What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Gnirf replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
A nice and very close König game. Got 38 plane kills and therefor made the directives . We were way behind but managed to creep back, in the end it was 2vs 2. Mutsuki and me vs 2 ships I got the Yubari but was caught by fire which I could not do anything about, fortunately my last salvo killed him and the Mutsuki w 1000 or so hp left managed to kill its counterpart equally low. Can not be closer. Certainly among the top 5 games funwise and 2690 Base XP in a T5 Battletier is great at least for me, absolutely one of the best at that tier that I have made. I complimented him ofc , luck was on our side and plenty of points in the Hall of Fame hunt . -
La Gal has the reload booster now so it nullifies that advantage somewhat, DeGrasse does not have that.

How long does it take for you to complete these directives?
Gnirf replied to Zigiran's topic in General Discussion
Yes but play IJN DDs in coop -there you got good dmg but do not play as in randoms especially if you have bots in your team, trick is to smoke up at the right moment (just before concealment range) when they see other ships in your team (very important), stop and kill the enemy DD with guns so you conserve your torps then rush the BB if there is a say 1 DD /1 Ca /1 bb where you spawn. BBs at T10 are 90-100 K. But you rush them close so you hit with all /nearly all. But this is coop tactic where you abuse the system (bot behaviour) not random. I have found this tactic to work well in coop as a DD. If you play early/late it is often a lot of bots in your own team so you do not even have to have bad concious . The cap thing esp if defence counts is also good in coop, just remember to stay outside the cap yourself then you get the defence caps when enemy bot enters, at least a few. -

Per battle/min you have more easy to get more damage etc the higher tier you play esp. in coop in DDs you can get high numbers pretty consistent, it is moree diff in cruisers decent in BBs as good DD players tend to kill the opposing BBs fast it sometimes dry up targets or game ends fast but then it has taken short amount of time. To be fair WGs directives /missions are harder at low/mid tiers in general . you will notice it when you reach longer in the game. Plane kill missions I often save to last ( have the RN ships so I get that mission done) , then you make all 3-4 at the same time. Please notice that so you can save 1-2 missions smartly, just prio to unlock next directive/stage. -
How is your Crown & Florin collecting (for the 3x RN CVs) going on?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Problem is 4th week where it in can be interpreted as it is no missions that gives ASC and crowns/florins. We will see if WG gives more containers away that has been shown yet. -

Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Got Furious on saturday 9th. Bought Exeter to get the extra 300 Florins in those 5 ASC and also the 4000 doubloons that is compensated for the ship, that can be used to buy crowns/florins later. I did that as I had read your earlier thread about the florins/crowns and there found out that you need to pay somehow. With the 2 RN 10p captains that comes with Implacable and Exeter I as a collector that keeps every ship and want a 10 p dedicated captain on each this was IMO the wisest way. I will do most daily missions (2) so it will be a decent amount there also. Have not calcultaed exactly how much more is needed for me, even watched most of the stream but there I could not see any container give aways . If I will not make Implacable with those 6000 doubloons and that 3x50 crown + exchange it will be superclose. Crowns will be enough it is the florins that might miss the mark with a few. -
These highlightyed made it for me. I am a veteran and so has had much doubloons in store from the times where WG actually had good doubloon opportunities when buying duplicates. I wited until Roma got into the tech tree for doubloons instead of buying her as it was one of the few ships to use my doubloons for that could be expected during that period. And the looks is good, usable in coop. I rather play the USN in randoms/ranked. Alfas yes, the cars you do not want to own due to costs/practicality/reliability/corrosion but to drive as a companys car. Always like those 60/70s Bertone coupes they look so great both inside and outside. Thats why I have owned BMW/Volvo/Merc but would have loved an Alfa as a companys car, as the risk would have been taken by others. I liked your post a lot , says it all

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
Gnirf replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Yes, spams a lot of coop battles when I am tired, I meet a number opf forum members and familiar names there. It is very timeefficient to do the missions and LU upgrades in T10 Coop with perma camos when you are tired and not fully concentrated. Been playing randoms lately mostly in Midtiers. Early in the morning I play a few quick battles before work and then when I return home, think I have met you @Aragathorboth early and late. -
Now to original subject, the game as it matures will get a larger difference between players, and also as there are so many veterans now. Step back one moment and think how it was for us that started in 2015 when the game were released, we were all on afar more equal playing field. Now many of us may be thick , some talented but the majority I think plays as we like the subject. It is not only the experience but the far more advanced captains etc. When you reached the midtiers earlöy in the game, neraly all players in t6-7 mid tiers had low skilled captains now many have very strong. It is fully natural that the standard may be declining from a pure statistical standpoint, if you as a veteran gets more skilled you will see all mistakes better, that is natural. If the standard is declining overall, no I do not think so but the difference is larger so it might feel so for you personally.
-
Even if your numbers may be chosen for convenience the majority lies between 47-53 % solo. The numbers that overall have below 40 or over 60 are smaller than many think. While there is always room for improvment, if you play a variety of ships in all classes and tiers it is very few players only a few players that reaches 60% solo. Besides many do rerolls, I do not. I have 55 % , even if I would play my best ships in order to statpad it would take me years to reach your acceptable level and I play for fun and to win but I do not play to statpad, and I do not play in div.

It is difficult to say that you should be on that position as you can play too defensively or in a ship where the performance varies more due to its role. If you play a BB you can stay away and often get a decent result especially in a losing team as you survive a lot with experience, but as a DD or CA you have to take risks especially if the fight turns the wrong way and you need to do something to turn it around, and you then often get sunk and gets the loss certain yes, but you would have lost anyway. I play generaly for win not placing myself in the team.

Would have been great to have torps AA fire and shells coming out of that kind of ship

Met @Seinta just now, playing Flint. Played the Exeter myself. Fortunately Seinta managed to carry our team to a lead as most (not all) of our Battleships went too far away from Tridents epicenter zone. Cant remember exactly but roughly 5 of our first 6/7 kills was due to that player . Resulted in compliment ofc. Managed to do some assistance and as a Exeter player in a T7 game I think I did quite good. Hope I do not meet you in the other team. Result screen: -
True, it means that players like myself that are active and have the time to probably get the ship for free are getting enough incentive so that we splash cash instead. The ease of getting the mission if workload suddenly increases etc , less stressful etc. I have as a rule bought most ships at release if they are ships that I want anyway. The compensation in extra containers etc have made the difference. If I had been at the same work situation as when WOWS where released where I had temporary assigments mixed with more time the calculation would have been different. Now I have time but it is more rigid and does not allow for huge increases.

Fly! Strike! Win! Event - Non-paid Crowns and Florins Estimates
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I thank you all for calculating stuff. After a bit of reasoning I have come to the conclusion that you have to pay money to get the T8 RN CV. As the packages comes with lots of special flags that are nice and in the case of the T8 a 10 p (which leaves only the T4 and 6 to be raised to 10 my minimum level with elite XP) I have chosen to buy Exeter which gives me 4 more standard + 1 premium container. With the doubloon compensation I can buy crowns later to fill up the missing parts, I want to have the least possible lootboxes to buy as possible, as I got all the ships already. The 10p in the Exeter pack can be moved to the T10 CV later. RN is the only large navy that I do not have any spare captains in. I have in almost all these events bought the ship as it eases the pain, but now at least the packages that are offered are quite alright with the extra goodies. I understand fully players with no/less money but for me compared to other events this is not the worst, but a reasonable event thought it is hard to calculate. Nevertheless in most events it is better to by f.e. Exeter in this case at the earliest moment rather than wait if you chose to buy. I sort of calculate with some missions in the directives that are Exeter exclusive or almost that (thats WGs style from past events). The 25 XP missions is also of some worth. I have been more hesitant than usual this time but Exeter is a ship I want in my port so I fell for it as usual, sadly for my wallet. Must be WGs dream customer? Regardless of GC affair etc -

Played my Boise today and had a fun and really tight game to the finish. Only 1 survivor , we were down to 2 vs 2 close in points, but slightly behind and me very low health in my Boise together with a slow Colorado vs Myoko and Blyska, managed to sink the Myoko but now barely alive, so managed to set the Blys down to 180 hp or so , then I was sunk but Colorado managed to hit the DD before he disappeared and that clinched our victory, it is seldom you see only 1 survivor in a game , were so happy with the game that I complimented 5 of our team. Over 2000 base hp is at least for me good at T7. I really like Boise. Also the fact that I got 13 planes after 5 Atlanta/Helena games without Cvs was nice (The 30 kill Exeter mission). Also shown is a coop Republique game it is quite difficult to reach 296 K damage as the 4 bots in my team + enemy bots often kills each other fast. -
Interesting... the "Alaska" can be bought on RU server for around 65 Euros...

400 games? Not sure about your reasoning, if you play 400 games and not dishing out money in any form it is impossible to get 6000 FreeXP/game. The numbers of FreeXP signals and camos that are completely free are not that high. You need also ships on a high enough tier to produce sufficient numbers of XP. If you dish out money for conversion (which you need games for to accumulate on elited ships or premiums) you save time. What is the difference between dishing out money for containers that gives you flags or converting XP? Well probably it is cheaper if you play and use flags but it cost time. It is not a problem for me to accumulate FReeXP but for a new player that starts from scratch it is. -
Not more than 172, tend to get more confed and dreadnoughts in the ships I play
-
If there are any meaning for the achievements and other sales of flags they will be costly. so that is not a easy choice to take them.

even if this guide is old the most of it is very valid still:

yes i know but still ...have expected a few more but I might just have got the really bad RNG stick. No it was a another T8 CV but do not remember which of Lex or Shokaku
-
Well I will probably try some time without changing unless it is extremely obvius, my AA kills have been somewhat strange someytimes - I got focused by a enemy Saipan and managed to down 2 planes in several waves together - even if he probably was a very good player that is abysmal result before I was sunk (focused by other ships also but nevertheless it was several waves ) but another game same day I killed 15 or so In Kutuzov without effort or own damage to planes.

What should happen to the Giulio Cesare? - The Complete Poll
Gnirf replied to Procrastes's topic in General Discussion
Yes I agree with you there, but it is interesting to see if it differs a lot. My point is that the premium ships are pretty expensive , if they would have costed 1-2 EUR is a huge difference to WOWs prizes of up to over 100 EUR in the expensive packages, that is a lot. Think of Jean Bart - say that such a ship would be uptiered to T10. So I say no from a strategic view as it will probably send a precedent that will make people risk averse in buying premiums. And the premium ships are probably a large part of WGs revenue and incentive to bring out new ships both silver and premium. It is therefor important to not scream away potential customers and as a hard core customer I am probably more important than notorius free riders. I love naval history and naval ships and therefor I invest a lot in the game to make it prosper - I hardly see any other game that I will buy into or play instead. The free riders are important to bring players to the game and populate servers but to bring revenue my opinion as one person weights more than non play players if I stop investing in the expensive ships it will cost more to WGs revenues. And I do not only buy many I buy them often when first released so that the pay back comes faster from customers like me. Therefor it is important that WG develops its tracking of new ships better and above all not releasing OP ships sell them hard and after a while nerf them without good sale back options, doubloons is a debatable compensation as the prem ship may be bought for sentimental reasons not necessary because it is good. A Italian might buy Roma, but have no use of an Alabama. So it is not just game balance but a careful strategic outlook which we naturally might have different opinions on but the free riders will bring no revenue (or very indirect revenue at least, which is far harder to calculate). That is why is interesting to see if it differs a lot. That is also why my vote is no. But that might change for ships released in the future provided that it is trial periods etc which they are subject to change. I doubt that prizes will be lower, in fact I feel more likely it i will be prizeincreases if we look at large bundles. I might be willing to take risks but only if you know in advance of the circumstances and terms of refund and if you buy a ship after a certain period they are nonchangeable - do B type of ships. You might even have trial buys that you will get a early rebated lease to have a larger number of ships in testservice before release, if they are withdrawn or nerfed you get a coupon to use on everything in store incl. the nerfed/unnerfed ships. The ideas and variations of this is endless. But not to old ships that have been marketed as rare ships in christmas crates. I know that the post is somewhat repetetive but i have formulated my thoughts a little better. It is the same thing like a vote earlier in my country of road congestion taxes in Stockholm - naturally people who did not have cars or company cars where the employer paid the tax did not mind as much as poorer working class people who may live outside the tariff zones and paid themselves.
