https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/updates/update-074/ Hope this mean we will see soon some videos as I expect CC will get them too.

While it is true that current version of T8 Cleveland has some limitations especially in T10 games she seems strong against DDs. And latest changes considering hydro and RoF will just make her even stronger in that role. With all those consumables US CL line, at least T8-T10 will probably be the best (non DD) line to fight DDs. It is hard to expect that she will perform as good at T8 as she was at T6, naturally she will suffer in T8 MM just as all other cruisers from the same tier. First version was lacking and we still have to see the new one, I hope that with latest changes she will be better fitting at T8.
-
She also got hydro on separate slot and radar is moved to the same spot with spotter plane. I think that CCs still have old version, well at least Flamu did have it at Friday. With update 0.7.4. I expect that CCs get the rest of CL line.

CCT Summit 2018: Some juicy news from St. Petersburg
fumtu replied to Hayashio's topic in General Discussion
You can expect the same from me if you are right -
If I decide to play ranked I would use this ship T8: Loyang Chapy (if I decide to play cruisers) Mogami (if I decide to play cruisers) Edinburgh (with radar again only if I decide to play cruisers) T10: YY Z-52 Don't know if this optimal choice but this is the best I currently have. YY and Z-52 are my only two T10 ship so no much choice there.

You wish she is a bogatyr/oleg. By LWM's review she looks more like pos http://shipcomrade.com/news/409/phoning-this-one-in.html

CCT Summit 2018: Some juicy news from St. Petersburg

Akizuki already has a "Flavour" - smoke and TRB on separate slots. They don't need more than that. IJN DDs are not the only one without DAA - German, PA and main Soviet line (destroyer leaders if I'm not wrong) also don't have it. High tier German and PA DDs have decent AA but without DAA it is not nearly as strong as with DAA. You could say same for Akizuki and probably for Kitakaze and Haragumo. They (would) have strong AA, great if you have full AA build, but without DAA you can't really prevent CV to drop on you. Every request so far for DAA on Akizuki on reddit and forum was dismissed by WG staff. I don't say that this can't change but I don't see anything that will suggest that alternate IJN DD line will get DAA. -

Well you'll get perma camo for T6 Pensacola too. And you'll have a backup if you don't like this one. Upper ship is Cleveland. Two stacks and 152mm guns. DM has only one stack. This camo seems more similar to French ones for T8+, you know the ones with giant c*** on bow. -

On the other hand "No personnel casualties occurred as the result of enemy action while operating as Task Force THIRTY-FOUR." If new operation set in Solomons have any connection with new unique captain than choice of Halsey have sense as Guadalcanal campaign was his "finest hour". -

Why do you think that two IJN DDs will get DAA. They'll probably have strong AA if you spec for it, just like Akizuki, but I doubt they will ever get DAA. WG consistently refuse to add DAA to Akizuki. -
Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
fumtu replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
Well seems you are using a stats from wows number which give stats for whole period in the game. If you look stats for last two or three weeks you'll see that Midway deals more damage than Hakuryu, on some servers quite more damage -
Watching Twitch and Videos on Youtube and reading some CCs posts on Reddit so far seem like: Salt Lake City (T6 Pensacola) is (very) good ship at T6. Pittsburgh (T8 Baltimore) is good at T8. Buffalo (new T9) is very good and quite fun ship at T9. On the other hand Columbia (T8 Cleveland) so far looks "meh" at T8. She seems good in fighting DDs but meh in other things mostly because of short range and shell arcs. Especially in T10 matches she looks quite lacking.

And is Mutsuki a good boat? Mutsuki power lies in torps not guns and she still have twice as many as USS Samuel B. Roberts. With just two guns she is anemic and in 1v1 combat she is a dead ship. Two guns at T4 is ridicules. Fact that Mutsuki also have two guns doesn't make it a good idea it just show how Mutsuki is underwhelming in gun department. If one of your guns get incapacitated you have lost 50% of gun power, if one of your torpedo launchers get incapacitated you have lost 100% of you torps. Sorry but you can't fit it at T4. At T2 she would have serious problems. Smith and Tachibana will eat it. Two guns are simple not enough. Try playing Campbeltown and imagine that your two guns are even more spaced. And with only half of Campeltown torp potential?
-
With just two guns she could have rate of fire of 20 rpm but that are still only two guns in single mounts. Tachibana and Smith would eat it at T2, hell she will struggle against any silver T2 dd. Image what would Clemson do it at T4. And only three torps at T4? You can give her Gearing of Fletcher torps it still wouldn't matter. Vampire with two more guns and same amount of torps is T3 ship. She simple lack gun power, torp power or speed to be good.
-
USS Samuel B Roberts armament is worse than some T2 DDs. I don't see how this ship could be T2 premium, T4 is way to high for it. Sorry but T2 is the highest this ship can reach. My wishlist 1. Any Brooklyn class cruiser under US three. It doesn't matter is that a Boise, Nashville, Honolulu or Savannah as long as it is an US ship 2. Any Dido class cruiser. Preferable in 5x2 configuration. Again it doesn't matter which one just to be added as a RN ship 3. Any US or RN destroyer as long as it is in historical configuration 4. Any other nation DD as long as it is interesting to me.

For that WG needs to put it on T9. Imagine 13.7km range at T10

Well two ships of Hatsuharu class were finished before all class was reworked to form which we have in the game, Hatsuharu and Nenohi. So if you want Hatsuharu in its origin design you could add Nenohi, no need to choose some random ship from a class. Hatsu (Origin) could work at T7 but it should have worse concealment than Akatsuki as it has bigger bridge than Fubuki/Akatsuki class.

So basically you hope for a way better Kagero then. If Asashio ever trade DW torps for normal T8 10km torps she would be same as Kagero with worse AA but with smoke and TRB on the separate slots. Why would she need a gun buff?
-
Doubt that WG will shelve it after so much effort and can see that a lot of people will buy it just because of its reputation of "fun" ship. And many will probably have a lot of fun with it but those on the other side could end up quite frustrated. I think that this is a bad design and ship in the current state don't bring anything good to the game. Seems like when WG get some super crazy idea they are ready to push through with it no matter of the community of CCs feedback. Just like GZ or Belfast of Black or Flint or ... I don't understand how anybody can think that introduction of 20km-fast-stealthy-hard hitting torps that can hit only BBs and Cvs could think it as a good idea. I hope that Asashio will never be sold in this state but probably it will and I don't have any intention to spend my money on it.

Honestly I'm not too much happy with another 9.9km radar at T7 either. Half of all my games were played with DDs. I don't like this "Oh I'm spotted? Ok I'll press my radar button and see who is spotting me". But I don't have a problem with radar implementations like Indi or Atlanta. I could spot them lot before they could use their radar. I wouldn't mind standard T7 8.5km radar for Boise tho. Or if WG wants to keep 9.9km radar at least bring Boise concealment to 10.5km or something like that so that dd has some, even limited, time to react before being spotted by radar. Unfortunately radar is reality at T7 and with new premiums there is possibility to see it more and more present at lower tiers. But in the case of Boise, she sacrifice a lot for that radar, maybe even too much. I personally would like to keep RoF maybe even range, but bring her maneuverability to Helena level and, if she keep 9.9km radar, increase concealment or give her 8.5km radar. But let's wait for firsts CCs videos before final judgment how good she would be.

With radar on premium ships like Belfast, Indianapolis and Atlanta, removing radar from T7 is not an option. Also don't see problems with Indianapolis or Atlanta radar. Problem is Belfast with radar plus smoke combo. Boise is definitely nowhere near as powerful as Belfast. For 25sec duration of radar Boise can shoot two salvos, three salvos at best. She is also lacking the Belfast RoF, range and maneuverability. Boise, unless unreasonably buffed especially in DPM department, won't have nearly as much impact as Belfast. I agree that idea of having radar at T7 only on premium ships is not good. NO would probably be better choice for "regular" radar at T7 than let say Fiji and Helena (with 8.5sec reload) as NO has less DPM than those two ships and would be somewhat less harmful for DDs. WG could at least test that and see what impact would NO with radar at T7 have on game balance.

Well currently compared to Helena, Boise looks underwhelming. My guess is that WG will first test Helena and then decide what to do with Boise. Helena looks as really good/strong ship as if she get in the game in the current state than I think WG could increase Boise speed to 32.5km as she had historically and give her the same turning radius as Helena. As compensation for that 9.9km radar Boise should keep slower reload of 10sec and maybe shorter range but at least increase it to 14 - 14.2 km. I think that would be enough. But if current Helena perform to good and needed to be nerfed than it is questionable what should WG do with Boise, or how to balance her to not make her better ship with radar. Still hope there will be US version of this premium ship. One thing, in his video about Helena, @StuntMan9630 give Helena mid range as 4x4 and 4x2 40 mm Bofors. Don't know from where he get this info as original Facebook post didn't mentioned quadruple mounts.

Helena now has nice turret arcs. But first three turrets has worse layout than Mogami. For example if you need to switch target from front left to front right in 90 degree angle without changing course all three Mogami turrets will do this in 18sec, without any captain skill or upgrade. On the other side front two turrets of Helena will do this in 11.25sec but third turret needs to rotate 270 degree and will get in position in 33.75sec.
-
Ship is not just a count of guns. Mogami, unlike Helena, has 4 quadruple torpedo launchers, two on each side. It is like having a Shiratusuyu strapped on each side. Now torpedo angles were not great but having that much torps gives Mogami a quite a punch. Helena only rely for damage on her guns. She is also currently in the ST so it is questionable will she keep that 8.5sec reload in her final form. Why is she at T7? Historic progression probably plus some other things. Brooklyn class came before Cleveland class. Many expected to see Brooklyn's at T8, and I still hope that we will one day see Savannah in her final form there but I honestly I doubt that would happen.
