2017 New Years camouflage without standard gameplay bonuses?
Gnirf replied to Aotearas's topic in General Discussion
Probably why there are so plenty (100) in the small gift boxes. 75 Papa Papas in the small ones also. In 10 small I got 2x100 of that camo and 2x75 Papa Papa. -
Total 24 Bought 9 Large Lo Yang, Anshan, Nikolai + camos, Doubloons 5 Medium Flags, Camos Doubloons 10 small, flags , camos , Doubloons Overall happy and it is fun! have over 20 premiums Before so it seems that influences your chances of getting Nikolai
-
Yes in the Science missions I have 11 left (rest is mostly carrier related). In the honorary I did around 3-4 per stage, the damage on specific country always, win and top Three XP etc, Modules (but not 100 Sec battery takes too long), must be wrongly set up as they are far more demanding than the other modules. Several was repeated, and cancelled those on the particular level when the pin number was reached The final stage waqs easiest. So I will mop up later those that are playable. Like witherer and such, they can be perma selected just in case. But I have started my mopping process in the Scince mission. Maybe one has to abandon them during the Graf mission.

Commander, Captain and Admiral Presents...[merged threads]
Gnirf replied to Blood_Vessel's topic in General Discussion
Addictive Yes: Update 5 Large boxes more today: 1. Ocean Soulx40 2. Restless Fire x40 Buääähhh 3. LoYang +10 P cpt (own tree) Hmm 4. Nikolai I +10 cpt Aaahhhhh 5 Ocean Soulx40 again Lightly taken Seems that the system feels what premiums you have so it is perhaps smart not to buy too many boxes at the same time.. Of 9 Admirals I have 3 ships. Anshan. lo Yang, Nikolai, 5 Mediums and 10 small No ships. As I have around 20 Premiums before the event it may as others earlier described indicate that even if some has indicated otherwise that it is programmed as not duplicate ships you have. If you are stacked with premiums the shipchances are maybe not unreasonable for Grem/Nikolai but if you have only a few premiums far smaller. Wonder how the Company has stacked them: Nikolai T4 Chances? Tirpitz t8 Chances? Grem T5? What many of us dream of (Grem/Nik) are myth and rarity but they are less valuable to the Company than a Tirpitz sale as a T8 ship. Hope others will post their findings. Small boxes in my mind perhaps better in the non-ship draw with 100 Zulu Hotel in 3 of the 10 small boxes that I have bought. These flags are useful. 100 Equal Speed Charle London were in one of the mediums. Well perhaps these are better but I value the captain XP higher than 1 vs 3, as a collector and building captains from scratch I have really need for them. Now with Nikolai finally in port I am superhappy, will I take boxes for Grem? Maybe a few more. But Grem has not the same appeal for me. -
In Tin Can the presents counts also (got it today)

Tin Can Note that Opening 17 containers Tin Can works fine with the presents, bought a lot of them today 4x5, 5x3, 10x1 and reached 17.

A few stupid questions: A: When you bought them to yourself do you recieve them in the client roughly as the containerboxes? And open them in same manner? Your photos indicates that B: For you who is buying several , do you buy 1 at a time or several each purchase? -
A little bit of Warspite's history you may not know
Gnirf replied to MADMAN983's topic in Battleships
Yes I have seen that given as a reason, Warspite was also in rather bad condition after bombdamage. But they had at least a better chance with King Georg V or Duke of York which had participated in famous actions with sunken German Battleships as a result. In the late 1950s the economy was far better , so there is far less excuse, even Belfast was difficult to save as the last active gun cruiser if I remember correctly. Were there any serious discussions about them? I have been onboard Belfast, but a battleship would have been great. In the US I think that they have too many battleships of similar type, better that they have preserved CV-6 Enterprise IMO, given her role in the Pacific. -
I agree with the issue of the offers in the different regions. But I also see the value regardless, that commanders kills you should not just pay to achieve but to aquire them by playing with good performance (confederate).
-
Zulu Hotel is the most important, as I start every captain from scratch (keeping all ships as collector) so every new ship is gifted with Zulus until around 10 cpt Points. Therefor these flags which are not included in the flag packs are extra important, play a lot of Bogatyr/Chikuma to get those confederate. To OP: I can on the other hand be quite glad that the flags are for performance in the game and not so easily bought. Meaning that you must play to get a good captain not P2W. Regardless of being offered on other servers.

If you have less than 1000 games you maybe should try to enhance your captains. But are you a collector that plays all tiers and ship types/trees? Play the game for fun. Focus on certain ships will improve your stats, if that is what is important. Early in the game I played much IJN much in lower tiers then I focused on grinding most lines except CVs, then I focused on training captains for most ships , because I keep my ships therefor I realized that I needed to train them up more, then lately my grinding has become slower, not so found of the meta in T8-10 but as there are ships that I want I have continuedthe grinding in a relaxed pace. But I have focused more on destroyers lately, improving my game there. But realize also whatever your stats are, the distribution of skills in terms of winrate in this kind of game. Do you improve better than the average player in the Active playerbase, only 2-3 % has a better than 60% solowinrate. Concentration in a shiptype is mandatory if you will reach higher I Think if you are not belonging to unicum type. The stats will vary a lot between different dips/types, focus on those that you like and seems to to best in. It is a question what is your goal with the game. I have 100 + ships as I am interested in warships, I enjoy the early WW1 ships in tier 2-3 (4) , many players dislike them and sees the game otherwise.

WG are you mad with that Detonations crap?
Gnirf replied to _interceptor_80's topic in General Discussion
That the DDs are prone to detonation with at least some regularity can be seen as a compensation that they lack citadel. For a Battleship/cruisers that is trying to kill a DD it should not be a monsteramount of hits compared with a cruisers, so instead of giving the DDs a citadel it is not unreasonable that with a large part of the ship with sensitive stuff unshielded they must have some mechanic that mirrors that. Otherwise they be too strong. A cruiser you can delete with a few sakvos in a battleship, a DD can not be too strong (all overpens etc). -
Well you have not the optimum ships perhaps, you miss Ishizuchi as BB, but among cruisers I find ships like Budyonny and Kuma usable, but then of course preferable with DE captains. Higher up Chapyev is good for BBQ. Do not like Clevelands arcs. My first Witherer came with her, I know that is not Arsonist but the requirements for the ship HE capacity w at least 60000 in firedmg is the same. Arsonist like Dreadnought, Liquidator on Science of victory and Witherer on the Hon Service Campaign suits certain ships where HE is natural but you can not plan fort them. I generally take these tasks last. I repeated the simpliest more generic tasks for the pins in the Hon Service and now I am mopping up the others, starting in the Science Campaign where I have 11 left. Edit. Well I see that I have 72 in 7300+ games but that is to a large extent that I have several ships suited for BBQ. You must concentrate your efforts on BBs, as the regenerating capabilty of Battleships in their heals make it easier to reach the 40% base requirements for Arsonist. Smaller ships tends to be sunk too soo, the Arsonist seldom comse with a dedicated effort on focus fire bur setting fire - they using their repair and then after the short immunity period set preferably 2 fires and then shift target if others are nearby, it is too risky if you have more targets nearby to try to hit the other sections unless you are very close or with a ship that has high rpm. My Dresden in Tier2 is useless for task but with shotgun 7% firechance with DE against T3 Battleships are very effective.

Yes and no mention of Graf Spee.... but maybe it will come up separately.

What do my stats tell you - how to improve(constructive ideas please :)
Gnirf replied to Naatibus's topic in General Discussion
First I only discuss your soloplay performance, I do not play division myself so I will not adress that matter. Second, what is your goal win rate, climb fastest to the high tiers? I have not much better winrate than you (55%) and I play to have fun, and different ships in all tiers, over 100 ships and 7300+ games. I am happy with that but I know that in some ships that I like and have build up the cpt skill level on it is possible to rise over 60%. But you have few games in many ships. Do you move captains or start them from scratch? I start them from scratch and more or less with just a few exceptions also grind the ships. Therefor I may say that if you do like I you have too few games in many ships to have unleashed their potential. And do you switch much between ships? I had poor statistics in DDs but I started since roughly a mont a more serious take on DDs which have inproved my play. Grinded the IJN line to Fubuki before the split in and are now on T9/T7. That means that one gets familiarity with the ship and also its opponents. So until you have elaboreted a little more it is a little difficult, some ships you seem to enjoy a lot. Kuma Isokaze well 67% soloplay is extremely impressive, unicum level. But relatively few games, but do not expect to better these rather the opposite. Be aware that from mid tiers and up it is important not to rush too fast, the game meta changes and the importance of captains skills increases. So finally use stats, but do not just think of stat figures but what is lying behind. You can not compare a stock Nagato f.e. with fully upgraded ships with say a 14 Point captain. As I am interested in warship history I play lower tiers on occasion still f.e. Wyoming and Bogatyr, of course I do better results in them now. Also be aware that the distribution of win rate figures. You have too few games in most ships so it will be more an overall impression. Only 2-3 % of players are above 60%, and many of these specialize themselves There are lots of Youtube instructions and gameguides forum advices and combine them with practice. See which ships that suits your playstyle. Remember that ships shall be judged upgraded and with good captains. F.e. in the Russian cruisers the DE skill is quite important as a lot of your potential is harassing enemys with fires. My only two Witherers have been in Chapayev after DE skill. -
North Carolina. End of the USN BB grinding line for me.
Gnirf replied to ThinderChief's topic in Battleships
Yes but you have speed to redeploy and outrun many ships. There are other qualities besides the pure ship vs ship role that you must take into account. If you do not choose to use them it is your problem to be frank, I agree with much of your ship vs ship reasoning but progression may lay elsewhere, besides Montana in tier 10 gives you 12x16. And I wish to add I enjoy NC more than Iowa too but sometimes the speed is very useful on the larger maps and when chasing cruisers. Edit: The Ship strenght corresponding to its tier is always an issue I am going to grind slowly for Montana but it will take very long time. -
Wargaming, please remove the premium matchmaking for T3 and T4
Gnirf replied to kfa's topic in General Discussion
But if you compare NY/Kongo with 18-20 km range with Kawachi/South Carolina /Nassau w 9.8-11 km and 18-21 kts the later will not be able to fire. Several of the cruisers in T3 are also very slow 22-24 kts f.e. for St Louis /Bogatyr. At least in T5 you have fragile but very speedy cruisers, with rather rapid fire guns which make them decent against DDs. Now I am talking about ships to fight except the mirror ship in other team. So while I can accept the arguments of various posts of T5 is in an unfortunate position, I would say that if it has to be drawn somewhere it is at least not in a lower Tier. Of course the ships that you name are at an disadvantage, but I will not say that it is here the largest disparity is. If you play a New Orleans with 35400 hp against Des Moines w around 50000 w 3-4 heals (SE,Prem) you are in a far worse situation in my mind. I would think in 100 games you would have at least some victories in Omaha or better MurmanskIKönigsberg against f.e. Yorck but barely any in NO against Des Moines (equal skill of course). Please accept that I have answered several posts, so I use your post as a suitable quote for practical reasons. If you fire against Nagato/Colorado w 18-20 km range you can at least hurt them and with Kongo flee. Besides the lower tiers sees a lot of CVs and it is important that these T3 ships are not faced by them too often. -

Bis and Tirpitz yes, but it will be rectified soon enough with Royal Navy and French Navys Battleships. -
Matchmaking and/or players are absolutely terrible lately!
Gnirf replied to FaceFisted's topic in General Discussion
To OP: If all players were exceptional you would have had far less chance to influence outcome. Some ships in the table you have better stats in. Have you ever looked at the distribution of win rates from a statistical point of view? Look at how large a percentage of players in a given ship soloplay who has over 60%. It is a very small amount perhaps 2-3 % max. In a 12 player match it is a limit on how much a single player can influence realistically, BBs are probably more restricted than DD/CVs I remember one veteran player wrote in another thread That your stats go up and down is not unusual Like other posts say, MM is not shipsituational, it is a computer programming, which you must know has not programmed if you OP has that ship MM will favour other team but on this ship not. In which football match do you think Ronaldo have the greatest impact? A:Team 1 1 Ronaldo, 10 average players vs 11 average players B: Team 1 11 Ronaldo vs 11 Ronaldo So assume your chances to influence the battle will increase if the general standard of players go down, but there will be more ups and downs, if you would meet your own level all the time it will be 50% by default. No offence, but it is strange on how simple math facts are hidden from your reasoning (and others on similar theme) ? You are not in statistics I presume? I hated it but I do remember a little. -
Well you have a point that I have tried to Think about in a similar manner. As the Russian ships are DDs and cruisers I play Chapayev myself to counter these, with this ship I can be a threat to both the DDs and Cruisers. As I also play the Campaign she works for solving the incapacitate modules, Engines on DDs f.e. ok also and burning BBs which helps the damage tasks. The RU DDs I do not have higher up, Donskoi is too large and slowfiring, poor stealth so I find her less useful, even though she is fast. I am on 15 ships now so it feels like there is a chance, but I agree to all that the mission is way off as the NA have it so simple. It is only with a 4-5 hours of play that I may land a ship on average/day.

dIFFICULT TO FIT? Yes maybe but as a T3 Cruiser w 10 km range and 24 kts or something I would say she fit, the 8.2 inch guns are 12 so the sec. problem of early ships does not apply, and her slow reload say 3-3,5 rounds per minute whatever you have to adjust it to to not make it too OP.
