WoWs Forum shutdown (on July 28th) !?!?!?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
@Crysantos, @YabbaCoe, @Seraphice, One other thing that baffles me is that a company does not seem to care much of its customers, legacy and history. If you look at other industries well I do not know if you have the qualifications to do that or are interested in strategic management, but I am and I have worked for three decades in various positions that are close to or at the management level. Maybe it is the corporate culture "East European style" that shows its face, but I am seriously quite baffled. The three days notice is ofc a tell tale sign that you do not care at all about your customers, but it is also a sign that you are not interested in your companys history and legacy. All of the organisations and companys that I work in are proud of their customers and the corporate history while you take steps in destroying that instead. This seldom leads to success. If we look at a recent example Bud Light, where the companys new market executive tried the Woke agenda, alienating its customer base, it ended with disaster. I have been involved in several recruitments of top executives and I am not impressed so far of the arguments from your side, to force players into such mess and destroying the games history and legacy. It seems that the latter is something you totally ignore in the decision making process. No activity? Have ever a move been greeted with so much negative critique in such vast numbers? I feel sad for you that you are a middle in this between the executives responsible for this that are totally out of touch with legacy, history and the playerbase. -

Concealed manouvres are pretty useful in ticking Spanish tokens, been over the 2000 Mark in Kii a couple of times. Well I know that the experts present better results, but I thoght to post this as a farewell in this 898 pages long post. GL on doing that on Discord. Sadly I do not have a puking emoij to post. WoWs Forum shutdown (on July 28th) !?!?!?
Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Yes and failure of Titanic was the result of arrogant captain/management onboard the ship that ignored warnings of ice, in a ship with not enough lifeboats. I have read through the NA thread and there are comments on severe security issues on discord in the past and it is baffling that WG deliberately are forcing the players on a platform that is so disgusting lacking in functionality, security etc. on players that are not agewise in the short attention span players. You do realize that given WOWS is a game related to naval history, lots of discussion are also around history of ships, which you also advertise. The shutdown on all this is hardly in line with that, maybe you in WG staff are just gamers @Seraphice., @Crysantos , but I am not , I am playing the game for my interest in Warships. Discord are useless for discussions where you have a certain topic and lots of topics in this game compared to other fantasy games that you refer to have no time limit or far longer relevance in time. A fictious fantasy game of today have seldom that lifespan that a game of WOWS have. I really do wonder if you realize what kind of game that WOWs are compared to those fantasy games and that several players that are on Wows are in this game not because of gaming in itself. I did not play much games the last years before Wows say 2005-15. But I played single player games heavily 1990-2005 in the form of f.e. Pirates Raiiroad Tycoon, Civ, Master of Orion, probably among the top 0,0001% players in hours on that game in the world Community in the form of forums have made me stay a lot. My interests have always been , all or nothing, that you can see on my spending history and number of games. I realize now that naval interested veterans with long attention spans are not players that are interesting for you. It is sad that you choose this way. Also the patches, background emblems etc are also now also worthless. But a more serious matter overall is the discords security. I snip in this relevant post on Discords history security from NA Forum post 87 on their post of Forum shutdown in the News section. There is a safety issue for users Discord security: The not-so-good 1. Potential inappropriate content As with any social media platform with user-generated content, Discord can contain inappropriate or harassing content. Yes, Discord seems to be making the platform safer (for example, it started to ban harmful misinformation and examine off-platform behavior of a user who has violated the guidelines). But with so many users, keeping all the inappropriate content at bay is, well, impossible. So, it’s crucial to know how to deal with it, especially for kids and parents. there is more ..... 2. Discord scams and security threats Those are always a risk, and Discord is no exception. These are the most common Discord scams and privacy threats. Discord account used for spam Account takeover attacks as those above entail two main things: your personal info stolen and spam being sent from your account. With the latter, the hacker can spam each person you’ve talked to on Discord and even get you banned on servers. 3 User data shared and threatened Unfortunately, Discord is known for handing over user data to criminals. In 2022, the company admitted to giving user data to hackers who used forged legal requests. Another issue is the 800,000-euro fine for Discord’s failure to secure personal data. 4 Discord malware Yeah, that’s been made a separate thing. Discord malware refers to viruses spread through the Discord platform and often disguised as gaming-related tools and cheats. It can be really harmful, like in these cases: The TikTok Invisible Challenge tricked users into downloading WASP Stealer (Discord Token Grabber) malware. It’s targeted at stealing all the victim’s Discord accounts, passwords, crypto wallets, credit cards, and other sensitive files on the victim’s PC. SpideyBot malware modified the Windows Discord client and stole personal information, such as IP addresses, usernames, email addresses, phone numbers, and even what was copied to the clipboard. A JavaScript library disguised as “fallguys” promised access to the Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout game API, but was actually used as bait to steal information about users’ browsing history and Discord activity. Hackers used ransomware called AxLocker to steal from Discord users’ accounts. It compromised Discord account credentials, exposing sensitive information to the hackers. 5 None of these risk exist in the world of warships forum None -
Well multianswer not possible, I guess the answer will be reddit then, I might pop in from time to time but look for answers on f.e. a new event or something like that , Discord looks hopeless so Reddit will be the place. Any serious discussion seems atm hopeless. I have posted sometimes on Reddit if I find the topic interesting but it will be far less WOWS-related activity outside the game. I will guess -80% or so. Scanning through unsorted posts on Discord totally uninteresting.

Well I will miss all forumites. Goodbye to you all. Also LWMs fantastic reviews, Warship projects etc all those long Best Games threads etc are they even possible on Discord? WGs selfdestructive behaviour is beyond me. Are on reddit EUGnirf

The European DD mission just showcases how garbage they are.

Yes I bought a Distant Voyages container for the summer tokens - that gave me a National camo for the Diana....... really it ended any small remains of enthusiasm for this chain. I just play the fires out. But then grind Split normally (daily win). Therefor no chance at all ofc. -
Why only 28 silver Spanish tokens per season?
Gnirf replied to Anthoniusii's topic in General Discussion
Good work, to dig up the presented list. Personally I will play a lot this first 2-week period as this is during my vacation and the first few days on next period, but I doubt that I will reach near the required number as I probably prefer to use the silver on the bonus packs. If it is only a few packs that are needed for the T8 as it includes a 10 p I might consider it. I am not sure if I want to use that much community tokens but the concealed manouvres will compensate a lot. I am up on near 30000 tokens so if the ship boxes are updated I want to use the tokens maybe there. Edit. Seems like it is hopeless if you use some on bonus packs so I guess it is a no then to T8. -

Base XP are unaffected by Premium account but the amount is insane as I have mentioned earlier in this topic -
Narai in operations I used a lot of high end boosters in. during the Asym Battles I used a lot too. The second issue I think is little different. but when I have many boosters there is no need to think too much, there is no point in excessive hoarding if I do not as you say expect favourable game modes. Played Asymmetric a lot with blue even some red elite XP and blue credit as the winning percentage was satisfactory. That was with Pommern, Musashi and Bourgogne. Smolensk I used green. It kind of evens out for statistical reasons. Otherwise I used a lot in ranked T9 last ranked season, Missouri ofc.

Some of us are in the game for historical reasons and naval interest. The Norwegian players are ofc thrilled by Stord a really famous warship with excellent battle record. -

Sadly no, which makes this one of the few missions I probably want to finish (not counting clan, test modes and such), I have almost always fixed all normal missions for randoms/coop (not every task though if there is say 5 of 7 necessary). -

That is true like in naval battles, diverse fleet is the key -

Well I have had somewhat higher success, after two days in Stord and Grom I have reached 75K maybe 15 games or so. But it is doubtful, I mean 400K spotting is no easyway either and you can not even do them in any Eu DD you have to do them in specific ships. So I have the Split but have to return to Stord/Grom for the fires. I will try to finish the fire ones as to get the last parts naturally but I do not think I will make it it is too much for the end prize as it will destroy/hinder other grinds that I do. If the last one had been XP and not base xP it would have bben another thing. 45000 Base XP in coop let us say 300/game it is 150 games and random 1000 is still 45 games. I am not interested in that kind of extreme powergrind. The tasks are among the hardest I have seen in a long time. -
I fully agree the superships are a hidden way to rob credits. Hmm I can not say that I remember it was 60-80 super camos /year maybe half that number but ofc if you bought a lot of Santas, but I do not record more than SCs and Santas. But the blue boosters are reasonable , for me I think it is not the Ship XP that is the problem it is the Elite/FreeXP that is smaller.

Great idea. I was a coward and used Bourgogne instead. the numbers were reasonable there as well. -
Edit: Sorry for long text go to the last part if you want. Much of what you say I agree with. But I somehow think that apart from EliteXP which as you maybe remember was not there at the start in the game in the first skill tree the things that you get for free is more today, what the premium offer is roughly the same (slightly less) and that the two extra levels are on top so to say. The coal/steel ships have increased a lot but they hand out resources in a different way. If we translate FreeXP into RB they are naturally more expensive, but the first FreeXP boat Missouri those 750 K was nasty to grind, I even had to convert for doubloons. Now I have 12 M FreeXP + 1,2 M coal, sure I spend but not the same as before. That is my general feeling at least that they absolutely monetize more and more , more frequent releases etc, but I am not sure that F2P get less, I have rather the feeling that they offer more and more for those with money. Earlier in Wows most offers were camo packages and premium ships. I agree with what many say but I am not convinced that they offer less for free , more that they just adding more and more for pay and various token schemes that never carry over. But if I look at my coal stack (have not bought any auctions) it has just added up I have bought all coal ships but are not using it for anything else, but 1 upgrade and 2 signals pack 50% Indian Delta (coupons). We can say that FreeXP have been inflated and useless but I see it as RB. Do we get less fREEXP if we count the freely distributed bonuses now compared to the flags earlier? i am not sure, that would be interesting to see but I have no idea and I can not make it up from my notes at least. While we can assume that they are nerfed I am not sure how much and compared with what year. It si more now that in the begining. That Papa Papa signal (was the freeXP signal?) were hard to come by if I remember correctly so it was difficult to amass FreeXP fast. Now I feel that it does not take long to get 1M even if it takes more games than with stacks before rework. My blue boosters stack have not moved much untli Asym Battles where the stack took some dent, but I have had days that I played maybe 20-30 Asym battles, but I try to use boosters roughly in the same speed as I get them or a slowly decline as I had a lot from the start. Think I had 1000 blue Elite XP and now a few years fater I am stil over 700. Ship XP have not moved in numbers, they really speed up (re)grinds but i only use those at the 7-9 if i want to speed up.credits same. I would gladly have switched boosters to Elite XPi f I could do that. I think that the reason apart from the money grab thing is that newer players can speed up their port, and the playerbase is full of money to do that. Us veterans can keep the pace but say that you start now and like the game, and you have money , I think that they have upped the 3-level subscrption thing to facilitate that and compared to other things in wows arsenal of offers at least the first two levels are reasonable, third level only iif you play extremely much or have a large budget, because that is too expensive for most players. But if you are at my level at 15-30 hours weekly and therefor get more or less max. extra stages and lots of first wins I have found that it is expensive but probably a safe way to get extra bonuses.

Gnirf replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
Despite the nerf I can now summarize the ABs. Have managed the 50000 on 3 of the 4 weeks. Grinded around 300 of the last 700 on Preussen captain and Schlieffen from 16-21 all on Pommern. Smolensk I used to get Petro the last 3-400 K and then I have mixed a lot with Bourgogne and Yamato/musashi with various captains. Have tried DDs among others Jäger a few times. Will miss the mode as it is current. -
therelies a lot in this. And the prizes are also considering the large number of ships out there too high, especially older premiums. Many of us also buys douboons with coupons and themn use coupons so is the same ship quite a lot more afflordable. Prizes have always been high for ex. a T8 ship, but earlier they were at least sometimes decent discounts. Also when there are so many premium ships one of the few things that I buy (christmas crates) are very good if you have almost everything (like me) but more prone to get cheap T5/6 premiums if you are not A lootbox where 4 out of 200 are good is just not interesting. Also say a Distant Voyager container - Say that there was a chance of taking one camo of your choice the value for the player would have been much higher.

Yes the steel influx have increased, despite not playing clan battles my stock increases faster than 1 boat/coupon every 6 months, but partly this is because dockyards and these BPs, the large fleet helps, as it brings around 10 K steel from snowflakes. So when Somers went it was chosen and I just had the steel. Puerto Rico gave a lot of players influx also, well above 30000 steel esp with full clan bonus over 35000. Now with CV and sub, last time I went for Mecklenburg without any large enthusiasm. Latest coupon is not used yet, will see if any new ship comes in before expiry date later this year, otherwise I probably buy Fdr as this is the most expensive. But I was also surprised, thought that it would be not much higher that starting bid, so was really way off here.
-
Think so? Somers was a real ship, most of the other steel ships are not. I was happy that I had the steel when Somers were removed. It would be interesting, maybe lots of NA players will try get her. We will see if Iwaki and Arkansas (beta), will show up and see how many collectors that will bid. Gremy were not sold much above starting bid if I remember correctly. If many players think like you (and I am sure there are), maybe a bid in the region of the starting bid have a chance to be successful? As steel can not be whaled and has probably not been hoarded among many, I am even surprised that the starting bid is as high as 30 K, if I remember correctly it was cheaper. If I remember correctly the first at least FReeXp bids on auction were not provocative high.
