Arizona OP in 7v7 ranked :)

So far only tried Arizona, Shinonome and Fubuki. I do not use FP. With so many BBs in many games it is not worth it though it may be different down the ranks. My goal is just the rewards do not care to grind. Reached on friday rank 12 and that is enough for me though I may play some more to see if I could get some camos after all Cpt elite xp i always nice.

new and more light cruisers, please.

Naturally but it will be an increase of light /heavy cruisers in general. Sweden f.e. had plans for 8-21 cm cruisers + the Ansaldo design with 6-28cm to counter Graf Spee/Hipper and the last one could be made high tier material. At least up to t8. To stem the rising numbers of BBs the release of cruisers for minor nations (better a Pan-Europen tree) is a easy remedy. Dutch players will play De Ruyter and Eendracht and Swedes will play Göta Lejon + the design studies a lot, for sheer patriotism , I will do it a lot, if they reach a decent level.

new and more light cruisers, please.

But you have many Minor nations which have suitable ships which will make the cruisers increase quite a lot. Netherlands, Sweden, Spain some South American nations and these are original designs.

yes you need to spam the AP on superstructures from smoke/cover or else it is difficult, but they would be massively OP with HE too.

Buy a premium is one thing - use her is different things. Besides I think that it is not wrong to test the ship now and then sort of to dip the toes. How else do you know what the META is and what you must be better at. Some players manage high tiers quicker than others. It depends a little what tier you are in. While I do think that the best approach is to advance slowly and broadly it is no point either to wait excessingly long. If you are at T6 I think that T7 is rather Ok, especially if you have advanced across the board and not on a few single lines.

    Atago or Atlanta? Serious question

But how is Atlanta to play with a mid level captain and do you have a different set up than other US Cruisers? I mean I do not use IFHE on T7-10. Do you use Cleveland/Omaha/Phoenix cpts then? No one of mine in T4-6 are above 10 pts.

    HMS Belfast On Offer

yes true bought Saipan yesterday which I did not have and after the posts here and in other threads I followed your and others example just now and bought the Belfast which I had already since release. By the way you get a port slot also (300 doubloons standard prize), I need those for forthcoming RN BBs.

As the sale cover t6-8 ships I would not be surprised if they came as one of the daily offers

    HMS Belfast On Offer

Well I had the same experience which my stats suffers from, that is I did not in the beginning understand on how to play with smoke correctly, I more or less used her as an anti DD only , just taking advantage of half of the things that made her "OP" the radar and stealth fire. The use of her smoke in offensive gunnery I did not learn in a acceptable way until I reached Neptune!. (As I played Edinburgh w radar). So when I have returned to play Fiji and Belfast in the recent weeks the results have been far better, some games have been compared with my average stats really great but it will take ages to rectify. Emerald I do not care about , but I will probably return to both Leander and Fiji a lot. I am not surprised that you perform better in Fiji, personally after the removal of stealth fire, I think the heals, torps and better AP is good compensation for Belfast HE and radar. If there is low numbers of DDs I prefer Fiji. Nevertheless Belfast is a good captaintrainer and creditmaker and she is different in a positive way from the techtree. DeGrasse in the French tree is just a buffed La Gal but same rather boring HE spamming style. And if you by time contstraints and other priorities do not play RN now or near future she can get you a new and diverse playstyle and should you plan to play RN later you can fix some 10-pointers with relative ease and with enjoyment. So for me I recommend her.

For that prize it is just a question do I want the ship or not. It is unlikely to get much cheaper if it is not part of a huge bundle or if you recieve it by lottery (supercontainer, Santas gift or similar).

    Summer sales

Well 1 prem camo in T10 is 5000 and T6/7 1000 resp 2000. I have bought a few perma camos in mid tiers as I like to play those tier most and they can help grind captains for them if you think it is a ship that you like. T10 is for obvious reasons. Besides the doubloon discounts on premium time and mid tier ships may be 30%. So depending on who you are 10-20000 might be OK, I have bought 6 months premium on discount with personal offers with doubloons when you are logged in the game. You seem to get suitable offers when you have many doubloons now and then.

    Summer sales

But if you get doubloons relatively cheap you can buy camos and stuff that are not on discount. Then you do not need to buy ships+doubloons you are not so found of. Sort of indirect discount. I always try to buy bundles to get doubloons cheaper, up to a level that I think I could use in the near future. So this might be a way. It would have been nice to know which ships, some I might consider in the future sales days, if it is 50 % on tier 6-7 and 30% on T8. T8 I think is generally expensive but 6-7 with 50% (30% it has been on sales previously). I can think of a few as a collector which I have not bought before like Perth and Atlanta, they have been too odd. Somewhere is also the feeling that you can not play all ships, that the tech tree ships in harbour grows steadily is one thing but the premiums are when the techtrees are more or less filled losing the training new captains use and then more have a use in ranked and perfecting captains. I have the goal to have one premium per techtree, even if it is rather middle of the road but further ships in same line must have something extra that appeals to me. F.e. in US BB line with Texas, Arizona and Missouri I abstained from Alabama, she is too expensive at T8. Even if she comes out with 30% off she is, there it would probably need 75 % off or as a christmas gift/supercontainer to get her. But else I agree, HSF I do not care about but Gallant......

French Battleship Tech Tree Line Sheet

sure Croiseur de Bataille may/june 1928 37000 T 12-305 mm 33 kts, or w 6-406 27 kts (p 20-21 Jordan French Battleships 1922-56) In the book it refers to design studies in the interwar years, how the 35000T ship (theoretical WNT limits) could be designed. If you were to use 305 mm guns it would be 12-305 in 3 quads + sec arnament etc or as an alternative with 406 mm guns as the Big 7 was equipped with 406 mm guns. Speed then was to be reduced to 27 kts (maybe armour was enhanced also in this variant, it is speculated by the authors "maybe". And its guns would be 3x2. There are even variants lighter than 35.000 T. So it is an alternative that instead of using some Normandie/Lyon modernized ship variant you could use one of these as an alternative, but they seem rather mediocre, but it depends also on which tier, but as the designs were for 35000T WNT it is more powerful ships than Strasbourg even if you f.e. would use the 6-406 mm variant - it would be substantially faster than Nagato/Colorado and stronger main arnament than Gneisenau. You could build in turreted mounted secondary/AA arnament of decent standard also and more modern armour/protection layout compared with Normandie/Lyon.

Naturally no plans was given to Lyon as they were not even laid down, but in the aftermath of WW1 (before WNT) the Normandies which except Bearn had all been launched and hull and engines were 60-65% completed (p 14 Jordan)) serious plans was made to bring them more into line with foreign contemporaries and they would be lengthened , more hp 80000 vs 32000 as designed, increased elevation to 23 degrees=25-26000 metres range, new tripod foremast as in Bretagne with director firecontrol, horizontal protection strenghtened and bulges added. See page 14-15 in Jordans French Battleships 1922-56.

I commend you for effort but not a predread as T3, Courbet will be T3 suitably adjusted, T4-6 will be shifted down, You can also put Strasbourg somewhere, and also some interwar designs instead of Lyon. There are no scetches in Jordans book or other Warship yearbooks about the 17.7 inch /designs. Do you know any (and have the article/book for reference?) or is it just your imagination? I would not mind Lyon at all or some modernized Normandie with longer hull/better speed, this rebuild was contemplated after WW1 to bring them in line but as the design was old and would cost a lot they were scrapped instead. If so a original Normandie can be placed at T5 lightly modernized and a modernized with lengthened hull/better speed at T6

    Tier 6 ranked just boring?

T8 more balanced ships or T7 better? Well I think that ranked that is a solo grinding effort naturally should be played in different tiers different seasons. Why? Because you should be able to master every tier and variation in opponents. The new ships that arrives and new players might change the META and forces adaptation from players which is good. To have succesive seasons in same tier makes it too easy for those who have played before. It also hones your skills in dealing with METAS with or without radars, certain P2W ships etc. IMO you could have ships between tier 4-8 at least (one tier/season). Not higher than 8 - it is after all a gamemode that most players should find accesible. Noobs in your team - if you are good you will deal with it. If you are not good you will not advance. Other statements is just lies to make you feel better in the long run. If you are good and the other players are experts chance is higher that you are on the losing side and vice versa - that is a fact pure statistically in the long run.

How about a Dutch Premium ship

    Long thread here https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/79605-the-dutch-sacrifice-aka-why-isnt-there-a-dutch-premium-yet/?page=1

    Ranked has started

I will probably not even try to go below 12-15 but the premium camos can never be too many. It helps the grind on higher tiers on several painful ships much. The camos in the Santa boxes which amounted to several hundred are now long gone the Victory camos 2x200 soon also. Only some restless fire which I use on T10 are still left+ a few random ones from missions/containers.

    July Calendar

When you do a weekend mission with 25000 Base experience in the US ships it is a hefty amount, but when it is zeroed out every day it is bordering on an insult. In the game it is can be done daily which is not stated on the presentation on website. But how can you design a mission that demands with 1000 XP games 25 games maybe 7-8 hours of play? I play several hours many days but such missions are never going to be fun. I sincerely hope that this is a mistake!!
