What happens when Baltimore get's bumped down to T8?
fumtu replied to Hannibalurg's topic in General Discussion
Solution B would be better option for you, sure. If you have all US cruisers from T6 to T9 you should get credit value for double Pensacola and credits for price of gun upgrades for every US cruiser you have, if those upgrades were purchased. So you can get couple of millions just from that. I never demount upgrades, just sell them and buy for new ship. But than again I have over 360 million credits so I don't have "money" issues -

After 0.7.5. all upgrades on every US cruiser from T6 to T9 should be demounted and put in you inventory. So you won't to pay anything for demounting/mounting them again by yourself unless you want to replace with some other upgrade. All upgrades you bought will be available in your inventory. -

There is no definite announcement but what you can expect is this: 0.7.5 will probably arrive next thursday and with it a reshuffle of CAs and move of Cleveland to single ship CL branch. 0.7.6 should bring the rest of CLs - Dallas, Helena, Seattle and Worcester After 0.7.5 you'll be able to play Cleveland and collect XP but until 0.7.6 you won't be able to research or buy T9 Seattle. Same for Omaha > Dallas grind. If you are trying to to research DM, after 0.7.5 you'll have to finish the rest of the grind using Buffalo but your progress will be kept. So no worries there, in fact, I not 100% sure, you'll get a boost as new Buffalo don't have gun upgrade and those 27k XP you spent to research gun upgrade for Baltimore should be added to total progress toward DM. At list this is how it should be done. -

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"

Seems WG is changing this and trying to do more theme oriented releases. French BBs were released over two updates but they came up with dedicated campaign. Seems like they will do the same with US cruiser split. Me too. Cleveland is/was the best ship for operations, good HP, great DPM and great AA, it it would be really hard to replace it. Dallas will be weaker then Cleveland for sure but it still could work for operations. But I'd used Budy, La Gasoline and Nurn in operation and all of them are good, not as good as Cleveland, but decent. My personal choice will be La Gasoline simple because of AA but in some ops Budy is really good especially in those where you meet a lot of cruisers. If these are your current captain skills - PT, PM, AR, DE, CE, IFHE, AFT - you don't need to respec. These are good skills for Atlanta, they will fit nicely with both Dallas and Helena and it could work on new Cleveland too. Only change for new Cleveland would be SE instead of DE, but if you don't mind having only 3 radars, hydros and DAA than DE will work just fine. At least you don't need to respec right away after update. My Cleveland captain have same skill and after split I will transfer him to Helena which will be a great ship for T7 operations. I don't think that is currently possible and captain need to be assigned to something. I guess that WG could do that but that will probably require programming and I doubt that WG will waste time for that with all other things they are doing. -
I know, I was saying that B hull is not historical but WG fiction upgrade and that I prefer Farragut with 5 guns to Monaghan historical A hull with just 4. Maybe my sentence wasn't formulated correctly.

Except Dallas won't be available after 0.7.5 update. Look it like this. We currently have one US cruisers line which will be split into main line and sub-line. Main line will be CAs while sub-line will be CLs. Currently Cleveland is T6 on the main line. After split Cleveland will be moved to sub-line and instead of her you are getting new T6 in the main line. This how every split worked so far. You are getting new ship in sub-line only if you have particular ship in the main line which is moved to sub-line. -
Nice review but I definitely won't buy it. I prefer Farragut 5 guns to Monaghan A hull and B hull is so repulsive to me as totally unhistorical. There were so many classes between Farragut at T6 and Benson at T8, and many of them had some additional choices due wartime modification. Yet WG decided to choose Monaghan with totally fictional B hull. It may be good but I don't like idea behind it.

I never saw much use of EM on Cleveland. Unless you are using John Doe you won't gain much little over 3sec faster turrets and they were still quite slow. It was my early choice but after first chance for free respec of captain I changed it for AR which is way better choice. PT, AR, DE, CE, IFHE, AFT and PM in that order are my choice for current T6 Cleveland and they fit nicely with Atlanta. After split I will transfer this captain on Helena and build a new captain for T8 Cleveland with PT, AR, SE, CE, IFHE, AFT and PM. This should work on all T8-T10 US CLs and still be usable for Atlanta (of Flint if you have it). 190k should be enough for respec of captain skills. If you want to move captain on different ship you have to pay (doubloons or elite xp) by yourself. I think this is fair. -

Well LWM mentioned that it is a looooong way before we see Thunderer in the game. It is not even on the test server yet. -
Mejash review of Boise Even though that she get a lot of nerfs comparing with Helena for radar, 15 guns and 9.9km radar give her lot of potential. Still thinking that range is to short and that she would get her historical speed. That MS-33/21D, which was used by USS Nashville looks absolutely beautiful
-
Well I would like to see Savannah in the game. I though could be a nice alternative to Cleveland at T8. More guns with slower RoF (maybe 7.5 to 8sec reload), worse AA, less HP, but maybe better torpedo protection as she also received torpedo bulges during her rebuild. She could be a nice T8 premium if balanced properly but she could end up much better ship with Helena with only worse MM for compensation. At T7 it would be problem to balance her compared to Helena and Boise. Maybe 8.5km radar or some other consumable? Still would like Boise as US premium ship at T7 more than NdJ. I'm not to enthusiastic about training another captain from scratch while not having a regular tree. Also Boise had quite distinguished carrier as an US cruiser.

LittleWhiteMouse review of new US cruisers http://shipcomrade.com/news/424/who-needs-torpedoes.html Also according to image of Seattle, her premium camo will be MS-32/7D, same one used by Indianapolis in the game

I don't understand how it would make more sense from a business side to have separate trees. It would have more sense to have one major three, with maybe several subbranches, with number of premium ships for every nation. Creating a tree for a single nation will require a lot of resources and research. Especially if that nation doesn't have enough suitable ships and lot of paper designs need to be used. And if many of those trees use same ships at the high level , like Fletcher and Gearing, it could result that in the end only small percentage of playerbase will choose to play them, mostly those from specific countries. If you have one Gearing, you'll maybe grind to get another one but more than that is questionable. Also it will require more ships to fill regular tree for every nation which will leave limited number of them for premiums. And many of those premium will sister ships of those which were already available as a regular ships. So I don't see how creation of national trees for "smaller" nations could be economically sound. Single line will allow that chosen ships for regular tree could have some consistency in the gameplay, with its own set of gimmicks and consumables, if needed. And it will allow WG to chose premiums from much larger pool of ships with unique playstyle.
-
You can find all their unique skill here https://worldofwarships.asia/en/news/specials-and-events/weekly-specials-20180518/
-
Well none of these nations have good candidates for high tier DDs unless you want that all of them have Fletcher and Allan M Sumner/Gearing for T9-T10 . One DD line with one or two subbranches would be sufficient. Majority of those nation could only fill lower tiers with their own designs, mid and higher tiers would mostly be ships transfered from US or RN which would make these lines quite repetitive especially considering that it would be very similar for PanAm tree. It is similar with cruiser trees where great majority of high tier ships will be paper ships but it is questionable if there is any suitable for T9 and T10.
-
Yes it is. Or at least it should be. In his the Warship Podcast interview, @MrConway couldn't give any definite answer about that but considering model, which is in the post war configuration with removed catapults and even has a Argentinian crest on the stern, she will be released as Nueve de Julio. Only question is will there be a US version too. I really hope so.
-
And this is probably why WG choose Nueve de Julio instead.
-
Really a County class cruiser at T4! No chance It is a Leander class why would she be at T5? So you have Dido class at T7 and T10. Well she is questionable at T7 but definitively don't belong anywhere near T10. You know that Ontario has only 9 guns and is weaker than Belfast of Fiji by firepower. Even with HE she should be T7, with lot of buffs T8 top.

Indianapolis Marathon (01.06. - 16.07.)
fumtu replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
Or something similar to Aigle Marathon. As 0.7.5 with US CAs reshuffle will probably come on 30/31 May it is not impossible that there will be a set of mission for free Indy in June. But without any info and guess is good. I expect that we will find out when 0.7.5 is announced. -

https://worldofwarships.com/en/news/common/pt-075/ If there will be two round of PTS for 0.7.5 than that update will probably arrive on 30th/31st May. Seem like with 0.7.5 we will only get CAs but also new Collection and Campaign. -
I don't think it worth of concealment. Shima would be able to outspot YY for almost 1km and she is faster so good luck chase her or escape from her. You can have some 2.3sec reload on guns with 6th slot upgrade but your radar will last only 12.6 - 12.7 sec. If they remove that 30% radar nerf and instead add only 5% additional concealment than maybe could be viable. I don't understand that radar nerf when you already losing such important thing as concealment. From 100% yes to 100% no.
