I think that there are some variable that also need to be added. Pace that you want to play at. I have now got the Ohio just recently. I am on my third reset on IJN BBs a line that I perform decently in at least consistently even if I lose 50%, I do reasonable damage which pays the credit outlay. (I know that I have credits to get rid of but I do not want too much deficit. This are also a line that I can grind hard if necessary for falkes etc. But it is also a line that I now have high end captains in which will make the use of special signals more rewarding (grind and elite/research points) . Also combinations that are same country are prob beneficial. French and US BBs I have made through one each. Now I am on my as noted third IJN (at T7) RU BB at T7 and IJN gunboat at T7. Last one is a line that I take more slowly grinding even in coop as I need more FreeXP too many new ships with uncertain currencies in wait. So ships that are tolerable to grind stock in coop are also good. what is your strategy capatin and shipwise? Do you keep the ships and have captains for each or may add more. Or you just sell or maybe some middleway. I am a collector and have dedicated for each ship in all lines and the resets have made me grow captains so I starting to reach 19 on several middle tiers. So that gives a snowballeffect. What premiums do you have. Now I have premium on all US BBs except T7 (w Ohio) from T5 so that line is easily the least necessary silver line. I have also several different 19 p captains so I can play the premiums to good effect if there is some ranked or similar.

True, I play for sure 25 hours to reach the top 5% which I usually do ( a few times 10) and that is the maximum I can put in. Yet I have maybe 20-25% of the top dogs.

Comparison of "Snowflakes 2018" to upcoming "Snowflakes 2019" ...
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Well you can say that the rewards are more "equally " distributed through playerbase so that not only the collectors /veterans with many Tier X gets stuff . Now medium invested players/newer can get a lot of steel too. I am more disappointed over that one will probably get a lot of flags. I would have been more happy with 75 steel/T10. -
Past years the chances have been higher way higher, but to use old stats is difficult. I do not have them by hand but of the largest ones when I have bought larger quantiuties 10 %or so if I recall correctly. But the value is so differnt, how do you value the other stuff for yourself? If you are satisfied with any premiums the value in christmas boxes have been the best apart from the first Halloween boxes where you got doubloons for duplicate peracamos. How much do you really want Kutuzzov etc and the other rare. If they are more or less the only ships that are missing you will probably on average net good value. But if you have very few do not buy if you are not willing that the chance of getting a rare ship is remote. I miss a few ships now so I will buy some. But last year I bought 0 as I had all the ships. the Year before that I bought perhaps 60-80 of various sizes, many small also and recieved maybe 4-5 ships Gremy was the last and Kamikaze 2nd last. As there are special flags now to recieve it may be more interesting - it comes down to prize. On the other hand the first year 2016 I got the Nikolai.

Now mostly 4-10 midtiers 5-8 mostly higher up certain ships, grind/coop/ranked is otherwise, I play Smolensk in coop not in random,Zao in random not in coop fe.

Even if you have a deticated 19 p for Massa assign him to a low/mid tier silver ship where he is functional if not optimal

Well it is really a christmas present to all us Swedish players!! Does not matter if they are somewhat modified from reality and 1 is the ex. Italian DD (T3 not surprisingly). Sweden bought 4 DDs/Torp boats from Italy and two of them wre named after Swedish admirals/captains and the other two were at the "request" of the Italians named with proper reference to their origin (Romulus and Remus). I hope they will be playable - I would be disappointed ofc if my own countrys DDs are boring/hopeless but nevertheless Great news. Maybe the release of Sweden DDs as the first line are due to access to drawings as earlier have been pointed out. With such a domination of Swedes I guess that the Dutch will probably get an own branch say from T3 Onwards and that Tatra is the branching point or maybe even from T1. So I certainly understand a disappointment from our Dutch players, but it may be actually good news for future releases, It is certainly easy to do a Dutch DD line as well, with mostly/only? original designs.

Distribute rank 1 players equally! [Edited]
Gnirf replied to 2016Split's topic in General Discussion
OP Pls note the result and R1 members in each team. But I know I am a little harsh. I am of the opinion that Ranked is a slight indication among several others but WR etc overall and in resp. ship matters more. Besides a random distribution is random that also means like if you play cards you have some good hands some average and some bad. That means that over a large number of games you will also have a few statistical outliers like the distribution in your game or as in mine (regardless if R1 matters or not). -
Thank you for your efforts

Duplicate drop rate for Italian collection?
Gnirf replied to Aragathor's topic in General Discussion
11/16 + 7 duplicates have bought the containers that I could afford in the armory (standard ofc) for the tokens. So it should be OK. -
Will play as usual and compared to normal people its hard core so we will see how the real directives turn out and how forums info about planning ev extra spending will make me spend doubloons to be certain.

Possible Royal Navy premiums not yet covered?
Gnirf replied to Fodder1978's topic in General Discussion
well one reason is also that the other battle line ships generally did 21 kts so 23 was no use when designed. I think jellicoe hought that QE was between two stools, the battlecruisers and the battlöeships of 21 kts. -
yes naturally, but I plan to reset two lines now and have them ready before the snowflakes end. I want a few lines reset at every time that are in progress but now I had to reset these two a little before , but those 2 I have in action atm will be ready before ending likewise, I am T8 now and 6 for them. I have premium signals for quick play if necessary. If you add say 2 of the premium signals combined with good camo it goes quite fast. The new lines Ita and French are for me collector lines and thus I can take them slow.
-
I do a reset when the new season begins next week, will not bother plan too much after all if you get 30 or 31 TX containers and 75? steel on a few ships will not matter. I plan to have these lines back in 2 months, next reset i do on a line when the flakes have been cleared in late dec. after some time here most vetarns with many lines will have at least 1 line /season and the reward is not that strong.

Playing for fun / Frustration... The core issue with the game?
Gnirf replied to DFens_666's topic in General Discussion
@DFens_666 will not quote your post. Adress a few points I will gladly do as with my numbers of games I have some techniques that helps me. First of all I love the ship models especially the "real" ships. That means I play all tiers even if it is less lower tiers than before. The most fun I get in the middle tiers and in some high tier ships. In mid tiers the game meta is more to my liking as a solo player. I try vary my goals whether it be regrind for research points , captain grind , new lines or so. I am not afraid to pay to progress i.e. buying containers with special flags etc. or quicker fulfilment of grinds , directives etc. I can afford that in reasonable amounts. I have a goal of the equiv. of say 50 cents/hour played, as you can see I have played a lot. I am very interested in the subject of naval warfare so the competetive gaming experience is not my priority (RB and CB), but. does not make me not playing for a win or reasonably updated on videos etc , and when you play that much for all long time you know most key values by default at least within enough good parameters. One thing also is somewhat related to the thread about to much going on. I do make choices and I am positive to have several things going on, remember in the beginning it was not much. You can not go to every restaurant , I am glad to have a choice. It is easier for me that does not play anything else, I have chosen to stay away from tanks - there you have vehicles from my own country Sweden, but I am less far interested in tanks, though I am interested in land warfare and air warfare also btw.. I could also have played in the Multiplayer spacegames another interest but I have made the deliberate choice. I also do not dwell much into ranked. If the rewards would have been different I might have played more. i ranked out only in the first ranked sprints which is IMO a excellent game mode , if the reward for R1 would have been say 1000 steel (1/30 Stalinggrad) this would probably change my mind. As of now I can play a few games but not if there are other things i like to do more. I am afraid of the subs to be fair, Cvs well I do not play them either before or after so that is not the gamechanger for me. I am also think it is rather sad to see so many negative posts, I do like the game overall still after 4 years and I also think that activities are overall positive for the game. One thing I disagree with you is your attitude with coop, I grind shiplines that I do not like in coop a lot and when I am tired, eating breakfast before work or so on or otherwise just does not want to concentrate that hard Coop is perfect, spamming HE with Smolensk, charging in with bismarck/Tirpitz do the things you can not do really in random. Also when grinding eliteXp t10s with permacamo some games is efficient and not flagconsuming. -
Comparison of "Snowflakes 2018" to upcoming "Snowflakes 2019" ...
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Well I hope to reach my 2nd Steel ship mid/late year 2020 with coupon. I have 5453 steel and a few ranked will net around 2-3000 steel /season as I play them, we will see if there will be other opportunities. -

Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
I do not play cB either , however it helps to invest a few games in Ranked , even if its only 10-15 it usually nets around 2000 steel down to around R10 assuming you have played before, ptherwise some more the first season. -
Comparison of "Snowflakes 2018" to upcoming "Snowflakes 2019" ...
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Well, the figures are quite clear for the steel and coal numbers and there it is lower this year but overall it depends on the Tier X boxes, overall it is free stuff but the steel if it should be meaningful can not be too low, at least for those who does not play ranked or clan. But for me it should be a OK boost nevertheless, my judge will depend on how har the grind for puerto Rico is and if it is easy and not too expensive to complete with doubloons. I have doubloons which I more and more find difficult to use so we will see. -
"Back to port" button - why does it exist?
Gnirf replied to ForlornSailor's topic in General Discussion
Well I can tell you that my cat somehow blocked the keyboard by pressing buttons, it could only be fixed by quitting the game and restart the PC, I was back soon enough and I never got punished so I could participate in the game. Very rare ofc but no AI pls! -
A tpoic with polarized views ofc. But it is too easy to say that ships can be handled. The meta always shifts and to say that fires is always at the right level regardless of ships etc is not correct. Especially when you face several of them. For me that plays many games it evens out. But for those that plays a few it might feel different. Remember RN BBs? Now there is a few ships newly released that are fragile but irritating, if the team compositions are reflected in new ships that are annoying it can be less fun, but I expect it to wane after some months. There is always something. Now you can have 2-3 Smolensk per team, in some months there be other strong/new ships. But regardless of numbers, most fun is a balanced composition of teams IMO, or at least plenty of variation i.e. difference between games.
