well I play by the giveaways and missions which are most efficient , that is why I play both coop and randoms also if you play my huge battle counts it helps that you do not have to be concentrated, If I discuss latest football fgames or political events I can grind in coop without sound while I talk to the other with the phone on loudspeaker. Very practical, Yes it is more grind and likework but that is how I do it. I can not be focused enough for only randoms in a saturday or sunday when it can easily be up to 6-9 hours of play. But I am not talking about myself - there are several coop only players and their support of the game is important too, if a coop player or random player buys premium time and ships, their money should be rewerded regardless on how they choose to play the game

One thing that you do seem to forget is some flaws in comparing WR in randoms with ranked. First there are 7 instead of 12 so your impact to the team is greater. 2nd - there are different cadres of players and they approach the ranked vs random hopefully differently. If you have 14 55% players in radom palying at R2 they will still only get 50% and other way around if 45 % is the average number they will get 50% on average, so it is your skill vs the group that you play with at the time. Whilst in random you have the same pool of currently active players with say 48% average WR that you play with. First random is often grinding and collecting playing suboptimal builds and above all not taking out always the best ship and captain fully stocked with signals but grinding ships maybe with stock hulls low end captains etc. In rank players hopefully pick ships that are optimized for their play and that they do well in. How you approach random vs ranked vs this matters ofc. Have you chosen the best ship for you? Do you play on tilt? Personally I have never chosen to do a determined effort to rank out, I play a few games and reach around 10-12 or so with minimal effort, but i still try to chose teh best ship even if it is just for a few games. I will play a few more today, hopefully all good CVs have disappeared.

Wheteher the CVs are overpowered or not is one thing , problem is that players seem to think that removing CVs f.e. is the trick that makes the game good. I play some cruisers , open water cruisers, let us say that you are a new player in a Königsberg or similar you have a great chance of pretty often be killed or more or less reduced to such a low non-recovarable hp number that you are effectively out of the game. During my regrinds I have played mid tier BBs a lot the number of devstrikes in ships like Izmail on same tier cruisers are pretty high. Sofar I have regrinded only BBs and DDs (14 resets sofar). I am not that comfortable with regrinding cruisers, in fact my previous quite large cruiser % of game played the last year or so is very small apart from the new grinded lines (RN, Italian and new russian line) + a very few selected ships like Zao. Facing 5 BBs is not more fun than facing CVs IMO with many cruisers. Personally I hope the Cvs go for another target and/or hope that they are not too good, if they are well a new game starts soon. At T6 and above I do not feel that CVs are that frequent overall, but for a player that maybe plays only a few games a couple of times in week, a few disaåppointing CV games might stand out more. For me that maybe plays 15-25 hours/weekly during normal working weeks , I get another picture when the CV population evens out more. But at T3-4 the Cvs should be limited to 1. It takes a lot of hits to sink a BB bar detonation and if you nerf the damage potential their impacty will be too low for the average player imo.

Well I do think it is beneficial if you can do the snowfalkes in coop. I think it is better just play a game. 5-750 is to high for coop players esp at lower tiers but 750 you almost never reach even in high tiers. Why do you want to make it more difficult?

As a veteran collector the 30+ Scs will ofc be welcome together with the special flags. I will gather everything on principle always useful to spam camos when you regrind tiers in the RB phase. This is the event that really pays the veterans for their efforts The regrinds have finally made me to shrink the camo storage.

Well Worcester too! With Gimmicks it might be possible to fit in the Dutch cruisers from 1950 isch there, radar smoke and fast firing Bofors guns with 4 sec reload.
-
Well if we do a RN Battlecruiser split , I can think of two ways of giving it something extra with some resemblance to reality. The BCs were quite large tonnagewise with heavy guns but fewer, elite ships "The splendid cats" etc The thing with RN BCs is that they are quite fragile so that can be adressed with limited numbers of DCP say 4 and 2 Repair partys. And the gun thing with a modified version of the French reload booster, I am thinking of longer duration but less spike, the French have 50% for very short period, I am thinking 20-30 % depending on Tier and longer duration perhaps 1 minute or so. Not more than 2 if long maybe just 1 (2 with Superintendent). This might be a way of balancing ships maybe 1 tier higher than without these things. Just a thought.

[Poll] How many lines with "Tier X" have you reset for the "Research Bureau" thus far?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
On regrind 13 & 14 (IJN DD Harugumo line at T6 and Shimakaze at T7) Previous finished regrinds: IJN BB x3 (Now T6-10 w 19p captains) RU BB x 3 (Now T6-10 w 19 p captains) FR BB RN BB RN DD US BB IJN Shimaline IJN Harugumo line I reset 2 or 3 lines at the same time.I have played through the lines , early I skipped stock grinds now I grind them as well, as the latest FreeXP ships have bled me dry (5 M for Småland, Hayate and Ägir) and lots of ships WIP that we do not now what they will be. Naturally generous use of good camos and special flags on the higher tiers especially, to get most out of them. I try to fit resets with the 2X periods. Credits is of no concern. -
The life and death of a bad player - A field study proposal
Gnirf replied to HMS_Kilinowski's topic in General Discussion
I will say no. Why? Simply because a player who deliberately do all this things are not a bad player it is a sabotaging player. Some of these are natural not to use as a beginner, signals and camo and good captains. it takes a while to get these even if you want to. But the main thing , because I assume we disregard bots here is that I think many of the bad players they do not care that much at all i.e. they do not avoid objectivess , they just do not care about them and how do you simulate that. Oh I am nearly killing that ship let us shift target. As you normally I hope play to the best of your ability your feelings can never be the same as for one who does not care at all or have other priorities. They might have fun in what they are doing. You do not. That is the difference and why your experiment is uninteresting. You can not replicate that player as you set up restrictions that you follow whilst the bad player does not think that I should not do. I would say it would be another thing if you made a experiment to play Bismarck full secondary build in 50 games and then followed it up with a tank build in 50 games, both playing as the best you could. -
Hello there, [H_FAN] is a economic clan. Atm we do not do clan wars, we are simply too few for that, if we get some numbers that are interested we are some that may be interested, but right now it is a economic clan with members from various countries. You are welcome as a new player also, just that you play regular so you contribute to our oil. and building of our base. We are at the moment proiritizing our steel port to reach highest level (reached in a few days)and after that the coal port. Our base :Steel port 2 out of 3 expansions, Coal port 2 out of 3, Dry dock 4 out of 6, Shipbuilding yard 5 out of 6, War college 4 out of 6, Design bureau 4 out of 6, Academy 5 out of 5. Just contact me or @Lt_Cdr if you want to know more.I play nmost days so just send a message for a invite or apply to us.

The snowflakes events can get you some decent steel figures if you got good supply of the relevant high tier ships, however the numbers the second year were significantly less, the only reason that I got a decent amount were that I had more ships that produced snowflakes for steel. If i rember correctly it was 75 steel for T8 and T9 last time so if you got 50 ships in that category it might be a decent amount. Provided that they do similar events in the future. On the other hand the ships are so inflated in steelprize so it takes a lot of time anyway.

Yes, i fully understand that thing. It would be fun but WG will of course never release it to see the spending patterms. I do think personally that of the players that get a little bit serious and plays at least most days for, premium time is pretty common, + a ship from time to time. Many F2P or nearly F2 P numberwise ofc but many of these plays little or drop out. There is ofc also a few that spends very much on crates, ships etc but probably only a few % of the players. There are a lot of players that are very interested in ships and if your personal favourites on ships is premium only, the willingness to spend some are pretty high. I have a decent count of what I spend and I allow myself a certain amount of money/hour spent. It is a reasonable sum of entertainment, especially now in Covid times when there is little else to spend on, can not even watch sports or concerts live although I pay for some TV-channels to watch my teams in the TV. Strange without supporters.. That has increased the amount somewhat this year.

You just change the flag, I have Swedish flag on the ships

Random Containers. Opening All At Once Vs 1 At A Time
Gnirf replied to Sir_Sinksalot's topic in General Discussion
Well I use to take them individually rather than one by one if there are not too many or that I do notexpect anything. But I have my diary book in wows and its easier to do them 1 by 1. Containers at the end of the day I always do 1 by 1, likewise christmas containers and so, and i always open dailies at the end of the day/session, never save them for mass openings. -
Yes she is worth it. What is 3500 doubloons? It is a beer or two at the bar. You get some fun in this. But it depends on what you got earlier and how strong your economy is. If you spending a lot of the game already I think so. How do you value her over time in snowflakes events and similar. If you are a coop player I think that most ships works. I have got all the 3 ships now. Odin which i only have played in Coop, quite nice with a Biz sec captain. I recieved both Siegfried and Ägir the last couple of days, have not tried them yet. I am not that fond of the sec. playstyle in randoms but in coop I gladly play them.

Thx still working

And when you do hit you get overpenetration....Meanwhile Yubari have laser guns (best in game together with Katori, (maybe Iwaki have that module too)

Good ships you have horrid stats/performance in, and what you're doing wrong
Gnirf replied to loppantorkel's topic in General Discussion
Personally I feel that the HE spamming ships are difficult to save bad teams in although you can often get decent results yourself damage wise. here are a few other factors that may give some ships arelatively /good or bad performance (not personally directed to you but for all): _ Early in career - not touched since - Captain build ships, i.e. some mid tier/semi high say 5-8 you may want to keep and use as a captain trainer. When you move your captain upwards you may start again but then you are back to square 1. The CE skill etc makes a lot if you in all games relative mean for the ship say it is a 10 p captain, how do rate a moved 14 p captain to a new 3p? If 10 p is 100 maybe 14 is 105-110 and 3 85-90? A DD without CE on higher tiers probably more. BB with CE and FP vs none? Yes, if you have eliteXp there is no problem, but if you have endured coop once for building up to 10 you may not want to do it again. So how have you used Bayard- Are your captain strong or new (relatively speaking). I avoid f.e. playing high tier premiums say 9 or 10 in random with low end captains absolutely not under 10. That is one of the reasons I have permacamo on my T10s silver ships too , to be able to build captains in coop to a degree. Yes I have played supermany games but I have a captain for each ship and keep all so I never build up much of a elite XP storage. Solo or div. play Too few games, I would say 50 is minimum, even ofc that you can see if you do very poorly or good earlier. If I look at some of my stats they are horrible in some ships compared to how they are in reality, ignoring CVs ofc as I do not play them seriously and hardly at all in randoms. -
The special flags can be 25/50/100
-
This can not go on like that .... WG please do something
Gnirf replied to Oncle_Fetide's topic in General Discussion
So what is the purpose of bringing up stats? Do you think that a leader (if you f.e. see that you are best) should degrade their team even before start? Do you think that A/ It betters their performance or B/ Worsen their performance Many does not even know they are bad as they do not follow their stats at all or very rarely. I have never used XVM tools and I will always do my best. It is psycholgically detrimental and if you use them for your own benefits focus a strong player etc.. Maybe just say in chat, beware of the xxx that is a good player so take him out if you have the chance. I recommend you to not give up the game beforehand in chat. -
If you got no credit problem do not forget that last christmas snowflakes the T10 only gave a small Christmas box, it was the T8 and T9s that gave steel. So I find no reason to not keep T8 and 9s if not only for that reason even for noncollector players if you have the credits. BTW T5-7 gave coal last year. Slots you get in abundance nowadays, so save ships wisely. , including Kagero/yugumo. Yes they are mediocre but at least it is the classical torpedo destroyer. As a collector I keep all , and understand that all is not like me however to have millions of credits ( looking at your battle count) and lose steel opportunities I will not recommend, but you do ofc as you please.

I would like to add that you can buy some commanders in the armory. One thing is that it might be wise when you get your first 19 p capatains and start accumulating XP it is often best to leave a captain on a midtier ship in the line say T6 or T7 that you like and start a new one thereafter with 10 p on say lets 7 and get those points buy using elite xp, over a certain point say12 or so even though you retrain with elite XP it is starting to get expensive to move. It depends om how much F2P you are on what is the right strategy. If you can endure coop the stoch grinds on higher tiers can be used to train a captain pretty far if you are low or without elite XP. Do not forget special events like space battles, Halloween etc when you play with "special" 19 p captains they give you elite XP as well.

Personally I use coop a lot for the missions, and ithe content of teams varies a lot, if the games are over in 5 just start a new. One problem to your interesting solution which btw are being in consideration (asymetric battles) is A/ Sometimes there are few humans so asymetric battles could then be hopeless. B/Coop are constructed for newbies, that we oldies are farming missions in coop is a bit of self inflict. Now are the missions so far in so I doubt that the various demands in missions plays that major role. But DDs are often ideal for fast coop damage. I find the ocean kiting cruisres more difficult than BBs as the bots tends to focus you. And Cvs in coop are not fun at all as you have to press home the attacks right away, scouting is more or less pointless and you have not time enough for damage over time. You can not wait until the AA are softened up like you can in random.

I am sure that the napkin cruiser Stalinsk exists with a similar apperance and 12 km radar or a modernized version of the torp battleship mentioned in McLaughlins book of Soviet and Russian battleships.
