Sorry, I'm not sure that I understand what you saying. Do you mean what they should get in your opinion or what they would get after the split? If you have T9 Kagero you will get Yugumo at T9 and Kagero at T8. If you also have Fubuki you'll get new Fubuki at T6 and probably compensation in credits for a price of T8 Fubuki. You can't get Akizuki free, you have to grind it through Shiratsuyu and probably new Hatsuharu (this one is not clear to me so I not 100% sure about this) because, while you maybe own or owned Hatsuharu its progress, xp and all upgrades, will stay with torpedo line ship (Akatsuki).

No, instead of Hatsuharu you are getting what is new T7 dd in the classic/regular/torpedo of whatever now they call the line that lead to Shimakaze and that would be Akatsuki. So called gunboat line is a new branch which you have to research from the start, unless you already researched some ships like Minekaze or Hatsuharu than you'll have to research just two new ships in line, Shiratsuyu and Akizuki.

Yea, comparing with Akatsuki, Shiratsuyu will have same guns, with same RoF, same turret traverse but a bit longer range. And that range increase could mean a lot, because Shiratsuyu have better concealment and will have larger margin for stealth firing, and for that you don't need some great speed. But it would probably be better torpedo-boat than gunboat. Still think that grinding Shiratsuyu would be less painful than Akatsuki.

I think that is just attempt to sell new IJN to players. And he said that "some of them are gonna bee more gunboat like, some of them are gone like survive better in knight-fights", and that could mean just Akizuki or maybe Shiratsuyu (with its fast torp spam).

Hi StuntMan. Just watched your last video (with Yuzral). Keep with good job Yes, TBS and better range on guns, which will provide larger margin for stealth fire, could make Shiratsuyu a decent destroyer. Maybe not the best at T7 but probably one of the best among IJN dds. Wonder how long will took WG till they nerf it .

Statistic for new ships from Gamemodels3d. Video is on Russian (I think) and doesn't show much (if anything) new. But if shows Akizuki and Shiratsuyu with TRB on separate slot but also that Kagero (and probably Yugumo) keep its TRB on the same slot with smoke, which mean almost nobody will use it Also in his latest video Notser spoke a little about IJN dds, among some other things. He didn't sound to much enthusiastic about "regular" branch but seems that it's a little excited about "gunboat" branch which could give some hope for Shiratsuyu and Akizuki

Q and V class destroyers very almost the same. So I guess one of them could end as a premium for RCN or RAN. RAN could get old V class as a premium at lower tiers. I don't see any reason for more premium or regular Wickes/Clemsons as they will basically be same as Campbeltown. N class was used by three navies, RAN, Polish and Dutch so one of them could get it as a premium. There is also another possibility there. During the war the Royal Indian Navy operated number of smaller ships like frigates, sloops and corvettes. Some of them could be used at the lower tiers.

Except three Tribal class and 5 N class destroyers RAN also used 5 older V class destroyers and before the end of the war it get 5 Q class destroyers from RN. RCN get two new V class destroyers during the war, but also several Wickes and Clemson class destroyers were transfered from RN RNZN didn't have under its command any fleet destroyers.

What is a source for this. Gamemodels3d give for Yayoi's torps range of 10km. Even more interesting according to same site Shinonome now have 8km torps (mistake?).

On wows-numbers, if you click on Akizuki Hull B upgrade it will raise it gun range to 11.something km and then width upgraded gun control to 12.5km. Probably bug on wows-number site.

Another video of Shiratsuyu on Reddit Looks like it also use that test 5-10 seconds TRB. I think that 30s is more realistic option but still ... I definitely want the faster one

Yes EM drop turret rotations speed to 21ish second by my first pick of L2 skills for dds (except Gnevny) is always LS. In leaked unofficial captain skill tree you can have both EM and LS plus CE in just 12 points which is nice.

Yes with 2100 HE Shiratsuyu just might kill Blyskawica. But it didn't have much chance against both Blyskawica and Nurmberg as he was totally unsupported and didn't have speed to get away. It is noticeable how slow turret rotation on IJN dds is. At 1:44 Shiratsuyu fired its A mount over its left side as started turning on the right. He made two small evasion manoeuvres to the left before totally committed to the right turn. Every time Blyskawica zoomed in you can see how slow his front turret rotate and he used it again only 52s later (2:36). All this time he was able to use only his rear turret guns as X mount also needed to rotate in opposing direction. Wonder how long he would stand against US or SU dd there.

Yes that would be good. Till then maybe this could be interesting - duel between Blyskawica and Shiratsuyu. Note that Shiratsuyu is using SE which bump up its hp to 15600.

Yes but starting from T6 Soviet get more persuasive guards and turret rotation speed starting to increase. I don't expect much from this change. Yes generally there will be improvements for majority of tiers and some of new ships might shine especially in good hands but question is will that make them competitive with other DDs. They increase RoF but nerfed HE damage while keeping that horrible turret rotation. Just like before you'll be able to do some nice damage thanks to good arcs and good dispersion on longer range (7-10km) but at close range you'll be no match for US or Soviet DDs. I don't think that IJN DDs will lose to much because of removing what left of those long lance torpedoes which were already quite nerfed in previous patches. But seems that those that will left are not getting any buffs. IJN torps are dealing lot of damage and always when somebody complain about bad performance WG's stuff use this as a excuse to do nothing. But now when all (mid and high level) cruisers have hydro plus some BBs and seems some future DDs too, when number of ships with radar have increased, additional rudder shift slots and some other tools/skills those torps, with the longest detection range among all ship carried torps in the game, doesn't provide same success as before. If they are planing to release these DDs in the next patch there isn't left much time for some large changes but I hope that they will in the end give us better balanced ships.

Well those 2k-3k salvos won't be such common thing once IJN HE get nerfed. You will be able to deal USN dds as much damage as they will be able to you. You may have some advantage over longer distance due better accuracy but once/if they closed in advantage is on their side because of better maneuverability, faster turret rotation and better RoF.

Wait what ... I didn't see any mention of change to Mutsuki or Minekaze detection range. So what are the changes?

Farragut have speed of 36.5kn. That's not much faster then Fubuki and its on par with Hatsuharu. Farragut is just far more maneuverable than Fubuki while Hatsu would be second best at T6 (very close to current Mutsuki but 1kn slower, 40m larger turning radius but 0.9s faster rudder shift time). And Mutsuki with four guns but with 12s reload time is also bad.
