    Scharn is now available on the Us server

    Whatever reason they would have to delay the release of Scharnhorst, they have made a terrible decision, pi**ing off their most loyal, paying customers. The anger is justified. Scharnhorst should be a european release first (if not simoultaneously) of all servers. Because it's european and ppl here have relatives/fellow countrymen who fought on both sides of the war. Like the Arizona was released early on the NA server because being american and it was 4th of july, scharnhorst should be released early on the european server. I expected scharnhorst to atleast be released at the same time as the other servers WG EU: the lack of information is appalling. We are paying customers, and we get very little information about important issues, game updates and what's happening with new content. Instead we have to find it on the russian or american servers, because we don’t get satisfying answers or any at all on EU. Why there isn't even an apology about the missing Scharnhorst is unbelivable. It is an insult to the european players. The german battleships are comming in a patch in a very short time, making the later release of Scharnhorst awkward. The feeling of being last every time when something important and new is happening. All we got was the crappy Krasni Krym noone cares about. Scharnhorst was a big deal. It was one of the most anticipated ships in the game since launch, and now we can't drive it before the ship has been enjoyed on the NA server for days, maybe even weeks!!!? "They need it more on the NA server because..." No they don’t! If it's because of low population or will to pay, they don’t need exclusivity over other servers. EU should not be of any less value. "Gamescom is in the way for an early EU release " why the h**ll was it released on the NA server first then??? Many on the eu-server isn't going either for many reasons. The Gamescom event has rather been a wrench in the machinery for non-attending gamers, with delayed update of content. Adressing the community: no effort is done to clarify what's happening. No comments from WG or any explanation. This really pi**es the community off. weekend bonuses. The unequal treatment between the servers should stop. X3 XP weekends on the NA server, and x2 on the EU? someone at EU hates their Job. We should switch managers with the NA server, or we should get better deals. We want better bonuses and greater deals, equal in quality to the other servers. "Something to do with the patch?" Why was is released on the NA server then?? It works just fine there! It would do the same on EU, and people would have been a lot happier. Now it just leaves a strange taste.
  2. Playing a CV today leaves much to desire trying to fill the role as the damage dealer/ area control ship. The current game mechanics takes away some of the joys that could have been there. The idea I describe is the foundation of every rts game and also warfare in general. You never know what your enemy brings to the table, and you need to scout to find out. You scout, you find out what you need to counter, and you load your desired airgroup setup. I found some interesting suggestions on the american forum, and wanted to refine the suggestion to make carrier gameplay better. One of the main reasons for the lack of enjoyment is the current setup of airgroups. No setup solves all the problems you encounter, and much is down to pure luck regarding what your opponent's airgroup setup is. If you take Strike, you loose your ability to defend and attack enemy aircraft, and leaves you vulnerable to an enemy carrier with an AS setup. AS setup is much less rewarding XP-wise, and makes you able to counter only ONE enemy ship, the other teams CV. After you have shot down all his planes, you spend the rest scouting and watching the other players sink each others ships. Not really enjoyable, it's boring. The stock setup will not excel in anything, but gives you something of everything. I think a good solution to this would be the ability to change airgroup loadout in-game, to fit the current situation. The way a carrier loadout works today is the same as if you would have to decide to load HE or AP in your BB/ CA guns before you entered the game, and could only change it when you're back in port again before a new game. It sounds silly, right? having the ability to change airgroup loadout throughout the game would make the CV much more flexible, without being overpowered, or nerfing other ships and IJN/ US navy CV balance. Have the choise between the same airgroup loadouts you find in port for each respective CV same number of groups as today for the respective CV, same numbers of planes in the groups research it the same way as today. Same maximum numbers of aircraft allowed in the air at the same time as the respective airgroup you change it by selecting your desired setup like you would be switching between HE and AP on a BB, and the new setup loads (readies the aircraft for combat) before changing to a new loadout, airgroups not belonging to the new loadout must land back on the carrier (Torpedo bombers must land before AS setup is loaded, you can not have more airgroups of one type than what the current setup allows. Allow players to use only bombers in a strike setup, to pierce heavily defended AA areas. The downside would be that you would still loose a lot of planes, but is able to sink a high value defended target. The loadouts and numbers of aircraft in the air stays the same as today, therefore it will be as balanced as it is today Another possibility is to be able to completely customise the squadron types, but I'm not sure how balanced that would be. I think carrier gameplay would be much more dynamic when you can counter both AS opponents and attack enemy ships in the same game, granted you can only do one role at the same time. Another element of carrier play should be rewards for detecting enemy ships. In general, players should be revarded for teamplay. your aircraft gets XP/coins for scouting enemy ships could be similar to how the AA aura works, ships spotted by you gives you points after a set amount of time alternatively, a scouting button, target an area or ship for scouting, and receive rewards as long as it is activated. third option: XP gain over time, more revards for scouting a target with a high concealment (DD), less for scouting a target with low concealment (BB, CV) large group gains more XP, a single plane gives less. I think being able to select aircraft loadouts in game would make CV play much more enjoyable and dynamic. What do you think?

    CV is only contested by the enemy CV!

    CVs are rare in high tier games nowadays, for many reasons. In mid tier they can be powerful, but can not loose any aircraft before the squadrons are depleted. Personally I don't think CVs offer the same fun as the other ship classes do, and they are plagued by bugs and the airgroup loadout mechanic is bad. Before the battle you have to decide if you are going strike or Air supperiority. That's like having to choose AP or HE if you play a cruiser or a BB. I play BBs and cruisers most, but I also want to play carriers. The problem with high tier carrier play is that you are limited to a fixed squadron loadout throughout the entire game. If you meet a AS carrier as a strike, a good player can basically lock down your carrier. On the other hand, the other carrier only manages to counter 1 of the enemy ships, and when it's done, the game usually consists of scouting for the other teammates. That's both boring and painful for both carriers. I think the AA defence is good enough as it is. Most ships in high tier games have very good AA on their own, in groups they are virtually no-fly zones. It is suicide for anything but a strike carrier to try to take out ships in a group, with heavy losses. Defensive AA ruins the accuracy, and don't even need to shoot down planes to disrupt hitting the target. I rarely see carriers in high tier games tier 8-10, but people complain about them anyways. I agree that a potato player can ruin the teams effort, and you can screw up a lot in a carrier, but a DD going behind BBs in the start of the game will be equally bad, together with BBs shooting at max range and cruisers suicide run in the front. Bad players ruins the game for the team regardless of what ship they have. Carriers have a special role, so it is noticable when the player is a potato. I've lost more games from bad BBs and DDs. The counter for them is a carrier. High tier games have suffered with stagnant gameplay, with DDs dominating the minds of the players. Torpedo soup is a real thing, and something BBs and large cruisers want to avoid. A carrier can break up this stalemate, and forces the players to play better and more dynamic, back and forth. I think it is a good thing, but CVs need to be improved in how they work today. They are just not enjoyable with the bugs and limitations they have at the moment. Having the ability to change loadout would make them atleast more flexible. The main problem the OP has, is a bad CV player on his team. Balancing ships will not change that. You already have the tools in the game to protect you from carriers.

    Visibility System

    I like that situational awareness is made available for everyone. I think it was a right decision, and generally the new patch seems nice. What I don't like is that you can't choose what you can use the extra point for, and to do so it requires a skill reset that ultimately cost real money. Changing the way the skill works or moving/deleting skills from the tree should not happen without resets! I think that reason alone should qualify for a free reset of the captain skill. Why not make it possible to use in-game money as an alternative like on the consumables?

    Co-op Battle Missions

    The rewards should be better imo, and I don't know how a carrier is supposed to play this mode if is going to be closed in, brawled and surrounded by enemy ships. I need to test that out more on the test server. I think it would be nice to be able to choose between "normal" Co-op and Co-op battle missions. If I want to play the battle missions, loading the normal "carousell" of maps is tedious, and if you don't want to play this mode, you just can't choose. I think the mode was fun, and something players desired in PvE. This would make me play Co-op more, but I think the rewards should be better. How about flag revards? XP flags like the one you get from Kraken, but is very hard for many players to achieve. Cash revard should be better, and reflect dificulty and damage done. I agree with previous posters that the time limit for creating a team should be higher, or any other mechanism that gives you less bots on your team, and more players. After all, it's called Co-op, and you can't co-op with a AI that doesn't respond to your messeges. You have human players that can ignore your messages amazingly well. I just loved seeing the line of battleships incomming, ready for battle. Co-op needs something to revitalise the mode, but I don't think the low earnings will attract more players for long.

    Scharnhorst Hype :D

    Thank you! It was a pleasure fighting alongside with you! Nice to see the Scharnhorst in action, one of my absolute favorite warships! Intense focus fire when everyone wanted to "test" the armor, tried to draw some of the fire away. Did some nice hits on the enemy as well, punishing broadside cruisers and BBs.     Scharnhorst Hype :D

    I played on the same team as Devanejah yesterday in my Warspite, and the Scharnhorst seemed to perform well, but not overpowered. When played to its strength and in the right circumstances it will be a beast, but other BBs at the tier can outdamage it as well. It seemed like a good brawler. My Warspite certainly could match the damage atleast. Actually, coop between Warspite and Scharnhorst seemed to go pretty well, since both are tough and maneuverable, and guns are at their strength at brawling distance. My friend have the replay, I can see if I can post it later at my pc.

    New Ribbons

    Found it. I like the damage counter, but I hate the new look on the ribbons. I'm having a hard time finding out what they are, and they look like torn pieces of paper. Don't have the good feel like it was with the originals. I would like them to look like the old ones that looked like military achievements. But with the damage counter!

    The game lags. Ships aren't where they are on the screen. This happens to several players in the same game. It's also happening on the live server.

    I've only received 100.000.000 as well. That's way too little to be able to buy what I want and not bakrupt myself in tier 10 battles! Last time we had 1000.000.000, and I still used 400.000.000 on ships, upgrades and tier 10 battles. I hope we don't have to farm the money to be able to play? I'm broke now.

    MatchMaker 2.0

    So far the match making has been very good. I haven't encountered any fail divisions, and it's matched pretty consistent after the match "rules" mentioned on the forum.

    New "Bastion" Mode

    Tried Bastion mode. It's really a domination mode with guns and radar/observation. When friendlies capture, they will be used to spot and attack enemy ships. They can be attacked with the ships artillery and looses HP like a ship. Had the Iowa shell the fort with secondaries and main guns.

    Seems fine to me. Nothing new that battleships can oneshot cruisers. I hit two cruisers broadside, and they lost nearly all their life. not killed anyone yet, because of the typical mountain and other circumstances. Damage wise it seems pretty normal, both citadels and normal hits. typical overpens happens players just turn their cruisers anyways before all shells hit, so they don't get oneshoted. On the test server there are a lot more captains showing their broadside.

    Citadel hit sound is a lot better. I really like the new damage sounds when your ship is hit as well.

    Lag spikes and bugs!

    I have experienced the same, as well as the other players on the map. Random spikes makes planes unusable and you can't fire properly or do maneuvers. Sometimes it's so bad that I end up in port before the game ends, with the ship back in port. This seems to be on the server side, my connection is ok and I don't use mods.

    Upgrade changes

    In the patch notes thread, you stated: "Artillery Plotting Room Modification 2 (-7% to maximum dispersion of main battery shells): the bonus has been increased to -16% to maximum dispersion of main battery shells. This upgrade will be available only for US battleships" The tooltip ingame states 11% for Iowa and Montana. What's the correct value?

    "Mouse over" sound in menu is unnessesary and annyoing. Please remove it, or make it an option!

    Path of the warrior was a great experience! First time I've been regulary close quarters fighting between islands with other battleships. Nice map for secondaries, and the weather changes the gameplay completely. No more sniping! everyone need to stay together to stay alive. I like that.

    Yes, agree! Secondaries on many battleships are actually a big thing, since they often turn like a brick and main batteries are hard to use against fast DDs and CLs. No point nerfing them, since it's already a situational thing. You don't want to be that close to anything, but it happens.

    Islands of ice is generally an improvement. Exciting with the weather effects, totally different experience. I miss the south area though, that was a fun area with cruisers and DDs.

    I would like an option to select the map you want to play. This makes it easier to select what consumables and ship you want to play, since some maps favors DDs and aircraft carriers, while others favors BBs and cruisers. Another thing is that some maps are appearing over and over again, while others are never selected. Considering the addition of more maps in future patches, the need to be able to select what you want to play is greater. After all, this is the "fun factor" of the game. Maps you enjoy. When you get the same map for the 7th time, you become fed up and bored.
