New ships Part Deux with Flamu
fumtu replied to OldschoolGaming_YouTube's topic in General Discussion
Well yes you can indirectly "buy" some steel from Dockyard but how much and how often. To get a T10 premium just by this way will take you quite some time. Same for FXP/doubloons exchange. For 2mil even with the best exchange rate of 1/35 it will cost like 160-170 Euros if I'm not wrong. And you still need to have enough Elite XP to be able to convert it to FXP which means you need to invest some time in playing the game. So indirectly there are ways to "convert" money in some of WG in game resources/currencies but it is not cheep and not fast, and would require some actual playing the game. At least not nearly as fast was as putting APR Yamato directly in the shop or being able to finish PR dockyard with like 50k doubloons or more. -
New Orleans have low quality/cheap textures of gun turrets

Now that you mentioned old models, can you please check does anybody knows what happened with updating models of the US DDs? In one of the last year Q&A sessions it was mentioned that WG is working on updating the models for US DDs and that number of them are almost done and the rest are in the progress but there was no news since than. Are you still working on it, any news on the progress? -

I'm not saying that PR is not sold for money, as it is, but I'm saying that it is exception from all other T10 premiums, except ARP Yamato of course. PR was introduced via dockyard unlike majority of T10 premiums which appeared in the Armoury instead. I guess that any future T10 premium which would be added via dockyard would also be available for money. But it doesn't mean that every T10 premium will be available for money. Sure this is WG we are talking about so they could but for now they aren't. The only two that are were quite specific so they can't be used as a rule. -

Only T10 cruiser available for money was the one which was in the dockyard event, PR, other one, a BB, available for money was from collaboration. None of those two was available for any other currency or in Armoury, at least for now. So both are more exception than practice so there is a hope that in general T10 premiums would not be sold for money. -

Are you sure about that? -
No we don't. Wiemar would probably be just for doubloons as basically (almost) every other T7 premium. Vampires could be available for basically any of game currencies but even if it was for FXP, I don't see why would it cost more then 2mil as other two T10 FXP ships are/were.

We need a premium Baltimore or Oregon City class CA for T9
fumtu replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
Not everyone wants the same things? Shocking. And you just described majority of premiums ships. Fast firing? Oregon City had same guns as Baltimore, which were not the same as DM. Baltimore guns have good reload but they are not actually a fast firing guns. WTF? You know you can play Buffalo on the same way as Balti. Sure, not always the most effective way as bow in you only use half of your guns. Also Balti-like premium? You just described every US premium CA, so Oregon City without gimmicks would be .... well just the same things as Salem or Wichita. Yes I guess a lot of people would be really exited about this. Also what is your point here? Can Oregon City be T9 premium? Yes. Can Oregon City be T8 premium? Yes. Can Oregon City be some other tier premium? Well as we are talking about WG answer is yes. Is it question can Oregon City be a premium theme of this thread? No it is not. Did I ever said that Oregon City could not be a premium? No I did not. And finally do we need T9 US CA premium which will have same gamestyle as the US tech tree CA as every US premium CA on the other tier? No we don't. Sure it would be nice to have T9 US premium but not because someone think that Buffalo is not good enough for him. -

We need a premium Baltimore or Oregon City class CA for T9
fumtu replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
Not every ships is for everyone. There is nothing wrong with Buffalo, some might like it some might not. But that doesn't mean that it is bad or that people can't have fun in it. Ok, but then you lost me this ... I don't understand why would anyone compere a stock hull with full premium ship. Why would anyone play stock Buffalo if he doesn't have to. Buffalo is balanced about fully upgraded ship, not stock hull so using stock hull as a comparation to anything is pointless. Did I ever said that Oregon City could not be a T9 premium? Let me quote myself Which is true, WG could put any gimmick on it if they want to, hell they can even put Torpedo Reload Booster just for trolling. But that also mean as a premium its playstyle doesn't need to represent tech tree US CAs in any way, WG could find something completely different way to make it more appealing to players. So there is a chance that some would not like what they get as it would not be what they wanted this ship to be. But that is completely irrelevant as, for the last time, I not arguing COULD Oregon City be T9 premium or not. So once more ... -

fumtu replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
First I like Buffalo so saying that "no-one enthuse about it" is not true. If you or some other don't like it it doesn't mean no-one is like it. If you have numbers than show them, if not than don't use that argument. Second, Oregon City as a premium or as a regular ships? As a premium WG can do with it whatever they want and put it on every tier they want. As a regular ship they can't do that. They can't put more consumables or different consumables just for one ship in the line. And Oregon City is not that "improved" compared to Baltimore. In RL it was, mostly in AA department as new superstructure provide less obstacle for AA guns. But for game this mean nothing. It is a same hull with a same guns with same AA (maybe slight difference in 20mm but nothing important), same displacement .... So basically a same ship as a Baltimore. So game-wise it is not improvement at all. Third, as I said it would be nice to have T9 US CA premium, but we don't need it, especially for reason OP stated in the first post. This is not proposal for premium, this is arguing that we need to either replace Buffalo or we must get premium US CA because someone don't like Buffalo. Which is ridicules as Buffalo is fine ship. If there is any issue with it, WG could just buff it. Will we get T9 premium US CA or not should not depend on the state of the T9 Buffalo or does someone like it or not. -

US CA line is pretty solid line and T9 Buffalo is a nice ship if played properly. There is a big difference between Buffalo project and Baltimore/Oregone City class. Buffalo is substantial bigger class which is reflecting on its HP pool. And of course more heavily armed. Buffalo has much more sense as a progression ship from Baltimore to DM than Oregon Class would have be. -
Well, according to the article Zerstörer 1942C and Zerstörer 1944 are the same ship so it is just difference in the naming convention. Technically they are not wrong but it would probably be better if they used Zerstörer 1944 as project origin instead as, at the bottom of the page, there is even a link for Wikipedia article about Zerstörer 1944.

Why you put Salem as it is a sister ship of the DM and of course it would have same gun layout? Also if you are putting Salem than you need to put Anchorage too on the other side. And I believe that @NikolayKuznetsov was talking about tech tree ships only. Also not sure why would all US CAs need to have same gun layout, why is that so important. -
We need a premium Baltimore or Oregon City class CA for T9
fumtu replied to Yedwy's topic in General Discussion
See, they are all equal there. Out of all nations I US is not the one that is desperate for new premium. Also I think Buffalo is just fine as it is. Sure it would be nice to have but there is no need for one as there are others available. Sure they can't be used in T9 CBs but still. And with time we will probably get some. But you might not like what you get. Oregon City could be T9 premium but it could as easily be a T8, as basically it is a Baltimore class with somewhat different superstructure. And WG could as easily use some preliminary design instead as that gives them more chance to slap some stupid gimmick on it. -

Is there a need to be a premium T9 US CA? You have T10, T8, T7 ... Alaska is T9 but just removed .... so why there should be T9 premium CA? It is not like you need to have a premium US CA at every tier. There is no T9 US CL either. RN also doesn't have a premium T9 CA or CL, not even removed. I mean it would be nice to get it but there is no need for one, especially as there is a plenty of US premiums. -
And? Some ships were available only for money and now are available for in game resources? Why would WG have different policy for them then. Flint current state should be addressed. Flint compensation for steel? There is no reason why would WG address it now or any time in the future, especially as WG already addressed this last year when they actually switched currency requirement for Flint. If they didn't want to compensate it then why do you think they will do it now?
-
Why would WG compensate you with anything for Flint? Because it was a steel ship and now available for coal? So? WG will just simply say that by buying it for steel you have advantage playing her much longer than those who bought it for coal. Which is, in the end, true. Considering WG conversion rate between steel and coal (1 steel = 10 coal, no opposite conversion is possible of course) you even get it cheaper than those who needed to spend coal on it. Also imagine all those poor people who bought Blyska or Anshan for money before those ships were sold in armory for coal? Should they be able to get some real money back because they spent not easily obtainable RL currency for the ship? Probably. Would WG compensate them for that? You can bet that they won't. Because is was powercrept by other ships? Imagine if anyone ask they money/resources back because they ships is, or they just think it is, now less powerful than when they bought it. And if ship is really bad now WG could easily buff he ship why would they give you anything as compensation. Thing is if WG accept that ship is now in bad state, why would they compensate you or anyone else for it when they can simply buff the ship? If WG is thinking that ship is now in the good place why would they compensate you with anything if, by them, it is good? Yea, hindsight in 20/20. In hindsight lot of people would not even play this game if they knew what it will become.

T-22 a DD hunter? Why do you think that current progression of German DDs or Frach BBs in not smooth? You can forget on these Hull A and Hull B with different values for hydro and concealment. WG is not doing that anymore. Also why just not buff current T9 and T10 with better reload or something else. Why would WG do all this instead? IMO, there is no need for German DDs, and generally there is little chance that WG would do this in near future. For them that would be a waste of time and resources because they are not gaining anything from it. They would need to create a new model which would basically everyone have from the start as this is just downtiering current line and replacing T10 with a new one. So ... not very likely to happen. If they want, WG could just buff current DDs if they think that there is a need for it.
-
And how many ships or captains you can buy with 700k of coal? As I said he probably has nice stash on his main account as he didn't need ti use them to buy ships, but it is still not inexhaustible. And he can't buy every ships with doubloons, like T10 premiums. At least not yet.
-
Don't expect Flamu's reviews on new resources ships as often as he is no longer CC and would now need to buy them to make a review. He probably have a decent amount of steel and coal on his main account, but as he, currently, is not playing CBs or Ranked his stash would be spent quite quickly if he wants to review every now resource ship. Lot of people are talking about them, but having bad secondaries is not nearly as important as having a bad main guns.

You are full of double standards, aren't you. Well US also have reasonably priced California, Sims, Boise, Atlanta and Indianapolis, all T7, not to mention even more reasonable priced Arizona, W. Virginia or Monaghan at T6. But I guess what is good for RN is not good enough for the US.
