3x4 is way more flexible than 2x5. Also I saw waaaaaaay more Somers in the last T10 CBs without CVs and the last KoTS than Gearing. If there is both T10 BB and CV in future CBs than sure, Slava would be a good pick. If not than Slava is loosing its value. Slava is good as long as people are showing you a broadside, against angled and bow on targets is far less effective due lack of overmatch. And its fire chance is not that impressive. So it is not good if you need to dislodge someone from some entrenched position. It citadel protection is good as long as you don't show broadside but 25mm/32mm deck means it will eat a lot of HE damage, but also 25mm bow will always guaranty full pens against other BBs is you try to bow tank. And lack of one heal means it can heal less then other BBs. So it is less ideal for push than other BBs. Slava is a great ship, don't get me wrong, and it could be used in competitive but vs good and experienced teams I don't see what it can do better then other BBs. If you can catch someone it could punish really hard, if not, well you will wish that you are in something else. I don't have either Agir or Siegfried but I still think that Alaska is better than both. We don't have anyone a single T9 steel ship so there is nothing to compare there. I understand that. There is a lot of things wrong with RB. All RB ship are good, just like all steel ships are good and if ship is good it could be used in competitive. But that doesn't make it top pick for that mode. IMO only SG is top competitive choice, all others could be used but there are other ship that could take their space. It all depends on teams and their tactics, how they utilize those ship. And how WG will define rules of the next T10 CBs. Also WG needs to put good ships in the RB to make it looks worth regrinding lines, otherwise nobody will do it if those ship are less appealing. I can see WG logic there, I don't agree with it just as with all logic of RB, but I can understand why WG is doing that.

SG and Somers are still the top pick for any competitive mode, of course Somers if there is no CV present. Burger could be used in competitive but, even tho a great ship overall, it has some limitations like armour protection or overmatch capabilities. Shikishima is .... well don't know what to think about that ship, by stats it looks decent/good but I never play it. On the other hand, out of all RB ships, only Ohio is competitive. Colbert and Slava much less so. Sure someone could use them as I saw one team using Colbert in CBs, not very successful, but they are not top picks there as there are better choices. Why use Colbert if you can use Smolensk and Slava is just as squishy as Burger but with the same limitations but much less utility. Don't get me wrong. Slava is a great ship but i doubt anyone would pick it over CV or good old Kremlin. Even Ohio is not some kind of ultimate competitive BB. In all recent tournaments and KoTS, there were much more Thunderer's or Yamato's then Ohio's. Siegfried? Well we don't have any T9 steel ship but in the last 3v3 BNL League, by far the most used T9 cruiser was Alaska. In fact I only saw one team using Agir, al the rest used Alaska. So while I personally have lot of complains about all concept of RP, personally I don't think we need it in the first place, I don't think that ships in RB are better suited for competitive gameplay. And playing last T10 CBs and watching both KoTS and several recent tournaments like Invitation Masters, or whatever it is called, I didn't see many RB ships present there. Also there are three high tier ship in development, one of which could end to be sold for steel, Roosevelt, Paolo and Kitakami. So there is still something to wait for while collecting the steel.

It is a good ship, I personally don't consider it OP but neither weak nor a good addition to the game. Is it better then Thunderer or Ohio? In some case yes in other no, it has advantages over them but also disadvantages. Is it worth regrinding 5 lines? That is up to you. As I said it is a good ship but it might not meet your expectations or you may not like its gameplay. My suggestion is to watch some streamer playing it or watch more videos on YT or wait for more stats I personally will get it but just because I have enough RP for it. I would never grind all those lines for the ship no matter how good it is, I only grind for x2 bonus every three month. So if I have enough RP for a ship then good, if not then maybe in time I will but I wouldn't never purposely do it just for one ship.

You mean could shell citadel Slava on range due plunging? I don't know, maybe but I doubt you can do that consistently especially with standard BB dispersion on long range.

Full broadside sure, you can citadel it. Angled ... well depending on distance and AP pen value at that distance. Its belt armour is 350mm and it is sloped which effectively increase its value. But it can tank if properly angled. Front cheek is 100mm, and considering that citadel behind it is 350mm (so 450mm but effectively probably a somewhat more), it should be possible but again question is at what distance and angle.

Slava front and back citadel armour is 350mm but at both bow and stern there is more armour that is not visible in armour preview. Front bulkhead is actually 420mm thick and it is angled. Stern has even more armour, 400mm angled plate and behind that 100mm rudder protection and then 350mm citadel armour. Basically, even tho its bow and stern are overmatchable by 15inch guns, Slava is impossible to citadel through those parts at any range. iChase and Aerroon tested this yesterday and while every hit resulted in full pen damage, they couldn't citadel Slava from bow, not even from 1.1km range. So its armour is not that bad as some people think it is.

Why not? 406mm is capable of overmatching DM bow. It is a ship balanced between extreme strengths and weaknesses. Those who know how to aim and position will be able to have exceptional games in it, those who don't will be punished hard. So balanced by potatos falling to perform in it. And sure Flamu could do same in Yamato and Thunderer but not as consistently as in Slava and that is a difference. It has 24km range and the biggest map in WoWs is 48 x 48km. You can't always be angled against everything and this ship has potential to blap you across (almost) whole map. You can fight around one cap and get sniped from around cap on the opposite side of the map. So you really need to be aware where all ships are and what they are doing. And even then, Slava will be able to always find someone who is showing more side then it should. No, it doesn't. But guess what, WG does with Borodino and Florida having the same concept, at least for now.

You get coal from Ranked Sprint not Ranked, big difference. You mentioned them all. Here and there you can get some additional coal from places like dockyard or SC or Anniversary/Christmas events, but daily containers and daily missions are major source of coal. There is no shortcut for it.

Low number of players in lower tiers, T2 - T4, doesn't necessary mean that there is no new players. In fact WG completely neglected those tiers and game economy enable players to quickly move through those tiers. You can get from T1 to T5 in just couple of hours. There is no new low tier premiums, if I'm not wrong Vampire and Dreadnought were last of those below T5 premiums added to the game at that was back in 2018 I think. They are probably not profitable enough. There is no specific low tier content except random and coop battles so many players are just ignoring them.
