Without Gallant, only one collection box a day??
Gnirf replied to FishDogFoodShack's topic in General Discussion
Yes 1st day middle package. In the prize you as the Hood must count in the extra flags in the containers you get from Gallant. -
To be fair with the doubloon refund the 50% were their best offer so far IMO. While I see the points of those that wanted a clear list, you could without any great effort look at the forum, the gold refund thing where fast spread here. Sure I miss some ships Perth f.e. and the sale naturally could have been better but I am hardly dissatisfied. The RU approach would have been nice too, but would on the other hand not have given the opportunity to get prem camo for 50% off. 30% Gold would not be enough to stack huge numbers. Personally I like the 50% off as 30% would not have made me bought Saipan or Atlanta. As I do own the majority of the premiums, the rest which have been already released and are avaiable for gold in techtree or in shop need higher discounts to be acceptable to buy. New Premiums may be interesting like Gallant which are new nation/tree or otherwise special in anyway. But for now it is only Kutuzov that is interesting and I will wait for an ingame discount. Next time the sale would probably be different. My real disappointment was the final sale, if there would have been a few interesting bundles with 3-4 ships at 50% off where you would have got the gold for those you have I would have been really happy. The communication could have been better, however an informed customer which takes the time to look at forums f.e. will always do better deals both from WOWS or elsewhere and I have no problem with that the lazy customer gets worse deals.

Why? Seems strange as Gallant is a requirement for daily missions to win containers. I expect Gallant to be released tomorrow. -
While there are ships that you may avoid, you have several good ships to choose from. F.e. if you choose between Warspite and Arizona try first the ship that you perform best in and have a strong captain in. Play it a few days/ i.e. a decent number of games. Change if i does not feel good. I play Arizona because I have a 19 p cpt from New Mexico in her, In Warspite I have a 12 p. I might try if I hit the wall in Arizona Warspite to change mentally, and I have on very few occasions taken Fubuki/Shinonome instead. As I know that I perform decently gunwise with Arizona and collect EliteXP I have endured the grind so far, though the results is not spectacular in any way. But it is a ship that have if I am on the losing side a decent chance to be top scorer on losing side, that is also important when you choose ship. We will see what happens during the forthcoming days, if I advance further down the Ranks from R10 which I entered first time yesterday I may have to change but on higher tiers if I bounce back to R12 hardly. On the early ranks players seem to take anything even stock ships so there the choice matters less, though you naturally do not place yourself at a disadvantage.

Never, only ship that I have sold is Eire, and that was early in the career. Now on 170 ships and counting.... Does not matter if I play them. All are upgraded, even low tier ships.

A newcomer with a question about inventory items
Gnirf replied to Il_Cesco's topic in Newcomers' Section
I never sell these special upgrades, you never know if modifications/buffs may come in the future. Credits are not a problem, just play a few games with some premium. -
even though her stats dmg wise also for me is far better than NO/Edinburgh I most certainly have more difficult to win/onfluence the game, I can spam far better damage numbers than with the others but it is more difficult IMHO to support caps and actively hunt DDs at the beginning. As an experimental thing I played Edinburgh with radar and even if that damage wise went not good, I felt that I could influence more by having far larger part of the damage vs DDs. Like NO. But my lack of skill might count for it.

Played 6 games in my Arizona yesterday, won 1. Had 4 high calibers, one loss was with 1 point so it was irritating. So you can pull your weight but lose anyway. But in the long run results at that level will make you advance. A few of the losses were also part of a good enemy. Problem was that a few games after the initial cap were some ships DDs or light cruisers that decided they needed action at all costs, yoloing off with their fast ships on solo rushes perhaps finding the tempo in the game lacking and if you lose a ship with no return especially a cruiser and DD together when we are slight ahead you can not to anything about it. It dos not matter if you fire well you will not kill the other ships rapidly enough, and with 21 kts speed you can not hunt them. I will not demand that other players should totally commit to my cause or so but at least be aware of the capabilities of your teammates, If you do 21 kts, go off two cruisers and a DD to enemy CAP at full speed without BB support is stupid - I can not do it because I have not the speed. Sure 3 of the 5 losses I saved my star, but I backed 1 yesterday. Perhaps I should be pleased anyway.

12500 doubloons + ports slot for those who have it. Needed some prem camos and I have earmarked my earlier doubloons for other stuff.

Losses? if you buy virtual good the losses are non -exixtent if you by ships that you would not have bought otherwise. Especially if your budget is flexible. For those like myself who buys most premiums on release the discounts was a way to convice me by ships that I did not have before. F.e. Atlanta and Saipan - i do not expect them to be played much so if the offer were not 50% I would no have bought them. The gold refund for those ships we had also was a gesture to paying customers that had paid the full price - now we were included in the offer indirectly and we get rewarded also. So if I got a refund and pay some prem camos with them that strenghtens WGs economy.

Yes true some package perhaps with the ships not on sale before like Arizona, Warspite, Mutsu, Scharnhorst, Tirpitz, Alabama in a mjaor bundle on 50% with full gold value for those you had in harbour - that would have been more in line with the announcement

Glad to see them, bought the DVD box a few months ago.

I do not agree with you at all. Ranking should be played at different tiers as you should if you are a good player deal with different ships/maps opponents. I think it is very good that one season it is T/ next T6 next t8 next T5 etc, The META changes, new ship lines gives variation and forces you to adapt! To f.e. have several T7 seasons in a row at T7 with the same ships is boring, same smoke meta same radar Belfast etc. I like T6 as there are lots of viable ships. Bad players will always be there. This is a niche game, we need new players and they must learn to play ranked. Sure it is annoying to see a non-camo stock Fuso without flags etc but that player will not advance very long.

I am not sure if I understand you correctly but you have taken some of the best ships - you do mean server average of that particular ship? Besides trends are more important, what if that guy played the first 3000 games poorly without caring and just recently started to find all material guides etc. It takes time to improve on a bad start. If you play lots of games as an collector you tend to get lower results as you have weaker captains which is detrimental to results especially on higher tiers. Personally I am at +12000 games but have not good results in some ships, better in others. What has f.e. performance in Minotaur to do with his performance in the T6 ships? That player could have some ships that he performs very well in , that he likes to play and has high level captains in? You never know. he might be bad as you say, but I do think your reasoning is a little flawed I play ranked and I naturally uses the ships that are considered useful and that I perform reasonable in. Even though META is different in ranked, you naturally knows how the ship performs its guns etc on various targets. But how I perform in Kamikaze f,e. (do not have Fujin) have little bearing on my Arizona performance, more so on my Fubuki/Shinonome of course. Average damage is also not clearcut, WR+avg damage together better but many have high damage by farming. If you play more for caps you get lower avg damage, smoke your team in a DD but you may be more useful. Besides you might be more concentrated in ranked. Tomatoes - is that your label on a average player? The majority of the players are average if you look at the distribution curve.

Rebought it for the doubloons, I took the expensive version as I wanted flags (Zulu Hotel, ESCL) + premium, if you want these things it is wise to choose the 50% T6/7 ships as they will be cheaper than if you buy the T8, the flags and premiums are cheaper also. The doubloons I have recieved can not be too many, For practically half prize I will get some Prem camos which are never on discount. If 5000 doubloons for T10 premium camos are on the hefty side, 2500 practically is another matter. I have a few T10 recently unlocked.

naturally not. But they might say it is very long down the list or it is not realistic at all in the near future, we are contemplating your suggestions or some hint in any direction If I remember correctly the Missouri was introduced after asian support, maybe some fundraising could be done for a premium ship if f.e. enough interest could be made clear. Let us say that if enough interest were made in a certain ship , they will make it and people that wants in pay in advance and then recieve it for free - i do not know just trying to be creative.....
-
Well it is just not patriotism, it is sheer profit if you have an audience that plays Computer games a lot, we have a tree in WOT but i do not care about them as I am only interested in ships. Some of our ships are interested gameplaywise and might be interesting to a wider audience, Tre Kronor cruisers with rapid fire guns or the Ansaldo proposal against the German pocket battleships, on around 14000 T with 6-28 in 3 twin turrets. I realize naturally that in the end 1 or 2 premiums or more if a pan-european tree will ever be on the agenda long in the future, but I wish.....
-
Naturally, but I would (as an accountant at mid managment level) like to know the figures, development cost time /tree/premium, sold units etc to know if I have any realistic hopes, how fast they produce the lines etc.

Yes special indeed - but if you think ahead for French BBs she is useful, even for French cruiser training I have used her, at least for T9/10 though I have used her for all, even if the (cruisers) build is not optimal, T6 is Ok to work on training captains in. MM is not always nice , but it no different for other T6 ships. I think Dunk is not so playable when uptiered as the other BBs, but the offer is with 50% reasonable. If you like oddities she is OK, all guns in the bow have its advantages. I have my overall Damagerecord in her 197 K helped a lot by some poor enemies as most top scores are (but no AFKs). I play more and better generally in Warspite and Arizona as I dislike ships with unreliable guns, which Dunk have, but her speed and gun config have its advantages. It depends on what you like. Her armour is not good.

The list are endless - the question is should you make huge amounts of ships with different names to satisfy some customers - a cheap method probably. Surprised? While I will not debate your example Samuel B Roberts contribution - question is how much more players do you recieve from making that ship? or retention? While f.e. French, Royal Navy and Italian navy are barely started? I see that you write fighting in ww2 true, i respect that, but for me from Sweden I naturally want a swedish ship to play, we had a few even ships with some interesting features gamewise. We did not fight in ww2 but we are customers to the game. Dutch fought - no ships, Spain did not fight no ships, South American countries some ships. So it is a balance question on how the development should go on. Do you need trees that go to T10 or can you accept that some trees end earlier? F.e. Minor nations trees , German , British battlecruisers (if you do not use too many fantasy ships). Historical value or game value is not always the same. I wish I have had the opportunity to interview them and they had to tell the truth on how they see at these subjects- how they calculate - for a new premium or ship tree for us smaller nations.

Duca D Aosta in shop 50% off

- When do you play? Started a new job so very little time during weekdays, a few games, weekends more and I have planned vacation later in the season. - How many games? A few losses in a row then I quit, and play randoms (if on a longer sessions). As I recently got my 2nd 19 p captain in New Mexico I play Arizona so I farm eliteXP, this fact will make me try ranked a little longer than usual i suppose, previous saesons I have played only a handful of games for the rewards, now I can improve a few captains , by the eliteXP. - How many type ships, one ore more? So far I play Arizona, and have tried a few games in Fubuki/Shinonome. I am only at R12 so will see how it changes later if I advance further. - When do you make a breaktime? After a few hours in the weekends, in workdays I onluy play 2-4 games. - Which period of season is better, what do y : Well i do not believe in Miessa3s theory. I believe more of a post in another thread (may have been here or on the US forum) that ranked is a grinds where your chances are higher to go up with your relative skill level. So if the average skill level goes down, your chances will go up, it is the law of averages. Your impact in the team will go up if the playerbase goes down, The rant about potatoes etc is simply not valid - it is just statistic law. It might lead to higher frustration but with lesser skilled players your chances are higher that you are nr 1 when you are losing and that is what you advances from in the long run. This is more important the lesser skilled you are. If you are a 55% player and plays with 60% players in the beginning of the season at higher ranks, your team will likely lose, and you are not likely to be nr 1 in the losing team. If you are a 55% player and late in the season plays with 52 % players, your team has a slight advantage which in the end lets you advance. I plan my play after that so regardless how much effort or how low I strive I will end if I think my advancements stalls. I play for fun not grinding so I rather play randoms if it is a endless back and forth 1 rank up or down. It is too little variety in ranked as I play with same ships. If I reach R10 or 7 or whatever we will see. R1 is not a goal in any case.
