Ships that are better skipped using FXP
Gnirf replied to HMS_Kilinowski's topic in General Discussion
Well I have also used my expensive camos (type 59, Asian Lantern etc) and flags to get through the T8/9s in the latest lines, partly to find use and also to get lots of FreexP during that period.Completely agree on using FreeXP on modules. Most of the times I have freexped most if not all modules from T7 and up, depending on stock, I want to always be ready for FreeXP ships at release. I have FreeXpd parts of Izumo, Emerald earlier and now parts of Shokaku and Essex but latest two is for getting steel and that I want to get To T10 before RTS CV is at end. Will FreeXP lots of Taiho but ar playing some coop games more to minimize usage, The 1 000 K for Alaska is earmarked. The midtier grind of many new lines has been solved partly throuh containers so most of the times I have started on T8 on French BBs and T9 on RN DDs. The lower tier goes extremely quick, so that is not much of a sink. As I have less time to play since a while and therefor I have less time to grind, I have chosen I rather pay for containers and missions rather than FreeXP ing with doubloons to keep pace with the new lines. -
Concur, ranked should not be played in a gimmicky mode. But you are late!

what would a legendary comander jingles get?

When your ship is on fire or flooding the duration is 50% longer and can not be cured. +50 % damage from enemy shells. -
Is the Daring as bad as the Jutland?
Gnirf replied to ThatOneDidntGoIn's topic in General Discussion
Yes, and I applaud OPs question, regardless of the language, because it can be seen as a understandable frustration. If the OP now sees the light and act accordingly it is good. But as you say many does not. -
Is the Daring as bad as the Jutland?
Gnirf replied to ThatOneDidntGoIn's topic in General Discussion
Problem is now that we have a mix between veteran players (forumites etc) that knows this and are mixed with players that might choose the RN Navy to start with. The wiki have info about captain skills etc but not captain usage tactics, transfer tactics, recommended level at various tiers etc. Also us veterans may have more elite XP to use and are ready to do that. We see the consequences here in various debates but sometimes fail to see the reason behind: that you really need to invest large amounts of time to learn all mechanics. I still learn but invest rather huge amount of time here. Fortunately I could start with 14 p on Jutland through elite XP in store and I find the DD very enjoyable. I also used the tactics from @Hedgehog1963 and stored/bought/eliteXPed RN captains to be able to start in randoms on 10p on every DD. But I am no new player and could do that. -
True, Bogatyr is my favorite, My challenge is to get at least 75K, have ofc a 19p. Earlier I played a lot in Chikuma but she has long since been superseeded by other ships in my navy. But she was my first 19 p . now I barely touch her, but uses the captain in other ships. And she has been nerfed , earlier without doubt the best T2 cruiser. The new Charleston is great for veterans, but she has not the Igor camo sadly. Svetlana I played a lot before, but she is a little slow. I guess D-T at T4 might be good with a high end captain, fast and with decent torps on small maps, I have trained 3 10 p from scratch in her of which 2 have moved to other ships. Yes her gun reloads slow, but good gun range and good health pool. After the RN BBs it is however more difficult to play cruisers and the ranges on many BBs have been extended so the situation now is IMO more difficult for cruisers. Earlier a Bogatyr with AFT outranged many BBs , especially when kiting. BB HE hits the cruisers hard. As I have 10 p on every ship by principle, through playing and using eliteXP I have lots of choices, most low tier ships are strong decent captains. But your examples are very good. Among DDs I somewhat like the Izyaslav with her 3x3 config and longer torp range than other RU DDs. Yes they are weak but 9!. Good guns also that set her apart from many other ships. But it depends on playstyle, I have never liked the PA DDs, sure they are strong but I think there are often many DDs at T4-5 games and on those narrow maps I do not like that you can not hit DDs. When the missions starts at 5 and all those neverending campaigns with missions I have probably lowered my T4/3 battles with 80-90%. Only now with the snowflakes and a few other read Nikolai games during the last 3-4 months have made me go lower than T4. My favourite tiers are 5-7 (battletiers that is) gameplay wise.

I also play TX carriers now, Midway and T9 Taiho only in coop above T6. My random fights have been mistakes in selection. Sadly there are some insults there also. In T6 I have played some games in random. When I play in coop and the enemy CV does autodrops etc and given the XP generation, I deliberately not play as in the few randoms I played at T6. The games are too fast for that and as the bots just charging and enemy planes are less harmful the CVs role changes if you want to have a few XP, you can not simply wait to attack. I might have dipped more into randoms should the rework not have taken place, presumably with the US CVs as their squadrons are larger and therefor not as difficult to micromanage, 7 on Taiho is too many to spread out. maybe there are Mods that show which fightersquadrons is which etc, That is my largest problems, have no RTS exp from other games. So my concentration is trying to make some neutralization of enemy AC if I can and concentrate on man dropping. If I play coop I expect less insults than in random and I find that is generally the case but for those that abuses - think about the XP generation for the CVs to get any result the concentration to your own attack is necessary as the games is so short. And also I play Coop to train and that is to train man dropping and some strafing, optimal tactics is later. If i would play any randoms I would do that only in very limited quantities at first to check your progress. At T6 the number of Cvs that are quality on par with mine (low) are not that uncommon, so if I face a good CV player I know I lose but I must do some randoms to train. If there is a bad player who does not know strafing and man drops I sometimes can deliver decently, but preferably with a US. I am not fast enough for IJN multisquadrons, at least the opposite CV player must be even worse there. I have no problems with people get angry if I would play randoms but please consider we must start somewhere and that the large quality gap also gets so manifested in CVs so pls hold back at little, at least in coop and at lower/mid tiers as you now only can do the strafing and man from T6. We must dip our toes from time to time to train randoms. The rework will make all this moot however, I will not play it until it has gone a while so that the early balancing issues have been solved. If I play it later we will see, depends on forum response new guide etc. I am not sold on how it looks however, but I wait and judge. Hopefully the gap will become less at least.

well have grinded more or less only in coop from the summer and ar now at Midway and Taiho so we are a few. No other ship lines to grind, have even used some FreeXP will do it for the Hakuryu so I get 100 Steel.

WG, please don't award ranked star to last in the winning team.
Gnirf replied to RAYvenMP's topic in General Discussion
Nevertheless the system should be easy to understand, winning a game is a easy concept and do not differentiate between methods that contribute to a win which may be unfavourable in XP-generation like spotting etc. I will not say that the system is the optimal but the thing is if you play good and perform you rise faster, you have to put in more stars than just zero sum to make people progress, after all numbers that plays ranked is necessary to get the game mode viable for enough players. Even a bad player in ranked may come in a situation that he must stay alive and that is all that is needed (not to uncommon for a bad/stupid/coward/defensive/passive player), it would not be good if the rest of the team have sunk ships and that player would have to do a stupid attack in order not to be last on the scoreboard. For me the reward system in ranked should reward better players, does the system do that? Well if you play good you ranked out faster, those 45% players that often these threads point out are in fact rare (extremely rare in fact) compared with the massive numbers. That a handful of players rank out with 1000 games is a anomaly, and uninteresting in the grand scheme IMO. If you are constant on last place you will not generate enough stars, that you have some games where you perform less good happens to all but you must perform on average good some games also in order to rise to any high rank. I think system should be simple. I would rather have a discussion , now that we have ranked sprint - how should we reward them - and how many games should be needed to rank out or coming to say 5th rank and associated rewards in "classic" rank. I have always thought that the "classic" rank is too much of a grind, takes too much time in huge numbers of games with similar set-up. I would prefer more of the ranked sprint, less rewards, faster seasons and therefor also shifting tiers each seasons. If you are a good player in ranked sprint you rank out fast. I played the ranked sprint T5 seasons with great results, the classic ranked I have not bother much with. Now with the steel rewards I may put in more effort. But if the system is complex and gets different stars for winning, you can more or less just as well set up R1 750000XP, because that is what you essentially do, but you call it stars as the places are followed by XP and number of games are a function of winning and performing. No, it was not serious , but not far from it. The winning formula is simple, it has it drawbacks but it works. There will always be negative effects, but we must think about what are the effects on playerbase. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Gnirf replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Same to both of you -
Some points about this, also adressing the 19 p problem mentioned that it is how to get that. First of all do not say that a ship does not work, your stats is formidable in other ships, the didtribution curve of any ship is that only a tiny part gets 60 % or better, only a few percent at best when soloplaying. It is not unnatural that even if you are a born talent when you reach the higher tiers your stats will go down in those ships. Now to the captain point question. One thing you must consider is the amount of money you want to spend and time effiency. Every time you move a captain it costs money (doubloons) or/elite XP or grind time before it is up and running. It is when you have the 19 p captain that the elite XP start coming, (apart from some missions). Now consider also if you only want to play the T10 ships or you at least want a few lower tiers, which is good when doing missions and various ranked etc when you need a certain tier. You can of course buy a lot of premiums and put your T10 captain in built nevertheless there are ships that are fun in lower tiers. If you have so excellent results in those DDs maybe they are fun to play even in the future. Therefor take advantage when there is a sale on slots like now to stack up 15-20 or so disappeare quickly. Now to the captain management. As you need a captain for every silvership IMO the question is how to transfer them? IMO the optimal transferlevel is around 10 p, maybe up to 14 but it takes far longer to reach there. Now for me I have the goal to have at least 10 p on every ship in port = all silver ships that exists, but you will probably not be that extreme. Often it may be wise to start a new captain when you reach around 10, otherwise the cost of moving the captain is nearly the same as a new 10p in elite XP for a 19 p. While I have played suboptimal as I have not pursued 19 p on my T10 ships enough, the number of games that it takes to reach 19 is faster on T10, because of the higher XP points the higher up you go, ships becoming more expensive, the grind to next level takes longer (the costs rise more than the increase in XP/game will cover). Together with the cost of moving captains it might pay off to start several during a line. It depends on what you want in the future. The goal should be to start at least at 10 p on T7-8 and up. But the push from say 14 or so to 19 is better to do at T10. Especially with a permacamo which costs a lot (5000 doubloons) things speed up (100% XP + better credits both income and costs). I stop here, have you thought about your willingness to pay for ships/slots and moving captains with real money? Once you reach a bit longer in the game and getting a few elite captains it also pays off to have elite XP in store and move the captains with but also push the points when it has reached the final destination. I have now several captains and I both have 8 10 pointers for future Italian lines + 7 10p for the Russian battleships in store. I have stayed on 10 p and doing the eventual push to 14 by eliteXP when in place. You can buy a few captains in the Arsenal for coal. I have also most premiums in the game so I often play some games every day just to increase my eliteXP to have when needed. While a playable 10 p is around 180 000, a 19 p costs 1 700 000 so it is a huge difference. You must decide if you have time or money and how to proceed in the long term. But it is early days for you. It will take a while before your port is more efficient in generating eliteXP, it will look better when you have reached 4-5000 games.

Hmmm, I think I mostly use my 3 smokes. Besides it doubles as a Chappa captain and I will not risk running out of radars if the fight is drawn out.

Massive flooding damage I thought first, but then maybe the flooding chance is Zero (ice)?
-
The DCP has a faster reload than other BBs, but lasts 5 s not 15 , meaning that you must judge the moments you turn it on. Yes, she might be difficult w 6-7 p captains especially in T8 fights, but that is valid for all ships not just Warspite. You might try her in coop before you have 10 p captain. However it depends on your overall skill, all ships suffers when uptiered. If you are experienced you will make up for that easier. I like the Warspite, she has good guns and also workable secondaries. But I do not need to suffer with less than 10 p captains now.

Personal mission for Nueve de Julio ended 31-12?
Gnirf replied to The_Flying_Dutchman114's topic in General Discussion
Well, no mission is without enddate and previous post is correct, it was mentioned when you bought the ship and has always been stated when you look at the mission progress. It is the same for 3XP missions when you buy a ship etc, legendary modules, you can always look at them. In the case of the legendary modules the date has been altered, but that has also been communicated, previously they stated 31.12.18 now its 2019 something.. -
Advice to new players - get t10 RN cruiser right away

Dresden Reload has been nerfed! Your request has already been granted! -
Well, I guess Cherry Blossom is the easiest for me as a random player to win. In a 19 p Chapayev.

Gnirf replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Good to see you too @SirBlemmingtonSmythe , I have seen lots of forumites in the coop arena , it is pretty time efficient with 200%XP bonus too, with almost 100% WR you get a lot of XP per hour. Only bad thing is that with good players the damage is sometimes limited, have found that DDs is often easiest to perform in.Complemented you too ofc, See You! -
For me with SEK the prices was adjusted a few months ago as SEK has as usual a bad currency vs the EUR 2018.

Some permanent "Premium" cammos and some Tech Tree "Premium" ships are now on sale inside game (for Doubloons)!
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Yes, finally some use for doubloons, bought 6 Perma Camos, 5 T9 and 1 T7. Do not know if I will use them much, but 100% XPfor "free" is rather OK. In times like this when Coop is an alternative it is not that bad with such a perma camo. Only thing is my use of one-off premium camos will be lower, so then I really need to use them on the ships that have no perma .-camo and on T6 and above there are few left, mainly Cvs. -
For me it is the steel that you somehow value and the time that you "spare", like it is worth X amount of ranked grind. I have 1700-1800 premium camos already and 2 years of premium so it is hardly that value for me as the new player. Therefor I had to give in and buy the inflated max package to get a reasonable prize - mostly for me it is that all or nothing deals that I choose when there is new ships. Let us say that the packages could be stacked upon each other how many do you buy? I somewhat like the campaigns, I pay for the game in premium ships but I think it is definately too expensive but nevertheless bought it as I do have the money (difference 10-15 EUR is not important) it fits in the beer, whisky, movie account and other expendable entertainment. I have some steel earlier and with the ships that will trickle in I decided to bought this to myself for christmas. I bought 0 (zero) crates this year so this would be my outlay. It is rather horrifying to think that we count saved time in a F2P play game to work as value when I count if I would buy a package or not but as long as there are thing that you want whether it is captain grind or steel (ranked grind), and there are players with more time and money and vice versa, there will always be amarket for these packages that are targeted to one part of the player base.

When the ship was released the skin was bugged and it was discussed then, the bonuses still applied and ship looked like above. When new patches have arrived the bug was solved and it is the scheme showed in post 5.

Snowflakes - please comment with your daily progress in number of battles won and type of ships used
Gnirf replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
It is quite large amounts of coal, now you can get all the special radar and speed boost modules that you need. The French ships f.e. if you play them /or will in the future consumes a huge number. Radar modifications on US/RU ships etc. You never know whats in store. One of the reasons that I always keep a large number of ships and also want volume of whatever currency coal freeXP is that it gives you more freedom of choice in missions etc. If there is anything I would recommend it is playing for coal and take advantage of the port slots 75%. I have roughly 25 or so in store. I get a lot for free as i have all the ships in the PE campaign ofc. F.e. if you have the ARP ships T7 Premiums is quite valuable. They count as such so do not forget to take them out, easy to forget if you have them hidden in port. -
Snowflakes - please comment with your daily progress in number of battles won and type of ships used
Gnirf replied to pzkpfwv1d's topic in General Discussion
With 270+ ships in port I do not even have the power to count, but it trickles in decently. As I try to combine the PEF campaign (yes bought the ship) which also steers the choice of ships sometimes away (5 ships in random/ranked Nürnberg may take a while). Have mixed normal play with above all the low tier premium ships in coop and when appropriate missions is given coop snow flake grind. So many ships that I have not played for so long time ARP ships it is 9 of them, Izumo Emerald ships that I have thought I never touch again. Podvodsky, Aurora, Diana, Urrkkkkkk!!! At least the snowflakes is easy to see.
