I value them for Elite XP training not XP gain. Have not converted XP to FreeXP since Missouri.
-
Personally if it is a ship that I might like and on T8 and above I value them quite a lot. As my old premiums do not have that massive XP boost and it is infinite numbers. It is therefor even useful to waste in quick coop games. Far better than the 25 limit. That is the reason why I in the Russian cruiser event bought Bagration to speed up RU captain for the split line. Even for me a T8 with 3x bonus is valuable compared to a T10 of any nation. Now nearly all ships tends to come to armory the normal doubloon way or christmas crates so it is a nice bonus to those that buys a ship instantly. So especially for those that are not flag heavy it is of some value. You can calculate for yourself how you value the extra captain XP as it depends on how much you play. But say that you have 50% normal first win bonus and 1000 XP as base and play 3 games a day. It is with a normal T8 prem (w 50% camo) No premium. 1000+500+500=2000+1500+1500=You have at least 1 win in 3 games. Total 5000. With 3 XP bonus 1000+500+500+3000=5000+4500+4500=14000. 9000 Extra XP x42=378000 Captain/Elite XP. How do you value that ? It is up to you. Please understand that I did this calculus on the fly and there are certainly players that are able to correct me but whatever exact method you came up with , do the math and then you can value it. It has at least made me more interested in buying ships, as I do not need any premiums more these benefits are one thing that can persuade me to buy another one that is otherwise hard pass. Despite having too many already I hope for some real ships which made me tick, can even think of some lower tier (RN, German battlecruisers f.e. ) a Dido with smoke to name a few. But if you have already a few elitedcaptains on T10 ships with permacamo, the lower tiers XP are too small to itself get the calculation right. Nevertheless I do think it is a nice initiative to offer unlimited XP-bonuses during the period.

I bought the starterpackage for 8000 doubloons = 8 stages. That meant that Imanaged to get 26 Stagepoints as I did the 18 as you. 2 of the 8 were used to get 20= Odin. Rest 6 was surplus = Steel. As was stated. Sorry but you must have misunderstood.

Its one new per week, but you can only get them through the streams, so you have multiple chances during the week until next one comes, presumably the EU stream on thursday will be a new mission.
-
Its the same mission from earlier streams 5 stages 12-1600XP Random/ranked and 1 container as final reward, for those that missed the previous ones like I did so I am grateful to you @Ocsimano18 Do not forget it is only valid during stream and a short while afterwards

[Poll] Success of the "Odin" dockyard event...
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Well I say yes, but that as a player with some wallet, 8000 doubloons for the starter pack so it was like many events today, decent amount of things if you are prepared to spend some. And Graf Spee should be attainable for all with decent effort. -

Complete lunatic ship = must have

Guess they do it like this to be able to do a 3rd split later. I agree with you , they must be slow to be some resemblance to Soutth Dakota and the others it is their forte, slow and heavy fire power, it is their design philosophy during that period. I guess that these will make it easy to do a RN BB split later with the G3 class on top w 9-18. I have some Japanese books on the IJN 8-8 class in Japanese (which I do not understand) but they are full with scetches and drawings and 3d pictures with lots of "paper designs" , while we can say that these are paper /design ships that WG takes great liberty in doing for the game, most navies did massive numbers of early studies. USN never had any battlecruisers, I have a article in one of the Warship books and there are numerous design variants /scetches leading up to the final Lexington design so in order to fill the customers that likes RN and USfor years to come I guess they have to make a fictional/design split even for tha large navies. Sure we have several smaller navies left and I guess they will alternate these with splits whether of real or designs/paper ships. I must say that lots of these design variants sadly demands rather much time to search on internet. I remember a few years ago when some >Japanese university I think it was had digitalized the Hiraga archive full with scetches, comments and papers, hundreds of documents which I scratched a little, and saw plenty of the scetches some of which have been included in the book above "Hachi- Hachi" fleet. Sadly I have only the Warship series 1-49, + all yearbooks and there you have some articles, with design studies, but I do not have any Warship International and no library in Sweden have them so I am more or less dependent on Internet, but there are massive numbers of paper designs that are not known to a wider audience. But the time is not enough, I am following some internetforum NawWeaps f.e. on Tapatalk but there are more. I have personnaly not anything against WG introducing lines like this as it seems there are more ships that are released, split line/full lines in a faster pace.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
Gnirf replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
Pretty satisfied with this Izmail game, just managed to get the 5 achievments in one game mission solved which is nice, 2200 B+ base XP in a T6 game is alright. Most of the players probably have the Kuznetzov on Kremlin, I have him on Izmail instead as I enjoy midtier play more. -
Well it is not certain they arrive at the same time, I am also curious if they will be possible to get in the Santas boxex (in the rare ships category). Personally I will probably wait and see here as I do not expect them to be cheap. I think many of us veterans wants Black and Flint, now that we get the chance, will accumulate ofc to be ready.
-
How is the credits for Black compared to other T9s. The Freemium T9s are good creditwise but how are Black (and Flint, Neutrxxxx that RU T9) copmpared to the normal premiums?
-
You upgrade and put on BFT/AFT. See below for your ideal captain for maximum clubbing education! I have ignored CE, you should fire nearly always. Best to combine with Fire reduction and nov foxtrot flag for maximum power.Bogatyr is an excellent Flag collector for Kraken and Confederate.

What purchases have you enjoyed the most?
Gnirf replied to NothingButTheRain's topic in General Discussion
For cash: Ishizuchi - value for money I have played her a lot , not so much since the mission req increased to T5 though. One of my first premiums, first was Atago if I remember correctly. The first christmas boxes i bought in 2016? where I recieved LoYang Anshan Tirpitz and ....Nikolai. The joy I felt when I drew Nikolai in the lottery I have not felt since. Back then before several other lines like Orion f.e. and Wyoming and other have had their range adjusted Nikolai were superstrong. Now I nearly think, it would be possible to release the ship again. Slow , No AA, not that long reach 14,1 km I think and slow traverse, but the guns are superaccurate, its like Yubari sort of and that the 3 first turrets face forward is very good most of the time. In todays Cv meta and missions from T5 makes me play Nikolai far too little, sadly. Overall as a veteran I have had the fortune to get nearly all rare ships, but I miss the Iwaki and Arkansas Beta, would gladly pay for them but it is not going to happen. -
What is your biggest purchase regret! (edited)
Gnirf replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
Yes, I have nothing againt the ship but I have already Marblehead and Lima is just a variant, likewise I have the double Tachibana + lima and Diana + Lima so there are many ships I have just for the sake of it. The original Marblehead I bought together w Murmansk in a 50% off sale. I also bought some of the lower premiums as they were often a easy way to get directives/stages in various events when you got the doubloon return and also to be able to stop from getting them in Santas, -
What is your biggest purchase regret! (edited)
Gnirf replied to Mad_Dog_Dante's topic in General Discussion
I guess as a collector it is difficult to regret ships you buy but seldom /never play Marblehead Lima and such, it is in the collectors nature. It is more when you buy things and are unlucky with timing, sale next week or so. The whole collector approach in itself maybe. I have a better income now so I can do more purchases to save time for the ships that I like i.e. to buy horrible lootboxes with special signals that makes you grind faster, I still want the ships with a good captain in my collection so signals and camos help with that on shorter time, so skipping ships is not the primary goal. But probelm is taht it is hopeless often to do a informed purchasing choice. F.e. In the latest Russian event it was after a while clear that the drops were horrible and I did in fact made the right choice to buy one premium at the start to get a decent number of tokens, but I did not know that then, in other events I have done the wrong choice. -
Well I did a ambitious work and noted all containers in the beginning in the first years of play, as below, when major changes in the drops /system occured I did new. While I stil note them in a notebock of antique model (ink and paper) as with all major progress, in excel I have not the time to do it I rather play, but I have no reason to feel that the chances have decreased. I would say that I have 96-98% % at least of the 3 per day/containers. Results with stats: 20161020-20170208 (until 0.6.1) i principle all TYL 13/327 SC 20170209-20170719 (until 0.6.7) most TYL (448/462) 20/448 SC I took TYL but when the resource containers arrived I went over to these. I have recieved 5 ships in supercontainers (these includes Supercontainers from events, but not any Santas). In the beginning you had 250 flags as the flag haul and also credit containers 20 000 000 as the highest I think. If I just watch briefly in my notebook I have drawn 20 since 20191026, all resource containers (or automated drop when I forgot to choose). 20191029 15000 Coal 20191126 100 Nov Echo Setteseven 20191229 50 revolutionary camo 20200107 25 Hydra 20200112 1000 Doubloons 20200122 100 ESCL 20200125 100 Zulu Hotel 20200126 15000 Coal 20200213 7 days Premium 20200219 15000 Coal 20200223 100 India Yankee 20200301 100 ouroborus 20200302 50 Leviathan 20200317 7 days premium 20200422 50000 freexp 20200515 15000 coal 20200526 50 restless fire 20200609 15000 coal 20200613 India xray 20200617 25 Ouroborus If I count with 98% 3 containers a day it is 20/694=2,88%, so I believe I am on the lucky side of the draw here, no spectacular wins though. I have never got steel in a SC apart from the Jubilee containers.

If your fleet is relative small I would never go for the commander, Thunderer is probably more useful. if you have huge numbers of (Russian ships), incl. Premiums Kuznetzov is strong no doubt. If you planning to play competetive even more so. But otherwise ships. Especially if you are F2P or nearly so the coal ships are a good way to get high tier premiums.

[Poll] Will you buy new IJN Tier X DD "Hayate" for 2M "FreeXP" ?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
A little update: Bought Hayate yesterday. 2 of the 3 new German ships I will get via the Dockyard and soon the RB (have the other two RB ships) so decided also on the ground that the prize in FreeXP still is 1 M to take Hayate instead. Will get the German fantasy later if nothing else shows up. -
Top ranked battle players sucking at random?
Gnirf replied to AlphaBaboon's topic in General Discussion
great table Fumtu but to be fair they are outliers. I am pretty sure there are some correspondence between Rank and "skill". However how strong it is is another matter. In random you have always same skilllevel of the pool but in rank it is different in various levels also in different parts in the season. But let us say that you play a random game 2 weeks into the season. Your team has 5 players with Rank 1,2,3,4,5 the enemy team have 10,11,12,13,14. Rest do not have ranke as they do not play that mode. Do not try to convince me that on average it does not matter. It is a indication IMO as well as any other, the more good indicators you have the more likely it indicates skill.
