Queen Elizabeth - any point having as well as Warspite?
Gnirf replied to gustywinds's topic in General Discussion
Well if you are a collector of especially RN ships why not? I have all ships and the credits to spend on every ship. So a T6 ship does not blow the bank. Gameplaywise no, but the sligthly longer range may be useful sometimes 17,1 vs 16,3. Warspites better turn radius 550 vs 680 m compensates. better AA at least earlier for QE- But in the end only if you are collector. I have played QE nearly nothing, always Warspite. -
How often do you find yourself in tight equal games?
Gnirf replied to kapnobathrac's topic in General Discussion
What is a tight and fun game? it is a question of definition also. How long does it take for a game to snowball or so. At the end a 5 vs 0 ships left game can seemed to be uneven but it might well have been close in 10 minutes and then by a simple mistake a key figure makes a mistake , a lucky/skilful shot/salvo or so makes that flank collapse and so on. If we count extremely close games that have been wins by say 1000-995 or by a single ship sinking in the closing stages (or surviving) it is a few %, but if we are more generous and say games that are undecided albeit with an advantage taht you do not feel it iis hopeless to turn forat least 2/3 of the game it is far more. But @eliastion above has already explained why, and I and several others have made similar comments from the beginning of Wows forum in threads like this. The snowball effect is unavoidable, for me steamrolls happens but OK games are the majority = not many games are hopeless, and if they are they are over quickly. -
Tromp is way smaller with a hitpool of maybe 18-20000 , she is very compact and lightly armoured. Think of ships like D-T and Phoenix at T4, Yes I would say she can be balanced for T4 with ease, there are other Dutch ships more suited to T5 and T6.
-
Tromp can be put at T4, look at the cruiser opposition there or T3 even.

Yes Kutuzov game when your team almost fail to do anything - had 2 surface ship + 1 cv that helped me on my flank against 6 sank 4, the rest of my teams 7 non Cv ships failed to sink a thing on their flank, last enemy ship was sunk by the CV, when the enemy closed in, the enemy Cv tried to cap - thank you for Kraken. One enemy player was really good -rest were below me, nevertheless a good Kutuzov result

port slot 300 that is the difference

Yes and also for all the various missions that have granted lots of permacamos at T6-8.

I have decided to stop playing for WR and instead focus on having fun. Its not worth the stress or time to focus on battle outcomes!!!
Gnirf replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
While your overall reasoning is true , the bell curve is very pronounced, making those numbers too high. If we try do do some basic assumption on how to rate players. We must say that regardless of the individual player in a say unicums eye are bad the average player is around the average WR in playerbase. We can not say that a player is ggod or bad just because he is worse than some player at say 57 %. Players can also have talents and weaknesses that are exposed if they play solo rather than div or certain ships. Or like in old days where some CV players had extremely high stats, but for a average player which plays a variety of ships and tiers 60% for good or 70% for extraord is too high if you want to have a resonable amount % wise. I mean we talk abou handful players over 70. I am not Englishspoken by birth but for me decent is roughly average or just above. If we divide say the players from 1-100 and say that extraord is 1% I am pretty convinced thats below 70% and if you say Good is 10 % way below 60 maybe 57?. Depends a little how we count as it was some time since I studied this but I did it once pretty early in Wows. Over 60 were just a few %. Now we talking solo overall in a variety of ships. we can always debate of numbers vs wording good/bad etc but it must be some sort of relative performance vs Playerbase. -

My take on this is simple: I always do my best to win, sometimes it may be of conflict with mission goals however I try to improve , my stats are however very slow to move on other things than individual ships Nevertheless it is a major difference to play "only" for fun or play normally I do not think it helps the player to be obssesed by reaching a certain amount of damage or so in the game , to think about it to much. If you try to play good doing actions that will increases the chances to win in the long run you are on the right track Take a dip from time to time in the stats but do not worry of short term swingarounds - it is great numbers that are meaningful (many fights) But do not let the stats make you unnecessary cautious or risktaking if you notice that stats taking over the gameplay try to relax more Itis different for every player what makes you play good and if too much focus on stats will makes you play worse or not Naturally the game should be entertainment and winning is a part of it but not all. If winning is the only reason to play then perhaps try your dedication in a game with more profit. BTW Play for fun does not include throwing the game away or going mid in Two brothers -
Do you still use BFT & AFT on your ships (regarding free Commander re-spec in upcoming WoWs v0.8.2)?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Question is can it be wiser to take the combination of JOT/High Alert on BBs that are not so interesting in secondaries? It is 4p each choice. -
How is your Crown & Florin collecting (for the 3x RN CVs) going on?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
That is right , it is hopeless for you. You need to grind your T6 and/or FreeXP at the relevant moment (meaning when there is an offer), it will be cheaper. Why not grind as usual? -
I guess you mean König Albert (T3) and not König at T5. Nevertheless Dreadnought is the ship and if you have a good RN captain you can always teke advantage on 200% first win days etc. I rarely played her after the 25 bonus XP games that was included in the purchase of the Vanguard/dreadnought package but it all depends on your ship situation. Bellerophon is a better ship but Dreadnought you can use your high end captain in.

With 1,8 Mil FreeXp and Alaska and everything else in port it is a FreeXP sink so not much choice other than to get. Rememeber it can always be played in coop to take advantage of snowfalke events and 200% First win and so on. As a collector it is just to splash the cash (FreeXP)
-
Well If he is below 19 it is advisable to use him much to get him to 19 p regardless if the build is not perfect for every ship. When you have 19 p most captains at least in differnt BBs/CAs at the higher tier fe the skill Superintendent is useful on both as you say. When you reach 19, even if he is on say 14 useful points in another premium ship he may be OK to play with and generating eliteXP.

Coop and its good to play early/late as your own team often have many bots then and abuse them. Best play is often with DD as the bots can aim quite well. Go in front and position yourself so you can smoke up , and they can fire at your teammates kill your opposite DD with guns and then hopfully its you that take out the next ship w torps then only one left. Hopefuly it will take a few games.

100? Yes but they have a larger player base. I do not play WoT is it other teamsizes there?

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
Gnirf replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
As you mention it, I think they did. But perhaps it could be wise to give us an update even if they do not want to present their further tech tree plans so much (well they have presented Pan-european) they at least can say if there are still those obstacles around so they have to postpone it, they have at least fixed 4 ships for some sources + 1 DD in progress. -
Well in the clan battles you have a divisional progression and if new small clans should playing their opponents which are of their class you need numbers also - it is not just a question of going into battle. I have no problems with that some clans are picky and more elite - that is what we need a healthy numbers for. And I do agree that some clans will have a lifespan as the founding m,embers leave etc, that might lead to another function that maybe WG should implement - mergers so that two clans which migh die otherwise can merge and instead of having 5-10 left out of 30 slots they can pool their resources thus making use of their history, it is like when two cooperations merge. But I am convinced that there is a suitable limit to what the clan size should be. There is a reason why not B-teams etc are allowed to play without limitations in the football league systems. Therefor I also limit teams to 1 to prevent transfers etc which makes it unfair. Some of these thing might go to work with if enogh rules and limitations are set. But to those who says it is not enough - what is the optimal size? Do you not see any dangers?
-
Sue, but you still does not think about the overall playerbase numbers and what is the purpose of the clans if they want to have tournaments, designing progression (see my post 4)
-
I wrote yes above, but that is because you have not 3 options, current size is OK. Because I do not want to say No indicating I want larger sizes. I have made a post (4)with my issues.

Statistical analysis: Container gathering for 1 year by normal playing!
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Interesting as usual Leo! I really thank you for all your efforts. I made statistics during my first two years and now I simply do not have the time (inspiration) to catch up even though I write it down in a Warship diary book all containers together with all events. But as many of you I used TYL until the arrival of More resources. But so much I can say : I have played for 3 containers most days. If I look at my old figures and I did also divide them between various nerfs/changes to containers as i did write every containers content. - 0.6.1 13 SC in 327 the flag rewards was 250 then. 0.6.1(2?) - 0.6.8 20 in 448 Mixed. No ships etc in either After this I have recieved X number but I guess its around 2 %. In these stats above no supercontainers as presents or missions in campaigns are counted. But I have been lucky with ships lately, got Massachusetts late last year (only dropable ship, had the rest) and now recently Mutsu which i recieved doubloons for. In the Halsey campaign i think it was i got DeGrasse which was also given out as doubloons but you recieved the captains ofc. So all together 3 ships but bear in mind that I have almost max number -
Now finished. Yes I did run ramming flag just in case. But I did not need it in the game I succeded after 5 games in coop in payfast it was alldone. The 20 citadels I did in Fiji, Leander, Belfast and Nelson. All are usable. Considering the match up I would say do not underestimate Leander - I got 6 in one game. Especially if you play randoms there are lot of good cruisers to fire at prone to citadels. So even if Fiji have 12 guns and Leander 8 - the opposition are better so to speak.
