  1. G3Virus advice is spot on. You must spend money/time to get credits and freeXP. What is most valuable for you , your money or your time. I started pay for the premium as it makes my credits healthy as I do want the higher tier play. Think of you do not like the Missori, there are several fun mid tier ships that will together with premium help you both with credits and collecting freexp. The 750 FreeXP in TYL has for me occured 42 out of 305 times so that is quite a lot. But it is months of play.
  2. On of my favourite ships is the New Mexico. With the help of my premiums Texas and Arizona + now and then some flags I have finally reached the 19 p today on 13 th of June. This is a keeper and will not be moved. For my higher tier ships I have other captains and from T8 I have CE on my US captains. I have found this build synchronize well with Az Texas NM but I am sure there are several other suggestions of an optimum build. I use several lvl 2 or 3 skills and only1 lvl 4 as I found the manual AA not so suited for me and CE is not so valuable at T6 IMO. Vigilance I skip, I am seldom totally surprised and NM is short and rather agile. It would also have been more difficult to use my other skills which is something of a AA/Survivabilty build. My build is this: Lvl 1. PM Lvl 2.HA,JOAT, EM,AR Lvl 3 BFT, SI Lvl 4 AFT How do my fellow captains drive their NM?
  3. Yes exactly, the speed is catastrophic, If you are uptiered to T8 it is just support with the others and doing your best with as much damage as possible, thats why I take CE first on NC, reasoning the same as you. It is the gunhandlng I love the most those 4x3. I have never loved Fuso the same way, despite its better speed. It is also why I bought Arizona, despite having Texas before, I would probably not have done the other way around but I had Texas before Az were introduced. I suddenly start to enjoy Texas more as I just recently got my first clear sky. Colorado I seldom play, New York? not with Texas. Wyoming I also like very much.

    Tier progression

  5. Probably a good build also, I have flags also so I get even lower. But I reason like this, I very seldom have more than two fires. With reload on repair party also low, and fire light damage combined with 20% extra of repairflag one more or less run out of repairable damage often. But it gives several fully ok builds. I might try FP if they sometime comes with a cheap reset period. I have FP on zero ships, perhaps I shoud rethink here on some ships. Several low tier ships which probably has most use of it does not have high point captains enough however. But it is always a tradeoff.

    Tier progression

I agree a lot with Favuz, It should be rather easy to get up to T5 or 6 it takes quite a time for a newbie who by the way perhaps spends a lot of time in coop, no flags, camos no freeXP. One thing also that I agree with is that higher tier grind is huge, if I did not have prem camos , ESCL flags using first win etc it would take forever. many players (the mass) do not have time to spend several hours each day, the game has become rather large with many tech trees , I started soon after the game went public in the two existing trees, starting now is a huge process. For many of us that has played a lot , grinding a new line is not too hard, you fix it even without FreeXP much, but for newcomers that want to play a lot of ships, both credits and XP are very tough above T6/7. Sure it is lots of threads that bashes newcomers but with so many trees the grind can not be absurdly, you have so many interesting trees/lines today.
  7. As I hardly plays CVs the achievement Clear Sky so far has eluded me but thanks to being focused attacked by CVs in my Texas (what a surprise!) repeatedetly (I was closing in on them without knowing it) it finally after 11000+ games was my turn. Overall a good game w 97 K dmg but it is the achievement that I am happy with. usually when I take out Texas (it is not to often after I bought Arizona) the Cvs avoids me.This is a good example of why.

How many ships do you play?

Port: 161 ships Grind: T9 Udaloi, Donskoi, FdG, Fletcher (waiting for sale on upgrades as I am ready with Roon, Ibuki and Iowa T8 Martel T7 Maas Rest at T10 apart from Cvs that I do not play Enjoy play/: Chikuma, Bogatyr, K Albert Nassau, Bogatyr Isokaze, Ishizuchi, Wyoming, Svetlana Yubari ,D-T, Nikolai, Kamikaze R König, Budyonny, NM , Anshan, Shino, Fubuki, Arizona, Belfast , Fiji, Blys, Shira, Aki, DM, Shima, Yama, Sims. Biz, Tirpitz, Chapayev, (Most of these are played at least 1 per 14 days some almost every day) Most other ships I take out infrequently. Then maybe a few games and then it sit still for several weeks/months I have some hate ships that I never played after grind. But I might take out Emerald to see if I hate her as much now as when I grinded her after all now I have learn to at least play the RN cruisers somewhat at T9. Missions can make play a lot of Midtier that are suited

  10. It takes ages so why not plan in advance. Something the Free Xp should be used for. I recommend you to grind the US BBs up to Iowa. Do not buy Missouri until you feel you like her as FreeXP is a very valuable.

From Reddit: British BBs at last!

KGV is 14 inch with its defining layout, paper adjustments is for T9-10. First its armour is strong, second reload and sigma can easily be adjusted, also heal. which means it can be fairly durable but less alpha strike capable.

    British battleships incoming

Very true: Navarin (Borodino) was launched 4 ships and at least Borodino was figuring in plans after WW1 to complete even rearming with 8-16 rather than 12-14. Had WNT been concluded earlier they might have done it as Borodino class might have been rather good compared with the Fuso/Yamashiro and Warspite f.e. they were at whole another level than the Ganguts that remained. Both Kronshtadt and Sovetsky Soyus were laid down and progressed at least further than just laid down 10-20%.on some ships. Stalingrad (BC) were launched. Paperdesigns of interesting configs are multiple several very ambitious are described in McLaughlins book.

How many 19 points captains do you have?

Yes still only 1 in Chikuma T2. (use it also in Yubari) Soon one more in New Mexico (Az/Texas) 50000 to go. Missouri shares Seagel w Iowa but is only at 15. I do not like that ship much, but are another config than NM. My primary concern is to lift captains to at least 10 then 14-15 (2nd 4th level skill if that is crucial). It is such a huge investment and I play too many ships (161 ships at the moment in port). Yamma and Bogatyr is on 17. Like you stated in the OP Elite XP is a great invention. It has made me start to move captains, I play usually 1 game with Chikuma every day and I have put dragonflags on Arizona and Yamato to help them up. Shimas captain gets help from Restless fire. DM and Yamma has prem camos and I play them a lot when it suits me but I play rather T6 (NM Az) so therefor I prioritize that captain hard. I grind ships rather than captains and usually the Zulu Flags is there to speed up the progress to 10 points, as I keep all ships I need many flags. That is also a reason to play the formidable Zulu Hotel ships Bogatyr Chikuma and Ishizuchi. I have a large number between 10 and 15. If I grind captains now it is for having a few more RN and French 10 pointers for Battleships. Not so much for grinding up to 19 for one.

I suppose that even so it must be repairable light damage (fire, flooding) so if they seem extremely hard to burn down they can not heal heavy citadel/torp damage that good so I suppose it will be very theoretical absurdly good but depending on how the damage is applied less so in practice. But they might need it , the health pool on higher tiers are low and somehow you must compensate for it, interesting to see if the heal survives.

    Non radar cruisers in cyclones

As the other says stay with your group is a safe bet but it is not always possible. Do you play in a ship that has good torps you might try to find ways to position yourself that at least make the BB pay for killing you, note here that IJN cruisers has poor arcs if you are not fleeing. What is the overall situation? When the countdown for cyclone starts can you stay with the group ur do your team need to do something. Can you use the cover of cyclon to move. Are the teams thinned out. Many times you can not stay, you have to take risks as the points, ship or cap situation does not allow defensive play , sometimes it is better to defend. Are there lots of radar ships cvs or else still in game. Dds that can scout for you or the enemy. Where are the enemys? Are they fast Iowas, deadly Yamatos or strong deadly but slow Colorados, can you move so that once you are detected you can disengage if not with ease, so at least so you are not trapped. I can not say that I always practice what i write down , but sometimes you do need to take risks as it is clear that the enemy must be whittled down during cyclon, see also if you can follow the enemy and friendly ships if they seem to go somewhere when the range shrinks, Must enemy go somewhere? Do you need to help or do you have to challenge a cap. Many games have turned around because of passivity in cyclon others have been thrown away because the team in lead take unnecessary risks. I am not sure that I like cyclons, I can say it is challenging even almost fun to have one when it takes long sessions between them - but at least I find it interesting to discuss. I want more input from other players as it is interesting to know how other people tackle it. Especially regarding which ship you have. Neptune can smoke up but has no radar (in my config) but some other cruisers do. US have no torps. French only 3/side. But it is also very different if you have the cyclon in standard or domination.

Invincible was first so that IMO should be T3 Lion could be T4 in a WW1 config (like Ishizuchi) Tiger modernized T5 sure T6 Renown completely agree as she was modernized a lot.
  17. If the Missouri cost 750 K T10 might be the round figure of a 1 000 K so play on......

    De Grasse in premium shop

Regardless of MM I play both Arizona, New Mexico, Budyonny, Dunkerque, Warspite and Shinomone/Fubuki a lot and while it does not bring in enormous cash amounts the costs of driving a T6 ensures a steady flow, granted several here are Premiums but so are De Grasse, just pondering on how much I need the doubloons/Flags. There are plenty of new Premiums and that some doubloon offer might be considered but we have the Kaga and soon Gallant too so some I can buy naked. Kaga I am very unsure of, she seems OP that I am afraid that she might be difficult to reach in the future and I suck at CVs but OTOH I can play her in Coop , and the CV might be more interesting in the future are at T5/6 now in CVs (T9-T10 in most others).. That you buy a ship that you are not ready for does not mean you have to play her now in randoms but you buy her so you are not without her in the future. But they have kept Belfast so she might be around. I am also a collector 150+ and buy most intresting premiums, besides I want a midtier ship for every line that I use.
  19. If I count in missions like the campaigns for Shinomone and Graf Spee sort of a grind as well, I hope for some odd mid tier/low tier ships f.e. Invincible T3 squishy RN battlecruiser, Dutch De Ruyter at T5 and odd perhaps sometimes not ships that may be massively good and therefor vety good in long term campaigns. Naturally German BCs also the list is endless why not Lexington BC 10-14 35 kts paperarmour 7 funnels! It is easy to dream - but my point is free ships does not need to be high tier - interesting/odd ships are just as fun..

    British battleships incoming

Sorry for Quote again but I can not resist point out LION and TEMERAIRE the two ships that were laid down in 4 th of July 1939 (Lion) 1st of June 1939 (Temeraire) are in the picture in line G. It inspired me to take out the coopies No 19 and 20 of the Warship magazine which includes the article by John Roberts about the Lion class and design developments prewar, during war etc. Highly recommended if you have it /can find it. They are from year 1981 before it became an annual book which are still coming out.

Premium T20 then. To be given in a Habbakuk campaign to all that win a battle in a T4 carrier.

    Ammunition limits

Finally someone who understands what the game mechanics are in all those whining threads. You would command a division and cycle through the ships or give them order to follow, then they will attack the BB with a salvo from 8-12 ships with say (Shimakaze 15) 120-180 torps - Survive that BB! + Reload in your ship. Beside your damaged Battleship if you somehow managed to survive will after 5 -10 torp hits creep forward in 5 kts with damaged and unreparable steering. Good luck. If we talk by broken mechanics it is the fact that massive damage does not impair ship speed or seldom gunnery apart from AA/sec modules, turrets are quite rarely destroyed compared to acrual combat. F.e. at Jutland the famous indestructible German BCs had in many cases their turrets destroyed, with their crews naturally wiped out , Derfflinger f.e. Bismarck, Kirishima in WW2. Instead we have Adrenaline Rush. Sure that Seydlitz at the Dogger Bank ordered rapid fire when the near-catastrophic hit on the aft turret occured as the officer in charge thought quite logical that his hsip was doomed when he obesrved the flames.
  23. I see a lot of games with 0-2 DDs per side, but also sometimes 4 or so but thats more far between. I may have noticed a slight increase in CVs lately - but that is just a feeling. Playing all tiers from 2-10. Double CVs in midtiier feels like that is more often now. It would have been interesting but hard to get from other source f.e. the distribution of CVs /tier i.e. T4 0 =X% 1 X% 2 X% and see the trends in otder to spec your captains correctly. Likewise DDs CAs etc. Not just the accumulated 45 % BBs etc

    British BB 3-6 tier

Yes but I think that they like the German BBs may want to give place for an alternate BC line. Rhe playstyle will also be more uniform. Remember also that the several British BCs were very squishy armour wise especially as originally built. I want them too but it is easy to fill a alternate line. Hyped is a understateme- Dreadnought must be reserved as a premium - as Vanhal stated previously. I hope for Vanguard -7 turrets yes thank you Furious T4 CVB= 1 18 inch gun yes Haha + aircraft = unplayable probably but fun maybe RPM 1 18 inch /30 s reload.
