MM sugestion to avoid usless games
Gnirf replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
well from say T7/8 the stock grind are tough especially with f.e. the concealement skill for the captain also as well. But all this is also a deliberate choice on your part by not collecting freeXP to skip the stock grind, management of your captains f.e. having premiums and/or retrain lower ships captains - all of this come to a cost in time and money but we all have the same issue and it is advisable to plan ahead in your advancement both in your tech tree climb managing flags, free XP and captains. That you have difficulties is therefor in the business model to make you pay. I doubt that the stock grind phase ever will be an issue for WG. -
Did they change the detonation mechanics?
Gnirf replied to nerderklaus's topic in General Discussion
No, can not say I have noticed that. BTW I remember when I recieved Yamato and had 2 detonations in 3 games. Prob. the least detonation prone ship in reality. -
You get oil for the containers , that is it for now I think
-
Well I suggest a few here (just because they are a little odd and therefor less tech tree suitable): RN: BB Agincourt (7x12) BB : Corageous as BC (4x15) DD: Swift leader WW1 Div. European: DD Dubrovnik DD Attolio Regolo DD Fr Contre torpeillur (if they not put a sep tree for them) Le Terrible BB Szent Istvan CA/CL Tre Kronor, Tromp, BC Borodino (Izmail), Kronstadt Sure Musashi is fine but I want more diversity. After Nelson I have begun to stockpile gaian 300K atm. I have abstain from pure paper, building should have least begun. Or why not the ultimate T1 Novgorod Round ship, so useless that the enemy ship sinks out of laughter

There are two ships in WOWS that I have used FreeXP on yhe grindy part (not B-hull and such) and that is Izumo and emerald, whe I had 60-80K left to Yamato I just could not bare anymore and I have endured lots of grinds through the game as I am at T10 at all non CV lines except RN. Clumsy as hell. It is interesting why IJN went for such a long version with only 9-16 inch guns, maybe high length/wide ratio for speed like the cruisers, but Yamato were built considerably shorter. Especially as the front turret arrangement was to minimize side armour length f.e..

Advice on how to spend 375k free XP
Gnirf replied to Captain_Bloodless's topic in General Discussion
Well I enjoy Nelson layout and as a collector (i have her) there is just a question of when. I never use freexp on other stuff than grind the B-hull etc on T7/( and up and only if tehy look painful, F.e. I have used it on B-hull + FCS on Monarch but accepted to grind the speed upgrade, after all FreeXP is a expensive item and as Skyllon says it will come more Free premiums (Musashi?) which will cost more -

Gnirf replied to MaxxyNL's topic in General Discussion
For me FreeXp is somewhat overrated in prize. I value real normal XP and commander XP. However the crates for T10 s and other stuff in the 2 year celebration, better success in weekly missions + a few SC that has given me premium camos has supplied me with lots of the better camos, I have gone from around 30 or so to 426 (restless fire excluded) so with all grinds that I pursue except RN BBs there is nowhere to put them. The restless fire is good for captain grinding but mnay of the others I save for line grinding, not just wasting them on regular play. With 700 ESCL it is also hardly difficult to grind. But with all the tech tree lines that now exists for newer players speedy camos are in demand but I think they are too expensive compared with premium time and/or prem ships. I would say that 18-20 EUR /200 is more in line with other alternatives. I have trown money on WOWs (well over 1000 EUR) on premium ships camos and stuff but even I compare offers. If they would ell restless fire around 18 for 200 I might be temoted as I use them on T10s without prem camos. But I have invested a lot in prem camos instead for "cheap dubloons" on lots of T10 ships , I think there is more value there provided you play, eternity 100% bonus XP + credits/repair which in the end helps you with Cpt elite XP. I would say that prem camos ha sthe greatest value for people with more money than tima and with irregular schedules as the long term prem time offers should bring more otherwise.- 35 replies

LIke other posts have said DCP for two fires, start the heal instead when you begin to have damage that can be healed (showed on your ship damage icon). As they have a cooldown too proper alternernating of these two will help you. Use premium DCP at least, do not forget to tick the arrow and change from 15 gold to 22500 silver credits. On many low tier maps you have lots of islands to break line of sight , if you are HE focused and not have help judge whether you can slug it out or have to cease fire and disengage to have cooldown restored. That you will learn if you want to with experience. On lower tiers new players either do not know when to push (pressing home an advantage) but also when to take a step back. If you see a Orion in front try to have help if you have local superiority you will defeat an equally skilled player. However many veterans may play lower tiers RN now (new line9 even though they mostly have advanced now (grinding T8 atm myself) so the skill difference is high in lower tiers. If I face you in the Ishizuchi (BBQ premium IJN Battlecruiser) I will play HE almost exclusively and will burn you to death, I use more AP in Orion. So while your post is a newbie rant, I agree with you that all stats show Orion is OP , but your problem is also experience. Kaiser (the German BB line) are a newbiefriendly ship compared with Myogi and Wyoming easier to play and get decent results in, more forgiving damage wise, but against HE spam all T4:s have same problems. Well I hope you continue to play and try to improve on some basics in damage mitigation then you will feel better, But I can tell you that my favourite Battleship BBQ ship is the Bogatyr (18 p captain) though life has been made harder with the RN Battleships and the powercreep of her enemys (longer gunrange of all the opponents (Battleships) and FR cruisers (D-T) and longer range for ST Louis. Buuuäähhhhh But who says no to a challenge before it was almost too easy to stack huge damage numbers
-
Too busy to cry, too busy to claim CQ being SOO OP~
Gnirf replied to Jean_Bart79's topic in General Discussion
If you have played against a ship enough times and have access to paper values + stats for performace and WR you can judge their performace pretty well. Sure personal experience is an advantage but if a ship is OP is above all a stat interpreting skill (for server stats) + quality discussion. If you have like me f.e. over 13000 games (have all non CV T10s)you get a feeling for a ship by playing against it and if you are used to interpreting stats f.e. in your regular job it helps also. However I do agree with some WG statements that Warships today etc has limited access to stats that are necessary for the strata stats . F.e. when players stop playing a particular line, how many experienced players play the ship, distribution by different player stratas etc damage caused by fires etc and the impact their damagenumbers have, so by just stating a new ship is OP as it have high average damagenumbers is not correct. But it is the same with f.e. HE spamming cruisers the French are mostly played at a distance and therefor have lots of fire damage, that may not necessary win the game, (My anecdotal feeling is that I have higher damage numbers in them but less influence in deciding the game). It might be so in the RN. They will nerf it regardless of the whiners if they find it OP in both stats and quality (anecdotal) feedback. -
Naturally I look forward to a RN DD line but as non-English I would prio 1 line at first and then other nations DD lines which gives more variety, RN DDs multiple branches are for me far less exciting that alternate Battlecruiser trees or some heavy cruisers. In DDs to be fair and honest I would have liked French DDs before their BBs as they with their large DDs would have been a nice tech tree and you have lots of DDs in nations that are otherwise too small (premiums?) that are other wise too small in the near future. To have 3 RN DD lines must be well down the list.

Mission containers are 3 flags but not the max 3 you can earn daily, there is 4 like others have stated

What Was In Your Crimson Containers? - Revolutionary Rewards
Gnirf replied to iJoby's topic in General Discussion
Well I decided to not buy the ship now but to grind it. First I may not have time all weekdays, but more I calculate to get the ship in the third week at least on day 2 or at worst day 3 so 5 crates instead of 21. The value of prem days is almost zero if you have like me a long term premium account so the calculation is so different from a new player without premium. judging by the crates it seems that the top crates are extremely unusual. Even dubloons is rather uninteresting as they are far cheaper (vs the buy of the ship) to buy in adm edition or fleet pack the larger the better, small amounts are not worth it. Better to buy expensive packages when you are in need of gold for prem camos and ships in tech tree. If you however think its fun (which I do) to gamble fine with me but the odds are not attractive enough like f.e. in the Santas presents last year (Nikolai etc). -
I do not play other games, these numbers in WOWS are enough for me to raise the issues. I joined a new clan a few days ago. I was invited by a few but this one looked alright (27 before me) and a mixed assortment of players. Thought why not join and my oil could at least do some good, while I thinking about the matter. The first invitations came from clans that were too small and/or too red (in WOWs numbers, I guess many players will join clans, a lot of them just for the benefits (resources bonuses).

I agree, the good camos like Victory Camos costed around 18-19 EUR for 200 (I use SEK so I just do a estimate) , that was alright (bought 2x200). These are 50% more expensive, that is too much.- 35 replies

Do you use "Adrenaline Rush" Captain skill on your BBs?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
On higher point captains generally. However some ships I have not played enough for enough captain points as EM is usually the first 2p skill. Then after 10 points it is the 2p skill to grab, but in what order should the remaining skills be taken, I may prefer DE or AFT f.e. and then it is placed second last or last in order. -
Certainly a good advice when I reach there (at the 4th atm) I will try that ship, even if you fail for many games you can comfort yourself with all the credits and captain training. Bought the ship a few weeks ago in the Soviet 4-pack sale so I have the 50 3xp wins to use (well 40 left).

While I may not disagree with you in the long term too large clan sizes has its issues, both in balancing, influence of the members, clan battles problems etc I think therefor it is better to start somewhat careful than suddenly discover that 100 member clans are too strong. These are issues that I can think of, I have not time to discuss them in detail: Size: Larger clans get too much benefits to fast The difference between a large and a small clan should not be too great A new player to the game will have an even higher mountain to climb compared with veterans in a large clan, even if he starts his own small clan Too many members restricts the influence of the individual member Too large clans will in clans that sees competetive gaming as the thing leave many players outside the team , furthermore as this is a niche game, I think also that we are needing numbers of teams even if it is Scrubs 1 , 2, 3 or OM/Omni etc. Regardless of the clan building is a success (many Clans) the issues with participating in decisions are negative in too large clans, however what the optimal size is I do not know. But as it is a niche game it is fun for local clans like Dutch naval men, or Norwegians living in Oslo and if you feel that it is no use if you are too small compared with the established clans it may be a negative factor. My point is not saying that 30/40/50 is the optimal way but it is good to start somewhere and see in a year or two how the feature has worked and if the problems/issues that I see is pronounced even with todays sizes.

I did mention another one in line 3 with 84 Torpedo tubes thought that was more hilarious Yes charging in among the 4 enemy BBs (the range is of course enough), wall of skill....Premium only sold for 1 hour before withdrawn - of course I have it together with 3 others - Fair and balanced you know

First T6 I really hope for the Borodino class 12-14 inch 28 kts. Cuniberti variant G design 18-12 inch guns (6x3) s215 (McLaughlin Russian & Soviet Battleships) Torpedo battleship (s264) 23000 Tons 12-7 inch guns 84-17,7Inch TT Side armour 400 mm, 28 kts Battleship 1915 (s267) 35600 T 12-16 inch 25 kts Kostenko 1916-17 s317 42350-45200 T 8x16 (4x2), 9x16 (3x3), 10x16 (2x3, 2x2), 12x16 (4x3) 31,5-----25 kts They were quite prolific but how far these designs were taken it is of course very varied, but it is clear that they had larger ships in mind than the realized/nearly finalized that would have competed with the large US/RN/IJN ships later built/started.

Roma - Tier VIII Premium Italian BB suggestion
Gnirf replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in Battleships
Well the USN made some gaming where during WW1 in the process in developing battle scouts later Lexington and they found that a portion of the navy that were faster and less armoured could help attack the front of enemy fleet from different angle and other favourable stuff, was an article about that in Warship yearbook some years ago. They were frightened that f.e. the DDs that were too small to scout in bad weather and that their armoured cruisers would be outclassed by f.e. the RN Battlecruisers and the Kongos. -
If you choose between those 3 it is the line that you play most especially if you enjoy them so I suggest Kii in your case , thus you can combine credits with captain training.
-
Well I have a few of them af all the 4 Japanese manufacturers that made them Aoshima, Hasegawa, Fujimi and Tamiya. This series wre briught out around 1970-80 and then completed with few ships, now new tooling and variants are emerging in enormous pace, even fictional ships like Amagi as a battlecruiser exists (1920s version). I have 200+ of them but I have not built more than around 70. I have lots of strange kitmakers -Pit Road, Seals Models (Now Foresight) (Mikasa, Fuji, among others), 13 class, Kurama, Ibuki (armoured cruisers) as resin models f.e. Go to Hlj.com for todays assortment

OKTYABRSKAYA REVOLUTSIYA in the shop & mission
Gnirf replied to SteDorff's topic in General Discussion
We will see but if you take 21 containers it is hardly 21 days of pemium , a few these are probably buffed and it is not so that the other prizes are great, FreeXP are a thing that WG is pretty generous with. -
Special Upgrades: Make them available
Gnirf replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Interesting POW after the whine for months of the useless upgrades but play a lot and you will get upgrades f.e. via the SCs in the Yamma campaign.
