Extra Heal is nice if you have a time to use it. But it is useless if you get burned to the death by HE spamming.

Keep in mind that to see new German DDs you need to have an account on the site.

It doesn't matter if it is existing ship. If it is a regular tech tree ship than it represent a combination of the whole class, not a particular ship. I'm not saying that is right thing to do, or that is the way it should be, but that is the way it is, that is a WG doctrine. They stated it over and over every time they were criticised why some ship is not correctly representing its historical model, like the most recent case of Vittorio Veneto.

Seems like only T9 and T10 get improved pen angles. T7 and T8 have standard 45 - 60 degree. There are some differences in armour between Z-31 and Z-39. As being downtiered from T8, Z-39 kept 19mm hull compared to usual 16mm of T7 DDs. Z-31 has 16mm bow and stern but middle section of hull, both belt and deck, is 25mm. Maerker and Schulz both have 25mm belt and 19mm deck, while Elbing, just like Z-31, has 25mm both belt and deck.

Balkan Line Destroyers in European Tech Tree
fumtu replied to Andrejevic_'s topic in General Discussion
Pan European tree already has ships from four different nations, well three nations and one empire. You can easily put Polish captain on Dutch or Swedish or Austro-Hungarian ship. So what is a problem? If someone don't like having a Polish or Greek captain on the Swedish or Turkish ship, he can easily "retaliate" by putting Swedish or Turkish captain on Polish or Greek ship. Simple. While I do understand sentiment, I don't see why would this be a problem that would prevent implementation of future lines. By you we can forget about Pan American line as lot of them also don't have much love for their naighbours. Sometimes those ships were modernised and differ from their original form. And there are still some completely different ships, even tho they were designed and build in British or French shipyards. And where would those premiums be? In Pan European tree or in some national tree? If it is in Pan European tree than what is a point not having a regular line if you can already put captain from any other nation available for Pan European tree. If it is in national tree then good luck grinding a good captain just for a single (or few) premium ships.- 32 replies

If by class you mean that both are cruisers then yes, they are the same class (of the ships). But if you mean as a cruiser class, then no they are not the same class. Perth is modify Leander class while Mysore is modernized Crown Colony (or if you prefer Fiji) class cruiser. Perth has 4x2 gun layout, while Mysore has 3x3 arrangement. Why is added? For Indian market/playerbase, as promised last year.

WG, you better do something about Siegfried and Flint

Here and there you can get some for doubloons indirectly. Like for example early buying ships from Dockyard. Or just buying T8 and T9 premium ships and waiting for a NY. -
Balkan Line Destroyers in European Tech Tree
fumtu replied to Andrejevic_'s topic in General Discussion
Jutland A hull, is representing an original concept of the Battle class, with three turrets, two twin forward and one single behind funnel. This single gun was removed on later versions, there are the plans for several ships to have a third twin turret on Y position as it is represented in the game. So Jutland B hull is not historically correct but it is based on historical design. Of ourse it was added for consitency Actualy this is wrong. Anshan did had torpedo launchers which were later replaced with anti-ship missiles. Anshan in the game is historically correct. Huanghe "modernization" is completely WG imagination. Original modernization is considering four twin 130mm turrets, instead of 6inch ones, and without those 100mm dual purpose mounts but only light AA guns instead. Of course WG could do thing for the sake of the game. But this would be just taking US ww2 ships and putting a Greece flag on it, while those ships have nothing with the ships that actually served in the Greece Navy but they original hulls. Putting Doxa on T9 even in its ww2 form is questionable, especially as there are better choices. For example, YY is Allen M Sumner class destroyer, just as proposed Miaoulis. YY is represent with original class form, with the open bridge. First batches of Allen M Sumner class had this kind of bridge, but all those build later got closed bridge. All those with open bridge, one of which was a Hsiang Yang (later renamed to YY), also got closed bridge later. So when it was sold to RoC Navy, it was still very similar to its original form. Yes, it should look somewhat different with "upgraded" bridge and one torpedo launcher replaced with additional quad Bofors. But it was not modernized to FRAM II program before transfer, unlike to Miaoulis which is, before it joined Greek Navy. Sure WG could use original form for Miaoulis but IMO that would be wrong. Especially if they don't need to do that.- 32 replies

Balkan Line Destroyers in European Tech Tree
fumtu replied to Andrejevic_'s topic in General Discussion
If it is premium, maybe (big maybe) WG could create one ship with separate configuration. But than that would require balancing two ships in one as they were completely different configurations. So realistically, you can only get it as two separate versions. It is easy to balance one ship, like Friesland, than to make same play style for the whole line. Doxa cold not be a T9 ship. Take Hsyenyang, which is already a meh ship, remove all torps, and put it one tier higher. Friesland is much bigger ship, and its guns have much higher RoF. And without Doxa at T9, putting a torpedoless Allen M Sumner at T10 makes no sense. Mark 44 is anti submarine torpedo.- 32 replies

Balkan Line Destroyers in European Tech Tree
fumtu replied to Andrejevic_'s topic in General Discussion
First if ever there was a Balkan line, it probably would not start at T2, as at T2 there is already a destroyer generally from that area, Tatra. So T3 should be the lowest but considering that this is a WG it would probably start at T5. Second, both top tier ships are problematic. I guess you put them there based on their configuration during ww2. But when Greece received them, both ships were far from their original form. For example Doxa, compared to original USS Ludlow, lost one gun and BOTH sets of torps. So it basically only had 4 guns. Miaoulis, by the time it entered Greek Navy was already modernized under FRAM II program which means, while it kept all three gun turrets, it too lost both sets of torps. So both T9 and T10, should not have a single torp. Not to mention a problem that Doxa is for some reason at T9 and above Split, which was a bigger ship. At least going from Split at T9, post war configuration of course, to Sfendoni at T10 would have much more sense. But that would require some really good gimmick(s) as it would not just mean putting a Fletcher at T10, but also a Fletcher with just one set of torps. But at least there will be some consistency at T9 and T10. And on T8 you can put a Turkish (Bristol class) DD Gaziantep, which at that time had 4 guns and also, just like Split and Sfendoni, one quintuple torpedo launcher. So there would be a nice progress but still quite questionable as all of those ships should actually be a tier lower and would need really some extra to make them viable on T8-T10, like really good heal for example.- 32 replies

Considering that 27mm is only bow and stern while the complete central section, with exception of superstructure which could be penetrated without IFHE, is 30mm, IFHE does seems too much for too little. You are loosing a significant portion of the fire chance which you could not get back by other skills.
-
Really? Where did they said that? I'm sorry to disappoint you but ALL special ships could be nerfed, no matter when they are added to the game. In fact Smolensk is already nerfed when, during the IFHE rework, its 30mm deck and upper belt were replaced with 16mm plating. Again, I have to disappoint you. WG DON'T WANT to nerf premiums but that doesn't mean that they would not change them at all. All general changes are affecting all ships no matter what kind they are or when they are added. Just like Atlanta was affected by CV rework, or Blyska by removal of stealth fire, or already mentioned IFHE rework when many premium ships had their armour adjusted. The only guarantee is that WG can do whatever they want and everything could/would change as the game getting older.
-
You know that Smolensk is already changed since it is released, right? Just like some other premiums before it. What? Not a single ship in the game is guaranteed that it would not be nerfed, or affected by changes in the game. Also technically this is not a direct nerf to any ship. Not a single parameter on the Smolensk (ship itself) changed from 0.9.12 to 0.10.0. It captain did. So technically WG didn't nerf Smolensk. It is just affected by captain changes, just like every other ship in the game. If WG decide that it is affected to much they could easily buff it in some why. But I am really glad that stupid 19km range is gone, at least for now. It could return someday, who knows (and I really hope it won't,).

F(*ck) Smolensk. Only good thing in the whole Captain Skill rework.

More is less (the upcoming Commander Skills Update 19 -> 21 points - most current "reference" builds will simply cost more in new system for same functionality and will deplete great deal of resources and cause months / years of unnecessary grind)!
fumtu replied to Leo_Apollo11's topic in General Discussion
His favouite ship is a Smolensk and he is complaining about loss of 3km of range? Somehow I don't feel sorry for him. -
IMO, it is actually just a fixing mistake and bringing the deck armour on its historical value, as deck armour was 2 inch thick. I doubt it is intended as CV buff because, if I'm not wrong, even 38mm was already enough to arm T6 and T8 AP bombs. The only part of the Fiji deck that could arm AP bombs, would still be able to arm AP bombs. Only significant difference is that this part of the deck will no longer be pen by German 150mm guns but as this is really a small part of the deck and ship overall it will have minimal effect on anything.
-
They are not
-
I guess WG don't want to allow players to switch 40k of coal for 4k doubloons.
-
It is only the small part of the deck (Auxiliary Room Armour) and going from 38mm to 51mm is this case is not a big deal actually. It is a Tech Tree ship. How about you actually put some effort and grind it yourself instead of asking WG to do your job.

In DevBlog they said that hybrids will be a new class. But if they changed that than there is an answer about Captain skills when those ships arrive. Anyway, pointless to worry about them now,
-
Hybrid ships will be a new class, so when and if WG release them they will get their own set of captain skill, just like current CVs and BBs and the rest are getting. So don't worry about them.

Compared to CLs/CAs, it has much better concealment which means it could dictate engagement. So it could get the best possible angle and position to engage and due very good dispersion/shell velocity, it could deal multiple citadels on it before target starts to react. Its alpha is quite high for a DD and with two to three salvos it could technically destroy any cruisers but SC. Of course that depending on the AP pen which I mentioned earlier. So calling it a trash before all things are known is pointless. Sure there are many issues but not everything is bad. IMO it would be nice for it to have a speed boost similar to the one that Smaland and Yolo Emilio have, short duration but with better increase of the speed so that they could engage and disengage when opportunity arise. There is a lot of other things that could be balanced, like somewhat better reload, more damage on torps or just much faster torps. Just like the rest I can just complain about bad things, but that doesn't mean that all is bad. As I said, I see potential for it as there are some good things. And these are only initial stats. Just look how much changes French DDs had during the testing and how many called it dead on arrival and yet they ended being quite good, some of them even to good. So lot of things could and would change. We can only hope that they would change for better. It is not that bad either. It is much better than Kleber or Soviet ones. Give it good tools and they could be quite decent. Not all DDs need to have concealment of 6km or lower.
