your team. Let us hope we meet in same team some time, It is a little interesting to fight same player some games apart. -

Warships 2nd Birthday Special [and Patch 06.10.1] - Lots of goodies
Gnirf replied to LilJumpa's topic in General Discussion
To comfort you I think it is great news with this hidden achievements. I am looking forward to it, but is the event with those hidden achievements only around for the one week?, when you look at the ASIAN page where the containers are for sale, it seems only a limited time duration so hope you can bring more details on the EU website so there is no misunderstanding. Is it one different item per achievement so that you automatically gets different if you say manage 13 out of 16 , and then buy packages to get the rest or is it RNG so if you have bad luck you get duplicates from the start like in other campaigns? Cheer Up! -

What is the current strongest battleship line and why?
Gnirf replied to thiextar's topic in General Discussion
I play Wyoming far more than NY/Texas. I like her 12 guns, I have easier getting good results with her than other T4s Techtrees. MM to T4 is more friendly. NM I like a lot also userfriendly 4x3, Colorado I barely touch. But T6 is a fun Tier to be in gameplaywise, so I play a lot there regardless of ship. Problem is when you have premium Texas and Arizona the US Techtree ships get less played, I have so many ships in port I barely touch NY and NM anymore. Arizonas guns are far better so why play NM? But for the techtree player NM is great. NC is a great ship also first US with speed. But at higher tiers I prefer playing DDs and cruisers. . -
Which ship line you'll never play/never grind/play only when you'll complete all the other lines?
Gnirf replied to Favuz's topic in General Discussion
I have grinded all current lines to T10, except the CVs. I have never liked the CV gameplay, and are only at T5/6. I voted therefor IJN/US CVs + future lines. The Pan-Asian DDs does not arouse any drive for me so I choose that too, I may grind very slowly. Other future lines like FR BBs/DDs Italian 3 lines, RN DDs and RU BBs and some PanEuropean lines if they would come about are all lines that I will try out depending on time etc, but there is at least a desire to play them. -
One can not just buff and buff she is way superior to her T7 and T6 counterparts so the balance is not just within the Tier but agains lower and higher tiers. One can think of the DEf AA/Hydro thing as this will not benefit Hipper more in a gun duel vs other ships but add a little to versatility, so I agree with Quallo_Musto

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Gnirf replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yes a fine game by you I remembered you were No1 or at worst 2 with good XP , Truly nice chat and I complimented you afterwards. Now I have unlocked QE yesterday with hard to believe results, I have lost with other ships these two days but the 8 games so far were only wins despite grinding up from scratch (with a 12 p cpt however from my Warspite). Does not matter if I had 25K or 85 K only wins. The only thing I know is that it will end. Never had such a start with any ship, bought the prem camo as it looked nice. I like the Mid tiers and 1000 doubloons is not that expensive. One can not help by reacting to Nicks from one of my favourite programs. -
The USS Atlanta needs a rework + stats comparison for all T7 cruisers
Gnirf replied to dayofmone's topic in General Discussion
No buffs to Atlanta is needed, all ships do not need to be easy to play. It is easy to find info on the internet LWM review etc so you know what you buy. That ships have problems with if the players are not skilled is not a problem, premiums that are quirky makes the gameplay more interesting. -
I think it is a difference between buying and playing. I agree with the posts above Bought an Atago when I was new and it ended like the posts above says with poor stats etc but you can as PseudoMi play ccop if the ship is on a fantastic sale, the German package is tempting. However I suggest you grab König Albert while you still can as this ship will go out of sale and it is a very good (too Good so that is why it will be withdrawn). If you are hellbent on buying Tirpitz or Scharnhorst I suggest you go with Scharnhorst as it is lower tier and less expensive but play lots of lower tier ships first before random play. Sure you can dip your toes now and then but be sure that you learn to play first up to say T6 in various lines. If you are broadly experienced you can go say 1 tier above or so as if you play lots of tier 6 ships and have many matches with them you will be uptiered against T8s. My answer and most others above are the same to all posts like yours so do not feel particurlarly pissed off, posts like yours comes frequently. But as I say they are good ships both if you can play them and buying a ship is not the same as playing them if the offer is good enough. I bought both Saipan and Kaga as Cvs but I will not take them out in random play before I have played CVs at lower tiers more. It will be coop only for these two.

Warships Anniversary - Likely benefits & Discounts
Gnirf replied to BeauNidl3's topic in General Discussion
To be fair I would not buy anything before you know whats in store this time. Sometimes they have had decent sales like in the summer sales. Last year I mostly remembered for the massive issue of dragon flags, which you were given after how many games you have played + the additional bonus for every T10 ships you had in port. If you have several silverships researched but not bought I would also wait, not only for discounts on the ships themselves but also upgrade discounts. Something they will offer, but your guess is as good as mine. It might be a disappointment but even if the negative posts above are right, the times they are wrong should make you wait.
